McQuillan simply replaced and installed a brand new AC system. They arrived at 7 am, worked straight through until 2 pm with no breaks as far as I could tell. They were a great group of guys that difficulty solved a difficult situation and we could not be more happy.
Even though you can expect you cannot expect them when they say something requires repair or exactly what it costs to perform the fix. For three years that they told us that our air conditioner would die any second because the EPA prohibits it and they can not add more coolant. A second view revealed the air conditioner is fine and there's not any need to instantly replace it (maybe in another 5 or even 2 years). And after inspecting our furnace they advised us it would cost as little as $900 as much as $6000 . $233 and A second view revealed our furnace to have regular tear and wear, and also the technician fixed immediately. They told us that our boiler was in trouble and had countless dollars of work but another opinion revealed that a small drain needed to be rinsed out (2 minute job) and otherwise, our 3 year-old boiler was working well. Their tradesmen have to be paid minimum wage and a proportion of what they oversell. We and three strikes will not be calling them.
If you are seeking a business which will upsell you at each turn, miss virtually every commitment they make, overcharge by 20% to the market, and outright lie to you concerning what their support covers, then this is the right contractor for you! I
We had a boiler difficulty happen at our home over the weekend. The McQuillan Bros. tech, Nate, flew to our home in under an hour and had everything back in working order shortly after that. Though it was a Saturday, he took the time to spell out how the equipment worked and what measures he took to correct the matter. He had been friendly and kind and took his job while still managing to have a sense of humor, which was most welcome in our (then) chilly house!
We had a significant quantity of work completed in our vintage house on pipes and the boiler system. We all know when it is time, although we're a young family that tends to DIY. McQuillan carries a superb reputation as a skilled, honest, marriage shop.
McQuillan did work and came . We will certainly work with them again once we're in need of the services.
Our bid that was initial was completed by a gentleman who seemingly overpromised and underquoted what was going to be done. This did not appear to be the very first time that had occurred and he was let go. The story is that our cellar pipes ended up being abated and removed by a subcontractor until McQuillan's install team captured the correction to our problem will be hard and FAR more expensive that had been initially discussed. We had been left scared and frustrated with no heating in a toddler and our house.
The installation professionals were thorough, profession. Care was taken to consult on the positioning of each pipe with us to ensure it fit with our vision and application of a disjointed and old cellar.
Within hours of the situation arising, the owner of the firm was at our house to apologize, describe how they were going to handle it. The project was in no time and we had been given a reduction that is very considerable to remedy the circumstance.
We had a fascinating experience working with them that could have turned out. We think that it's well worth singing their praises however, due to the way they responded to what could have been a situation that is bad. It is always best to be aware that a company will correct an error if it's made. McQuillan went above and beyond.
. When our AC was busted I enrolled their home care program during summertime, because it is old their only suggestion was to replace the AC. Our friend helped one part being replaced by us and the AC was working fine. I requested for their furnace safety check service, as our furnace was old, and nightmare began. The technician put a red tag to our furnace since there was a cracking which could leak CO and if turning , we chose our obligation, my husband had been warned not to turning on the furnace. It is fine, it is 20-30F outside and we have elders and a baby in the home we set up CO sensors so we must turn on the furnace. Then we found the temp controller was missing by that the thermo stat, our furnace kept heating to near 80F unless we put up the temp. We also called and complained and the firm kept to assert that by law this furnace has to be closed down, and the alternative they can provide is fix it ($5000) or replace it ($7000). We had been screwed-up by them after their trip, the issue isn't the fine cracking, the dilemma is that the technician didn't put back some cables in their positions and we dropped the stat control! Our thermo stat should work as if they did their job. They do the business is to market their components and trying not to fix it to replace it. I'm done with this company and stop calling this company to do any test, which they need is project not helping you solve your issues, in case you have units running perfect at home.
I wanted. The tech was educated and efficient, and came immediately. He wore newspaper booties and had been respectful of my house. I will certainly use them again and highly recommend.
Good service. . Their guy was here 1.5 hours complete. My water was being sampled by minutes of that and trying to upsell me. When he offered me the $549 price I inquired why so much and he said it is just the company fee. Not negotiable. He understood our tap was broken, so we were in a rush (non-emergency) so that I just feel McQuillan completely took advantage of my situation. Will not use or recommend them. Make sure you get some idea before you're accountable for your own 69 visit fee, just how much they will charge.
Technician quoted me $905 to displace leak detector. Called manufacturer who told me that this was an unfair price and called to cancel repair and also the price was reduced $600. Provided me a water softener I didn't need for $9310. Do not be fooled by quote.
