It happens.
Unintelligent-sounding woman who maintained that the price would be 40 dollars plus labor and I talked after calling a number of institutions. "Labor!" I thought,"Why surly it would just be a scant couple of minutes," since I had a friend in highschool who was a competent lock picker and made short work of everything from car doors to deadbolts. Seeing as my home was only defended with two door handle guards, known to be incontinent I felt no need.
Maybe not seeing any way from those which didn't finish with me paying them $50 and having to have a ride *shudder* into their van with them, I attempted to clear my currently gobi-dry throat and nodded that they ought to infact open the doorway. They turned their dim gaze on the hearth of my two bedroom pilsen apartment and got to work.
It was at this stage that I realized that I was being extorted.
Within ten minutes I was impressed to get a call from a genial albeit hard to comprehend guy accent along with a slight slur. "What support!" I thought to myself. It was then that I faintly discerned the term"$49.50 plus 100 dollars labor." A range of items seemed wrong to me about this term: the price that had been quoted to me was actually $40, $140 was no longer a bargain, $140 was a fourth of my standing bank accounts, and that the guy was able to divine the labor costs never seen the guards. He said that he will still come and look at the lock and then I can decide, when I mentioned that when this was the price then I just could not afford it. Reluctantly, I agreed.
Having little else to do I stared at my top-down that is child-proof windows, once I realized when I pulled it, that the display would come down. Within minutes I had informed Hanz und Franz of my plan and, having got their approval or what I took for approval, I was climbing in through the western window. Thirty seconds, perhaps due to my years as a highschool gymnast In all, I was talking into the Slavic sampsons.
My day to this stage has gone like this: I left my home in chicago at ten am central timelater I was to find that my keys found a way. It is most likely a symptom of the last week of school when I have threehundred pages of studying to do for tomorrow along with a six page essay on Montaigne due friday.
Upon arriving to my home in a menacing white van, both Arnold-Schwarzenegger"Pumping Iron" wannabes approached my residence, after first appearing about . I came to the understanding that if these men were sent by me away now, I would owe them $50 after hazarding a conversation that was more parody than play. After kindly explaining to them that I just have twenty dollars that had to last me through the week, and that my cheque book and debit cards had been barricaded inside the apartment, they had been kind enough to offer to drive me into my bank so that I could draw the essential amount of money. It was at this point, on this beautiful May afternoon, that I came to realize the reach of these gentlemen. Every one of them stood well within my height 6', and my relative weight was most likely what half one of these weighed in the uterus.
We aspire to get a little but once I was six inches from Conan the chest of the Less I was convinced to sign the reception at the time.
I was not truly concerned until I checked my voicemail, just to find that my roommate wouldn't be home until tomorrow! I had work to do that was now separated from me by two locked doors. Little did I know that "locksmith" is code for "on demand extortion."
No real surprise, as a result of the work of USA Locksmith my drivers side door now includes noise and a draft that it did not have before.
USA Locksmith's"promise" is"that the job will be done by professional Locksmiths, expediently and in a really competitively affordable low rate."
Among the, I named the first locksmith in a hurry and, AAA gave me the phone numbers of 3 nearby locksmiths and hoped for the best. A couple of minutes called me back and said he would be about the scene in 20 minutes. FORTY-FIVE minutes after, this dude shows up and begins - no lie - prying my door shut so he can stick a glorified coat hanger in to jimmy open the door handle - not the way I would expect a"professional" to work with.
I'm calling out USA Locksmith onto a broken promise on all fronts!
Terrible function by locksmiths that are unprofessional and in price that is unfair.
As I am giving the locksmith my advice, he starts becoming a standard A creep saying I seem too young to have a kid (mind your own business!) , commenting on my looks (ewww!) , and even going so much as looking at my speech and saying things about my neighborhood! Yugh!
The last blow was when he handed me the invoice. I've only locked my keys once before; that locksmith used a method that was very non-invasive was about the scene in 10 minutes, and billed me $40 - . However, this creepy dude who pried open my door billed me! Perhaps I am naive to the cost of locksmith job, but that seemed exorbitant. He told me that my car insurance would reimburse me, which seemed and turned out to be untrue.
Buyer Beware-The website stated $19 unlock and 15 minute support. I waited for 1 and a half hours and obtained a $200 bill Now! Go to an locksmith! AWFUL!
My total bill was 195 bucks. For the lack of professionalism work I would never dream of paying that much. But regrettably, we had been trapped in a terrible spot and my husband only booked the first guy that was more economical than others he called.
I had a lousy moment. A VERY bad day. I dropped my keys at the beach and went with my dog for a walk. When I went to try to find them, my dog was attacked (thank god no blood or anything, he is fine only shaken up) by a fighter NOT on a leash. That is a story for another time though. And you can not examine a puppy and a very stupid dog owner that is irresponsible. But, I could review when he said he'd be there in 20 minutes, my puppy wait for about a hour.
