Our Wolf oven was installed by ryan this past year. . .he was professional and we're very pleased with Big Blue Pipes. Thank you Big Blue!

As good as it gets and then some!!!!!
Great service!!!! Honest!!!! Highly recommend Big Blue: Donna is on top of everything. Ryan is working, conscientious and competent.

Summary: Plumbers were late, first verbal ballpark was 3-7 hours. Owner and accused me, and the 2 plumbers at my house pressured me to pay $1800 on the spot by check, with no sort of paper trail or invoice. Had to call three times to get. Called us Monday am to harass us about an invoice they delivered Friday afternoon. I've dealt with lots of contractors before, but this was an organization that was mismanaged and incredibly shady.
So I can be there while they work, I work from home. One of the two plumbers shows up at 11:40am and the other one shows up at noon. Still, not a huge deal, I am home all day.
They start talking payment and end up. Now, this is a company that accepts credit cards, they market this on their website, we paid them by credit card for the first consultation, plus they spent far less time (9 plumber hours instead of 12-16) than we were originally told. So I have some concerns.
Subsequently, to his credit, Kevin does state"Okay, what do you think is reasonable to pay?" The issue is, I don't have any clue. I don't know what they bill per hour, I've never noticed a breakdown of services, I have nothing to go on here. I only said"I don't know what is fair" that doesn't seem to be helping my"I really DO want to pay you, but maybe not $1800 on the spot with no sort of paper trail" debate. Kevin's pressuring me to a lopsided on the spot negotiation so he can get my credit card information. It uncomfortable.
I call on Monday requesting an invoice. They say they will get me. I call on requesting an invoice, they say they will get me one on Thursday. I call again asking.
Two stars because the job itself was fine (edit: Downgraded to 1 star. They ruined the seal on our tub so the kitchen ceiling escapes once we shower... Yeah, not good.) Authorities and payment turned into a nightmare!
Now I'm working out on my porch with this man's telephone, the plumbers are staring by their truck with a combo of worry/anger at me, I am sure they think I am some deadbeat.
One of the plumbers calls up his boss says"she is saying she doesn't want to pay," hands his telephone to me, and today I am talking to Kevin, the owner of the company. Kevin worries me into paying the $1800 by check, then says he'll accept a credit card as well. I say"well, you know, I want to see some paperwork, so I was never delivered a quote, we had been told 6-8 hours with just two pipes..." He says"what, you are not going to pay?" And"My guys did the job and I only want to be certain my guys get paid!" Of needing to pay basically accusing me.
One of the girls (I think her name was Jenn) really said"Listen, once I had any work done on my house, it had been only a few guys in a truck! I paid them and I didn't even get an invoice!" Like, okay, Thank you for telling me this story. Now can you send me the invoice I had been told I went to get?
Finally only got the invoice, for $1,194.66 (with a"due" date which says two weeks past!?) . I really don't wish to speak to these individuals again. Expecting it can be handled online and we do not have to deal with them.
My husband advised appointment and the consultation for replacing a leaking pipe. That was 195, and he had been given a verbal ballpark of $1800. Okay, sounds great. He spoke to Donna and was told that a formal quote would be emailed for our review. The quote was never delivered (I didn't know this at the time... husband had been organizing things up for this stage )
The Friday call is a wreck. Donna believes that Kevin sent it, Kevin believes that Donna routed it can't access work records. Finally, I figure out that the invoice is apparently around $1200 (not the 1800 Kevin attempted to get me to pay) and the pipes had inflated their hours from 9 to 10 hours. They're perplexed as to why I am mad about this, and their lack of professionalism.
Edit: Apparently they do not check email. Paid the a******s. Good riddance.
Kevin says that he can't send any sort of invoice to me because the office is closed. Hence the workplace is closed to offer any records or quotations or information about the tasks, but not closed enough that you can't harass people on the telephone for payment? Okay.

Plumber didnt understand a block of timber along with the difference between a baseboard heater. Very frustrating to handle and was completely stiff. I wanted 1/2" cut off the drain for the vanity to match and he refused to perform it. I asked him to leave. Heard great things around. I was quoted $115/hr plus it was an 8 hour occupation - that seemed like a great deal of time to replace a bathroom sink. Upon arrival they offered nearly $1300. Loopy math to me.

