To summarize, if you are at a crisis situation as we had been (no water whatsoever due to provide line leaking) this corporation will probably send somebody out quite quickly, however you'll pay a premium to get this. They have but I'd suggest if you have any repair work required as they seem to be rather pricey when compared to other 43, getting more than one quote.
As there is still additional work in advance, to clarify, this review is a little early. For the purpose of this inspection, I am only speaking of the original master plumber Scott (#2062) who came outside to diagnose and discover the flow within our supply line. Scott was easy to use prompt in arrival and as honest as they come. He gave us a few choices including one that would have saved us a significant quantity of money when we hadn't chosen to have them do the grinding (literally) - that was very quick in finding the leak and even put on a temporary patch that kept us with water that weekend without significant loss of water while turned on at the curb. I'd request Scott we have plumbing requirements. He is precisely the kind of service professional that you hope will show up when you are having a house repair catastrophe.
Additional techs are currently replacing the supply line with this same company, and I will follow up in my review when the work is completed. I will add the ballpark figure quoted was a couple thousand bucks more than another quote we received for work from a plumbing outfit in the city. They came down but are more costly, after talking another quotation.
Update: this review was publicly responded to by somebody from the business and asked me to email them any advice so they may follow up. I did. They did not. Big surprise!
I rarely write reviews but just want to warn folks about just how much I had been overcharged. Lesson learned and I won't be using roto rooter again. I paid $500 to get my garbage disposal replaced over, $305 of that was labour for less than an hour . Also, this is nitpicking but they billed $187 for the disposal I found online for $109. I am giving 2 stars rather than 1 because the tech was polite and professional. I must have done my homework, which I did afterwards. Another neighborhood plumber with a 5 star score gave a price of $245 for the job to me. Next time I will use them
That is with. If you have some other alternative don't go with Roto-Rooter. We had a leak from our shower, it was a direct escape in the pipe that went to the ceiling. It didn't cause any damage to our floors. They mended our escape and came in, cut a hole in the ceiling downstairs to do this that is clear and was needed. What wasn't needed was for them to rip up our floors in our toilet. There was no water damage to our flooring being that the leak went right through the ceiling, it was a escape. But they ripped my flooring and went ahead without any evidence of damage. This cost me $600 to repair. I reached out to them concerned about the price since I didn't want to pay the complete sum being that I needed to repair the flooring due to their mistake, they were charging me. I spoke to a very unapologetic woman named jasmine that wouldn't listen to me. She did possess up to the mistake that was made the very first time because she gave me a credit that is about what we owe nothing, we spoke and nothing about what we paid to repair. I am extremely disappointed in this company. I requested jasmine to credit out accounts for the money we spent replacing the flooring she told me and that they ripped up. I requested to talk with someone else and she said I could not talk with anyone else. This is absolutely absurd and I can't think such a huge business would be inconsiderate to their clients. I am disappointed in this business for how they have treated us and quite dissatisfied. Now she's saying she is sending us to ranges and putting a lien on my house since she is unwavering and will not help us. This is a firm. Do not work with them.
Even though the disposal was functioning, I had a backup in my disposal program. I called Raleigh Roto-Rooter since they waived the fee. The service guy showed up on time but stated it would cost $260. To fix it. When I asked why the price was so high he gave me a song and dance about how he would have to take apart the pipes, etc etc.. I said . The upshot is I discovered, eventually, a local licensed plumber which fitted it for $85.00. It took all of five minutes make out the potato skins to take the pipe apart and then fix it. These companies are really ripping off people. Just so that you know.
On replacing our water heater Fantastic job! Woke up with no water on a Tuesday. Eugene showed up in the beginning of the time window we were given diagnosed the issue, also called Carl so that they can get what was needed from Lowe's. We had for example bringing us around code, and both of these had a brand-new water heater installed in record time. Outstanding customer support and completed in just a few hours!
First appointment was a four hour window in which nobody showed or called. The following day, I called the dispatch, and was provided a 2 hour window. The next day, same thing, no call and no display after my appointment widow passed. I phoned and spoke with dispatch and was told that I'm next on the list. They informed me they could have someone out in 20 minutes and called an hour later, I told them not to bother at this point. Already waited 7 hours over two days.
