Not many property owners understand that they are responsible for the sewer line from the construction to the city main. Broken offset, or root-infested sewer lines may lead to sewage to back up into the home or industrial construction leading to extensive property damage in business or the house. Sewer back-ups may cause tens of thousands of dollars in property damage and loss. Replacement or repair of the line is excluded, which may cost tens of thousands of dollars Though insurance companies will pay for cleanup and recovery. Conventional home inspections do not cover condition or the integrity of sewer or septic lines. Possessing a sewer or septic line review before buying a house is a proactive and innovative approach to produce an educated purchasing decision, strategy for maintenance, budget for necessary repairs, or obtain valuable purchase price negotiation.

Highly recommend them to your sewer needs.
I wanted to get my sewer certified and inspected by town. This can be a huge undertaking and price if it isn't done. Sam took time to inspect and reinspect all or any region to help avert any cost and be sure it was done. Sam is an tech. He walks through the full procedure, price.
They had to expose a fantastic quantity of the pipe to assure there were not any broken or cracked cubes (digging 6 to 7 ft down and just as wide around) but in the very end of the three days you could not tell they were there.
Can't say enough about the job these men did. Fantastic job!!
Sloppy work, abandoned a"patch" in the street where they dug that was third planet quality. Finally came back months later to do a patch.
Woke up to these men starting work at 7:30 AM on a Sunday. They left a 3 foot long, enormous pothole in the middle of the road. For the past month I have watched cars pop tires and swerve in the hillside to prevent the huge hole. Didn't want to have to visit yelp to leave a bad review, as I figured the pot hole might be something they might come back and mend, but I have been trying to phone for the previous month, just about any day and no one is answering the phone.
They'll find all of my plumbing company going forward.
For updating my sewer, large job I got several distinct quotes. Juan at Rhino Rooter got my company because he impressed me with his offer of a cheap inspection and dedication to getting the job done as quickly as you can, to help keep my cost down. My confidence inspired from the beginning, and I was not disappointed. The job ended up being more complex than anticipated, but they managed it perfectly and passed EBMUD testimonials and Stege with no hitch. Juan's team members were
I appreciate a business which will take some opportunity to answer questions and clarify options that are various. Juan was respectful and prompt and professional, will they be called by me . I will.
Rhino Rooter did our sewer lateral and they were great! It was easy to program and the procedure was smooth. Will was quite communicative and a pleasure to work with. I'll phone them again for future function. Thanks Rhino Rooter!
Called this business with a plumbing emergency. Had sewage tub because of a sewer main between the house and the town pipe . Juan assessed the circumstance arrived promptly, and after having a camera down the pipe, then dug a trench to install a modern sewer clean-out that our house was missing because it's so outdated. Following that, he managed to clean the sewer line (tree roots), and get us functional again. It was a problem that is cluttered and unexpected, but Juan did a great job, provided communication throughout, and maintained to his original cost quote even though there were a few surprises along the way. Very reliable and trustworthy guy, highly suggested!
My water heater went Outside and I spoke in Rhino Rooter with Will. Will was super helpful and worked with me to get my water heater replaced on a time schedule that is brief and at a price. I've been able to call him back several times and get advice on how to deal with a few different things.
I see other reviews but frankly I just actually dealt with Will. Will is who you want to talk to. SUPER HELPFUL and decent guy!
Will is always down to help, and as Rhino Rooter has me. Will is THE BEST!
Rhino Rooter has been out to my home a few times and they have always done great work. Most recently, some shoddy work that was done by a different plumbing firm was pointed out by Will Feliciano. And they came out and fixed their work, but Will was able to put me in touch with their although I had been having a difficult time tracking down the other firm. Will went over and beyond to help me out even though there was no cash in it for Rhino Rooter or him. I highly recommend them for almost any job!
The very first time was fine I do not remember who came out but they did a fine job and might have given us a quote to get a sewer lateral. And naturally they were paid by us! Then 6 months or so ago even though nothing was wrong we chose to get three estimates. My roommate said that the proprietor was kind of a ass but believed they'd do a fantastic job.