I appreciate that they picked the phone up and gave a quick follow up call. Not impressed with the quotation.
I knew what had to be done and have the abilities to take action but looked to avoid the hassle. Big Blue quoted $380 for 3 hours labor and the component number at $110/hr to set up, plus another 20% part mark-up to get a total estimate of $780. It actually was a 1 hour project for a pro and the part is available on the internet. They were polite but sorry $380 is what"our regional supplier charges" and who knows perhaps we'll finish . I guess a 110/hr isn't enough. Anyhow, bought the area and did to the job in 2 hours.

Called Big Blue that am and could barely get out my story before I was told rudely nothing is going to happen today'.... I answered thank you and hung up on the rude customer support....on to the next plumber

Measure Up: I hired that summer Large Blue to replace my furnace and water heater and they did a wonderful job!! They put in an indirect water heater and a great furnace and the cost was reasonable based on different quotes I received from other pipes. Now we have loads of water and the warmth seems to function better, very silent and even heat distribution.
This really is a delayed review of support I purchased in February of 2014 from Large Blue; my gas boiler went out to a Friday of one of the coldest days of the year and This was the very terrible winter we all recall. I couldn't get everyone to come out to look at my boiler; Big Blue replaced the igniter and did come out Saturday. It wasn't a job for showing up when no one else would!!!, but they get 5 stars

I'm going to Begin with All the Advantages, and there are many:Now for a couple. Immediately on the ground of my cellar, beneath the joints of this PVC piping, is caked on pipe epoxy. It is unsightly and doesn't appear to be readily removable. Some are just blotches. Some are lines of it 8-10 inches across the ground. This is apart from the water stains out of the pipe escape. I can shoot pictures as needed. It appears that Josh and Bill might haven't used a drop cloth when they had been functioning in the cellar.
Overall, if they can address these difficulties I'm still pleased, and hope to provide them another celebrity in the future. They will need to take cleanup measures not only livable spaces, although I consider them my go-to plumbing support.

The 1895 quote given to me at the onset of the project was essentially exactly what the invoice was. I expected a more detailed breakdown of the exact cost of what I paid for, although That is a good. There was just 1 line item on the invoice with a very simple description of this project and the cost. At the minimum, I anticipate a labour breakdown, for example an hourly rate, and a list of parts and their prices. I did some prep work in their behalf, which comprised carefully removing built-in shelves (for after reassembly) and cutting exploratory holes to precisely find the questionable pipe and some other adjacent electrical wiring, in order that they could gain access to the necessary regions without the extra labour of doing that themselves. But that seemed to have no impact on the invoice despite giving them an hour head start on the project.
I met with Kevin, that had been respectful and professional. I enjoyed dealing with himand he was with getting me back fairly prompt. Communication is important and it is known by those guys! The men he sent , Bill and Josh, were courteous and professional. Their job was to replace a cast iron drain and vent stack with new PVC, since the old drain had been leaking. They needed to disassemble a lazy Susan in my kitchen cabinet to get a specific pipe, but at the end of the project, it had been fully reassembled like no one had ever been in there. Wall cutting was maintained by them and cleaned up after themselves, at least. So far so great.

We had an excellent experience with Kevin and Big Blue when they installed our new boiler. They have been informative, polite, thoughtful and conscientious. They went over and beyond in their support if it came to the install and worked with us to help us select the ideal system. We would definitely suggest these technicians for almost any boiler/heating work.

We have called on BBPH for a few tasks today (plumbing/water leak problem, heating dilemma, water tank/heater replacement), and also have had pleasant experiences. Reliable, prompt, clear communication, could call on them again.

Plumbing support that was best I have found in the Boston area. Very transparent, down to suggesting that work isn't required that I had asked about though it might make them cash. Punctual and give realistic estimates.
Couldn't recommend more highly...
Never had a bad experience in the 4-5 jobs I have had them do out of servicing air components, repairing a faucet for my spa, substituting water heaters and installing a gas drier.

Update - they called and followed us up and clarified the model - that is at a minimum of 1 hour of support. Also about the recommendation they were clearer on this call and offered a discount on the second visit. Service on the follow up was amazing.

I walked the image of my problem over to my local hardware store, where the plumber sold me a roll of silicone rescue tape for $10. I fixed my problem, cutting off the tape and then re-sealing the attachment with the silicone rescue tape, in under 10 minutes.
Donna asked me to send a picture of the leak (a hose had been duct taped to a pipe, and that was leaking). I did. She then explained that her men said the film was very useful, and it would take them 3-4 hours to mend at $95/hour, and.
I can not think these men could have charged me. Do not trust them.
I was frustrated with Big Blue Plumbing & Heating. I read the reviews on Yelp had a leak in my basement, and gave a call to them.