They called me to inform me that the technician was on the way, which was one day earlier I scheduled. That tells me that they were concentrated on their convenience rather than customer's. Second, we requested the itemized (price of labor and material) quotes and the company rep was unable or unable to provide that. When requested, even for a repair job, for which they estimated $ 1,400 no breakdown of the cost has been supplied. Find someone to your plumbing needs. These guys are not it!
They will not appear. Find a different plumber. I scheduled an appointment between 8am and confirmed by phone twice. No plumber showed up. Worst customer support possible. There are plenty.
Great customer service, prompt responses. They needed to send out technicians several occasions to get a recurring issue (it was no fault of theirs) - they ensured their job and fixed it again at no extra charge. They respond fast to emergencies and do work that is great, although they are not going to be the cheapest.
These men won't supply a quote over the telephone, they just offer a project proposal once they arrived on site - and then want $378 to wash a drain - no kidding - prevent those men. Consider www.wakesewercleaning.com - $205 for the same job.
Rip off ! Their Aim is to get into your house - THEN give you a quote and start attempting to prepare you for the upsell
I asked for a price for clogged bathroom - wouldn't give over the phone but will provide you a quote when they reach your residence. The guy asked me what the problem was and I told him. He immediately quoted $195 and did nothing.
Roto Rooter will not be ever used by me. They take advantage of people who need a plumber
Called a plumber that charged $100
My tech was knowledgeable and extremely professional. He set my mind at ease immediately and was very enlightening. I would certainly choose this firm again!
We were pleased with the reaction time after we predicted in with an problem. Overall experience was good, and our problem was solved quickly. Joe was a tech. Only complaint is that it was rather expensive. Labor was hundreds more than the 1 part itself needing replacement, and our invoice ended up being only under FIVE hundred dollars, for 30 minutes of work and one part that anyone can purchase themselves at any hardware or appliance shop.
We agreed 1) since the tech was in our house and had identified the issue (which is likely something that they do on purpose), and 2) we had been in a rush to have the problem fixed-- otherwise we would have regretfully looked for one more estimate as a result of high price.
So this is the scam part, I know that it should be around $125 but the guy is here and I truly must have it done ASAP. This provider is cluttered.
My old drain line, water feed and electrical were all perfect. No new setup needed and that I had the dishwasher eliminated already. The plumber could see that (and he explained after he'd exactly the same dishwasher). Regardless he had to estimate me their"benchmark" $325 rate!!!
So have hired lots of organizations to correct stuff I have been a homeowner for 20 years. I was in a rush and made a significant mistake hiring Roto. I wish I'd have done more studying before hiring and you'll realize my experience was nearly exactly like the tales below. Whoever coined Roto ripoff spoke from experience.
Wanted so everybody can be informed to write a review from my experience today. After the fact I saw. Long story short my experience aligned into the scam and market rate was paid by me.
"Typical" charge. 3 dishwashers have been set up by me. It's 30-90 minutes for a handyman. One in a hundred will take two weeks to you.
Anyhow, the job was done in under 45 min. $325 !! Any plumbing business in Raleigh will bill at $75-$150 per hour. Roto is a scam, so recall, there were no unknowns, the plumber
That being said I called the company install. First red flag, they wouldn't give me a price range or hourly rate on the phone. "Your plumber will give you a free estimate". Total sales the
Everything cleaned up. Additional parts, the water box. I called Lowes afterwards to validate what I knew. They'd have charged $125 for setup.

T know if that was true, or a part of the scam.
First off, the plumber who showed up appeared to be one. Seemed like a Fantastic guy but that I don and he also trumped the difficulty of the project up
It was 100 percent their rate that is outrageous to be paid by my decision. You know.
I am rather upset like I have contacted them 3 days to have a receipt and I have gotten. I find it irritating I can't predict tech or the local number, it is always a national line that can't do much other than schedule appointments. So it has been 3 weeks and I can't even get a receipt, which I want for taxation reasons as it is an investment property.
