I called Roto-Rooter Directly after I discovered an issue with my plumbing. The technician, David, showed up about 10 minutes later he had been projected to get there by dispatch. Nevertheless, he didn't try to oversell me, and was professional, competent.
BE WARNED: I know by denying the problem is much worse than it is of techs trying to oversell clients. Maybe I lucked out. After I balked at the price that was initial, anyway, David even offered a $75 discount.
Including tax, I paid about $222 for unclogging work that was basic. For an emergency plumbing service that is successful and professional, you can't fail. Just be wary of their tactics and"advantage" pricing.

Feel Ripped Off They came running in like super save-a-... I was told by Amir that all would be taken care of from moving out the furniture, water recovery, taking up the old floor, obtaining a contractor in replacing new floor, drywall taken down and replaced. So that the way he was speaking I was like fine called my insurance adjuster, they are going to take care of everything, we just have to pick out the floor when it is time. They did come in and take out my furniture, tear my drywall down and pull some of my floor. I'm sitting around waiting for someone to show up to continue pulling the old floor, do my gutters, have the contractor come in place my doors and frames straight back up, put in new floor. Well I was sitting around like an idiot. When snaking, I would not have known their part was completed, if I hadn't called Roto-Rooter to request a copy of the movie they'd taken - they had been charging my insurance. As soon as I said wait I was told that Roto-Rooter was taking care of everything. They said he shouldn't have told me that. I felt like Rotor -Rooter found they arrived a took advantage to get cash and that we were in a bad place. I'd have gotten my own contractor to finish the job, if they'd told the truth. But they had the cash more than I did. Will never use them again.

Then Roto-Rooter offered a"free camera review" and"free estimate" for the sewage issue we would not have had to deal with had they never misdiagnosed the problem. The free camera review resulted in a brand-new sewage spill and also the free estimate was approximately $1000 over several different quotes and kept changing based on how far the salesmen (who couldn't answer fundamental questions about the clean up process) believed our deductible was - fishy.
Roto-Rooter billed us a few hundred bucks to misdiagnose a sewage problem in a house we were looking at purchasing, and we literally bought the house under the perception that a flow has been caused by water coming from out, simply to find out months following our buy it had been a sewage issue after all. They never reported an issue to the city they were assumed to which will cause us an excess headache.
Without going into a lengthy review, two people misdiagnosed the problem. The next (the sole reputable person we've worked with) fixed the problem - it was a little expensive but not outrageous.
We really trusted Roto-Rooter based on the name, and we had been so wrong. Avoid at any cost.

They are NOT 24hours as I had a crisis and they do not live up to what their site says up to them being around the clock! Very disappointed!

N.BG Had woken up to water All within my garage wow had outstanding support from these types of plumbers will suggest them to anyone. Thanks excellent and fast. Omar

I called for a kitchen drain clog which caused all over the floor and then subsequently water to back up into the dish washer. The plumber RR quoted me over $600 to perform a drain snake. I declined and discovered that a local plumber that was different and he did the job and charged $180. Roto Rooter is highway robbery.

I am following with this petition as the issue has not been resolved yet and we are frustrated. We are planning to reach of we don't hear before the end of this week from Benjamin to the BBB. A couple of weeks a go he made all kind of promises that are fake and reached to us. Where we stand in the time to write an angry reviews against Roto Rooter two months later, we're still. I guess I have to expand them.

Did the job, but soooooo expensive. I had been told there is a flat rate of $623 for snaking a drain. Will never use this company again.

Complete SCAM -- stay away! I was offered $75 to straight back. Don't use their service again.
These men are liars...I asked to connect a dishwasher. The plumber came and told me it will be a three hour job and the price is $850! He then said he will rush and do it in 2.5 hours and will give me a discount. Total price: $570+ DC tax. In the long run, he was done within one hour (but charged my card before he started). I called customer service and explained the problem - that they use trackers and will tell when the plumber starts and finishes.

632 DOLLARS TO SNAKE A SLOW DRAIN???!!!! ABSO-FUGGIN-LOOTLY NOT! They are crazy overpriced and there are plenty of companies that will resolve your plumbing issue for less. It tried though.

On the coupon did it state that you had to present it before service, only at a certain stage during the service. They attempted to say that most of their customers don't use coupons or don't need to use them. If accurate, that's ok, but not everyone has that cash to burn and as somebody on a budget, saving that $55 goes a very long way.
Be sure to tell the plumber if you have a coupon ahead of time or they'll give you an excuse about why they can't use it.
Use a company. These individuals are not that great (or cheap) that they are condescending as they were. I use.
They are decent plumbers, but pricey (as many are). They showed up after the window and the office did not pick up the phone when we called to ask about their birth. They completed the service but refused to take that a coupon when presented in the time of payment. Apparently we had to mention it when the plumber walked in the door, even though it was left by us right next to the sink he had been working on. He blamed us for not knowing the company policy.
In reality, they even admitted they don't ask for vouchers because they want to charge people as far as possible.

