Had a busted water heater on a morning, water was hanging out by the house's face. Roto-rooter said it'd be 2-3 hrs before they could come and wouldn't give me some quotes over the telephone. I phoned Bay Plumbing and Jonathan was in my home within thirty minutes. He managed to find the problem (a busted, leaky pipe resulting in the outside of the home ) and repaired it within an hour!
He could have spent 2-3 hrs cutting holes looking for the problem. He didn't try and sell solutions to me and was honest.
Highly recommend to everyone. . .support companies that are local!

Decided to utilize Bay Plumbing to do a little job - replace a couple valves in my kitchen and bathroom. The little job blossomed into nearly 6hr of job (and a bill of ~$1000). Much time wasn't taken by the valve shifting, but Jonathan looked to everything plumbing. He wanted to operate on all these other things, and fiddled with my drains, knob covers putty work. So between the time it took him wander to his truck to get more tools and repeatedly to replace fiddle with everything, valves, I ended up with a surprisingly big and gloomy bill for what I thought was a task.

Jonathan first came by to get what he said could be a five minute free inspection of the problem, which he subsequently charged us for (30 minutes total). We scheduled an appointment for the following week, and he showed up but billed us for this missing hour. When he finally arrived, he took 1.5 hours to get work that should have taken no longer than 30 minutes total (according to what his office told us and the opinion of a different plumbing company). He always tried to extend his time by trying to find extra problems to fix and making small talk. Moreover, he overcharged for basic parts, in addition to for traveling time. Ultimately, after we phoned Bay Plumbing to inquire about our bill, Jonathan never called us backagain.
We wouldn't recommend Bay Plumbing. Though the technical work was done well, the general experience was not the ideal.

Would highly recommend this honest, kind-hearted and educated business!
I'd give Jonathan 10 stars if there's a way! My garbage disposal broke the afternoon before my honeymoon over a weekend. - Was making calls that were hectic to try to get it repaired for my folks that are staying at my place before I depart. Called Bay Plumbing, talked to Jonathan. So grateful of aid and his advice while other companies are currently quoting me $200-300 for crisis weekend rates! And that I know absolutely nothing about plumbing, so to have the ability to diagnose the problem and give me directions reveals he actually knows what he's talking about!!!!

I don't get back on people who roll up their sleeves and get dirty, but Jonathan took quite a while on everything he tried, took on jobs that I did not need done (e.g., removing and rinsing a furnace filter which wasn't very dirty), did not finish anything, saying he'd return at a week (charging me to get 2 visits), also abandoned a bathroom in better shape than he found it by substituting a flapper with another size flapper that is too big (he did not bring a full replacement set). He then charged me $21 for its $4 flapper and $75.20 (??) For another component that sells on Amazon for $25. he can say is that he bases his pricing when I called to complain about the parts cost of the 366 bill. This is different from what I have come to expect out of Redwood City.

Having Harry as my plumber for many decades spoiled me. I tried when Harry retired, the person who bought the business of Harry. He was unable to repair the problem he came for (advised me to call the manufacturer), watched my leaking faucet and said he could get me a replacement part for $200, appeared in my other faucets/showers and said he could come at another time to clean out, then left. Nothing mended, a week 14, then a $200 bill.

Anywayhe gives straight answers and advice. Bonus: you'll feel comfortable having him.
Called Bay Plumbing for a sewer backup in the downstairs bathtub (gross). Jonathan was able to repair it quickly with his electrical powered snake in the primary line. I ask him questions when he is here so I could evaluate what the following plumbing job ought to be (mend the low water pressure or add yet another bathroom?) .