The service was fairly mediocre. It was they called and couldn't locate the house since they were my billing address in Chapel Hill, in Chapel Hill but I specified Durham as the support address. But they showed up and seem to have fixed the issue - no more complaints against the tenant. It was pretty expensive for a cleaning - $350.
Overall, the next time, I will call somebody else.
Technician #1255 (did not leave title on work sequence ) came out to replace a bathtub cartridge, install a new toilet faucet and replace 3 toilet wax rings. He ruined my shower pulling the shower capsule with enough force to be observed in a different room. He installed the faucet using the drain pop-up not functioning. He said it couldn't be repaired because of the way that our sink has been installed. While substituting the wax rings, we asked to immediately clean and he said he did not have enough time to let us to clean.
Anyhow, my wife and I were quite disappointed with tech #1. Technician did a great job. Do not think we'll be going with Roto-Rooter later on...
Later, we noticed that the shower spout has been detached from the wallsocket. He re-attached the shower spout. He said that tech #1 did not have the instrument that's why he needed to yank hard to pull the cartridge out. He noticed that technicians deliver their own gear (not provided by Roto-Rooter) and using a suitable instrument, you don't need to yank hard to take the shower cartridge out. He noted in my job order that the shower enclosure has been removed causing harm. He also fixed the toilet sink pop-up enclosure (a fixable problem that tech #1 stated couldn't be repaired or perhaps he did not have enough time to fix).
I'm primarily writing this review to commend Matt (#4519) for being such a wonderful tech. After mis-diagnosing the issue and having another technician from Roto-Rooter come out to asses an issue with my gas hot water heater, Matt was delivered to my home to have a look. He listened carefully to the deadline of events I had recently undergone, then spent a fantastic period of time in my hot attic in the middle of the summer to fully asses the issue (pilot light would not remain lit). Matt added me into his schedule for the following day to return and replace the component after determining that a part needed to be replaced. He returned to my home and made the fix efficiently and quickly. Matt is excellent and should be rewarded for the exceptional support that he provided to me after a week of frustration caused by not needing persistent water in my new home.
This company came outside to dry up the water caused by a sewage leak. They removed the drain and although they charge greater than many, it was an emergency and I'd just gotten home from getting medical attention. An invoice was given at the time that the sewer pipe was unplugged and water elimination was started, it was paid on the spot for $394.68. No other mention of payment. They utilized lovers and dehumidifier. The dehumidifiers leaked water. Stop service and they had been at the home less than 24 hours and were asked to remove the machines that are washing. It was discovered that the floors will need to be eliminated in line with the insurance provider and business standard. Roto-Rooter billed $2,082.38 for this service that is not in conjunction with the business standard. However, the issue wished to share nothing in writing, info and was they never stated home much this ceremony would cost. After 25 days, if the invoice was not paid they predicted and threaten bureau. This was the first time I'd been notified that a bill was expected. I advised them I paid the invoice, but they insisted that I owed greater, the $2,082.32. Yesterday, the bill came in the mail. They appear to get taken advantage of my fragile state. Every else and seniors fragile should beware of the company.
I asked for my advice so someone can contact me and had customer service check in with me. Sure predicted some hours afterwards and ask why I abandoned the review which I did. I'd let him know exactly why that I did not understand why after paying $ I was going to be charged $ 1,000. He said well we perhaps might have helped you get some money back, and I informed him I asked the person that was installing the water heater what I could do to attempt to get a refund in this scenario as I believed it really unfair to have to cover this again. The service guy told me, and I quote"Good luck with this". I could share with you what I informed the gentleman who called me asking me to delete or alter my review of the business"Good luck with this"!
Avoid this company.
Our water heater leaked. Also to drain the water out of the tank and to stop the inflow of water, their estimate was $199. The job involves turning a valve and just it let it leak until it drains out as it is leaking anyways.
They quoted $1400 labour cost to replace the water tank. An individual builder was called by us and he replaced the tank with labour cost of $400.
