I had seen his van in the area but never utilized before this morning. He returned the call. Discussed the problem with the furnace I had been having. He arrived in my house. He quickly diagnosed and solved the problem and the furnace worked again! His charge was fair and the fact he came out on a Sunday morning is incredible. He seemed cordial and very competent. I am pleased to have a regional HVAC person whose pricing is whose reaction time is quick and within reason. I strongly recommend Mr. Burris for the HVAC Services!! Definitely use again.
Updating my critique since Mr. Burris was adamantly requesting via messages on yelp and via USPS I eliminate my critique. He even went so far as to send me a letter to my house, I received today,--months after after telling me Yelp would obstruct me because of breach of community standards, which has yet to occur --to explain he retains a handyman's license,"home remedy: according to Chicago Municipal code: ARTICLE XXVIII. Those docs will also be attached. He threatened me with a suit for defamation of character based on his refusal to provide me. Note he is not a builder but a handyman, which is nice, but one's feelings are increased once met with the response I had been given of"I'm not comfortable providing that advice, so find another handyman". Per the municipal code must be available on any quotes and advertisements. As an educated consumer, I was within my rights to inquire if he had been indeed licensed and insured as a plumber (plumbing contractor, who'd have distinct requirements, educational requirements, etc.) to prevent wasted time. I might have never needed to leave the inspection and quietly found a plumber if he had just given me the information I asked over the phone, without the response from his helper. But instead, I received from a relative and business colleague of his own, that implied that I should find somebody else, and that it was not one of company to understand his licensing and insurance status. Which I did, through Angie's List (who came out timely, billed about $10 more than Mr. Burris quoted by phone and was indeed accredited and bonded plumber using 30 day warranty for work performed). I would like Mr. Burris to quit putting me about this old inspection, because clearly he has no idea how the legislation works and should stick with house repairs and also be more forthcoming in his communicating, especially when advertising as the municipal code he attached (just in part) says he is required to do.
Mr. Burris has assisted us with our furnace and AC. I highly recommend using his company. He is not focused on gauging costs. He is focused is on providing the best service for your best price for him and the customer. I appreciate him being consistent, timely, and honest.
Called regarding our air conditioner not working. He responded promptly even came to see what the issue was. He left saying that he had a ladder and NEVER came back nor called. It's been. He just vanished! No call no response.
Mr Burris responded to confirm issues and took my call. He came 15-20 minutes later. My problems were diagnosed by him . He clarified each issue in which I could comprehend as a homeowner. The education was appreciated by me and knowledge being shared by him as a professional. He also completed an assessment to insure I had the essential amount of Freon. He spoke with my warranty firm concerning the repairs. The price was fair. He accepted so it was fantastic experience credit cards on site. I will be making an appointment for service in the Fall.
Professional expertise. I have only fantastic things to say about the service that I received. I got my unit from my tenant in shambles. A/C was not functioning, thumping faucets when you turn to the water. Nothing important, but it might have been addressed if it was reported.
Mr. Burris did a fantastic job finding and then fixing the problems with the AC units in my building. He went to reveal exactly what the problems were and how to prevent them from becoming an issue in the long term.
I lately had them come out to fix a leaky shower enclosure. Mr. Burris had the issue identified and fixed within moments and even gave my renter a lesson on how to correctly shut the valve off as not to harm it later on. Took down me to go over a few things with my boiler. Truly a man that wishes to pass down his knowledge to people with his services so we are able to help ourselves. Would most definitely use him again.
I took off one star because he was about 3 hours outside the original window he gave.
After being quoted a ridiculous fee to repair my garbage disposal by a different plumber, I contacted Mr. Burris and that he responded very quickly. Not merely did he support my house within hours of contacting him, he completed the fix for a fraction of the price, also assessed the problem before taking a peek at the sink!
