OUCH. As it turns out, there's a snake attachment available which slices such items as toy balls. Roto-Rooter includes a sterling reputation for reasonable pricing and exceptional service. Well, that reputation is in the toilet now.
I had been gouged by Roto- Rooter this afternoon. My tub drain was (and still is) plugged up by small kitty toy chunks. The technician Leo (very wonderful fellow) employed a powered snake for 15 minutes. The balls couldn't be pushed with this technique. He called his manager who advocated sending out two technicians at $279.00 an hour EACH to go beneath the house and disconnect the drain. I explained the floor is slab, the boss offered to bring a jackhammer. That would be additional.
Don't USE this company is price gouging. Their employee showed up with muddy boots and walked through my house leaving a trail of mud.
Second they needed to charge $400 dollars to snake my own sink. We said no thank you. I called the company and left a message and asked the"mangers" to call me back. I always give businesses an opportunity to make great before I give them a yelp that is bad. No offer, no telephone. You get a bad yelp.
We discovered a plumber to perform the job.
The Franchisee just marketed the local franchise back to the parent company. Their prices have more than Doubled!!! There is A kitchen sewer line clearing $375! It cost $150 six decades back and $175 a few months back. Use neighborhood Petaluma plumbers to prevent getting ripped off. You may wait a day or two to receive your plumbing.
Service man was qualified and pleasant. He worked and cleared the drain. Not with that sort of $. Use technicians rather
July 2019. We paid $175 for the exact same support and used plumbing. Much better support for way less with a plumber to boot.
If I could, Can give nothing. Gave this place a chance regardless of the horrid reviews all over the area from different websites. The woman I talked to Shelley, at the office, is a doll. So sweet and will do anything to help. The technicians, the workers however?? TRASH. "Marcos" need to find another career if he's not going to really do his job. Didn't call when he showed up for my property, though I was readily waiting, put a"quote" in my door to get a few blue pipe?!? Head, I have never talked to or seen that excuse, he's quoting me $350 for a few nonexistent pipe?? You'll have better luck doing it all yourself and going to Home Depot.
I'd Santa Rosa Roto-Rooter, owned by Jim Patterson (CSLB # 1001120) if their website is correct, out to a rental house in Petaluma approximately a month ago to clear a drain. They had the ability to do so, but it clogged again. The technician arrived yesterday and charged $350 to"clear the drain" One day later and it's clogged . I called this morning and was advised a technician could be calling me within an hour. That did not happen. I called and they said that I'd hear from the on call supervisor over 20 minutes. That never happened. I called a technician and a third time called me . He said he would have to charge me $375 to run a camera down the line to locate the clog and moved into the home. I explained yesterday, that we paid for exactly the service and he explained he could not get a hold of this guy who arrived yesterday so the one thing he could do would be charge us. I wish I was kidding. I advised him to forget it of course.
Do. I'd complain to a supervisor, but I realized his value-added mindset stems from the very top after hearing him on the telephone with his manager. Do not get ripped! Do not call this shell that is phony
Not. Call. Roto-Rooter!
This is one. I am writing this review to warn people that they are are a fake shell company which has their techs on commission, so that each'independent contractor' just makes money on just how much they can control, regardless of whether they get the work done or not.
Jose, the tech they shipped out, has a serious attitude problem. He wasn't educated about the instructions I gave to the woman that was unpleasant. He refused to help me clean out the sump chamber and he was told about the portion of this job and stood and watched me, an old guy on safety finally put on a pair of rubber gloves and take action myself.
I had a back-up due to root intrusion in the sewer drain pipe, which causes the sump pump to clog up. I've had this problem fixed by actual plumbers efficiently.
I had removed the cover, pulled it apart except for two flanges that demanded a wrench wrench. We pulled the pump up and he pulled up the float and then charged me $248 dollars for two minutes work.
The customer support is abysmal. I described the problem in detail to a bored, rude woman who is probably being paid close to minimum wage and wants to ensure that the caliber of her job is less than what she's paid.