I asked about replacement, he gave an off the cuff quote of between $20,000 and $30,000. You are able to purchase the exact same exact unit I own for a gas line, three water lines and $3700 to hook up.
Replace the heat exchanger for $1999.00. Can purchase the part online for $800.00 (this one is nearly plausible, however all parts bolt very easily.
Absolute SCAM.
Next part:Ignitor replacement for $356.00, can purchase the kit online for $86.95.
Next part: Flame detector replacement for $499.00. Can purchase one
Diagnostic $200.00. This machine gives error codes that you could look up in the manual. I had the codes until they came out and what had been wrong.
Straightforward Cleaning, $899.00 ( you utilize mineral oil and burn off the residue with a tap of a button on the device itself, for just this purpose)
Had one of the service folks come out to inspect a boiler. It wasn't working at the time. Was quoted a few parts and $ for replacement at $3500.00 in parts and labor.
First part, Temp relief valve $499.00 to substitute. Can purchase one at the hardware store for $17.00.
The guy was pleasant I have no complaints about that and really friendly. I had been needing a new furnace so I had been interested in getting a quote. As a women I understand what I'm being scammed although I understand very little about this type of thing! To get a furnace that was new I had been quoted $10,000 to almost $12,000 for it to be done. And in a city home it seemed just mad. I had a couple more quotes from various company's and they couldnt believe the quotes. The firm's estimates were in the assortment of $6000 to $7200. Is because they didnt believe I'd understand better? I am not positive if I should be offended that they believed I'd think thats a reasonable price? Money was hard earned by its simple crazy to attempt and take advantage of individuals. .
My furnace stopped working this past winter and had them out to take a look. They had been on time which was friendly also, and good. We had been told the tech one thing, after inspecting the device, and it currently worked. He did advocate a deep cleaning of the device which was over a thousand dollars, as well as a part should be ordered. We discovered the furnace wasn't working. We had them out to take a look, and this time another tech arrived. After his review he found that a cracked heat exchange, and was surprised that that wasn't found by the tech, although again he was very nice. That did not make me feel good, particularly as it is a thing to have happen. This new tech told us it can not be turned back on and shut off the furnace. A salesman came and offered options for a new furnace to me, however they all were extremely pricey. Their prices seemed over the top, although I realize there is a furnace not affordable. I drew my issues up and the dropped a few hundred dollars, but with the prices I was being offered it did not make a lot of difference. I ended up going with a different, much cheaper option. I gave a follow up inspection on thier customer feedback poll and never heard back. Im not positive whether it was was certainly not capable because he didn't identify a cracked heat exchange. It was a bad experience overall, although the techs were fine and on time.
What an awesome company!!! I highly suggest McQuillan Bros.. I live in CA and have a townhouse in MN. I called them and they got to my house per tenants at 9:48pm. Had the parts and fixed it within half an hour. Charlie was really nice and accommodating.
Should have known as McQuillan Bros first! After waiting 2 days for Roto-Rooter to show up (they did!) , we predicted McQuillan Bros and received exceptional support. The tech was here in one hour of us phoning on a Saturday evening 9pm. He clarified everything that needed to be done worked to start our drains, and told us up front how much it'd cost. Then he returned on Sunday morning to complete the job. McQuillan is highly recommended by us!
Unquestionably a fantastic experience and support that is outstanding. I totally recommend McQuillan. Came through for me when I needed a fresh hot water heater pronto - long weekend, guests on town.
I had these guys come out to replace my old trap, while the technician was here he mentioned I may want to substitute my overflow kit in my bathtub. Are up all night working I didnt catch what he supposed at 1st but he stated if he had to take action, it'd be another $600. After I went down to inspect the job I found out all he had been talking about and slept is a 30 darkening kit at any hardware store. Probably took 15 minutes, since he was able to trap. So to get also a kit and a min project I could have bought and he charged me an additional $600. I have not been angry in years. I blame this on the technician, I am going to report him. I was reimbursed by the owners and I do give them credit for helping me with the refund because there was no what their technician did. I would still recommend them for drain cleanings but beware of the quotes for replacement components.
I called in a panic because of water leaking through our ceiling and everybody was good - the person who answered the call was very professional, promised a same day visit and a return call shortly and 20 minutes later she called to say the service technician was on his way! John was fantastic - very friendly, considerate, clever and quick to figure the issue out. He gave accurate estimates for 2 different ways to fix the issue and fixed our leak. He also went above and beyond dealing with the awkward cupboard space he had to access the pipes through, and helped replace shelves that were too thick for me to handle myself. We'll definitely be calling John and McQuillan Bros at the long run for repairs and our remodel that is proposed - I highly recommend this company!
