6:30 AM: Fire department arrives in gear. They shut off the gas and water valves into the heater.
3:11 PM: The job is complete! Pete comes upstairs and we talk what occurred. In the conclusion, he asks me. He felt awful for trekking snow and cleaned up after himself. How nice and very unexpected! Then he also showed me why the water was not coming out of my faucet in the bathroom (turns out it gets all of gunky over time -- I saw him clean it out, so now I understand that I can regularly clean out my faucets without any issues!) .
6:40 AM: I frantically Google"Emergency plumbing Boston" (which has been actually it) and I called the first number which popped up.
8:30 AM: Pete arrives on time!
I am happy with Abacus. I'll definitely be giving a call to Pete, if I have more plumbing job to be done!
10:10 AM information. The water destroyed the power blower Even though the piping is repaired. We must reevaluate Choice 2. Originally he said he would do option 1, and if that didn't work due to the power mill, that he'd take off the price for that option but would nevertheless add it into the price. It was a risk I was prepared to take. To my utter relief, and luckily, he took off that price entirely and did the job for just the option cost. He said to me ALL of my choices and a decision is made by us.
6:23:01 AM: I have been here for just over 2 months, call the fire department because I'm a first time homeowner, and am totally freaked out. I don't have any idea where the water shut off valve is (note to self: be prepared in emergency scenarios about crap like this).
6:41 AM: I call Abacus Plumbing. Rings for one minute and I leave a voicemail.
February 2, 2015 we had a superb snowstorm hit us in the wee hours of the morning and is still going strong, as a few of you may understand. Overall, we are about 8 inches of snow MA.
12:32 PM: Pete is back with another technician.
Pete quotes he'll be here in about 1h45m and calls me back. That charge is waived if I choose to have services, although he explains that it is $125 for the service call. Seems honest, so I agree.
6:44 AM: my friend and I start wet-vaccing the area.
6:23:00 AM: I see the sputtering and unlock the door. The light is turned to by me and watch my basement is flooded and the pipe which leads into my water heater is spewing water EVERYWHERE.
5:30 AM is acting funky. I have done a little bout of Googling and was NOT happy with what it explained could be the problem.
6:20 AM: I descend three flights, head to the basement, trek through about 3 inches of fresh snow, and lock up behind me. As I approach the back porch, a strange sound is heard by me before I even arrive. "Oh no..."
7:27 AM: Pete calls me to say he is en route to my place, but it may take him a little longer because nothing is actually plowed 36, than he anticipated.
BOTTOM LINE: time quotes and His prices were fairly spot on. He is incredibly thorough and pleased to answer all questions you may have (and trust me, I had a great deal of questions). Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Pete. He possesses Abacus and is a guy that is courteous. His ability to come out during a snow storm into a place where the roads weren't well plowed truly produced a much better day for me personally. This was a jolting experience as a new homeowner. The price was a small bit more than I had been expecting to cover, but frankly considering how long he spent here, how nicely he explained everything, and the fact that it had been done at the drop of a hat in a snow storm was actually more than I had been expecting and well worth the extra pennies.
The wheels onto the wet vac break. :-LRB- Nevertheless 1-2 inches of water, however, most has been gone.
Here is a log of my dawn (keep with me through the details -- if you do not want details, just skip to the bottom line):
8:47 AM: I get a price quote & vote for the cheaper option (that was of a fast fix to hold me over). He has. The price to do the job is less and actually fair than a nearly identical job I'd quoted in the last month.
10:13 AM: Snow in my property consists of 7 inches at this point in some areas. Pete is off to pick up hopefully and a replacement water heater another technician on his or her way.

Peter came through a cold snap in early January over our house to get our boiler moving. It konked out and would not do the job. He got us up and running in short order. I found him knowledgeable and dedicated to his commerce. As a technician myself, I know that there could be times when the fix may not be in alignment. Unknowns can be discovered along the way to the objective of getting. He clarified the situation in clear terms he needed to substitute a second part for us moving. I can't see the bad reviews as our experience with Peter confidence that he is. He takes his time. As grills, its common for hoses appliances are substituted as a standard practice. For example, a new appliance will not be installed by Best Buy under any conditions without a fresh set of hoses. You are in good hands with Peter.

