Fantastic customer service and quick response time! Chris and tammy are awesome. My HVAC broke recently and they came to fix it in a timely way. Everyone I dealt with was useful and professional!

Scheduled 2 HVAC check ups to get a Sat 12-4 window. I CALLED Friday PM & Saturday AM to confirm. Nicely at noon the dispatch shuts down and you need to expect you are called by tech back. Yeah, Sunday waiting and nite. Guess. Their loss like I have my possessions to be managed at by 10 HVAC components.
If they try to make up for my Sat afternoon, will update.

I gave this provider so many chances to correct their wrongs and after a painful experience that was way below my expectations and a severe shortage of professionalism (took 2x as long as promised, job was not finished AT ALL until they left, they left garbage and windows open, drove through my bud, also broke our storm door), I was given a opportunity to express the difficulties to some service restoration agent. The end outcome after dialogue and multiple calls was supposed to give a $50 visa gift card to me. What a complete joke. I know that the Home Depot financing will create this business tempting but it might be worth taking out home equity or honestly putting it on a charge card if you can not swing it in money. This is and I will make certain to tell anyone HVAC is discussed by me with to stay far away from them. I should have been imputed money on the project but instead was awarded a $50 gift card (It was a $6K job). Never again! Inform them to Home Depot too.
Putting this review on both of their webpages so that it hopefully is seen from the correct audience...

The tech was equipped and competent to acquire the cool air blowing. I was having issues and wanted to install a Nest but he wasn't able to do this though McCarthy is a Nest Professional. Now I wanted air. I ended up having to purchase a comparatively basic Honeywell thermostat from him for an enormously large markup cost (I googled the market rate for the same thermostat once he left). My issue was solved and he didn't leave until after 11pm. This is not the end. The following day I obtained no less that FIVE calls from McCarthy Services to reschedule my missed appointment from the day before... but I didn't have a missed appointment. It's very common for them to just not show up that they didn't even know I already had my own appointment. Please do not bother using them at a time when you're in demand for providers, McCarthy's uncontrolled disorganization definitely makes the stress worse.
Don't trust the Google testimonials that are positive - I wish I'd read these Yelp testimonials before calling McCarthy Services. I called through a next day appointment, after hours attempting to earn. I was advised by the operator somebody would call me from the office in the morning. No one called and I was advised that none of my advice was in the system once I reached out to them. Ok, fine... So I gave them all my advice for a 2nd time. The operator looked incapable of giving a consultation window that looked strange for this kind of business to me. After being placed on hold several times and providing my advice I was given an appointment for sometime between 8pm and 4pm. I left work to earn house and started my wait in an AC'condominium that was less - a FIVE HOURS WAIT! The tech was supposed to call 30mins before their birth and by 7:15pm I'd heard nothing. Between 7:15pm and 8:35pm I phoned 3 times and spoke with 3 operators, none of whom would access my appointment advice so guess what... I gave 3 of them my advice making that 6 times with this 1 appointment. They all said they'd give my advice and have them call me asap. I didn't get a call from anyone therefore my 4pm-8pm window turned to some 9:30 pm appointment until 8:50 pm saying he would arrive in 35mins.

I phoned again to get another tech. The coordinator explained since the tech didn't help me it would be free. The coordinator promised the fee could be waived. I had been scheduled for a two hour window. The next tech called last minute to let me understand that this service wouldn't be free and that he would have to reschedule. He pushed to come the next day. I told him I had prior obligations. What he exclaimed,"WHY?!"
Will not be using them.
Recently moved to the area and called McCarthy Services to help me with my plumbing problems. According to the coordinator, the diagnostic is totally free. The initial technician came over and tried to help me with my home. He had been polite but didn't correct the matter. He did hear what I tried to describe to him. He gave me a solution to buy to help my pipes' name. Went to Home Depot and Lowes and nobody could find it.

And on that day that they delivered another technician, not the one, which technician appeared to be a newcomer. And sure enough, several hours later he abandoned it became clear the machine does struggle to reach the setting, it cools the air AT ALL, along with the temperatures pretty much matches the exterior.
To boot, technicians frequently are inclined to be late, ignore the directions to NOT use the call box, and one of these didn't even know exactly what a key fob is. Ridiculously incompetent. We will do our best to convince our landlord to dismantle the entire system AGAIN and this time use the company of OUR choice based on reviews, though we have yet to ask McCarthy exactly what the hell happened and choose whether to give them one last chance or not.
We asked McCarthy to explore, and they sent one technician that was incompetent to us after the other, all which stated that the machine is working as it should. Another unattached that thermostat, and also one of these replaced the thermostat rather than showed up promised before we complained and called them to reattach it.
When our AC system stopped giving air that was cool, our landlord named McCarthy to look to it, and they said we need to replace the machine, they did. As a result, the air did get cooler, but it struggled to get to the setting on the thermostat and never turned off, working night and day with the exception of times once the temperature was matched by the setting outside anyway on warmer nights.