Switch to today that was a nightmare.
So since the job up until then had been just fine. ( My roommate clarified Gary as a wiseass in previous interactions-but competent)
I stick by the 1 star. . It is wonderful how one interaction can sour a person-me in this case that's.
Sam was terrific and came out last minute, on time, Friday day. He was courteous thorough, and knowledgeable. He cleared the lineup
I really don't give a rats ass how awful their day was Gary was downright rude and nasty, As it turns out. He kept insisting that he had been to our house"at 5x at the past" which he wasn't likely to do anymore work at no cost. Huh?
Nope not gont occur.
So the Rhino Rooter van pulls up in front of the house and I venture out to greet them. Another man and the proprietor Gary got out of the van appearing extremely frustrated and really pissed off. Uh oh I thought that these guys had a bad day. .
Or whatever the thing is beyond the house that connects the street and the street and our sewer line overflowed.
. I've had the time to think and have read Gary's response. Yet up until my interaction together they did a job which is why I hired them .
On the weekend we tried to flush upstairs toilet and it didn't work..and it didn't work well all weekend after vigorous plunging. So today I called the office and spoke with Denise and she called me and said someone would be over in about half an hour.
If they had been reviewed by me earlier my last interaction I would have given them 4 stars so I'm revising the stars from damaging one so I think. .
We had intended on using Rhino Rooter to substitute our sewer lateral but uh ah recall the rhino. Sam good. Rhino bad.
I thought that I heard him say to me that if we had any issues to telephone and that there function was ensured for 30 days? A week? I don't recall.FILE_0_EXTENSIONific!
And I paid him the $175 they needed plus gave him a $20.00 tip cus he seemed so trustworthy and productive. And for coming out on a Friday afternoon!
I guess Gary believed I was expecting him to wash out the lateral for free. I believed that he wold check out the toilets. When I told him that, he stated that will be $125.00. But at that time he had been threatening there was no way I let him anywhere near my house or my pissoir and so obnoxious.
I paid each time to them with no question and he and Sam told us that they'd come out and wash the lateral when we didn't wish to get a new one that costs $5000. Gary had said to my roommate when he came out for a quote we should wait on replacing the lateral before the moratorium on street fix was over and we can call them to do the clean out for $150-$175. No problem, fine.
Whenever they left I called the office hoping to speak with Denise and find out who let Gary's evil twin out of the box. . No I called to see if she could look us up and determine if we got work for free which The Gary twin that was evil kept insisting we did and that I understood we never had.
We utilized Rhino Rooter 3x in the past couple of years. Unfortunately we won't use them again. Ever.
Rhino Rooter was great! Gary came out and did the estimate promptly; he took the opportunity to answer my questions all. He worked with my schedule for completion - we had just bought the house and had 6 months to complete the sewer lateral and naturally I waited until the final minute. His workers constantly let me poke around to find out exactly what they have been doing and were great too. Excellent service, quick and effective without nickel-and-diming me. I'd hire them again!
We urge them wholeheartedly, and had a experience with Rhino Rooter. Gary and his team were wonderful to get in contact with, and easy to use -- professional, type, SO friendly. To be able to get to the pipes they were operating on, they needed to take some of our deck up. I noticed they had used tape to amount each board so they would place them back into the appropriate sequence (such attention to detail!) , and now that they are completed, there is not even a trace they were (besides our fully-functioning pipes!) . We'd feared this job could be just one giant hassle, and Gary and his team were able to make it a painless and effortless experience for us. If you're trying to find a group of people who can do the job right the first time, hire Rhino Rooter!
After he left I place his contact information into my phone. I would certainly recommend him to anybody that is having plumbing issues inside the area (El Cerrito).
4 - I'm a 1st time home owner and did not know a lot about pipes and sewer laterals, but Will helped clarify to me what had to be done in order to get the problem repaired and what was going on.
