We needed one of our rent home re-keyed and are real estate investors, therefore I thought I would try out this locksmith. On the telephone, I was quoted $75-$85 for re-keying 4 to 6 cylinders. I accepted since this was in line with what we are used to paying and they stated they'd be right out. Their technician came 30 minutes after the time they quoted. When the job was completed, I was handed a bill for $118.08! Some of that was tax, but that is 30% over the estimate! I was told it was for the cylinders, when I questioned the sum. Really? I told them before they came out, how many there could be. To make things worse our debit card was billed by them !
When I called about that, they said one of those fees will drop off in a day or two my bank did it? Well that seemed so I phoned my bank. Sure enough, my account was"hard billed" twice and the seller would have to fix it. We will. Still waiting for the refund for the duplicate charge.