Called to make an appointment for AC tuneup. Had a window. Nobody showed up. They said they had no record of an appointment scheduled for my house when I called. Waste of time. There are a lot more responsive and dependable companies in the region.

I suppose this contributes to a bias - technicians that are ready stretch the truth and to control customers probably are conscientious or lower-than-average in ability or do not have job choices.
The JiffyLube model of getting have a tech tell you things that are expensive and then sales would be to get you into the door with discounts require replacement.
Today, you get the exact same tech. It seems they have not been around for long or most of their technicians are not full-time McCarthy workers . This usually means a large variability in quality. We always get a laugh if a plumber or plumber comes out, looks at something which needs repair, and states"this was installed all wrong!" . Often it was somebody from McCarthy that installed it.
I have used McCarthy to the previous ten years. At about 4/5, I'd have rated them in the first years. They are at 2/5 and I finally decided to change. The have become too much like JiffyLube.
I'd really like to find the tech training manual - I expect it to say"Always needs replacement: Anything dirty, anything near average life, anything not working since it needs a $10 capacitor".
However, with the arrangement comes telephone calls telling you which you are due for a review. Should you ignore the telephone call or tell them you do not need it another week till later they call. And a costly repair that needs to be done is consistently found by the inspector _. (They have been telling me that my heat pump is in urgent need of replacement for five years.)
Their inspection agreements which include support discounts are pushed by mcCarthy. The agreements are about $200 and are worth the price. For instance, a $2000 bill would be $1600 if you have the arrangement. If you do not have the arrangement, the tech will allow you to purchase it after he shows you that the last bill and then your own $2000 charge is $1800. He'll even tell you"technically, I am not supposed to do so".

They told me I had a new AC system and I went the rest of the summertime. The following summer I got an estimate by somebody else and all I had was a part and been up and running ever since.

I strongly recommend not to use McCarthy Services, you will be disappointed. I've spent countless hours on the phone as well as time spent searching for technicians or managers to return my calls. The HVAC unit is a lemon or the technicians have in diagnosing/correcting problems zero skill. In any event, McCarthy Services is not a business you can trust.
I would not recommend this company. I bought a new unit and have had 5 support calls since this time. My warmth stopped working this winter, which caused a component needing to be substituted within this brand new unit. My AC has stopped working three individual times and every time the technician assured me it had been mended, yet it is still 80 degrees inside. I've tried to talk to a manager on three occasions and was told every time they had been at a meeting and would call me back, I'm still waiting. No one can schedule a follow-up appointment although apparently, part was arranged for my unit in order to revive my AC and today told me the notes say it had been installed already. I cannot explain the quantity of frustration I have with McCarthy Services and am impressed by the lack of professionalism and courtesy that their company lacks.

Do not use McCarthy! They do not honor their own guarantee. Bought heating pump system & a brand new air conditioner 6 decades back and paid extra for the 10 yr warranty. The system went outside this weekend and we were told they would not honor the guarantee, the manager was rude and refused to honor it.
There are many companies out there to select from, don't use sells you a warranty then, doesn't honor it!

AWFUL!!!!! They didn't appear for my first appointment - they attracted an HVAC tech instead of a plumber for my second appointment and after waiting over 5 hours for my next appointment I cheated - I'm convinced my employer enjoys me today for taking so much time from work!!! Word to the wise, never use this company!!!!!!!

Do NOT use this business!!!!
I've had an agency contract with McCarthy. The A/C begins to have problems, they tell me and send out a guy there is some sort of freon flow. It is a system. . .so I receive an estimate for a carrier a/c with furnace, comes out to $8600 with"Discounts". That sounds a little steep so I phoned them up and told them to place a"dip" about the install while I receive more quotes. I phoned three companies which are A rated on Angie's List, and I showed them the quote from McCarthy. I asked for quotations about the exact models. The cheapest was the greatest was $6600. McCarthy sends out a complete team to perform the install even though it had been cancelled by me while I'm getting quotes. My wife sent the team away, and I called a manager to be talked to by McCarthy. He asks me to give him a few hours to determine what happened before I start posting this stuff on social media and Yelp. I say sure, have at it. 90 minutes later he calls and says I'm not certain what to tell you...I get why you are mad and I would be also. I understand although I hope you don't post this on websites that is social. I asked him why they'd try to rip a long-term client off and he had no answer apologized.
Total scam artists. . .do NOT use this company.
Translation. . .we tried to rip off you and you caught us.

