He showed his knowledge and ability to work in a building with a coop board that was fussy by explaining how we should present our strategies convert our bathroom and to re orient the kitchen. He helped us keep on schedule because we communicated through emails and texts and gave us a deadline for architecture drawings and permits.
Over all, I felt that I had autonomy and control over my project while using the support and knowledge of Matt and his dad Ilir, that did some carpentry. Matt answered my queries over text quickly and acted as an adviser when I was stuck on a difficult choice like starting over in the toilet with tiles:"you deserve the toilet you want" he would tell me.
Once the project began, Matt sent me updates on the job and punishes me. The walls in my bathroom were thicker so demolition conducted a little long than expected. Another instance: Once the tiles began going I didn't realize they were and felt that it made the shower. I talked with Matt, purchased new tiles, I wanted clean lines without causing much delay and we changed them out.
Matt was accessible to come by the apartment before I signed the contract and then give him a deposit. I had a bidding leveling telephone with a sales rep at Sweeten.com who helped me understand what was being included in my contract with Matt than the other builders I was contemplating.
A similar issue occurred in our kitchen with all the scope. It was much to small and that I was concerned it would not ventilate being so far from my stove, Matt was briefed by me and we agreed we need to swap it. He briefed me on the cost of a few of the adjustments and I signed them off before he moved forward.
I hired Matt and his crew to renovate master bath and my kitchen in my flat in the UES.
I recommend Matt as well as his time because of his cost competitiveness, personal support and dedication to his customer being happy with the final product.
Even more strongly, I recommend homeowners becoming proactive in requesting help and publicly communicating with Matt and Ilir- **they are not mind readers! Matt came over within a couple of days after I fixed it quickly, and texted him to a turn dilemma. He was a pleasure to work together and his team was respectful and clean of my flat.
1. Knocking down an existing closet and kitchen wall (non-load bearing walls).
The Great: The project began and ended on time (Agalliu estimated 1 month); function was performed as stated in the contract; and Agalliu remained largely within funding, aside from 1 change order relating to electrical work, which had been roughly 15% of those signed contract cost.
It had been within the assortment of other quotes that I received, although the quotation of agalliu was not the lowest. After speaking to two of Agalliu's references, who provided glowing reviews, I chose them for my project on the strength of these references.
The scope for this part of the reno was to eliminate the bathroom door and doorframe, open the adjoining wall, and re-hang the door to the wall.
b. The Baseboard was not evenly aligned, nor was it sanded down to smooth the wood.
This required re-purposing the baseboard to fill gaps in the wallsocket. The end product looked sloppy because:
This project's scope is rather easy. When the floors were completed, I was happy. The floor color - a oak - looked great. At that point in time, I hadn't noticed that the floor in the edges of the wall had remained unstained.
The Bad: nearly all the end product's caliber.
On a level, the re-hung doorframe does not extend to the ground, and there is a clear difference between the ground and the doorframe, which isn't filled in by the brink tile.

My project
Agalliu Contracting was known to my by Sweeten to get a home renovation project this past year. In general, I exhibited no pride of ownership, and found the work to become sloppy, of inferior quality workmanship of Agalliu. I would not suggest them.
A. Silicone was used to repair the gap between the baseboard and the wall.
I used exactly the very same seats I'd pre-reno and did not change my furniture post-reno. All of a sudden the flooring are revealing scratches from the seats that did not put so much as a dent into the flooring pre-reno.
This is probably the worst thing about the project. Everything I will do some thing about with a while. To re-do the flooring and protect it will take me to move everything out a second time, which would require a reasonable quantity of work.
When I pointed these problems to Agalliu, 1 excuse or the other was trotted out as to why they cannot do better.
I know that there are compromises that must be made when I'm re-using exactly the material. That is where I would anticipate my contractor to be adding value. If the doorframe will lead to some difference between the ground and the frame, what are some ideas for making without resorting to building out a totally new framework? Not once were any ideas provided by Agalliu.
The door does not close unless I push it hard. I raised this to be fixed on two occasions using Agalliu. On both occasions, they blamed it on the door having to"settle" into the framework. In the long run, I only ended up repainting the door myself and sanding down. The door was simply never. When I close the door, I could see the base hinge. This continued even when I screwed from the hinge.
Less than a month later I moved back into my apartment nonetheless began to display scratches.
My husband and I recently moved in to our Brooklyn co-op and on knew we wanted to renovate our kitchen. We spent a fantastic amount of time doing our design planning - when we were ready we contacted Agalliu Contracting through Sweeten. Matt and his team are talented in what they do, and we were quite pleased with our engagement with them.
The entire team is proficient, they know what they're doing, and their job is top quality. Matt gave us very helpful suggestions on tweaking our kitchen design to maximize space. Throughout the project we remained in close contact by phone (calls or text), it was easy to plan out every stage of the construction. Matt and his team were very nimble and responsive. There were a several last-minute decisions we had to create, they had been patient and accommodating. One corner of our kitchen involves an existing riser and a wall. The group of Matt required to perform custom cabinet cut outs, to install our wall cabinets. They got the job done and it looks excellent, although this took effort and time.
