I find that many of times, yelp testimonials are not really accurate. On occasion a company has 5 stars, and I use a 5 star business only to find out the men and women who work there are dicks who do not care about you and just want your cash.
I used this business a year ago. I spoke to, I believe, the president of john and the business. They were both really fantastic.
A lot of times, people are nice just because they are being"professional" and want your cash, but I felt like the employees at merry plumbers are genuinely good people, and they are nice, just because that is who they are, not because they want your cash.
this review is long overdue.
Merry plumbers is great, and they are good men and women.
I had been watching videos, and I feel bad because john came to my home, and I did not hear the doorbell being rung by him. I said john never showed up and called the company. But I realized he left a paper notice about the porch light stating that he rang the doorbell and came by, but no one was home. It was my mistake, since my videos were too loud. I told them exactly what happened and called back plumbers. John came by and was quite friendly, and was not bothered by the fact he had to come by a second time.
I had this business come help me when I used to live in los angeles.
Desired descaling, clean the filters and to get maintenance done in my tankless water heater. Larry showed up on time and was quite knowledgeable. He performed the maintenance and when complete walked through what he did. He was quite polite and thorough, and made a couple recommendations. Cost for maintenance is a little high but worth the piece of mind that it was done.
The second follow-up trip happened, and while he managed to state that a part was required to address a leaky shower head (separate issue which came up during the trip ), he was not able to diagnose the problem with the sink odor or develop what could be causing the difficulties. (He did take a sample of the water which"did not smell" to see if anyone in his office could figure it out. Regrettably, he also left the jar of water from the unit and did not take it together so who knows what his colleagues would have said). When seem more or he could come back to correct the shower head, he couldn't say. This trip lasted about 10 minutes.
Also my HOA recommended and contacted, and the issue was reported by me in May 2016 for my HOA Merry Plumbers, who they used for the flat complex. No one reacted. Afterward, I followed with the HOA (who are extremely responsive) and they had been surprised to hear that no one contacted me. They hadn't done that. Several calls later and 2 weeks later,"Larry" finally stopped by my device to check out the odor problem, while he was already at the home.
My expertise with Merry Plumbers has not been merry, and I won't ever use them. Use them if you want to conduct business with folks who have capability to timely react and program inspections. In fact, per my talk with their office now, they can charge you the $90 even if (1) they are there for 10 minutes and (2) even if they can't diagnose the problem and develop any recommendations.
He was short on time and was in a hurry, and was not able to diagnose the matter at the 10 minutes or so he was at the device. We rescheduled a follow-up trip to explore.
Frustrated, I called several regional businesses and reached Bubbles Plumbing & Electric who diagnosed the problem. (I really got calls back and they were able to immediately diagnose the sink problem as well). They fixed the problem, and immediately put up an appointment, visited the device. Me, charged for labor and parts, and not for the trip out to the device. Quick, prompt support and identification of two issues totaled a fair $275.00 (no minimal service fee ).
I own a unit at a condo complex, and a tenant called me to report two problems: (1) a sink odor when water is used from the sink and (2) leaking shower and bathtub.
Let us contrast this with Merry Plumbers. Now I got the invoice in the mail out of Merry Plumbers for $104.00. I called to inquire about the bill because"Larry" did not diagnose the initial problem or correct the leaky shower head. While the lady was nice enough to waive the"$14 truck usable surcharge" (which appeared like the RIGHT thing to do because he was scheduled to already be in my apartment complex the day he ceased by the unit), she said that the 90 minimal service charge was demanded - IRRESPECTIVE IF THE PLUMBER ACTUALLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM OR DID ANY WORK.
We had a plumbing issue about Christmas Eve and Todd arrived at the rescue! A master and knowledgable plumber! Very type, a gentleman, and got the job done. He called the next day to be sure all was well. I wouldn't shop anywhere else. Thank you Merry Plumbing to your great service.