Best Experience!
Proceed with Kumar to replace your water heater!
Big Blue Plumbing substituted my water heater. Very effective service and quality work. I emailed to get a quote. I touch base with Donna who was really fast for getting a screening appointment scheduled and emailed BBP when I saw it was reasonable. Kevin (proprietor ) personally came out to make sure the work was doable. He pointed out exactly what plumbers never whined about the near working conditions and must have done. Would highly suggest Kumar and his work because he is an expert in this water heater business. I was charged exactly what had a great encounter with Large Blue and was quoted.

Where the problem is, I explained carefully over the phone and had a sump pump issue. I had been told it would take 3-5 hours for them to repair. The man says it is for a landscaping business and shows up and neglects the job. Even though I had explained over the phone what the problem was, he had been disrespectful and kept muttering about work sequence. I must have given up then but chose to get him look at a leak in the shower. His response is the fact that it seemed someone had worked on it and so he could do so. Now, we needed to quit and request him to leave and he begins demanding money or attempting.
Afterwards, the owner realized that he has a employee and sent a written apology using a gift card. This was very nice and professional at the other end of the spectrum. The owner obviously cares that matters are fair and done nicely. Regrettably, there are employees and I presume this is the Yelp evaluations are either 1 star or 5 stars. I'll take the typical, to be honest.
Initially terrible but problem somewhat resolved...

**Update**They're awful. Turns out they fixed my bathroom. Just had to call a different plumber out since (once again) my bathroom would not stop running. He started the tank and said,"well, here's your problem. Did you have your bathroom rebuilt? I said, yes....about a year ago. He said, whomever did so should have their plumbing permit revoked!" They didn't trim the trap primer inducing syphonage. My bathroom has been running BECAUSE of the shoddy work that Big Blue Plumbing did.
They did come out quickly and fixed my problem immediately - in under 10 minutes I had been billed a ridiculous amount to change a flapper out. That's it.
When I called to dispute the exact amount on the bill - the woman said I would have to pay the hourly rate and parts and was understanding - however the new bill reflected greater than what we agreed upon. When I asked her about that, she didn't wish to hear it said basically that she had been correct and I was wrong. We remember things differently. All I know, is that a tech was at my house in and out under 10 minutes (including the time he chose to utilize my bathroom for personal reasons) and I was charged almost $200.

They were quick and my problem was fixed by them I would not recommend.

Used them for s clogged sink. First, they attempted to used a forced air machine but it was not any good. They subcontracted out to another seller and snaked it. The subcontractor was annoyed unpleasant and complained like I really could have something regarding the issue, how my plumbing system is not sufficient. He seemed to hate life and stated any inadequacy was because my plumbing system sucks and 15 minutes he finally snaked it. Because he had a piss poor attitude, didn't tip him. Cost me $300. Would I use them ??? I don't know, he did fix it, and the charge was that the higher end of this scale. . .but he mended it.

BB came in to install a new water heater after the older one was out and we discovered a problem. BB fixed the issue themselves, got the OK from their office and delivered a plumber to assist! They hustled to get it done in an afternoon, let me chose what happened and let me know exactly what exactly was going on the entire time. It turned out more expensive but they coped with several unforeseen issues and put in effort and extra time to get everything done in one day. I had been pleased to pay a tiny bit longer and have the entire thing taken care of. Hard to ask for the install and more was great!

Last week, I used their service for the very first time. They sent my garbage disposal to be replaced by Sean. He did a fantastic job and showed up on time. I inquired what he thought about his organization and that he said he felt"blessed" to make use of such a fantastic business and that he had a great boss too. That is nice to hear nowadays. If I want anything, I will use them again.

About installing toilet safety rails in my 15, I talked to Josh. I explained I was having surgery in 4 weeks and wanted to have the safety rails installed before my operation date. Josh was quite nice - reassured me that he would get it done for me- he assured me that he'd call me within a week. Excellent!! Welll....THREE weeks and no phone call so I called him. If he was honest and told me he whined - fine. But he gives me this song and dance about the plumbing supply store being out of stock on safety rails. Can you say BULLSHIT, Josh??? I phoned another plumber who had been at my house the next day - finished the job.
Note to Josh - in case you do not want or have enough time to do the work - BE HONEST about it. There are loads of other plumbers out there who can use the work, no matter how small the job.
