Cahill has a customer for life. Worth every cent!
Trust is what! No BS wsuperb service and / Cahill.
AC went out (again) and Cahill's team squeezed me to get a service call. Compressor needed and was taken replacement. Tim, salesman, did not try and upsell me to something Troy, technician, was a straight shooter and I did not need.
Beautifully! The plumber (on schedule) came to resolve the problem. He suggested we purchase our own faucet, so we can opt for a style we enjoyed. After we had the part in hand, we predicted to specify a time for installation. We had no difficulty setting a convenient time. On the afternoon of the installation, the plumber had stated when he would come ("between 10 and 2"). Early in the day he called as another job was running longer than anticipated to say hello could be a bit late.
He predicted when he had been on his way--still inside the time schedule. He did the job in a neat way. After he was done he cleaned up, including taking the box and the part from the part, and explained the manufacturer's warranty. We paid him and he abandoned. The faucet is working fine.
I can't say enough good things. They correctly diagnosed a sewer issue that two other businesses missed. They're fair and clear about pricing. I've worked a lot with Scott, that treats my house as if it were his very own - assisting me not only with fixing problems, but preventing them later on.
I recently had a frustrating experience with a business in a different line of work, and it reminded me how precious it really is when you find a pleasure to perform with and a reputable company that isn't fair, although only capable.
John Cahill rodding throughout our basin and and we talked a few times about tree roots. A few worries were but we were going to begin with rodding and not have to get to the expensive $ 7k option. The rodding itself would cost approximately $600. We'd only have to cover labour, if we had to perform the option. Well guess what - the rodding functioned - WONDERFUL. And all of a sudden I receive a $1065 bill. 2 men for 2.5 hours and a $65 system... these men make $250/hour? He changed the cost because there was no more option that was lucrative $ 7k. I should have listened. I went local company to encourage Evanston but experiences like this will make him turn away and not recommend him to anybody. I never review but was angry after this encounter, felt it was essential to save others time and energy. This type of pricing scheme that is unfair is never acceptable.
I called them to see if they can do some tile work that was minor, I sent them pictures to save a trip. Kristi Cahill gave a written quote and stated the job appears regular. There motto seems to be"we've been around a long time". Another representative called Randy Hunt followed 2 weeks later, said the project was easy as well, BUT upped they price by 35% due to"logistics". I had the task done with supplies by another builder to get a total of 40% of their price= STAY AWAY!
Cahill was recommended because of their experience in our buildings quirks. The guys at our place's work was good as usual but we had some office problems which were uncharacteristic. Confusion and bad communication this time around but the guys did quality work. UPDATE: you were super nice and made an adjustment that has been fair.
.DO NOT employ this plumbing company. John J. is impolite, nasty, and it required numerous connections to him for a license to be dragged and and above 3 weeks to get an inspection of a hot water heater that he installed for my condo. The experience was horrible and he doesn't behave in any manner. His business was established years back but that means little to the consumer today. I've not ever encountered a builder with such difficulty obtaining a license, complains about its price and"$40 for parking " REALLY?? It'd be laughable, if it wasn't so sad. The license that he pulled cost all of $75. Consequently, if you would like an entirely aggravating experience for something as straightforward as a hot water heater replacement hire this man. If you'd like something different, look for a respectable plumbing company., NOT THIS ONE. EVER.
John J Cahill saved me on a few of the most hottest and days of the year. They came and washed my condensing unit out and assessed freon levels which did the trick. The tech said I need to call for a clean and test every season to avoid a build up of dust and these cottonwood things.
I had the sewer. In breaking through the street the 2 men who did the job were comprehensive. They took their time to clear every obstacle out.
And I had 2 and the ejector pump. The two technicians that did this work did. I'm very satisfied with the competence and honesty of the people working for John J. Cahill.
The CO sensors went off at 2am. We had toxic levels of CO. If a 5 year old child had not awakened from the alarm, we all would be dead. For serious.
We're looking into legal actions against this company that is unprofessional, disreputable, and ridiculous. I would not expect their work with your loved ones, and I would not trust your bank accounts for their billing. You will regret it.
Cahill had ignored the reality that our boiler was busted.
Our course of actions is that the BBB
We'd used Cahill for many years at our construction to service hot water heater and our boiler. We asked because the boiler had overflowed Cahill to emerge, one day. They (mis)recognized the issue, but completely ignored a gigantic (and exceptionally obvious) issue that turned out to be somewhat dangerous. The boiler was cracked.
We called another boiler service company that replaced the boiler (for half what we had been quoted over the phone from Cahill (they would not even come out to estimate a $25K-$40K job! (Thank you, Steam Whisperer).
The Cahill service visit was contested by us since they had missed the issue, and had left our construction in a condition, and were told over the phone we didn't have to pay it-that it should be ignored by us. They'd delete the bill in their machine. Strangely, the bill wound up in collections. We called to complain, however, Cahill said that since it was in collections, it was out of our hand.