He didn't appear to wish to perform what I phoned him for (Snaking the lineup ) and then I confronted him about the exorbitant tip-off charge on the first portion of the job that I did 90% of, he also did a very short half-assed snaking that I don't have any confidence in. He left. I feel cheated.
They had to come out twice to repair the matter entirely and the service in the office was dreadful. I spoke several occasions and she had a attitude both times for no clear reason. Customer support is with her far from priority. Needless to say I'll be discovering a plumber.
Plumber Jose Clemente gave excellent service, super fast considerate, and he answered all our questions. Cool professional who understands his trade! Thank you
Roto Rooter will be my go to for all of my plumbing needs.
The other time was in my own work environment. We had been having a plumber from the other business come out multiple occasions to find. In fact he could not locate it 3 times.
DO NOT THROW GREEN BEANS DOWN THE DRAIN.
(ya, don't do this!!!!)
Roto Eliter came to my aid lightening fast and lickity split. After 3 hours of snaking, Roto Rooter pulled out a 12+ inch jolt of gunk that wasn't found by another plumber from the other firm the 3 other times he cane out.
(Pun Intended)
Roto Rooter has come to my aid. For that time I threw beans down the drain,
LESSON LEARNED...
Functioning the hour. I was very impressed that they came fast to my aid, relieving me of my drain that is clogged. They were very reasonable in cost and it wasn't a arm and a leg.
I took it upon myself to call Roto Rooter for into the"Root" of the issue.
Employed them year later than 1st review. I give them 5 stars for Kevin and his understanding to solve and fix our issue but 0 stars for not telling us that their prices had increased dramatically. $235 an hour a year ago and was not told on the phone when I chose that prices had gone up 67 percent! First thing Kevin stated was"did they tell you about our new prices" Nope! $375 no matter how long it takes to fix although it includes. My sewer is clogged and that I do not have enough time to call different businesses and wait more time to fix our problem. Now I know to call different businesses and ask rates up front as it was $375 for 45 minutes of effort!
If I could give Roto-Rooter in Santa Rosa a minus review, I would. Roto Rooter delivered an invoice for $419 to us. After we declined to pay because of a poor job and wrong counsel, which cost us even more in the long run, the best they stated they could do would be reduce the bill to $250 but when we didn't pay it they would report us to a collection company consequently ruining our credit - pure bl__kma_l within our publication (you fill in the blanks) therefore we paid the $250, however, we'll never use this company or some of its franchises again. Complete rip-off!!!
That's the only thing he did, though the service man came out quickly. Our complaint was a toilet. The service man said he unblocked the pipe however, the bathroom still would not flush without the water coming up to the upper edge. The service individual (who had no clue what he was doing we realized later) said we had a new bathroom so we bought one instantly and had it installed. This didn't address the issue. Finally the block was eliminated by our maintenance person by putting a high-powered blower onto the wax ring in which the pipe is situated only under the bathroom. He had the drained cleared in under 5 minutes and put on the first bathroom and what has worked fine.
People are being scammed by them. They replaced 2 valves in my toilet in under an hour and billed a total of $435.20. Find yourself another plumber do not visit Roto-Rooter!
Terrible service. Our sewer line was backed up. Plumbing in the home completely unusable. Called Roto about 10 AM and was told we'd have a tech show between 3:30 and 5 PM up. Roto did phone back later and state they were backed up, would have a tech appear afterwards, but could not give us a moment. I waited till 8:30 PM and called their answering services. The answering service revealed nobody was advised to see us! Answering service got ahold. First words from his mouth were"did they tell you about the new price?" They want only under $400.00 (average rate non-after hours crisis ) to clean out the lineup, over TWICE what it cost only two decades ago when we last used them (yes the exact same firm ). Never again.
Steve and jeremy came out to our home 90 days ago exactly. Our 2 bathrooms and 2 showers have been backing up and there was clearly a problem with our septic lineup. In experiences the lineup was snaked to get roots out and that usually cleared up the problem. These men looked into our septic tank and concluded that we needed to hydro jet our septic line outside to our leach field, a $744.00 job. Much to our hesitance to have this done, since our septic tank had been pumped a few months before, we had the origins snaked a few years before, and having never heard of this service being needed when bathrooms and showers back up, we agreed to the job. BIG MISTAKE.