I needed a sewer backup. It was awful! First I went to Roto Rooters because they provided a 6 month warranty. The issue returned. The issue came back within a couple of weeks, although the came rodding my drain again and back. They (1) refused to return a third time, and (2) refused to offer me a full refund. (See my Roto Rooters review for more details.) Called Burris and Sons and Mr. Burris managed to permanently resolve my issue. I would never used them . Thank you Mr. Burris for fixing my issue.
We known as Sons and Burris for assistance with a toilet, which was backing up into a bath tub. After arriving in a timely and professional fashion, Mr. Burris quickly evaluated the issue, quoted a fair cost, also articulated an action program. A few hours afterwards, not only was that the problem solved, but Mr. Burris was able to correct another issue related to the clog. This was two other technicians wrongly assessed the issue and didn't solve the issue. Mr. Burris also provided thoughtful advice on upkeep to prevent future troubles. It was a fantastic experience and I'd urge Sons and Burris to anyone.
Sons & burris will be my first call for any future plumbing requirements.
Called their (very polite) message support first thing in the afternoon along with the plumber called me back within an hour. Was able to generate an appointment for the exact same day within a few hours.
Had a drain that needed to be snaked out something severe and Mr. Burris and his apprentice immediately solved the problem and cleaned up later - (thrilled about the previous part- have had previous plumbers blast a drain and leave a huge mess)
All-in-all once I spoke he was enlightening and understood that my needs of support.
The message center needed an estimate and greeted me. I provided my advice and got a call from the plumber. I missed the call and called back and had been hauled back to the message center.
Hopefully, in the long run they change this experience to you simply have to present your advice.
I phoned Burris and Sons on a Saturday morning because among my tenants' water heater went out. I needed someone to deal with this and had been out of town. Mr. Burris answered promptly. This was about the fourth or fifth call that morning, I'd made. . .the others didn't answer or simply went to answering services or voice mail. Mr. Burris gave me a deal over the telephone and said he might be there within the hour to examine the job website. I phoned my renter to check in and she said he was downstairs taking care of things. He completed the job and was great.
We've been in our house for 4 decades and have known as Mr, Burris for service twice since the owner has employed him. The two times was courteous and competent, he came out immediately, and solved our problems quickly and efficiently. He charges were reasonable, I phoned his companion and he called minutes after I left a message and guaranteed to emerge in the morning despite the fact that it is after 8 pm. Definitely highly suggested.
Here's the issue. When I called to make an appointment he explained his service charge fee was $90 which comprised all labour and any parts were extra. So he claimed occured and looking at a heater he says its 135 because there's some vague explanation regarding a heater and an extra fee for cleaning.
Just like I had been, don't be fooled by the 5 star review. For exactly what they charge, A COMPLETE RIP OFF. Employed some big hair drier looking tool he also fumbled with. This is.
Very dishonest individual because he is dependent upon his fees hits it against you . STAY AWAY and pay no attention to the 5 star rating. It wasn't even remotely close to what they stated, I am guessing was probably written by him. ZERO STARS! One final fact....
It is clear that there was no intention of standing behind the work or troubleshoot. Put a bandaid and he wants to string you along. Another service firm came out to disclose our furnace was shot and if we did not just replace it, we'd continue to have problem.
We had used Sons, Burris & after previously to get a boiler difficulty. Called for another issue- . Burris ran a gas leak check and assessed to see why the pilot light would not stay lit. He installed a pilot lighting mechanism and charged $354. The pilot moved out back again, This day. They had been informed and we had been told they would return out Saturday. You and no word can't contact him directly so you are held hostage into your home. He shows up the day on Sunday. When asked for identification he was unable to produce it (my spouse had coped with him - not me I'd never met ). He said he would return in a half hour and we haven't heard anything from him since.
We are definitely proponents of encouraging of regional companies that are small but cannot encourage Burris. Very unsatisfactory.
We have used Mr. Burris several times in the past and I discovered that his dedication to service is superb. Is that he goes out of the way trying to correct issues rather than just telling you its time to get a system. Very knowledgeable. Highly suggested.