It's been a client for 20 decades. . .but no longer! My past experience was the final straw although they have always been expensive. I had a part for a faucet that Cahill had installed in 2001. I signaled the faucet for and address and sent the vendor name. After sending several images, I was advised that a plumber needed to come to my house ($95) to dismantle my great faucet to assess the stem (part that I needed) and reassemble the faucet at $180/hour! What!! I ordered the replacement myself and discovered the faucet on the vendor website. Why couldn't Cahill do this??? Who knows. . .but they've lost a loyal client.
Do not under any circumstances hire Cahill!!!! Hired them to fix a broken bathroom. They said it was repaired and billed me $150. Two days after the bathroom is broken and invest another $100 to fix and I had to hire someone else. And they blamed the client , me, and refused to make it appropriate, when I whined to Cahill. They're unprofessional and rude. Never again.

They include a union cost, but they're one of the most pipes in the Chicago area. The job results have been nothing but a +. John J Jr. and his crew come with the best knowledge in pipes. I will continue to utilize them.
I have used Cahill for the previous thirteen years but will not again. We had been charged 30 minutes that included the time the plumber chose to write up the trip , in his own truck! Plus it was more like 20 minutes even with the excursion to his own truck. When we asked him about it, he told us that Mr. Cahill said they needed to write everything up at the truck. He was not apologetic about this. It's a dreadful policy and non-refundable client service.
This is one helluva company. I did a *big gut renovation of my very old quirky, very tiny kitchen, and they did amazing, excellent work. Yes, it cost an arm and a leg, but will continue for fifty decades or longer. And it actually was a total a gut occupation - - - ripping down walls, patching plaster, redoing electrical function, refinishing the original white bamboo flooring (covered under stick-on plastic tiles, cheap laminate, 1950's linoleum, and a thick coating of adhesive - - a *nightmare*), installing a new cooker, dishwasher, and new cabinets, countertops, etc.. It was a lot.
They never don't send guys, which frankly, actually matters. They are coming into your haven, your house, your area, and a woman alone I never felt anything they sent out.
Concerning plumbing, they've always sent out someone precisely the exact same day that I called, even before I went and spent an arm and a leg on a kitchen renovation (so that you know there's no special remedy there!) . For example, last night, my one-and-only bathroom went on the fritz , I called up at 8AM, and they sent out a plumber by 10:45AM. Bam!
Craftsmen and Each of the workers who came to work in my kitchen were kind, agreeable, attentive, and clean! Barefoot could walk in the job place, it was so clean! They're also trustworthy. I moved out of town for a week while they started the demolition procedure, and wasn't nervous at all. Joe the carpenter in particular was wonderful. Smart, conscientious, and very great. What more can you ask for?
If some of you're curious regarding the before/after pictures, just ask me and I'd be delighted to send your own way to them. They are impressive. Really.
If you're seeking to perform renovations, I would recommend Cahill. Yes, they are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Their suppliers are known by them personally, can get you the best deal possible for that which you're searching for, and they do work that is heirloom-quality. Can not talk highly enough of these!
Contractor Pat Kelly was great at walking me through the steps of redesigning my 7' x 8' kitchen, from taking down to picking the ideal kind of cabinets out a false wall. He was communicating with me, and as a girl, I never felt I was treated by him like a second class citizen. He was very patient, that was useful since I spent so much cash! I can find a bit panicky.
I had some work done, and paid the complete quantity of the bill. They claimed that the plumber's math was bad, and they needed money. I said, I paid what you billed me, I shouldn't need to pay some more. They have me on a list that they won't conduct business with me , because paying the complete amount of their bill wasn't enough for them.
We had them to come a long time to fix a sink sprayer. They did not actually fix the sprayer. The next time they brought the wrong part. Every time the wait (without a working kitchen sink!) Was about a week or two. We also called and complained and were told"maybe you aren't the customers we ought to work with." The parts guy at Cahill couldn't appear to determine the right role as he"worked directly with the producer, Delta" and eventually called to inform us a blatant lie that the component did not exist, but they'd be delighted to help us put in a whole new faucet. I will NEVER work with Cahill as they've shown their untrustworthiness that is whole.
The more I think about it,the more I think they screwed my mother over. Had to phone them once I had been there and stepped in her basement right into a fair amount of sewer water. Charge was $495 after hours, but mother was panicking & we had been given fair notice that was the price. Plumber was a great guy and everything. Squawk there.
However a week after a recurrence was leaking. Plumber came back-he guessed something else did a mining. Happily there were not any issues, and at one point he pretty much admitted he hadn't gone that the 1st time around. He comped the movie and the rerodding, but billed her at $145/hr for 3 hours of work. That since the job was not done right the first time should have be uncharged. Right?
Service from everybody in the business from the moment you call about a problem, scheduling appointments, plumbers dong the work and paying the bill. Everyone at this business is helpful and really accommodating!
Excellent business! Fast, responsive, professional, comprehensive, polite. Probably a bit more expensive than other options, but worth it for your own value and trust. A+