Roto-Rooter will never be recommended or use by us again, and we urge. We wish we can give them a rating less than one star.
We had an encounter with Roto-Rooter that's worth writing a review that will keep enough individuals from making.
We had yet another plumber look this afternoon into the home and outside to our field and come out. From what they could see with their camera, there was no evidence that a hydro jet support had been done on our traces. When they had been not and here performed some service that we did not even need had Roto-Rooter recognized it properly, we'd not be in this situation. Clearly, their plumbing technicians are inexperienced or under qualified for their position and if that were our company, we would not employ individuals looking for $750.00 jobs incorrectly rather than taking responsibility for their mistakes.
90 days our 2 bathrooms and 2 showers are backed up. We wish to emphasize we had our lineup from the home to the holding tank and also the line from the holding tank outside to our leach field hydro jetted for about $744.00 90 days ago. The operator on the phone told us that the job was not guaranteed. The serviceman Jeremy had crossed out that the guarantee amounts ! They are NOT standing by their job and have left us as if we didn't have a ceremony done at the first location. Any company should stand behind their job, especially if it's been done within the terms listed in their receipts.
Over time you expect you don't need this type of assistance, but if you do, Roto Rooter is fantastic! A few years ago I wanted assistance in Novato, and now in Petaluma. Marcos was specialist, on time, and did a fantastic job cleaned out and back into service. (egg shells, that understood...) I called Santa Rosa Roto Rooter on Sunday morning at 9:45, Marcos came at 10:30 and was wrapped up by 11:00. A job that was thorough service, and also the accessibility made the cost that a non-issue. $276.00 is well worth it (to me) to have my own backed-up drains cleared in under an hour.
Our drain blocked up about 11:30am. I was told someone would be outside between 12-2pm. Jeremy came at 1:30. It was apparent he really knew his business. That the clean-out was found by him and roto-rooted the drain ; it was blocked with origins. Things were back to normal in one hour.
I got another opinion. He replaced that part, charged me a minimal fee for his time, and we were back in business.
Nevertheless , I had a bad experience with them I thought I should talk about. On their website, Roto claims for conducting a quote they will not charge a commission. This seems to be based on the matter and the location. Our property is remote, so I know why they'd want to bill - but it is especially bothersome given exactly what I experienced.
We had a problem with a few of our propane water heaters. Roto Rooter techs came out and concurred that they difficulty existed, suggesting an alternative that would cost $8000. Not something we'd be interested in doing. They did not diagnose the matter, but I had been charged that charge.
Roto Rooter predicted back suggesting they could do another truck roll (another $400!) If they could determine what the problem was, but they might create an exception this time and credit that charge back to see I elected.
I get it - no one is perfect, but this particular plumber repaired the problem in an hour charged me less than those men charged me to do a truck roll that resulted in no answers.
The staff is very friendly, such as the techs. They clarified the situation nicely, and despite having an initial scheduling difficulty, generally had good communication.
No complaints on a crisis, fairly drain clog clearing in my sewer lateral on a Sunday evening. Had guests at the house so no decision to wait until Monday. They were able to cut the roots at the line out with a couple of passes and finish within an hour and showed up calling. The tech Gabe was courteous and explained things as he went along. If they had come out, it was $250, so not cheap but I had predicted another firm who could not make it out and they were minimum. So given Roto Rooter fixed the issue in an emergency basis using a reply, I believed it was reasonable deal.
How do I begin to describe the happiness Harry brought us. We were without water due to attempted toilet repair by my husband.
My daughter seeing with 3 children....HELP. We'd called.
Should you will need an expert please call Harry. And I'll spread his name much and
As a stab in the dark I phoned Roto-Rooter who had their support guy call..before he got here to discuss our problem. Harry came and within 20 minutes he had solved the problem with ease and confidence. Oh, joy thank you.

Thank you Felipe! You saved us! Unclogged all our drains for half of the amount quoted by a different service.