When this low in quality stoop it is so depressing. Absolutely shady and terrible.
Most dishonest company I've ever dealt with. I'm forced to use this business as a result of my HOA and I am stuck with a $140 invoice for a plumber that did absolutely nothing.
Because I had to give something 1 star. This could possibly be due but after reading the testimonials, it looks like an issue is with the whole firm.
My toilet drain was slow since they were used by my apartment complex and that I called this company. As soon as I called them out, the man removed the pop-up cap and then washed it. He tried to convince me that this was the problem when it was not obstructed at all. There wasn't any hair on it, only residue. He put a snake at the drain, flipped it on for 1 minute, pulled it out with nothing and turned on the sink. The water drained precisely the way it had been. He proceeded to attempt to convince me that the drain had been working MUCH. I am stuck with a hefty bill for somebody not and spending 5 minutes on my drain making any developments.
Unbelievable service. I had a pipe spring a leak in my backyard and TODD wear a"temporary clamp" that he charged me $17.75 and tax (selling for $2.97 on Amazon). It required him 1/2 hour to do the work and charged me $135.00 labor. Overall bill with part, labor and excursion charge was $169.39 for a"temporary fix". I now have to locate a real plumber to come out and"replace" the pipe. What a. Buyers, be quite aware!!!
I've had great success utilizing Merry Plumbing in the past. So when I had leaks from my washing machine valves that were hot/cold, I called to arrange an appointment to have them checked out. Because I know his job I inquired for Juan and he's done job for me. Noemi, the Office Manager, told me Juan was not available as soon as I desired and asked if Todd was okay to do the job. I agreed and he had been scheduled to return on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, between 8:00 and 8:30am. Todd arrived at 8:00am, not like some when they provide you with a window arrive closer to the end of it. Merry Plumbers are friendly and professional, polite. Todd recognized the problem immediately and installed new valves (the shut off form, as opposed to the turn valves). There was some corrosion in the pipes and he took care of this. Overall, he did work and continued the high standard I've come to expect from Merry Plumbing. They get it done right the first time, when they do a job. Because the problem has not been solved, none of this nonsense you get from different plumbers. I've always had positive experiences and you cannot go wrong. Highly recommended.
We tried Merry Plumbers on the recommendation of a friend. The plumber tried to snake the kitchen sink without even removing the J-pipe. I told the plumber however, the plumber said it'd be simpler this way. That the snake kinking in the J-pipe that is plastic could be heard by you. He removes the J-pipe, after wasting 10 minutes.
Professional work? NOT!!!!
That he immediately reassembles the drain after clearing the clog and he appears impatient to leave. He does not even test the pipe for leaks. I see the flow the first time I try using the sink.
Absolutely great!! These men always do good work and I recommend them. We've had issues with the kitchen line and the line to the primary (this is an old house). They've provided complete service and give answers.
Merry Plumbing bought out my A/C installation compan, Carreon, plus they chose NOT to honor some of the support contracts offered by the company that was old. Just bad business. If you had your system DO NOT expect the same level of support. Those"mom and pop" times are gone and the new company is HAPPY to hide behind their brand new"corporate" face to sidestep what SHOULD have been their duty in taking over Carreon. I will need A/C support for another 10 years on my current system, and then may need an installation after that - too bad the new company was not interested in all that business that is potential. Their loss.
Terrible company. The costumer support is the worst I have come across. I had been billed and they would NOT back down on demanding payment. Fortunately, I went to do the plumbing job that was big which I needed. I can't believe this company can stay in business I got. Use ANYONE else.
Take your company elsewhere.
I got a charge for $147.50. Don't use this organization. This is my first review on this. In this case I felt I had to, although I usually wouldn't take some opportunity to compose one.
Unless you wish to get the runaround and never have your issue do not use this company. I spoke on the phone to the a/c tech to set an appointment. He did a few things and came out and did not repair the problem which I found later that day. After several calls, he never came backagain.