I will keep this review simple. Our pump stopped working causing water to flow. I had to travel for work the following morning and was not able to perform my regular research so I phoned McCarthy's who installed this system before I purchased the house. They charged us $400 to put in a $46 condensate pump. Took them 20 minutes to install. The setup crew was professional, however, it was clear they make the most of our situation. I will not be using McCarthy's again.

Had an appointment set up using a 4 hr window that I took off work for. I called to see what amount on the sequence of calls I had been and I couldn't be told by them. No problem show up within that 4 hr window like they said they'd. 5 Hrs later no call to tell me that they wouldn't be coming and when I called them they could just take my number down and have a technician call me at some later point (meaning tomorrow) to clarify why they didn't show up. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE that charge you business from me and my 143 Condo neighbors who undergo HVAC checkup.
You may readily observe a company's sincerity by their use of cut responses this firm has given to reviews of customers. They do not even have the dignity to personally reply to them, rather they use insincere responses. HORRIBLE.

Had McCarthy Services substitute back evaporator coil and an A/C unit in 2006. Although I obtained a good deal at that time, it did come with a price. I signed up a contract with R410a refrigerant to get a 13 SEER unit, but ended up receiving a 12 SEER unit with R22 refrigerant. Now I'm in the market for a replacement of the entire HVAC system quotes all pointed to the evaporator coil installation that is horrible and botched. The main reason for replacing the entire unit has been a flow in refrigerant for the past 3 years which has demanded a recharge each year, in addition to the cooling because the A/C unit's installation 12 decades back.
I'd steer clear of this establishment; their installation work merchandise is dreadful about what they will deliver, and they lie.

When my furnace stopped operating after a winter checkup my one issue was. (that was last year) I called McCarthy and they were nice enough to send out a technician the next day. He said it had been my thermostat and diagnosed the issue. He had one in the truck. He brought it in and explained that it would be 400 bucks. So I looked the model up on the internet, I had my phone on me. This is a thermostat from Home Depot. He wanted to charge me $300 for $100 and the part to put it in.
I told him. He seemed rather annoyed. I went out and bought myself to one to put in. Took me about 15 minutes for installation. The two test ups I had from McCarthy the technicians said my furnace and inquired that installed it. I inquired if there was a problem with it. They said they wanted to know who set up it. That was significant unsure. . .maybe it's in the notes about my house. Won't be using them.
Technician came out that made us uneasy to operate with. 1st commenting on why we'd schedule such a late appointment which he had to drive all the way from Maryland. He was not able to provide a cost for the repair job to us but said he thought it could be around 600 bucks. When we called him there was a muffled telephone call and which was hard to understand and we were informed he was leaving on vacation. He called back a minute later and was put together. We informed him we would work directly with his office and he must enjoy his vacation.
I'm disappointed as we've had good luck with additional McCarthy 17, to say the least. A few bad apples.
We informed them that we did not wish to utilize the technician 19, when McCarthy was called by us. Then asked for a quote about the Furnace Draft Inducer. They asked if they could call us back. 10 minutes after the technician called us. He informed us he is a supervisor and we had to work with him. Then he quoted us $2,000.00 for the repair. $1,800 for $200 and the part for labor. This is 3x the purchase price of his original figure and much more 12x what I can find the part for online.

My HVAC system was bought by me it is still under warranty but I can not get anybody out here to fix it.
The gentleman came after 8 pm but did not have enough time to repair it. Absolutely first thing this morning a few will be out here since he couldn't mend it. I call at 9 am and I'm told that the repair person is going to be than 12:30. I said today should have been very first thing today. She says, well yeah...I don't know what happened. My problem...I'm UNDER WARRANTY they won't make a good deal of money off me. They've no honor. Since type ARS purchase, just stay away.
They use to be good and you'll get a boat load of explanations.

They wasted my day. Set up an appointment. Never show up. No known until I called them. Before coming outside, then they wanted cash. Never again. Don't try this services.

I recently had a 5 yr old Ameristar HVAC go out on my rental property. (Don't ever purchase Ameristar). Rather than needing continuing problems and expenditure, I reluctantly decided to replace the unit. Home Advisor called McCarthy and they arrived the following day at the time. Jeramy listened to my needs we replaced the unit using a 3ton Carrier for $8500 (not cheap). I did not have $8500 money so they organized financing within 5 minutes. The following day the HVAC was installed.
I was really satisfied. We'll see how the followup service will be.
