He crawled back to fix the leak started to pull parts. He was done within one hour. Pack up his tools and he jumped to clean the area up. Since we weren't sure if they take credit cards (they really do ), we had gone into the bank to make sure we had cash on hand. As they take credit card, we now have a load of cash to spend elsewhere. lol
Overall a very enjoyable experience.
We had an issue with a flow that we tried but could not find. We called these guys and they came out. Alex spent approximately 20 minutes running around using a flashlight. He looked and discovered the leak's location. He told us that it would take about an hour to fix and that he had the components in the truck. We'd plumbing work done so we had. To our surprise, their price was lower than what we were prepared to cover so we readily accepted the quote.
Are those crooks getting reviews that are favorable? And what kind of bargain is is that the $65.00 service charge and $110+ hourly rate? I understand roto-rooter does this... however I expect it from them. And the supposedly of the SOB have a relationship with the management company and our apartment construction. They understand they have people over a cone and they opt to exploit it. The most I could do is complain here and to the property management for the shat referral. I would When I could do more.
I had a problem with my bathroom (it was not filling properly). I called DH Stevens and made an appointment, but they were not able to see me for three days. It wasn't a big deal though since they came on time and were able to repair my bathroom within 15 minutes. I was able to get a discount on the job that has been done (I believe they have a good deal of customers in my building, and so I got a"preferred rate.") . In general, no complaints. Iwould suggest and'd certainly use them again.
This company came recommended from my realtor. We had a problem with the bathroom running and also with a tub clog not able to be snaked. In general, prompt and fast service. Fees are reasonable: $175/hour + materials trip charge.
This odor is marijuana, if you wonder why the plumber comes with a pungent odor and the reason why they can not proceed beyond basic problem solving to repair your toilet clog.
Alex, with Stevens Plumbing was AWESOME to be. And, left four $25.00 to me coupons for my neighbors, too!
My kitchen water demands are controllable in the building water supply. And, simply because he had been so proactive, he solved my"broken" dishwasher, by unclogging the dishwasher drain output into the garbage disposal!
He understands his ability. Made better ideas. And, using a fantastic customer service attitude.
They offered us a heater, during the installment, the meter broke, and also we needed to phone DC Gas to come out to repair it. They did and it broke, although the gas company said the meter should ever touch. We had been out of warm water for weeks. Three occasions broke . Now it broke the forth time, and they state it is so that they refuse to repair it. They purposefully waited and refused to provide us a heater when this one was broken.
Biggest crooks. Sold us a water heather that's broken 3 times in one year. Dishonest. Unresponsive. $ 5,000 was spent by us and they left us high and dry. Sold us a lemon and they won't repair it.
$135 has been a great thing.
They are strongly recommended by me! They are seasoned and HONEST!
He charged me $65 for the trip and less than the half-hour rate quoted over the phone.
*do not call Roto Rooter, they will not tell you that the fees over the phone. And, they scam you. I had been charged $420 for a sink and tub. The plumber said he charged me but I am pretty sure it was a scam.
I managed to arrange a trip. They gave me the quote over the phone $75 for the rate and the trip. It took than 20 to the plumber min to solve my clog. He showed me how I could de-clog later on, and I was impressed that he had been helpful and honest! I realize that I could have had a couple too many bad plumbing adventures...
Prevent! Steve (large man with pony tail) came to look at my dripping bathtub. He tried to convince me to avoid my insurer, pointed his finger in my head many times, called me"stupid", tried to instigate a debate between me and my neighbor, insulted my girlfriend, refused to provide a formal estimate before beginning work, hunted for me to admit all liabilities prior to work (and diagnosis), and was told by my direction to leave the building due to his improper behavior. His assistant gave me a"ballpark" estimate for the job, which was 3.5 times the amount my insurance company would authorize. I went to Jiffy pipes, who did it for 1/4 the price, and they were fine.
I called another company to come back out that did a more comprehensive diagnostic procedure and if they also could not tell me precisely the problem recurred, they did fix the problem once again and could provide me with a further diagnostic/repair proposal that I could follow if I wanted. Stevens revealed that they did not want my company and I will not even consider getting a quote from Stevens, in spite of the fact that this diagnostic/repair proposal offered by another firm is relatively expensive.
Two or three months later, I had another sewage backup. I called Stevens away and advised them they had worked on my home this season and that the difficulty had recurred. I asked them if they might come fix it and before I got any farther I had been told. I asked"even for an emergency"? Yes even for an emergency.
I was pleased with Stevens Plumbing. I had a sewer line backup and called them late on a Sunday evening; there had been a crew to fix the problem. As it should, they couldn't tell what had caused the matter, but after they were done, what was flowing freely.
An outstanding, helpful business!
Stevens' technicians are helpful and extremely knowledgeable, and the cost of service is fair. We will continue to rely on them to come.
We returned from Christmas/New Years travel to a suspended water main at the middle of a period of cold weather. We called Stevens' crisis line and a technician called us back. He talked us through with a space heater to heat the pipe and locating the water primary. We called him back when that wasn't working after 3 hours, and he advised us to keep the warmth to get a couple more hours. That did the trick, and water service resumed without us spending a dime.
Steven came out to my home early in the morning on a Saturday with pastries. He was honest and presented me with my options, all which unfortunately would call for massive structure. After consulting with Steven I decided to not pursue the job. I respect honesty & his candor, not to mention his warm & welcoming attitude. You can't go wrong. You feel as if you're coping with a friend who has your back!
Steven's Plumbing offers timely, honest services, at rates that are fair. It's difficult in DC to find such quality but Steven's is only that. They are more efficient, practical, and don't attempt make the most of you. I have had them out two times and both times I had a fantastic experience. Super refreshing to find these folks.

I loved the fact Stevens was able to come out in short note to repair our escape. But they billed $390 to replace a cartridge that's a fix. I believe the breakdown was $75 for the service charge and then $175 per hour? Why it took so long, I don't understand and that I think we were billed for the time required to go out and find the part. our faucet has a drip and it was not dripping prior to the fix.
The service was excellent- despite the winter stress, they arrived. They fixed it well and efficiently, and we had a burst pipe, and left the home. Clear communication and the cost was reasonable. A+ from me
Had a bathroom in a rental home that was not filling. The handyman wanted to replace the valve and . Called Stevens to test on crisis program, and they talked me through doing a diagnosis. Turned out among the inner mechanisms was faulty. My husband and I have replacement components and fixed it ourselves. Soooooo grateful to Stevens!!!!
