I had the misfortune of working with a different firm that is the polar opposite of Marin Mechanical--I assure you having a competent, qualified, personable and infinitely skilled pipes crew that know the ins and outs of not just their radiant systems, but have enough knowledge to tease apart the slipshod work of other people makes a world of difference. Move a few things around and I called Marin in to put in a few new loops within our radiant system. They found that the installation was faulty, so that rust was occurring, the system not properly sealed and components failed, they showed me that the build up and took them off. They came out occasions as these parts failed following the significant rough pipes, always receptive, always congenial, and tuned the system where could heat the space, so that today our home is nice and toasty. If you're considering radiant or you've fallen prey to other companies and are searching to take over and fix their mess, call these men, you'll be pleased you did.

These men did it well and did a job. It was very expensive, however. They came out to check something out and charged too much for an estimate. Because the work was great, it's too bad. Realize that giving estimates is not where they will make their fortunes and they will need to unwind a bit.

We had some issues with the quantity of water dispersed throughout our newly build house and found our tankless system was too tiny. Some companies handle the heating but blamed the pipes for some issues and suggested I call a plumber then the plumber suggested when the matter couldn't be solved by them, that I call a heating firm. Really expensive and frustrating process without results. Jason out of Marin Mechanical said he built-out a tankless system that actually resembles a masterpiece compared to our system and they could manage everything. It works excellent and Jason was very attentive to following up to make adjustments in our system since we broke it in. I would always recommend him to anyone who wants to work with a person who really understands his trade.

Our radiant heating system that was initial was installed by them. They gave us a 2300 estimate when they arrived to fix it since our heat was out. They did this function, we paid up, and nothing changed... still no heat. They are now offering a $3,000 and a $7,000 quote for work. We are almost through the winter with no heat. Sayonara!

We were known to Marin Mechanical by a heat specialist in San Francisco who was retiring. We made the decision to go with radiant heat because our house is 1,000 sq. ft. and we had been enlarging to 1,500 sq. ft. but space was still at a premium and we didn't need to take up restricted wall or floor space with air ducts, or an air return, or take up space in the garage with a gas furnace and a water heater. We chose a combi-steam boiler to address both needs. It is a unit that fit on the wall at our garage. It was the ideal choice and worth the extra cash. Brendan at Marin Mechanical was quite professional and always available to deal with our concerns - even while on holiday. Brendan took care of it and we had an odd malfunction with all our Lochnivar unit and got us a brand-new unit. He's been with follow great and we expect them to be about for years to service the unit. I would strongly recommend heat for San Francisco and Marin Mechanical to do the setup and maintenance that is yearly.

My expertise with Brendan and Jason was high caliber, and I urge expertise and their work enthusiastically.

On the telephone I was after a minute of listening and could listen to him. Obviously this was a strange and very awkward experience. I wouldn't ever expect this man and he has a disparity between his public and private face.
This review is being updated by me since I found out yesterday that the $500-$800 repair he quoted me two weeks ago was totally bogus as another plumber came and was able to do test my backflow using a 90 degree fitting for $130. More reason not to trust these guys.
If you stay on the telephone when they believe the telephone is over you will hear that the proprietor swear at you, Take note and say a lot of things. I wouldn't ever expect them to be at my home. You will be deeply resented by them if you attempt to figure out a lower price solution.
These guys had been used by me 4 years ago. I tried them when I wanted help with a testing and potential of my backflow. They came out the same day and everything seemed fine until Jack called me to inform me that his original quote of $250 to go the pipe will probably be between $500-. I advised him that that was more cash if there was a way I'd like to do some of the digging work to conserve a bit of the cash and than I had been expecting to invest. I discovered he got agitated so that I said I would have to think about it but could call him back once I considered my options. I put down my headset and started working but I heard someone yelling. When I place the headset on it finishes up the proprietor Jack was talking on the telephone. I won't put down all of the things that I had been a blankity blank blank that and he said but the essence was that I had been a terrible person because I had been trying to spend less.

These guys are rock stars! My boiler crapped out last night and I ended up"cold" calling MM with no hot water. Jack delivered Brendan to my house by 8:30 am and was responsive. Brendan knew the details of my gear and solved numerous serious issues. Bottom line is happy.

I called and made an appointment to get my house inspected for heating restoration.
Didn't complete the job.
"yeah find somebody else if you believe that they can do a better job. I really don't have enough time to talk on the telephone that I gotta go".
He advocated a new pump and pumps and that I only had those inspected and working correctly a few months ago. He made a few fix and I'm without hot water at the house for 2+ days.
