Do yourselves a favor and give this Polestar a go. You won't be let down.
My aim was to establish a GOLD standard and I think I have found it.
There were gimmicks, no surprises, or pricing arrangements. . .ala (Band aid cost, bronze cost, silver cost, professional price..etc)
Polestar is the provider. Larry was delivered out he was specialized in his explanations. (This was precisely what I wanted.)
ONE PRICE to Repair the Issue.
I was impressed with his quality of subject matter knowledge, work, and professionalism, I signed up for a membership. Which, incidentally, was reasonable.
I'm as I am also inside, a very picky, customer when it comes to the service industry.
I have been looking for an organization that is fair, won't attempt and con me, won't surprise me and most importantly takes pride in their work.
I have been in the Kansas City area here using the two big businesses.
Larry took the time to figure the history of this installed AC equpiment out, clarified the equipment that I have in my home, how it functions, how to shield it, and the best way to keep it maintained.
Unethical firm. They started out great, but fell short as it came to honoring their arrangement that was initial with me. Rebates were available in my ac system. I was told I was getting them. I checked in to look at the status and was told that everything was turned in. Regrettably, I found out (from the lien firm ) that Polestar's rebate was submitted in their behalf, but mine. Uncalled to speak with management after I found this out. I was told that I was given a choice, but wasn't. The office would not have told me that my rebate was submitted multiple times if that were true. They were interested in figuring out why the rebate firm told me the truth instead of making me happy. They had a chance but rather were impolite, and told me I was getting them, and hung me up. I would never consider purchasing there.
The service is second to none respectful. The purchase price is true and do not over sale. Would recommend to anybody is a increased KS City region.
Polestar is wonderful! When helping my family and my parents out, they have done nothing but been respectful. I cant say enough good things about this business, if I could I would give 10 stars for how well front desk and the techs handled my family to them. Will definitely be recommending them to family and my friends. Have proposed this business as had an wonderful experience and I thank them for assisting those to better comprehend the problem and what that is involved!

Completely unprofessional and incompetent. Had them come to check on a plumbing issue at a rental house in Olathe. They missed their 11-1 appointment interval and my renter took off work to fulfill with them. Told them 4-5 times they require a camera to extent the problem since it is probably a line leak or break below the slab for the toilet and when they showed up they didn't have a camera to scope the job and said they'd have to return Monday.
Polestar has great speed and high quality of service. The rep that helped us if our A/C unit had a flow was courteous, quite friendly, respectful, and helpful. The only downside I have with them is that I believe their financing and warranties are deceptive, though not by intent. They just seem unsure.
Our unit was covered by a warranty but the labor was not. When it came time to pay for the labor, the rep helpfully looked over funding choices and revealed some which appeared to be 0 percent interest financing for 9-12 months. I inquired Thankfully he double-checked because initially he believed there were none if there were other charges or any fees for utilizing their financing. Upon analysis, it turned out their funding had prices that their advertisements didn't show. Read the fine print, folks. We discovered economical financing through our lender and saved a lot within their"0 percent" alternative.
A very simple job of a bathroom that was intermittent become a comedy of errors. Four attempts to mend and of those attempts, they rescheduled or postponed five times. They fixed the day and the issue before thanksgiving they don't get the great ones and stated that they might need to replace the toilet since the bathroom and they came out. Eventually they stopped returning my follow up calls and blew the fixes off. They ripped me off and never fixed the issue. I called out another company (review you may find on google) who found the fill tube was not clipped in properly. Did the work at no cost in about 20 seconds then stuck around to confirm the fix. DO NOT HIRE THIS POLESTAR COMPANY!
We have one bathroom in our home. The bathtub would not quit spewing water even in the"off" place on a Saturday. They weren't able to come back out before Monday, although they were able to come out and look at it and told us we had a new faucet and handles setup for about $1200. They left and replaced the grips and faucet. I was thrilled to have a shower for the first time in three days, but I needed to wash out the grime the left my bathtub AND ON MY TUB MAT. It would not come off my mat with spraying it, so I turned off the water to go get something to scrub with. OFF AGAIN WOULD N'T SHUT. We called them and they sent the guys out again a couple hours later. This time when they left the water did turn off. But they had not covered the time to the drain that they worked, and now the bathtub was backed up and not draining. How did they address this before leaving?? and not notice We called back. We were informed by them they'd come out. So they come out. . .for just an assessment. In that evaluation they decided they had to replace the pipes under the home for $2000. They call us and tell us they'll be to work with it. I haven't showered at this point in my home in weekly, therefore I call them back and let them know that deadline is unacceptable. Due to my telephone call they were able to come out Friday morning. The guys that came on Friday had the most time consuming method to go about things. They had been at my home for 12 hours. And at that 12 hours while they were functioning that stunk up my property, that they took it on themselves to smoke cigarettes within our crawl space. During that 12 hours that they left the backdoor let my dog get loose and open AND the gate into the fence open. Their supervisor kept coming by and sitting on his car out front for chunks of time but not getting out to look at anything or their work. Approximately 5:30 in the evening I was ready to go because I had no groceries, get dinner. We were advised by them they nearly wrapped up - . It was frustrating trying to communicate with these people. And the icing on the cake? It's been a week and a half today, and I discovered since they had been here, that because they didn't place my bathroom sink back together properly it has been leaking into my brand new vanity. Totally incompetent.