They worked quickly and cleaned up in the end of every day. This was significant as we remained in our device during the renovation. They also finished in time. Overall, we were very happy and love our new kitchen!
Matt and his crew are professional, friendly and accommodating. We had the kitchen converted and remodeled the dining room into a bedroom. Throughout the job I'd tens of thousands of queries; all of that Matt answered or return to me promptly if more information was required by some before he can answer. He always took time from his schedule to answer his phone, react to texts or get back to me he said he'd, despite Matt having multiple ongoing projects. I employ and would refer Agalliu Contracting again and again.
Just a few months after purchasing my first home/ 190 sq tiny studio flat in Brooklyn I knew I needed a entire gut renovation. My bathroom was in awful condition. It had no outlet. The floor sank. The shower was tiny. The tile work was trash. The sink stained the white color of it beyond repair and looked like somebody had set out many smokes there. It seemed like it was 100 years old rather than the type. On the opposite side of this studio my oh and kitchenette boy was it dysfunctional. For it's age it might have been considered modern. There were no cabinets, just slabs of wood installed in an airy design. The problem was it was way too large for me to reach (I'm 5'7") and there was a wall in the front of the maximum layer that made no sense as I couldn't even fit a smallish pot if I needed the distance. In addition there was a classic barn-looking sink cemented to the wall it has pipes all came showing underneath. It needed to go. You might already feel how little it was, on entering the apartment. There was all this glorious 9 ft ceiling however there was this wall coming down from the ceiling that ate up 2.5 ft of this height. This room had one ceiling light fixture centered in the area. So as soon as you change it on upon stepping into the foyer and obtaining home, you'd wish to be back in the subway where it was inviting. The aspect of this apartment was that this makeshift wall that covered an old entry to it. It was paper that I could literally here every conversation from the other side crisp and clear . That wall made me mad.
Then eventually here comes his crew and Matt ! I am happy I picked him and I met with him through sweeten I was picking. He was the nicest human. I have met a lot once I worked jobs. He was patient with me and kept me updated with what was going on within our 1 month of working together, although I'd of mentioned this already in my review. He fixed and mended ALL the complains I had of my flat. A good deal of work out-of-contract was done fiscally reasonably. He went out of his manners to throw in lots of things out our scope of work for free because I was over budget due to my mind that was changing. I was fighting so much that he offered to pay for painting my flat (which wasn't within our range )- totally on him!! For a custom murphy bed cupboard to transport from the East Village to 26, towards the close of the project I needed a surprise job. We did this task during a holiday. He along with his other 2 guys came to me from another of the 9 to 5 renovation, then remained until 1am together until the job was completed! Meeting Matt was totally wonderful. His devotion to his job and the effort he puts in to connect with his customers really revitalized my beliefs in true New Yorkers. Real humans. Matt and his staff are just one of a kind.
Matt and his staff did an amazing job. They gutted our flat and transformed it by a mess into a gorgeous house. Matt had good suggestions for where to supply materials that are affordable locally so they could arrive quickly and not postpone our renovation. He is honest and a joy to work with.
Can not say enough great things about Matt and his work's results . We had a one-bedroom with a spacious living/dining room we needed to convert into a two-bedroom in a quick quantity of time (baby on the way). Matt was not only dedicated to high excellent work but also honest accommodating and realistic throughout the procedure, and only a pleasure to work with. Refreshing to see when folks take pride in their own job. Everything exceeded our hopes in what procedure and this product would ultimately be. We are super grateful to staff and Matt.
I was thrilled with my kitchen, which included knocking down a wall and the results and hired Matt and his team to do a kitchen remodel summer in my Brooklyn co-op. Matt and offered great ideas along the way and his staff were very helpful and responsive to my requests for alterations. They also improvised along the way with imperfections using the cabinets that were beyond their control. And did this on time and at a reasonable budget! I'd recommend them!
Hire themyou won't be sorry.
So I know of what I speak, I've renovated many many apartments and homes in my own life. Matt and his dad llir are extremely skilled and very
I'm doing yet another add on job and of course I called Matt.
I renovated a 2/2 Coop at Manhattan. I interviewed builders but ultimately fulfilled Matt and my hunt was over. We were able to agree on a final price. So I wanted to store and pick the endings I love to be involved. Matt never balked at items while I had been conscious, I chose of price, he never stated it was outside my budget. When we struck the inevitable Coop complication, we worked it out again no price change. There's nothing that he can't fabricate. In addition, he has great taste, indicating things before I could.
This is the most professional contracting firm I have worked with. I hired them to do my kitchen and bathroom and I am more than pleased. They concentrate on exactly what I liked and consulted me to make sure we ended up with the ideal product. I'd recommend them to anybody searching for succinct work done for business or their home. Thanks Agalliu Contracting!
Hired Agalliu Contracting to perform a renovation of my own two family. Matt the job manager was superb. He made my spouse and I were extremely happy with his job. Highly recommend Agalliu Contracting!