2 - crawling under the house Went over and beyond. Additionally helping me fix the hinge on my crawl space door.
1 - I called in the AM and that he scheduled me on precisely the exact same day. Will was also on time.
I gave 5 stars to him:
Long story short, Will was very easy going, knew his stuff, and pin pointed exactly what my problem was (kitchen sink pipe wasn't on the sewer lateral) within 1.5 hrs. He made me wish I phoned him first prior to the the other plumber.
3 - Very thorough in his job. He did a lot of testing to key about what happened.
5. He got me an answer and figured out this problem!
I do not write reviews for service experience, just food. When credit is deserved, however, credit is due.
We hope we won't need any plumbing done for quite a very long time, but when we do, we will surely call Gary & Rhino Rooter!
Gary & his crew altered our sewer... er... something like that-- what do I know, I just sign hand & things over money... anyhow, it was a fairly major job, that comprised licenses pipes, cement... you get the picture.
Gary is friendly & knowledgeable. We had his price was A LOT less & another quote. His office staff helps to move the process along (reminder calls for scheduling and obtaining the contract signed, etc), but not in a pushy manner. The employees were good - they had everything cleaned up.
Rhino Rooter has up front & GREAT customer support -- quite responsive to the work which comes up. He worked with us to get the task done before a celebration (why we scheduled significant plumbing work to be performed the very same day we were having a bunch of people above is another question)
Give a call to Rhino Rooter if you are interested in a show waste of your time. Rhino Rooter was in the area within an EBMUD contract when I asked twice if they'd be inclined to do a job. I made the appointment with phone calls for the week, to be at their own convenience. If I had been flexible because of my 3pm appointment, I received a message but needed to know. I returned the call and left my first message to get my appointment to be the exact same day, but I was flexible. I prepared the area and planned most of my daily life to be current for the job.
NO call. NO show. NO work. And now be prepared for a service and then their experience or my urge would be to look elsewhere.
The sum that I ended up paying was okay considering that the project did in fact required and become more complicated. However, the practice of getting to that point - being overcharged, in my estimation, being threatened with a lien almost instantly, and then finding the initial work had been finished - . A mechanic's lien is a scary thing, and that weapon exceptionally is wielded by Rhino effectively and ancient on. The job was done well and on time (except for the hole that was not back-filled), but the exceptionally aggressive use of the mechanic's lien for a means to extract money out of a homeowner would be in my estimation, deplorable.
I have tried my best to be objective and accurate here, and that I hesitated to write about this because it was unpleasant. But homeowners will need to be made aware of these incidents, and how simple it is to get a contractor to use the threat of a mechanic's lien. I have worked and never once had come up in any conversation. Here, it came up
First the good - in the spirit of fairness. Our primary sewage line from the house, down a mountain, and to the city drain down the mountain, had to be replaced. The lineup was repaired/replaced and has been done punctually. We have had no difficulties with it. The boy, a man that is really wonderful, in the surgery was previously From the armed services, and that I was happy to give him my business.
Do you desire a"LIEN" mean, clean sewage line? If so, read on.
The bad. This story should serve as a lesson. Be mindful that a contractor may file a"mechanic's lien" against essentially any dwelling owner who he feels owes them money. It is very simple to do and may cause you the property owner a lot of problems, especially. Furthermore, a lien against you has filed for $100 and if you want to refinance your house, you're out of luck. Once filed and accepted - it virtually always is according to a lawyer I talked with - you have to either pay to get rid of it - what the contractor would like you to cover - or hire an attorney to get rid of it by proving that it was b.s.. However, hiring a lawyer to have a lien because Joe Blow is only trying to extract more money from you costs money, and so every time a contractor threatens you with a lien from your home for something less than $5000, then you may as well pay because not to pay it and get rid of the lien, so you will likely end up paying that much.