I am just completing a bathroom remodel and still had to install the base sink. The plumber who did the rough drain pipes didn't place far back to the wall so it stuck out. The expensive and beautiful trim components would not work and it was the incorrect size ( needed 11/4" and he installed 11/2").
I called Bay Plumbing based on the reviews here.
Do just a little caulking and also I still have to patch the wall in the bedroom. Again saving me $$!
Jonathan was quite knowledgable and proposed a few options that are different. The one involved scrutinizing the tee, which meant getting into the wall from behind so I would not need to ruin the tile job.
He installed the drain and then hooked up the water supplies. Checked for leaks (NONE!) . Start to finish in THREE HOURS!
I told him I would open the wall up and he said that this was the best approach. He lower the drain so that the tee was flush with the finished tile and cut the old tee . After that was done, Jonathan made quick work of the project!
I will use Bay Plumbing and recommend their services.
Thank you Jonathan

Jonathan was able to come back out by 2pm and I appreciated that I got a telephone call in the office manager letting me know that he was on his way several minutes before he arrived. He was able to fix the leak efficiently. Jonathan seemed to really know his stuff and was very personable.
Had a flow in the piping between the front sprinkler system along with our well. Called Bay Plumbing to a Friday at around 11am, inquiring if they can get someone out that day (because I was leaving on holiday the next day).
I would strongly recommend him for any plumbing requirements!

If you have used Bay Plumbing prior to, be aware that it is not the guy any more. Harry retired & sold his company the repair guy that was new, to Jonathan.
This guy DOES.
Save yourself the annoyance.
Also he left me waiting for him in my very cold house for 2.5 hours without even calling to tell me that he was not coming (I had to telephone the office to get this out), so then I had to spend *a second * day sitting around my cold house waiting for him . My heat is back (after two visits, totaling $500), but when it breaks again, I'M NOT CALLING BAY PLUMBING AGAIN.

I strongly recommend Harry and Bay Plumbing for anybody searching for a plumber who's competent, professional and a master in his trade.
Harry did a wonderful job installing the toilet and pedestal sink in our bathroom. The total Bay Plumbing experience was fantastic. He picked up the telephone on the first attempt when I called Harry and we were able to schedule some time for him to come set up our fixtures. Harry was very careful in our sparkling new bathroom and even laid a cloth down to rest his tools all in order not to scratch our tile. When he began installing the pedestal, he noticed that there was a manufacturer's defect and that the sink wouldn't be level with regular installation. He found a solution using shims to fix the problem without compromising the stability of the sink.

I am quite happy and satisfied at the work and have no reluctance to recommend his work or to call him again.
Jonathan came out over two hours of my call. I had a bathroom which has been broken in the water wasn't filling up following a flush.
A delicate, complex problem was that among my designer bath sink bowls has been leaking. The glass jar had to be removed while silicone and the parts could be replaced and cleaned. I half expected to not have this because my contractor originally had a very hard time installing these repaired. However, to make a long story short, Jonathan disassembled everything, and then put it. No difficulties with the and no leaks bowls our setting it all together.

I called on Monday and Harry was Outside in the field. He did eventually call me back after on Friday, but he does not give estimates to people, so basically either I will employ him or neglect. What type of a contractor functions this way? Perhaps he does work, but I'm looking to perform a substantial job and it sounds like he is really more of a guy. That is OK, but I've lost a week waiting for him, because he did not return to me.
I had been told this evening he would call me back. I didn't get a call back. I called again on Wednesday, and again on Friday. On Friday I had been told he was active and didn't give estimates. I requested him to call me back anyway to discuss the job.