We are going to call on Pete again if we need plumbing help.
Pete has just completed a complicated repair/upgrade to our home's underfloor heating system (pumps, valves, boiler repairs, a few pipe and exhaust Cleaners ), a two-day job, and it turned out great. He assisted us with an emergency situation in the past (leaking shower valves inside the wall), and we loved his strategy so much that we trusted him again with a larger, considerably more technical endeavor.
In comparison to he really seems to understand what he is talking about. He cares about the quality of his work, and is a plumber, up-to-date on the latest plumbing technology and processes.

Pete from Abacus responded immediately to fix my toilet. A small job, but essential. He examined the matter and the ways to fix it and then proceeded to do what we had consented. It turned out to be a bit more complicated than anticipated but during it all he kept me advised. It got Pete and repaired is my plumber! Someone who is clever, friendly and knowledgable, does the job, responds fast and fees that which appears to be middle of the street rates, is the perfect man for the job. Thanks!

Pete was about replacing sink faucet and a shower head in our house that is outdated, great. Not only did he recommend a few different brands and places to buy thembut he offered to buy them , which was super convenient. Apart from the replaced pipes, you would have never been able to tell he had been there. Before, we've had builders who left the area in which the job was done or their cigarette butts outside. . .or what are you (loud conversations on the phone once we're actually paying by the minute?! Seriously, this has occurred to usI'm certain that some other builders have billed us for time that they spent in their phone looking at Tinder hook ups). But Pete was comprehensive, professional, and timely. It was so pleasant to come home to our house as we had left it, only!

I'd Abacus Plumbing set up a stove and proceed another to a different site.

He protected the floors and cabinets. The cooker looked like it was always there, After he was done. Flooring and the cabinets were untouched.

The work was completed OK, and Pete is quite considerate - but I will not be using him again.
Pete arrived at my house. He estimated that he would be taken by the project so long as it really did and overstated the price of materials. All this went into a written quote for which I signed off. I feel that I had been overcharged and suffer now from buyer's remorse.

My water heater broke, and I had been known to Pete from a buddy, who actually said"I'd trust Pete along with my kid". He instantly answered the phone and I called Pete and was very useful, and also gave me a cost for a new device, provided the likelihood that it had to be replaced and how old mine was. He had been at my house in under one hour, at 8AM! He completely diagnosed my water heater when he explained to me exactly what the problem was and what my choices were, and got there. I moved forward with the new device, which Pete had thought to load to his truck and bring to my house with him. By 11AM Pete was done installing the water heater, and I couldn't be happier! Not only did Pete also leave a place that is fresh afterwards and do outstanding work, but he was quite dependable trustworthy and fairly priced! Pete saved the day, and I am really grateful! I called Heat and Abacus Plumbing last month to have a brand new shower system set up in my apartment because the system was older than I am! Pete was my tech; he came to my location the day of my initial call (which was nice) and was there that the time he stated he'd be.

I was amazed with the quote Abacus gave me . Their pricing has been significantly below competitors' costs Metro west of Boston. (Rodenheiser's quote has been 3 times more expensive!! Yikes!!) .
Seeing as I am a young girl who does not know about plumbing, I appreciated how my tech analyzed the problem, and laid out it'plain and simple' for me to understand. A Moen system was installed by him and just charged me. Pete was very personable and extremely accurate so I would certainly request him to get plumbing jobs.

Employed abacus to replace some other pipes services and a bathroom the owner was quite personable- professional neat and efficient-will have him back when needed-very pleased with his work-nice to have somebody you can trust- Due peter!!

We recently had a plumbing crisis when our water heater broke and flooded our basement. Pete did great work in a cost which didn't break the bank and arrived quickly! We will use him in the future.

Plumbing was great. I wasn't sure if I had a gas leak, and so I called Abacus. The exact same moment pete took my call straight away and arrived to my place. It was a gas leak and the issue was fixed by him. He explained the problem to me and was courteous. I would use him again for any additional plumbing needs. Highly recommended!