Now all is cost do the work well, and replicate work on precisely the exact same item that was already done.
We now have a plumber. After patience with the slide, what a shame and thirty years.
We've utilized Merry Plumbers for 30 years. A few years ago, ownership changed, and it has been downhill ever since. They desired payment this year.
For more than 10 years I have used Merry Plumbers have received excellent support and to resolve issues which range from repairing leaky faucets to installing bathrooms to maintenance of the sewer line at my house in Pasadena. The office is efficient and friendly and also the technicians are proficient, pleasant, and professional. I remodeled the bathroom using Merry Plumbers since the plumbing contractor and as project management. The job had been planned and managed such that it finished within schedule and budget and the results are fantastic. The remodeling process itself was a minimal hassle for me since the house was left in good order and that I had been kept abreast of issues and progress. I am especially impressed with James, while most of the plumbers I've met from Merry Plumbers have been competent and agreeable. My bath remodel was managed by him and along with being a specialist plumber he's excellent project management skills. He is able to pick reliable and qualified subcontractors and negotiate reasonable prices and then ensure that the job is performed per schedule and satisfactorily. I had the opportunity to interact with the Merry Plumbers' owner and that he cares very much about the quality of the job his plumbers perform and his clients' satisfaction.
Merry Plumbers was used for years by a relative of mine and that is why I called them concerning preventative maintenance for drainage in a rental house. I found the company's owner stands behind his work/workers. After reading some of these testimonials, all I could say is these folks when they had a problem should have contacted the proprietor. He is fantastic to work together stands behind his technicians' work. If you give them a phone, the proprietor will win your business.
I have to say that if you're searching for a plumber, look no more. Merry Plumbers is fantastic!!! My mother dropped her ring at the restroom. We thought there was no way. We called a couple of plumbers and they told us that the only solution was to simply remove the toilet and if the ring is not there, then it's gone. When we called Merry Plumbers, knowing how significant the ring was to us, they told us that there would be an option with no warranty, which is to dig into the main pipe of the house and arrived within 5 minutes. They spent a good 3.5 hours digging and at the hot weather, at the end of the 3rd hour, both John and Ernie's face was dripping with perspiration and hands were trembling but was still fully positive with big smiles on their face. They used a pipe scope using a camera to move up to the water drain system of the house. No luck. They did not give up and went another direction and the camera range down to the streets all the way. They equipment was intriguing but my heart was 80% sure because we did not observe the ring with the 26, that the ring was missing. They told me that flush down the water and their next routine was supposed to bring 5 gallons of water at one time. We flushed the water down at least 3 times with 5 gallons every time and no luck. John then asked Ernie to collect a bunch of toilet paper and flush it hoping it would catch the ring. I couldn't believe my eyes when John stuck his hand in all the guck and fished my mum's ring! It was past 7p. M. and they had been extremely responsible by putting the pipe together and told us they would be back early morning because it was so dark to put the dirt back into the 6 ft tall hole they dug. Their price was quite reasonable for most of all and the amount of work that has been involved, service and their attitude was excellent. Thank you Merry Plumbers to your excellent service. Much gratitude to John and Ernie's dedication and expertise in finding the ring of my mother!
I have being using Merry Plumbers for years. They have always been courteous and arrived in time. They mended plumbing problems that were different. They return with a solution and would follow up, when they couldn't fix it immediately. The only thing they are reproached by me, is not always phoning back in a manner that is timely. They'd definitely get my 5th star if they could correct this tiny problem.
I had my main drain done recently and it cost a penney and there's not any gaurantee and it is back up. That I was quoted one price and of course charged higher since it took him more than anticipated, although the guy was very nice, I thought? My fault or his that understands searching for a plumber that cares...
I Have used Merry for the Two plumbing, as well as for Air Conditioning. Larry is very knowledgeable, but when he was unfamiliar with my systemhe still provided tons of information and got us pointed in the ideal direction, at no charge.