My husband noticed our hardwood around our downstairs bathroom was warped on a Sunday evening. Upon investigation, we found a wet spot with drips within our basement under the bathroom.
I called the after hours and actually talked to someone! For a service call first thing in the afternoon A note was created. Then, a representative called about 15 minutes later to confirm my appointment! The leak was repaired, bathroom was replaced with high quality, water toilet.
Worst customer service ever! Made an appointment for 2-4, no call no show. Missed a half a day of work. Called the next day to give them a chance. Appointment place for 3-5, reschedule and office known as to try. Missed another few hours of work and never got my own flange.
They did the sloppiest, worst work I have ever seen... they had been expensive and poor quality. They left mortar and built the pex waterline in my wine rack shelving, not allowing me to move it back. I contacted the owner, Danny, no less than 7 times to have him correct the poor job... he NEVER showed up. When I finally threatened him with a poor review, he promised to meet me between 12-2 (I took off work to meet him). HE AGAIN, DID NOT SHOW UP! He ask to move the appointment from 2-3p, I consented. HE DIDN'T SHOW UP AGAIN!!! I have had it! Avoid THIS ROOKIE OUTFIT.
I called Polestar to come out and look at a tap in my house that was not working. Long story short, the technician decides to replace two stop valves that are working instead, tells me because he can not fix it, that I need a new faucet, breaks the faucet handle and charges me $220. Of course once he leaves, I was able to easily correct the faucet after watching a youtube video. Now it's working perfectly after I ordered the part for the handle.
I understand being charged $80 for a service call, but not $140.
The next morning the other and the gentleman came back, now with a range camera. After looking and looking they finally pointed to a place that was"suspicious" and may be deciphered. They informed me I had a new furance and cautioned me not to conduct my furance. They shut off my gas line and went to leave my furnace disassembled but I requested them to reassemble it the way they found it. They told me my heat exchanger was taken and that I had a new furance. . .oh by the way I need to get a while I am at it they stated. They of course were happy to write me up quotes on A/C and a new furance.
The gentlemen were both nice and that I hate to believe they were blatantly trying to defraud me, and there is. And, I am skeptical that he began talking about my heat exchanger before he examined it, being cracked. . .as when he only tried to confirm what he suspected. Unfortunately the experience was enough that I will not trust Polestar for my heating plumbing or A/C needs. I am sure they would argue they were only looking out for my safety, but it sure seems to frighten people.
Upon taking a peek at the outside of it the gentleman began to warn me that the heat exchanger in units this"older" are usually cracked. He had not started to appear IN the furance mind you, only looked at its exterior. I was leery of such a prognosis that is fast but nonetheles.
Oh incidentally, I am not convinced my furnace ever got"tuned up" which is what I paid in the first place.
The gentleman tried to confirm his suspicions but couldn't definitatively point out where the heat exhanger was busted. He looked pretty sure of it and told me he had to close my furance and gas line off and cautioned me not to use it or carbon monoxide could be released in to my residence. When another guy with a range camera could take a good look a follow-up appointment was put up by him the next morning. My furance and gas switched back on that night, and it worked fine.
After doing a little research I find the"cracked heat exchanger" is one of the most usual furance scams out there. I won't go into all the details, but here is just one of many links a quick Google search will yield on the topic: http://carbonmonoxidemyths.com/myth-1.php
The only reason this business is currently acquiring two stars is because the staff was friendly and prompt in returning calls and answering inquiries. HOWEVER, they are a rip off and will quote you.
Not impressed by Polestar.
Here is my story: I had a puddle of sewage in the front yard of my 1940s home. (The sewer line runs under my front porch and there is a hatch which pulls up so that you can see under it where the sewage line is) When they came out to quote, they did not even bother to look under the hole cut out on top my front porch to see why it had been leaking. They just told me cut down the tree in my front yard, tear out the lineup and probably they would have to take away my whole porch. On top of that, I I would have to pay another person to place my back porch on. They quoted me over $4000.
I called another firm to receive a second opinion, they stuck down a snake unclogged the lineup and ended up only costing $140. Have not had one problem since.
I was very impressed with the service that Polestar Plumbing gave. We have just moved into a new home and wanted our A/C checked. It was very apparent that the technician who came out (his name escapes me) was very knowledgeable, but he kindly explained everything in terms a brand new homeowner such as myself would understand. He looked everything over, made certain things worked then took the time to show us precisely what we ought to be looking for and educated us on what we wanted to know in our residence. Very appreciative of this. We made a decision to purchase the twice annual maintenance plan, as we need only Polestar going forward. Will recommend to friends and family!
