The next time was now, once I wanted sink and shower repairs. I am not bothered with a dispatch fee of $39. (Another reviewer, Joel J., shouldn't know service charges --they don't drive to your residence for free!) There is A fee industry standard. And, after using another plumbing company in Boise--those of Wickstrom greater than double --I'm quite pleased with both the quality of service and the rates.
Telephone Wickstrom -- and this one is family-run, which I truly love -- if you want a capable and responsible plumbing company. They are vouched for by united Water, and now I do also. They're my family .
I've used Wickstrom's services now. The first time was when my water had a break . Wickstrom is a service provider for the clients of United Water --and that told me a lot. The two technicians were sterile, worked really hard (in the summertime sun and warmth of July 2013) and did terrific work.
Okay.On the Up-Side: Wickstrom appears to have great intentions/practices in striving to become a professional company, i.e. licensed, bonded, longer-than-average limited guarantee, membership in professional trade associations. Getting through to owner Scott was a CHALLENGE, but once accomplished, he did his best to be adapting Scott didn't know what sort of pump was arranged (employee who ordered had taken the remainder of the off day & could not be reached) but if we did not like that pump, he'd keep it as a future"loaner" while we discussed and picked another, which was to be unnecessary. .
While most of this wasn't costing us money per se, it WAS costing us TIME, frustration, showers, laundry, etc.) I can not tackle the purchase price, as the quote was a lump sum instead of hourly rate + stuff, which made comparison difficult, and at the time we received the verbal quotation I did not have the heart to call different businesses to compare, as we were already in for an afternoon's work - primarily wasted digging. Wickstrom was recommended by a friend, so we simply took deep breaths & crossed our fingers...
Nothing had been received by us in writing prior to the invoice, which had me worried. The back side of this invoice outlined their"Terms & Conditions" including hold harmless clauses for natural effects of the work which could cause property damage & absolving them of keeping gates/doors closed for kids or animals. . .disheartening! Luckily, all of the employees were we had no difficulties with property damage or pet escapes.

Hoping this review provides insights to our roller-coaster experiences. If the experience is stellar or awful, it is so much easier to achieve!
Prompted by our septic pump alert, we called Wickstrom Plumbing on a Monday to locate & diagnose the issue. We have a new pump & operational system.
We called to see about a time to have it looked at and had our AC go out. They could affirm a time the next morning. Chance and Chris showed up on time and looked at the system. I was advised before hand of this trip charge and they advised what the problem was, after looking at the problem. Being a very old system wasn't sure if the motor was stocked by anybody, although they said they'd look for the part. I was told exactly what the cost is to replace it and have the system checked and running and they had discovered one. They did a great job in getting our AC back up and running and were both very professional. The majority of the price was the motor, while the price was more than that I hoped for. I would use them again.
I wouldn't even recommend this company.
Water main to house. Prepare to cover 3-4 times over prices if you do not have United Water. After 2 hours had to call to get the inflated quotation, we were charged a trip fee and . To substitute 110 ft (with a bore) was 7700. If it had been trench it would take 3-4 days with 2 guys on it I had been told.
His partner and chance we are on time, very considerate and knowledgeable. They did very little damage and cleaned up their job site. I would suggest their employees and Wickstrom!
I then asked how much per hour his speed was he said" I do not know. Excuse me while I find out." . After 20 minutes no one else helped me so I abandoned along with the guy never came back.
You do not know just how much per hour?
It started alright. Asking questions ect.
Just bear in mind that a flat rate rather than hourly charges. They charged me a $40.00 trip fee they do not apply to the invoice. Also the apartment rate was $300.00 to do a job that required them just a half an hour. That amounts to a whopping $600.00 an hour and no components were involved! The gentlemen were professional and courteous but they are very pricey.
