We found out very first thing first on a Sunday morning (and the hard way) that our water heater not just was not working but had begun to leak water in our basement. We left a voicemail, called Essential Pipes and heard back from a representative whom was able to give us some methods before a plumber could emerge. Upon his day birth, he identified the problem to be a busted sewer pipe. He made me aware of his own work agenda, a reasonable price proposal, and he managed to fix everything as stated. March 2018When dishwasher was run by me, the water out of the pipe leaked around the kitchen floor. I called Maria telling her that as the fix was not done, I went to cancel payment on the test. She assured me that there was no need and she advised Fernando to come back out. She said he'd examine the pipes and he'd return my test.
I had Maria advised Fernando fix it and to come out and a leaking kitchen sink. He came and spent 5 minutes putting adhesive on the pipe and he then said this could last for 20 decades. He said that if we were going to move that we ought to reconfigure the piping so it had been up to code and it would cost around $400.

I decided to try one last time to reach out. I called and eventually talked with Maria. She said that she had not got my note. She gave me another email and I forwarded my letter. This isn't a company. I checked their testimonials online and came on Next Door across a referral. What I didn't know is that both the plumber, Fernando and his wife, Maria are not people you would want to work with.

Then every time that I attempted to call them and fernando never came out the telephone was not answered by Maria. She did send me an invoice and I replied back using all the following to her:
According to our discussion on Saturday, March 17th, I let you know that the sink problem leaked and was not repaired. You said your husband, Fernando would return this Monday to have a look at the sink and he'd then return my test and advised me not to cancel my test payment. Fernando didn't come on Monday and I didn't hear from you. I've attempted several times to reach you with no success. Have you got some interest in solving this situation?
Fernando asked for $80 and did not supply a receipt. He said that I would get an email receipt. He made me feel very uncomfortable, After his 5 minute fix he appeared to want to chat to fill time. He commented on the refrigerator, looked around everything in my husband's photograph. He also made a statement that Glen Ellyn people are wealthy. I advised him that was not the case. I wrote him before he left he asked for a hug and a check for about $80. Very strange, unprofessional and uncomfortable! Ladies beware and men, don't let him come to your house if your spouse is home alone!

Plumbing that was essential saved us. We naturally called the big name guys when we had a backup in our basement and are young homeowners. Roto Rooter told us that a whole horror story about just how bad the line was there were blockages they could not get their blades told us we needed a replacement of our main sewer line.
I'm pleased to know that even though we're out cash for two clearings of the line, we discovered someone honest and was telling us stuff for us to spend cash. I think we've discovered our move to plumber for any of our other plumbing needs.
Well, being smart folks we got other quotations and called around. Fernando spoke to us and came out and gave us a quote based on what Roto Rooter told us we needed. Based on our expertise that day we called him back to get a camera review. We were told that we were lied to and also the"blockage" was actually a dead end in the line that had been capped off. They also were able to get beyond all the other"blockages" they said were too bad to get past. They told me what they saw did not warrant a full or even partial replacement of the line and cleared the line. We need to get it clear out every few years.

We were known to Essential Plumbing by our normal plumbing company, who had been booked up the day we had an emergency sump pump replacement. They got and checked and took care of the issue. Fernando made sure that the job was done right and done well, and was quite thorough in his work.

Looking for service that is knowledgeable using a handshake and a smile? Look no more, this family business delivers. Ferdinand cleared a obstructed drain that was old for a reasonable price and fixed my sewer issue. He and his team were conscious of cleanliness and kept me informed and involved in each step. He'd stop to reveal exactly what he was accomplishing and teach me things I didn't know to stop troubles. This is after working with other businesses over the years. Keep up the fantastic work men! I've used these guys and every time that the service has been fantastic. They takes the time, provide and react in a timely manor. They clean up afterwords and use quality materials.

From there I asked advice and began to call around to other companies. There are different techniques, and less expensive, means to fix this problem. When I contested this to Essential Plumbing & Sewer, they never returned any of my multiple voice mails or mails.
Unfortunately things took a turn for the worst. They sold me taking a camera to see if we have some origins in our system while they were here. I accepted and we did locate origins. Immediately I was told I needed to put in a"clean out" in our yard and they gave me an glorious estimate of ~3,800!
* Essential Plumbing told me they work with the City of Wheaton all the time. Nobody had heard of these when I called the City.
In the end we discovered another company that rodded our pipes for less than $600. I know it worked since they showed me before and after video!
Some other issues:
* I was told I might find a copy of the video once they put a camera they did. I never did, despite several requests.
We had these men come out and fix some problems. I want to start this review. They fixed the issue and diagnosed. They could answer all of my questions as well as cleaned up after themselves.
I'd let things. I get it, people are currently trying to earn a living. The reason is due not to a single call back. Completely unacceptable.

So, following an incredibly costly and unpleasant experience with another sewer company and in reading the reviews for Vital Plumbing and Sewer, I contacted Maria at Essential, explained my situation and Fernando arrived to my house to assess the problem and assured me he could make the needed repairs. Fernando is charming, educated and was horrified. Maria then sent me a proposal with two options. I signed the suggestion and Fernando completed the work on Tuesday. I paid for the repairs and Fernando explained I would be receiving a paid receipt and warranty. Fernando thought it was included in the quotation, when I contested the senior reduction. In a nutshell, I was assured I would have the advice , and have achieved to Maria times. My request is quite simple - I would like a paid receipt, I would like any warranty information and I would like to know whether I'm eligible for a senior reduction or if it was part of the initial proposal, though, there was no reference to these in the proposal quotation. Nothing. Very unsatisfactory.

I have been working with Fernando from Essential Plumbing for many years. He is quick to respond to my calls and has come to be the plumber that I call for support. He's hones, he utilizes quality components and stands by his work. He does good work and provides exceptional service. Sometimes you get what you pay for, although his prices are reasonable, you may find cheaper labour elsewhere. He will not compromise on quality just to do the work for a rate that is less expensive. Fernando is always recommended by me without any hesitation whenever I am asked for a Plumber recommendation.

I had Fernando disconnect the drains, faucet and garbage disposal in May, to have new countertops. He came back to reconnect it 3 weeks afterwards, the garbage disposal flange was falling off and that I had a massive puddle of water which destroyed the wood at the bottom of the cupboard as well as many of the things I had stored beneath the sink. Had another plumber fix it, and he had to fix. Cost me the following $488 for the plumbing and $150 to have the wood replaced. Service Magic has eliminated my negative comment and Essential Plumbing has a 5 star rating. Service Magic it today reviewing to see if I am"eligible" for their support warranty.