Told me they'd be there between 9-11. I phoned them at 11:30 and they explained they'd contact me between 12-2, again I was made to telephone them after not hearing anything and had been told I'd be the next in line and to anticipate them shortly - eventually left a voicemail around 7. Wasted an whole day they figured they'd make a little money, if they could match me in somehow and overbooked and cared nothing about my time. Otherwise, who cares, it was not their time wasted.
Everything was going fine, until the concrete pad to the new AC unit arrived. My old AC unit has been leveled by two slabs, three bricks and a stone. Would you say"dumb and unprofessional?" I expected this team do a fantastic job and to eliminate that crap. One of them started to place the mat on the base that was old so I said to hold up. I removed the material, grabbed a shovel and place and then tamped it down with a few of those slabs by hand. I wondered why did I need to be the one in leveling the foundation, to direct the team.
The following day Steve came using the new AC/furnace's replacement thermostat and check to the house. Two hours after Steve showed me exactly what he had been working on and how my new"working" thermostat operated. However, the new thermostat wasn't exactly the Lennox icomfort Wi-Fi. As I went over the paperwork I inquired if I could get the unit that was Wi-Fi since it had been on the equipment list and if I wanted I had been buying. He said no problem.
If they came to verify their workspacethey didn't remove their shoes put on protective booties. This was disappointing, since Steve, dropped his boots outside the door until he walked right into my house and a Polestar post work tech, came. Can anyone chime in on the industry standard practice? So walked through exactly what they went to perform and must work. They laid canvas sheets out into the furnace area on the ground in the sliding glass door, so my carpet wouldn't get trashed.
I noticed a gas odor and requested the team lead. He said he checked the pipe connections and thought the odor was left over from when they had been attaching pipe. So with me , he also sprayed the connections with water and we looked for any signs of gas leaking. We saw none. They cleaned up while I used fans to blow out any gas. Before they removed, I was told they wanted me well and a replacement for your thermostat could be at the house the following morning.
I left the house and returned in the cellar and now the ground floor to the odor of gas. I called Dennis, the job manager, and he was on my doorstep 15 minutes afterwards with no complaints. He used an electronic gas sensor, did the sterile water evaluation and couldn't find a leak. He said"I want to be secure, so let me catch my wrenches and see if that will get the job done." In 20 minutes each of the connections were tightened the gasoline odor was gone. To be secure, Dennis told me to phone if the odor returned and showed me how to shut the gas off.
Now thermostat , two-stage mill and the AC unit are working fine. I figured out how to operate Lennox internet iComfort settings and the program. We haven't been hammered with temperatures nevertheless, so I'm eager to see the unit plays.
Looking back at the whole experience, here is how I'd rate the workers, support and final result on a grading scale:
I will utilize Polestar again for your own HVAC requirements.
I had three bids with this endeavor. I went with Suggestions from previous customers: Polestar predicated on three matters, interaction with Mark and the price. Polestar's owner, mark, came into the house to spec the job: replacing furnace and my AC. He was enthusiastic and did a comprehensive job. Mark figured out how to maximize a method within my budget and didn't try to upsale me.

I called Chuck and he apologized. I asked when I might get a WiFi thermostat and Chuck had another tech put in and bring the unit that same moment.
A = Chuck

Chuck, a Polestar sales rep, got me squared away on schedule and the final price. He's got good people skills. He also didn't try to upsale me. Chuck said they were sending a two man team to the house early and bright. At 8:30 they were right on time, prepared to go.
B= Steve
The team wasn't deterred by A collapse on the wireless thermostat. The thermostat functioned in its location. In my water heater, they installed an expansion tank as a bonus in the proprietor with no excess charge. The two man crew cleaned up the rug where they tracked in dirt while the canvas sheets didn't capture everything.
A = Mark
He said he had installed three of those thermostats when Jimmy arrived. I appreciate no bullshit and truth. Earlier we were all squared away, it required a little bit time to work out the applications, looking at the copy directions, looking at the instructions and a phone call to Steve. Jimmy checked the AC unit worked in concert. He detected the lines weren't secured, so he zip tied the lines. After he asked if I needed anything else.
I worked at the revenue division and am impressed to detail. It is always refreshing to meet someone in the contracting industry as professional as Nathan!
Beware of this company! My story is just like Danny C and Tanya D! Came out for a fall told me that my heat exchanger was busted check up, shut off the gas and told me I needed a new furnace. I would never hire this company for anything again, they wish to sell you gear you don't need. . .totally dishonest!
I really like this company. Their technicians are friendly and knowledgeable and the office staff will bend over backward for you appointments at your convenience when is feasible. They arrived the exact same day I called, After I had a leak in my air conditioning as it was 95 degrees. Another time my basement flooded, turned out to be a sump pump over Labor Day weekend no less and they had been there so quickly. The service plans are excellent and have heating and ac checkups. I needed my gas shut off from the gas company; I was not certain I did not have hot water since this was unplanned. Polestar came out to research, recognized the problem, helped me even of my pilot lights and get in contact. These people are professionals that will go the excess mile to provide you excellent service.