I revealed Harry that"problem" that Dave's plumbing pointed out to me personally that demanded a $500 fix. Harry said the matter is a non-issue and is not even close to needing a repair.
I called Monday morning. Harry called me back within a couple of hours, and then he came to my home that day!
Thank you, Harry!
I have been having ongoing problems with my 2 toilets. I called Dave's Pipes . They came out and charged me $160 for a 5 minute job, then try to"upsell" me right into a $500 fix that is completely unrelated.
Harry was quick to react, timely, professional, and most significantly - HONEST. He is fairly priced. He even left both toilets sparkling clean! One of them was pretty nasty having had the"stuff" stewed inside for a couple of days. Once Harry left, I assembled my cleaning supplies and ready to wash a bowl that was nasty. Imagine my pleasant surprise that Harry had cleaned the bowl sparkling white, when I open the lid!
He took the opportunity to diagnose the difficulties. Rather than costly repair off the bat, then he stepped me thru the troubleshooting steps. He diagnosed the problem to a wax ring that was installed. I had him reinstall both toilets for me. He spent 2.5 hours charged me a very reasonable $105 per hour. The cheaper Harry was cautious in diagnosing the issue, and that Dave's Pipes cause was fixed.
6 months after Dave's Pipes"fixed" my issue, my toilets started acting up again. This time I called Harry of Bay Plumbing. Boy, WHAT A DIFFERENCE.

Harry is a guy in this firm. Kathy handles the phone calls/ scheduling etc.. So often times in case you've got an emergency and if he's unable to attend it, Dale will be referred to by them.

This is the first time I am using the aid from Bay plumbing. The last time I phoned them they referred me to Dale Plumbing (another good company ). However, this time, I phoned them and Harry was accessible.
Harry is a professional that is good. Along with his troubleshooting, analysis and solution skills are at levels that are consummate. So his workmanship is fantastic. He is a professional that is friendly. So I am very satisfied with the work.
Other than that, I am very happy with their services. I recommend them without reservation.
And what I didn't like is... he came in at 9:40 and remained until noon (he had been in his car by noon, all packaged up). And he charged me. I had been expecting that he'd charge for 2.5 hours. I didn't haggle at the conclusion. But next time, I will talk about this upfront (and I suggest you do too).

This is somebody I found through their yelp testimonials that are leading, and Yelp is right about the money, after utilizing their solutions.
(Moreover, you don't want to make a water-related error when you're on the next floor!!!) .
While this could have been a do-it-yourself endeavor for me, it had all the parts including greater supply lines than my apartment initially came with, and was worth it to do it right by somebody who knows what they are doing.
I got rapid same-day provider, though my job was a little"unusual" (adding another faucet for my kitchen sink, so I had a dedicated dishwasher hookup), and the cost was reasonable.

We had a busted p-trap and were not able to replace the parts as they were obsolete. (This was on a Sunday). We contacted Harry in Bay Plumbing based on numerous Yelp reviews that were leading. He returned call first thing in the morning and gave us a"window" of when he would arrive to fix the problem. His assistant notified us he was on his way.
The problem was fixed by harry and updated how the pipes connected. By doing this, if we had a similar problem in the long run, we help you save cash and could mend it easier!
We highly suggest Bay Plumbing and are going to recommend Harry and this firm to anyone in need of a very experienced and professional plumber.

I called and waited for Roto Rooter. They promised me a tech within 2 hours. No one called me within the 2 hours or even showed. . .so I yelped for a plumber. "Bay Plumbing" had good reviews. So I set a while to you . . .the lady of the phone was extremely nice, professional and enjoyable! I explained her the issue and she told me that Harry needed the sump pump I had and he will come ready in case the pump need to be corrected. . .go figure a plumber that will come ready to work rather than for a quote! When he does the work, I will report back.
Once again stored by Yelp...

Harry was fantastic! When he said he showed up when he said he would too, and would, gave him a call for several drains, he called. If all people can do that! $115 for him to come out, and that he and a quick 10 minute job was done. Problem solved.
Will definitely be calling him for any other issues.

We've had job done in the past by Harry. Another man came and told me he is the new proprietor he'd bought the business, After we called for service. Please note that previous reviews are for Harry's stellar work and that those of us now serviced by the new owner are reserving judgement. He does not have the professional demeanor as Harry or exude confidence with his identification. We'd hesitate to get work is performed by him. I would rate it a 0-1 without encounter, if I was to this owner on our recent experience.
