My 9 year-old water heater was leaking like crazy through the overpressure valve or some other piping, not through the floor. I predicted to McNiff Plumbing find out about getting it replaced day. It was not a rush because I had already shut off the water inlet and the breaker and then cleaned up of the water mess. I have one of these water heaters at the crawl space beneath the staircase, not easy to get to! Jim did a fantastic job with removing my old water heater from its residence and installing a one that is efficient and was there at a little over one hour. Very professional and I shall call Jim for almost any plumbing needs from the near - including replacing sooner or later. Thank you Jim!
Jim mapped out the lien incentives available from our energy provider subsequently wrote up three different options to pursue, also gave us a timeframe for how long each would take. A method was chosen by us and he talked us through what to expect.
So if you're looking to perform the work right - you've found your guy. Jim McNiff is.... The guy.
I will keep it short up front if you care to see further, expand: you found your plumber if you are reading this review.
I first met Jim on the advice of a buddy - we endured a suspended clog during the sub-zero cold breeze this winter, and even though he is not a"clog man" he called me back fast and pointed me in the right direction.
Everything works now - our heat is reliable, silent, and best of all - much more affordable. The contractors Jim had to bring in did an excellent job too.
So when we wanted to replace our inefficient oil furnace with a gas program that is new, Jim was my first call. He came and scrutinized the machine, quantified every radiator at our home, and developed the BTU requirement. (Notice: this is the appropriate procedure, and when a person only sells you the exact same size boiler, then they've already neglected - which boiler may be under- or over-sized. Jim is the kind of man who wants to utilize his own data to get it correctly ).
To put simply . Not only did Jim install a new system, he was able to compress the footprint, saving us 14 feet in our cellar. That kind of foresight comes from experience. When you see him work, you realize he is lined up all his fittings from small to large, and has everything mapped beforehand .
If you get a reasonable price, and are currently looking for quality, perfection look no further. McNiff Plumbing is great. Jim installed water tank that was indirect and a high efficiency boiler . I utilized the mass store program to do so and it can a nuisance but Jim made the setup the most easy part of the whole thing. Jim is topnotch in his trade. Great to work with. If you are interested in a plumber make one telephone to Jim mcniff. It'll be your only telephone.
Excellent support! It is replaced and we discovered our hot water tank leaked this morning around 11am and working fine. Jim was here within the hour to assess our tank and begin repairs and gave us a quick response and quote. Couldn't be more happy .
Fantastic cost, Fantastic plumber, have employed him many times: furnace and water tank; toilet and sinks; and additional smaller jobs.
Again, McNiff into the rescue!I am a repeat client who experienced a water heater leak. McNiff identified the issue and came out on short notice, fixed it and charged a fair price. He's at the top of his game in all respects. Returns calls provides accurate time reveals when he receives it right the first time and says he's going to diagnosis and the fix, estimates. He is the sole plumber I will call.
We'd McNiff over to substitute the water faucet in the bathroom this week - the"chilly" knob sheered away and was out of commission. Who wants in scalding water to brush their teeth? Not me!
James (Jim) is very thorough (methinks a perfectionist), is careful to not mess your belongings in the area he's working, and really *cleansup * until he bills you. Short of flying my dad out I can't ask for more at a service practitioner.
I predicted the answering of Jame service a little 9am. He was at 10:30 snake in hand. Not only was an over all"nice man" he managed all of the questions I had about how clogs happen, the way the snake operates... etc. He charged a very reasonable fee THREE TIMES CHEAPER than Roto... and to be honest, the man from Roto was a jerk.
I'd call James in a heartbeat for any little plumbing need (he's just done a little plumbing job for me) He's honest, fairly priced and what I call"good people"
Jim was recommended to us with a colleague. They had been impressed with his job. We were impressed with the job he has done for us.
I've got a little knowledge in the trade having worked as a plumbers helper a few summers for my brother-in-law, a master plumber in PA.. In my conversations with Jim I quickly came to the conclusion that he was 100% on the mark with his estimate of the problem and recommendations for your occupation.
Jim is highly recommended by us.
Specifically, our house was transformed by Jim to natural gas by an oil boiler. Our home is over 100 years old and demanded our system to purchase the brand new boiler in addition to install it to be correctly sized by Jim. He pulled on the licenses and lined up the necessary tradesmen for the project. We had a chimney service to install an oil tank removal service, removal of the old boiler, a liner to get our chimney and an electrician for wiring updates.
We also used Jim to get a repair recently. He was simple to contact and schedule and very honest .
Jim accomplished the setup in under 1 day and lined these contractors up!
He covers: Stoneham, Winchester, Melrose, Medford, Malden, Charlestown, Somerville, Burlington, Cambridge, Bedford, Reading, North Reading, Wilmington, Billerica, Andover, Tewksbury, Saugus, Woburn, Wakefield, Lynnfield, Revere, Arlington, etc..
Our heater expired and Jim fixed it instantly at the right price with quality parts. Jim does boilers and water heaters, plus kitchen and bathroom jobs. I strongly recommend his support - email me to get CALL JIM and a reference: 781-438-6381.
