Our toilet kept feeding water backing up in sink and the sink and has not been flushing. Before things got any worse, my husband chose to phone Roto-Rooter to come and look at our plumbing. We had a notion that water wasnt getting to the main pipe. Customer service said they would have a tech come out over the hour. Right now, Edwin (the technician ) came. He explained everything he was doing and why it was happening and worked for at least 4-5 hours on our plumbing. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Edwin cleaned up at which he was working so he did not leave our basement smelling just like sewer. He also gave us a cleaning solution shield it and to clean out the pipes. Edwin made this a fantastic experience.
Tech #2773
Because I did the last time I called them and it turns out it is in reality the bathroom paper we used had the exact same problem caused the rear up. Called at 9:45 pm on a Friday night and with in 20 mins a tech was at my door and over and hour of calling everything was finished! The technician himself was and a nice young guy quite personable smiles. . .So much this location is batting two for two with me!
What happens, we reschedule for tomorrow, and after 10 minutes of not being able to find parking you say you want to reschedule again and toss in the towel?
Yeah, I do it. And it sucks to drive in the rain. But you men promote yourselves to take on almost any job. Even in the Big City.
Stay away. I made an appointment to have a tech. He showed up nearly two hours late, then said he needed to reschedule after trying for 10 minutes, because he couldn't find parking. And it's raining. And he is tired.
Before phoning Roto-Rooter, please remember that, dear reader.
I'll find somebody else. There are other choices.
Stay.
I purchased a technician to arrive on a Saturday involving 8am-12pm at my tenants flat. The technicians didn't arrive till 3pm. The technician who performed all their job, who confessed he was in training, continued to try without understanding which levers did what and turn off the water in the flat. All the time, he walked with a cigar hanging out of his mouth round the flat. All hell broke loose when he moved back to turn the water back on. The water tank. Enter the technician who was likely to be overseeing the'technician in training'. He was sitting in the Roto Rooter truck the entire time. He apprised us that it was sediment which was causing the leakage and that they needed to snake a cable to get the sediment out (ended up not being the case). Then he told us that it was a faulty valve which would need to substituted (although not to worry - he'd provide us 25% off the replacement). This was not the issue. An individual tank said that the levers were not in their proper positions and arrived after I called our Property Management. Was switch the levers for their proper positions - .
In short, I was charged $492.79 to have a technician in training arrive three hours late with a cigar in his mouth wreak havoc by not understanding what he was doing and charging $82.28 for a $30 piece from Home Depot. When they left the flat, what should have been an hour job turned to waiting from 8am.
Big thumbs around Roto-Rooter for fixing a issue that is gross. Our bathroom in the basement backed up with tons of sewage from the city chief over the weekend. Our plumber wasn't going to be back until Wednesday although we believed we could wait until today. Even though the bathroom wasn't leaking, the smell was horrible and we decided to make the call.
They sent someone in under 2 hours. We were quoted two prices. Luckily, they did not need to (for a variety of reasons).
If our regular plumber wasn't accessible and we had an emergency, I would call them in a jiffy.
Wilner was knowledgeable and polite. The problem was fixed by him . He also gave us a bottle of drain cleaner.
The sole reason I am not giving 5 stars to them is on price. They are definitely more expensive than many plumbers I have previously used. I realize that you are paying for 24/7 availability and the brand.
Horrible experience work early to be home for somebody to repair my water heater that is broken and have been waiting for over 5 hours. This is service that is horrible that is complete and I wish I had not wasted my time calling this company and had only gotten a plumber. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY you are better off using a plumbing firm.
I had an issue with the bathtub backing up and Handsy 969 took care of the matter. He was in what had to be done, professional, courteous and very detailed. He sent pictures of the work. My only problem was the price. Rotorooter way too expensive!
Adam and Bobby from the Somerset, NJ office arrived to my house this morning to get a restoration job due to a and I must say that they were the professionals. The job they had to undertake was a big one, however it tacked with professionalism. The procedure was explained by adam and was willing to answer all of my many questions.
Since they left a difficult encounter far more bearable, I am only able to give a superb review to the aforementioned gentleman.
I will never use this company again. I got billed 575 dollars to have a faucet installed. I should have done my research first. The man went to obtain a part that has been required to finish the job and charged with an additional 100 dollars and it was later I realized that I got ripped away. Is that he did a good job but the cost was too much!!!!! Don't use these guys!!!!!
Rip Off !!After seeing and examine the work required for 2 bathrooms, I got a quote for $921.
I got exactly the same task done from a different service provider for $175.
Edwin came to also my rescue and my husband we moved into our new residence. There was a pipe broken under the sink in the kitchen plus some thing. Edwin spent much of the day I am sure lots of overtime to repair our house. He cleaned up everything and let our home glistening and 100% useable. Thank you Edwin, we'll surely call you again anytime an issue arises.
We Known as Roto Rooter to Get a clogged Toilet Lineup They wanted to perform a jet cleanining for $1600 we opted for the snake a total of 45 minute job (we cleaned up after We were charged $674 which we'd aggred to thinking it was a Two hours and Occupation Bottom line Purchase dont call roto rooter and a snake they'll root UP you
We have. The water seeps into our dinning room. Roto Rooter came and attempted to snake the drain. He was able to clear some tree roots out but did not clear the pipe that is enter out. He explained a tree crushed the pipe so the water moves through gradually. He charged $245.00 even though he did not fix the issue. I thought if they don't finish the job, they didn't charge? He really must have charged half the amount.
Quick, effective and professional service. Same-day service solved the plumbing issue and arrival. Request Claudio.