My phone was low on batteries so that my husband called and arranged for USA locksmith to come and help. He said it was an emergency and they stated they could be there in 20 minutes. Nope, it was . And when he finally arrived, he seemed like a college student, didn't have anything on his man to state he was employed with USA and didn't have anything to start. He arrived and looked at the lock and then went to get his"tools". Like you see in a movie he tried to select at it, yes, like with pin looking items. Not exactly what I expected. He then determined he need to punch on outside the entire bolt lock. He drilled out it, however I felt like he didn't really take care or try to think of other options because he said he had another appointment , well, whenever you don't get to me after 7, guess what it is your fault and I shouldn't suffer for this. I felt as though he was simply rushed to do it. At the time, I didn't mind so it felt like my bladder was going to burst.
I'll tell this to you and this is my first time ever losing my keys, it will never ever happen again! I really don't want to have to take care of a locksmith again!
And that my friends was later stuck outside for 4 and a half hours and being locked out. But regrettably it got cold and I had to use the bathroom something fierce so we couldn't wait any more.
He then put one of his locks in, which I felt as though we didn't really have an option because I was home alone and didn't really need a big hole in my door, so we got billed for that too, and the lock does not seem that good to me.
Then to top it all off, they told my husband it would be 45 bucks for him. On the bill, I had to register because I had to pay using a credit card, it was 55 bucks for the telephone. And he was like 35 minutes! Unfair!! And they billed 80 bucks to drill a hole in my door. Well, if I understood that was exactly what they were going to perform, I'd have experienced the janitor of my building ! 60 bucks for a new lock. SERIOUSLY?!?!
Don't call those guys, call anyone else, I'd say so what even if another place is more expensive! They will do a better job and be more professional.
I called to get my car door opened and the person on the opposite end was a total ass. Rude very unprofessional appeared to not know the city. I asked to open my door and they kept telling me see how hard it would be first and they'd need to come out. I kept asking" HOW MUCH, HOW MUCH" and in a really nasty tone he told $150 no matter what he did and that I would need to pay upfront with my charge card. I know I cannot give negative stars But I would rather just give this service the Middle Finger...,,I,,...
Everybody testimonials and I agree. I asked the guy how much will it be to start my door. He explain that it had been $125. He did not mention anything about another kind of fees. I wind up paying this guy $162. And I asked why,"He told me that the charges went up at midnight to the new year". I advised him," it is not midnight yet". These guys are RIP OFFS.
BEWARE! Should you telephone Info (411) for a locksmith, then they will give you this location. Should more than 1 number is asked for by you, other numbers also lead to this area too, so be careful. This business is a SCAM. A artist was delivered by them to my home to let me when I locked myself out. They lent me $55 to come out, and said that the locksmith would consult on labor charges when he got here. He just drilled a hole through my lockopened the door, and billed my credit card $242. He had my drivers license in his possession didn't give the itemized bill to me until after he had already billed my card. He forced me to sign a statement saying I had no complaints regarding the service in order to get my license back.
If I could give 0 stars with this place I definitely would. So... one night I dropped my keys and my roommmates were outside of town (just my luck). So I called this location up believing a locksmith is a right? NOT. Like the reviewer below, the guy never came up to my own building, but waiting in his van with his own apprentice or whatnot till I called them asking where they had been. They arrived in pretty much took a power drill through the lockand opened up the door. $750 after I had an open doorway, with a new set of keys (couldn't of cost more than $2) and a new door knob (looked just like something off the clearance rack in menards). I got ripped off although I'm not a specialist in locksmithing. The locksmith was unprofessional, and gave me exactly the impression he had been in a hurry, since it looked like he was going out to a club seeing the manner that he was dressed. I called the control and they had been equally as bad, I stopped payment. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.
Terrible. I made an appointment 1 week on a condo construction beforehand for lock work. When the time came for the appointment they did not show up. I called, and the dispatcher got the locksmith on his own cell. . He explained he"forgot" about the appointment. He said he would arrive in 20 minutes. He didn't. After nearly an hour I called back. The locksmith was found by them again. He drove around my area, but not anywhere close to my building. He maintained he had been standing outside my building and that my name wasn't on the buzzer. BS. While I was attempting to do this task done before I had to leave 21, I had been watching out the window. Nobody showed. I did later get two voicemail messages , but he apparently had gone to the wrong address? I just told them to forget it. Very bad experience, all they did was waste my time. After reading the other reviews here on this particular 19, I'd advise you to find somebody else, especially. Before I called, I had NOT. Stupid me.
