I have posted about a encounter with Sparrows but I wanted to mention that I just needed a busted water heater and they were prompt, helpful, considerate and got the work done. They came out the exact same day I called and were wonderful! I will use them again!
Thanks to Maria and Sean --I had a leak in my bathtub faucet. I had a feeling my loved ones and I could fix it ourselves. Sean returned my call to trouble shoot, then told me everything to expect and where to find the part, talked me through the procedure. As I leaned a bit more about the way to change a faucet I was very thankful and I saved myself money, even though they could have insisted on sending someone out. I appreciated that they helped me out and looked out to me; I would use them again when I had a bigger job I couldn't handle.
These guys are my go - . They have been used by me for properties I have, at work and for my own home. I phoned them to get a stopped up toilet 3:22, along with the tech arrived at my house and had fixed the issue and was on his way back at the shop at 3:59. Service telephone is $125, which is sensible in light of fast service and resolution.
I phoned sparrow and son for a simple job to replace water heater. I told them exactly what type because I was out of town, and I direction. They talked to my parent and came out and obtained a type that was more expensive to be approved by her. There is A water heater two hrs of labour and about 300 dollars. From the time it was all over I paid 2500.00 for a simple water heater. They made a mess of my kitchen and made more of a problem. From leasing my space, of the savings I had earned went into this endeavor. I'll never in life use them again.
I made a call to Sparrow to line up a while for a person to come and clean out my lines to make certain there wasn't any clog. I talked to the secretary who told me after she lined up a team she would get back to me and called many times. They called me backagain. Bad customer service. They and called Carrboro Plumbing lined things up. Sparrow does not care or simply either does not need my business.
Normally my go to Carrboro plumbers that are local. Have had them a few times through time. Very disappointing experience recently when a real plumbing house emergency occurred (the kind where you can not use any pipes in the home at all!) Plus they said they had been too busy (for several days). I needed to speak to a few of the senior men to ask who can I get and finally with some stress they gave me yet another name who came fixed the problem the same day (inexpensively too). To get a customer that is regular and good I was quite disappointed. Guidance and understanding and a little compassion with this kind of emergency should have been forthcoming although I can understand them being occupied.
I phoned Sparrow for a flow in my washer hose connection. They came, cut a hole in the wall billed me $100 rather than returned.I waited and called for 9 days. I can guarantee they'll NEVER RETURN A PHONE CALL.My other workers were waiting for this to get done.so I drove to their office and talked with the owner who after a few minutes found my papers in a closed document???? He assured me they're there so that I waited the 3 hrs the told me personally and thn got the call...The secretary told me they're too busy and that was my day using 3 hrs away work.Eventually they arrive in a few days. NEVER AGAIN I dont need to pay these costs to be medicated so poorly. To their credit among the owners called and apologized and took $ off my bill.Their office and customer service is hurting their business They need action.
We had Sparrow flush out a tankless water heater and come out to fix a clogged sink drain. Our bill was $445 the kitchen sink has backed up already, I called to ask about this, talked to a Thursday to the receptionist, she returned my call with a quote to replace my pipes!!!! What? I realize I live in a house but??? I clarified I contacted our old plumber(no longer solutions ) and he inquired if the man cleaned out the"clean out". . .when asking the receptionist this she said that wouldn't make a difference! NEVER EVER will I recommend or use them!
Just so bad, and they did not care. They had been pipes subs hired by builder Frank Cole Building. Installation of toilet fixtures done improperly. (See picture at Frank Cole Bldg Co.. Same with work done on bathtub bath and downstairs bathroom. Couldn't get back them to repair their expensive mistakes. In fact, think among the bathtub fixtures broke. Might need to employ someone else to repair their expensive mistakes.
Update:"Bev" at Sparrow contacted me through email after reading my review . She connected a reduced bill for $40 in parts and just 1 hour of work, and apologized profusely. Totally realistic, this moment. I had already paid the invoice, so they mailed me that check. Kudos to them for finally doing the right thing.
Sparrow and Sons is a plumber for fast and fast jobs. We had a shower nozzle which needed replacing. It took ~35 minutes away from when they pulled into my driveway. As the plumber was leaving, I inquired if he could mend my kitchen faucet because it would spray water when turned . He said no issue and substituted it in 15 minutes, making sure he did not go within an hour for the two jobs.
It's been nearly four weeks and the two faucets are doing well. I highly urge Sons and Sparrow!
I unexpectedly found myself with water seeping out of my wood floor. Frantic, I phoned Sparrow and Sons (I'm a regular customer) for assistance. It was on a Wednesday afternoon (true before Thanksgiving) and I had been told that they would not be able to get to me before Monday day!!!!!! What is the benefit of having a plumber when they can not help you?
Everyone I dealt with, over the plumber and the phone in person, were very friendly. The reason behind the low score is because they charged me $95 to return and utilize a shop-vac for 20 minutes to remove broken glass in my trash disposal. I asked them if they don't work and came to take a look at some thing, would they charge the identical amount, and the woman of this phone only repeated this statement. Since they did no work I can not speak for their ability as plumbers. I'm under the impression though that you will pay $95 at minimum for the smallest of jobs. Next time I need a plumber.
We called Sons & Sparrow, and an answering service gave us the number of an employee at home .
The night our kitchen sink backed up and could not be cleared. (Imagine cooking for Thanksgiving without a working sink!)
We had a great encounter with Sons & Sparrow.
The plumber has been friendly and good-natured, came on time, and also fixed the issue straight away. My spouse and I were so pleased with their service so as to give them a good review, which I signed up for Yelp.
Thus, we had our old bathroom is taken by my dad and install a new one. He did it, nonetheless, although it was to be sort of a pain. Problems arose, though; condensation a leak and also a constant hissing noise --yeargh. We procrastinated on calling a skilled after which we had a baby! Upon arriving home the bathroom decided to just up and stop. It didn't wish to flush! This was not an option for a mom in recovery. I was like,"I do not care how much it costs, we must call somebody today!" My husband found reviews for Sons and Sparrow and appeared on Yelp. Of us calling, they sent someone out within a few hours. The guy worked for a short time . There were lots of heavy sighs coming out of the bathroom and grunts and then he wound up having to chisel away at the tile in order to correctly reinstall the bathroom. In the conclusion he explained it was one due to the pipes along with the tiles and whatnot. He was very friendly, though, and mended the darn thing, so we were very happy. We had been preparing ourselves for a hefty invoice, when a couple of days later we received a very wonderful surprise in the mail...a invoice for just $150. That seemed reasonable to us. I highly suggest Sparrow and Sons for any pipes issue that you or your dad mess can't fix yourselves.