So my story gets better. After they tell me not to be concerned about anything they're going to deal with the insurance company I do not need to deal with the insurance provider they will to need to pay for everything. . The most important thing is that's not true. Before they do the work not a ballpark figure, RR never gives you a cost. They hit you with a $16,000 bill which is ridiculous I'm in the incorrect company. They slip from my home my doorway breaks. I already gave $10,000 to them my insurer paid , and they're sending me Threatening letters they gonna place a lien on my home the nerve of those. They rob jewelry out of my home they broke my doorway and they are sending letters threatening. I simply don't understand people and how they conduct a companies it is horrible you can not trust anybody they make you sign a piece of paper which they completely took advantage of that wasn't home at the time of the flood I had been away and my daughter was here he told me on the telephone he was likely to take care of everything and then he made my daughter sign a piece of paper saying they're not accountable for anything and with the bill comes out over the insurer we have to pay for it I would have never signed that. Please people when you have a flood, be aware. . .you get individuals and overwhelmed take a vantage go to the man they will choose the insurance money. And please make sure that your home and do not sign anything. They took advantage of my neighbors years old they needed to cover out-of-pocket for everything $20,000
Staten Island. When they say they will take care of everything, do not believe them.
Inspect the pipe, tie it and I went back on line and found out you can buy a camera for less than $30 from Amazon yourself, which is just what I did.
We had a huge problem: water (i.e., sewage) bubbling up next to where the main pile entered the earth. This was on the outside of the pipe, and may only signify a fracture in it. My snake was useless, although I encountered a blockage and had run a snake to the line. I called these men because they advertise plumbing services in addition to snaking lines. We figured we would have the man change that if he was out here and had a leaking water supply valve in one.
Everything about those people was made to rip off the customer. If you've poop coming up into your house, they know youwill cover anything to fix the issue and're desperate. Steer clear if you're able to. Locate an attorney. (The one we used for 20 years retired, sadly.)
Getting back into the sewage line: the technician said that fixing that line was managed by another department. They would have to send someone with a camera to find the leak and give me an estimate. A man called to schedule that trip the next day. As an aside, he told me that the cost to inspect the line with the camera could be over $700. I almost fell from my chair. But... if we had these men do the job, the inspection was free. This scam would provide them a $700 cost edge over pipes, if it was more than $700 less than RR, as the only way another plumber's cost would be lower would be.
I thought that was high. I asked him how that could solve the problem since the water came up from beyond the pipe. He said it could. My fault for thinking, however, I figured if the line was blocked possibly the backup pressure was forcing the water up into the house. It wouldn't fix the pipe, but might alleviate the problem before I got the pipe fixed.
Now, the bathroom.... The technician told us that the bathroom was very old (accurate ) and he did not have replacement parts on his van. Cost $475 to install it, buy a bathroom for us, and he wanted to go to Home Depot. We declined. On the weekend I did the repair myself and went myself, found everything I needed. Price under $20. It took me under 1/2 hour to make the repair (not including the 45 minutes to go to Home Depot and rear ). I expected around $75 to charge me to make the repair. The man wanted to sell a bathroom that I did not need to me and refused to do the job.
I googled the bathroom and discovered that it dates back to the 1950s, since the man said replacement parts were not accessible. It is regarded as a exceptional piece (mid century modern), and people are selling them for about $400 and up. This man was insistent on putting in a bathroom from Home Depot, I wonder if he wasn't intending on selling it and taking our one. Just a suspicion.
After the man gave me the invoice, I saw that there was a charge of 59 for"materials." I asked him exactly what this called, and he showed me a jar of"pipe therapy" he was likely to leave with us. I told him I did not want that, and that I had to contend with him for 10 minutes until he agreed to refund the cost of the (he had already run it on my credit card before showing me the invoice.) . He kept insisting that his quote included"all materials" but obviously this stuff wasn't needed (or used) for its snaking job, therefore I think that was completely dishonest.
Called them on a Sunday and was surprised that they had someone there over 40 minutes. That's where the experience stopped. The plumber requested my wife. He told me that if he had to take action, there would be a markup on components. He neglected to mention that the markup would be a 100%. He said that he bought the specific same faucet which we had but it was be a different style. Not happy that each time that I look in the faucet, I will be reminded that it cost me over $650 for a less than 2 hour job. Of this being the price of the components from home depot, $135. Not great in any way.
Horrible service, it is clear they don't know what they're doing and they simply want money and they will go for he priciest thing. They charged us $400 for a service they couldn't mend (how is that possible????) And another person came and could mend it less than that. How can you charge for a service you did not do?? It is better that you go out of business and make a favor to Lots of homeowners so they don't waste their cash with you
Roto Rooter was phoned up by me and they sent day, which was great to a guy. The guy changed appointment to be 3 hours ealier. No big deal. He said he couldn't locate parking and went around the block, when he came in Hoboken. He refused to attempt for parking one block over looking and the dispatcher bristled that he do. My spouse went downstairs and the guy was a real charmer, made it obvious that he was not really worried to solve OUR issue.
I had a problem with water flow from the pipe supporting my master bathroom toilet, and so I called Roto-Rooter. Turned out it was just a small escape and I had to get both my master & guest bathroom toilets replaced. Victor (Technician 1301) in Middlesex division was really professional and useful. He showed me where the problems were and gave suggestions and all of the choices to me what would be our best way to resolve them. In addition, he gave me good suggestions when we went to store and picked out the new toilets together. And he took his time and make sure everything works nicely. He even picked extra parts up so that we would not have to make numerous trips to get the task done. Highly recommended and quite happy with the service.
