Baker-Elman Plumbing Company

These guys are fantastic. I used them lately to install a pump and a sink in my basement so my dehumidifier could continually drain rather than needing to dump it out 3 times per day. They gave us lots of information were expert during the procedure and were responsive showed up on time for its installment appointment, did the work well and quickly, and charged a fair quantity. I'll definitely use them again. It was also good of them to service East Boston (where I reside ) from Newton (where their HQ is).

This is the best instance of a multi-generation business becoming too large for its plunger-so they do all they can to suck jobs not to their liking out of their method: 1) that the"we're booked til' (title month 3 months ahead of whenever U telephone, 2) have a secretary"just follow orders" and lie around prev. Customers/giving references to non paralegal decals (e.g Drain Busters, etc) and telling you they could do tasks without telling you it is really best left to someone with a license, 3) have absolutely no loyalty if you are not inside their affluenza burb place (which can be disjoined as"SHaron and Newton" for locations.
When I was a kid, my parents used them in the 1960's. . .we had a decal on the heater, which is the reason why I recall. They came once, to alter a water heater, but spare me their costs for guarantee on it being"graduated scale"...I think they would likely be doing business with me if they cleaned up the Challenger explosion Nevermind my individual experience. . .hope you have pleasure convincing them to come out themselves quickly if you have an emergency.
Baker-Elman=cookies that are stale Elmer's glue level of consumer service-can't say they aren't technically skillful.

This review is on a single trip, but have to say I was impressed with Baker Elman from start to finish. From when when the work was completed everything went smoothly, I needed to schedule the appointment, I had my hot water tank replaced. When scheduling the appointment over the phone, the person I spoke with explained in simple to comprehend terms what they would do and the price (very helpful for someone like myself who understands very little about hot water tanks). When I emailed to see if they might look after that as well I got a reply stating they could, I had to have my own bathroom sink stopper fixed. A very satisfying experience across the board.

Baker-Elman offers the best of both worlds - a company's professionalism and a family business' maintenance. Top to bottom, each person at the workplace and each service tech was terrific. Don't waste your time with other businesses.

Pipes that are amazing and staff. 1 factor of the team I love is that there's a staff dedicated to scheduling the job that comes in and communicating with homeowners- that not over promising and makes all the difference. After the plumber comes out he or she is on time provides information and options, and respectful. Thank you - drain clearing, boiler repair, hot water heater replacement. Every job has been topnotch.

The plumber showed up on time, was really nice, and also did a great job. The whole thing cost me about $160 and took just over an hour. I will continue to phone Baker-Elman for any plumbing issues. These guys are great.
I am basing this off of one trip, and a very simple job at that, but I am really impressed thus far. I'd another plumber out here to do a kitchen faucet that is very simple install, and after quoting me $400 and then saying he couldn't match under my sink, he left. I called Baker-Elman and they have been pleasant on the telephone, setting me up with an appointment.

Unreliable and late for appointment, then did not wind up solving the issue. I went with another company to get my issue. Do not use them!

They are bad and unreliable communicators, to the point where I got stuck waiting for quite a long time and no plumber stopped coming up. So I intended to be home through the agreed upon time period we scheduled an appointment. They emailed saying that a plumber was on the road and called. Over hour after, I called to find out if he had been missing or had the wrong address and they said he was shipped by them elsewhere. They were rude. I actually waited for more than an hour so the guy wouldn't ring the bell and wake my infants up, and they decided to change their strategy based on which was convenient for them, not the customer. & communication, really disappointed, not really worth my $$.

I called them since my water heater was flooding the basement and began leaking. Steve rearranged the schedule so he can send 1 person and also make sure we had water at the weekend of everybody, and came in a few hours. Drew set up the brand new heater with competence and came only a couple of hours after my call. No charge for the crisis. I was really impressed... and grateful!

I have used Baker-Elman for years and have always had support. They will come in a crisis basis, appear as scheduled, do work and wash up after themselves. I have worked with plumbing companies and this one is the one to predict!!

The fact that they continued after getting complaints, sending a weirdo pervert makes this company one-star worthy.
After my boyfriend allow the guy in, he left for work and I was home alone with the employee, who hit on me (inappropriate much?) . When I told my boyfriend, he called the place and talked to the owner, who explained since he had numerous complaints he knew. Seriously?
I don't really know anything or whether or not performance-wise this firm does a fantastic job, but I do understand one of the workers is a wacko.

Three times have been used by me. Once to put in a new furnace and water heater to fix the heat and to get a urgent pipe leak. The furnace and heater setup went very smoothly and on schedule. The two urgent calls were managed within hours. My experiences with Baker-Elman are fantastic and I've recommended them to others.

Great service. We are living in a condo with a unit under ours. The seal on our toilet leaked water under and broke. We had fast service that it would not cause too much damage. We called and a person was at our door within 45 minutes. They did a great job, the plumber had been professional and the job has been done.

We were living out of town and hired Baker-Elman from afar to fix quite a few plumbing problems here in Boston. When we return to Boston and in to our location, we found that things were not adjusted based on our own specifications or not fixed at all. We requested them to come and fix and they agreed to come but charged us full price for the fix of the things! We found out that they overcharged us for some fixtures.
Maintain your money. Pay somebody else.

Avoid at all costs.
Because they did not note, nowhere do I write they actually fixed the leak. Instead, they said,"well the leak is not from the plumbing as far as we can see. Btw, here is a bill for $300". Sweet.
I had a floor shower escape. Baker Elman was called by me. It took 3 hrs to them to do the following:
Can I mention that they cut a hole the size of a small child in my wall????
3) Break a bathtub fixture (brass finish), and put on one using another finish
4) Break the caulking on the fixtures
To add insult to injury, they said they would replace the busted fixture, but that if I needed them to do it for having to come outside 35, that they would charge me. Sweet.
You would be better of flushing your money down the toilet hiring these guys.

Regardless of the bad reviews, I proceeded based on a personal recommendation. I should have trusted the yelp testimonials. More was busted than fixed. They took care of it in a way, but I didn't expect them to come out and fix the job. I hired somebody else.

They return the call when I call them. They come to my home and calm me down when I'm freaking out. While I have an emergency, these individuals are there and can assist you. There is no single plumber at Boston - span.
I have been saved by these guys . Basement flooded - Baker Elman was out there within 3 hours fixed the neighbors issue and helped me fix and diagnose any impact on my side. This has happened more than once.

This firm acquired Best of Boston 2008 for a reason.
He showed me the part numbers, when not able to fix it as a result of components needed, and kohler sent us them . Better yet, Cheryl came to the house, found some elements inside her warehouse and it also worked. I gave her free replacements.
No, I really don't have any interest in this business, I am attempting to help the average homeowner, since its hard out there!

David Elman called the house to inform me updates. It got fixed before thanksgiving. My spouse lost it until afterward. Um, it did not cost a whole lot for 3 full visits (can you guess what we paid?
It all started with the kohler kitchen sink faucet.
They have a good deal of good info online as services readily available, and they're LOCAL to the west of boston inside 128.
I can't recommend this firm enough thinking about the sea of unknowns in metro boston. Call them before anybody else!
The plumber came out over a day (they've emergency support also ).

I was very pleased with the work they did replacing the pipes to our kitchen and bathroom sinks. . Both of the men also did an INCREDIBLE job cleaning up, explained everything they were doing, and were extremely polite and professional! The basement area where all of the debris had dropped looks impeccable (much better than it'd:-RRB-. The entire experience was good - responsive office (excellent email which is exactly what I like ), multiple visits until the work was completed, and they showed up on time and completed the work quickly. Can hire them again!

Can not beat them.