The quantity in question between me and Rhino was approximately $3000. The project required no estimate and work was granted prior to the job beginning. I thought notification of the step upward, was demanded. Mind you that this was initially. But the bill came in around $10,500. I didn't want to cover that $3000 not all of it, without some discussion and a few critical concerns I had regarding the nature and costs of a number of the extra charges. Quite honestly it looked like the bill has been padded. No matter the owner threatened immediately to file a mechanic's lien from my house unless I paid that $3000 by some deadline, and needed the money. We went back and forth on email and also managed to push the fees down to approximately $1500. However he was ready to file that lien at any moment. Fortunately for me, his guys forgot to fill up until the city told me a trench in my neighbor's house, which I didn't realize. Hence that the city could not sign off on it. And the principle is that the job thus not completed, and if the license hasn't been signed off, that lien can't be filed by you. That gave me some time. I'd my landscaper"backfill" the trench with surrounding dirt that he charged me $50 for instead of have the Rhino guys return. They'd have done it since that was a part of the first $5000 bid and the undertaking. However, I wished to demonstrate the man that a trench can return filled for $50, not $400 or so.
So the lien could not file because they hadn't finished the first work that fell under the estimate that is $5000. It was an honest error, but could have been an issue if my neighbor's kid would have ventured down there. However, no harm no foul, and town signed off the license. To find this unpleasant experience , I paid him half of the disputed amount which had come down substantially from the 3000. Since once the job is in fact finished - and signed off from town - from yourself or by the first contractor, the contractor may come after you. Therefore that the threat was straight back on and that I felt forced to cover.
Before hiring these guys wish I'd read a number of those reviews. I needed a gas line set up for my drier was fine and seemed to know so that I went to it, what he was talking about with rates. It required to have this job done. Every time the work he claimed there was a thing needed was started by him, ended up costing double the original estimate. They didn't even come pick up their garbage until I clarified that I would with hold payment until this was done and left our garage a mess. The only positive thing I can say is the guy I worked with replied my.
I'd give them zero stars if I could. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with an agency firm. We had the outfit do a fresh trench for our sewer and also had nothing but major issues with the job, the team (the a-hole proprietor along with his thug of a son) and the cost. They'll give you price as a bid and then after the job is completed intimidate you to pay them by and after that will probably strike you endanger you. These people ought to be working on sewers because they're compete Sh-t!!! Beware and steer clear!!!
Highly suggested.
We had a situation so we could not go with a replacement where our lateral was tied to the neighbors lateral. Angel and the team dug out and laid a lateral that was new and redirected the neighbors 1/2 bath line. I watched a lot of the work going on and had been, plus they did a solid job. I wouldn't hesistate to call them again.
For those who did not receive a call , attempt to understand that sometimes tasks which are concealed (plumbing, pipes, termite, etc.. ) crop up with"unforeseen conditions" and toss everyone's schedule out of whack. This happens and you just need to call again, regardless of the contractor.
Following a couple of bids on replacing our sewer , rhino rooter was picked by us since the job they did their trucks/equipment seemed preserved away a block seemed great, and their estimate was competitive. I worked with Sam and I have to say he bent over backwards to accomodate us.
After, I was given an estimate and I asked for a discount on the $200 inspection fee due to his late arrival. He said no, immediately. I was okay with that, things happens and I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, he then says,"Sometimes we show up early and we do not charge extra for that." Like his time is worth everything and my time is worth . Lets just sayit was. That's why I am on here now writing this review.
Met with Gary today I may purchase. 3pm rolls around, no Gary. So I gave him thought visitors may be an issue. Called him and it looked like that he forgot, although he told me that he simply lost track of the time. \
I live 1hour off, so anything under 2 hours are worth it to me so I wouldn't need to make another trip. 1/2 hour later he said he was 1/2 hour off trapped in traffic. 50 mins he also arrives. ~2 hrs late.
That's exactly why he's getting 2 stars, everything was fine with the review, and he does his review, he was fast and efficient.
Subsequently Gary is your guy if you want a person who will be condescend in regards to the worth of your time!