I scheduled an appointment with Roto Rooter to set up a new bathroom last week. I inquired for the morning and they gave me a window of 8am to 12. You'd think that you would be seen at 8am, or at a minimum be seen throughout the agreed on appointment since I chased it a week out. Rather than getting a call at 8 telling me they could satisfy the window, I got a call at 10am telling me they will call me when there is a plumber available but they could not guarantee they'd be there by noon. To insult me as a client more, I was told they don't compensate customers for breaking up their agreed though they have you tied to a house all morning. At noon I got the phone telling me they would not make my agreed on 8-12 window, but they'd send somebody out. I used Yelp to find another plumber who reacted within 15 mins and had a plumber in route that's scheduled to arrive at 1pm. RR was stopped by me and throughout the cancelation I was provided a reduction and was asked if I had. Then the supervisor tells me they're sending the plumber that is next to me and he is on his way out of Manassas. It's"Friday" afternoon and I seriously doubt I'd observe the plumber in a few hours. Not certain where the reduction dialog was leading was leading, but since the agreement that is scheduled broke, I really don't trust them canceled.
They had been great when I used themin fact they had been outstanding, but that was the polar opposite of that adventure. Now scheduling that is horrible experience. If you appreciate your time and need a plumbing company that enjoys your time and you as a client and will keep you informed on the schedule and also compensate you when they can't fulfill you, then recall my experience and do what I am doing....never calling Roto Rooter again.
When you break an agreement with a company, you are penalized by companies. However, if an agreement with you breaks, the excellent ones compensate the customer.

I was afraid because I presumed their costs could be too high, to call Roto-rooter.
I called four plumbing firms on a late Friday evening. I only received a call back. They had somebody out in under two hours. Sailo was professional and super useful. He got the job done quick and economically.

In the past 1 1/2 years, we've used RR twice, and we do not recommend this company (which costs an exorbitant amount of money for'labor', such as it is.) Their'technicians' hardly speak English are either incompetent, or are dishonest. 1 tech failed, without any excuse, to inform us he uttered the guarantee concerning toilet parts replacement. All parts are guaranteed for one year. A second technician tried to offer the least duration of warranty possible on a toilet part replacement. (He also did not understand the distinction between'commercial' and'residential' service on his company's receipt.) A dispatcher failed to notify us when a tech was supposed to arrive after we had waited for him. Finally, the RR technician billed us 314 for'labor' that took about 15 minutes. The part has been extra.
On the brighter side, the encounter with the RR tech sort of reminded us of the episode of'Seinfeld' sans the commercials or the responses.

Nobody wishes to have when their toilet doesn't flush to call a plumber, but I was so pleased with the service technicians I will certainly call Rotorooter again! They were courteous, knowledgeable and left my home very clean. As it turned out I did not have a drain clog- only a bathroom that they helped me substitute and picked up a fresh one for me. Joseph #5423 and Emmanuel #4907 were totally wonderful and a charge to their business. I will absolutely request them if I need help.

Two technicians quoted and came to my home. I diagnosed the issue, and just asked him to snake the lineup.

Pros: friendly operator and repairman came within two hours when other plumbers I called had multi-day waits; the plumber was educated, professional and resolved our issue over 90 minutes (a clogged kitchen sink that had to be'snaked,' and was pleased to apply a $75-off voucher that is available online through Roto-Rooter's website. Con: despite all the $75-off coupon, snaking the lineup cost $585 (after tax), which was about double what we paid to solve a similar issue previously. So, it's expensive, but you're paying for a fast response by a great experienced plumber... as they say,"you get what you pay for."

I gave Roter 2 starts based on favorable experience I had 3 decades ago. In the previous two years though I have invited them to supply quotes in few little plumbing problems (clogged toilet etc.) Unfortunately the quotas were triple or double compare to other plumbers I eventually used. I really don't like.

Horrible!! Don't use!! They wanted to charge $623 to snake a shower drain. We got two additional quotes for $225!! DO YOUR RESEARCH!! He offered to bill $295. . .WHAT?? NO THANKS!! I think you opt to accept the price since they are there, they only do in home quotes.

The salesman tries to tell me that there is a 6 months warranty, for doing a bad job, but if you look at the details it just covers them. Any"new" problems are going to be billed for a new charge.
Complete rip-off AVOID!
I called for a simple drain line that was further than 6 feet but nicely under 25 ft and they wanted to charge 599$. The DC area average for the service is 100-250$. Roto Rooter said their cost was the exact same 7 days a week 24/7.
The reason why they wish to tell you the cost after you wait for hours, That's. Because after you wait hours for something people are less likely to let them go away and then wait additional time for another 31, it's a revenue trick. So since they waited for to this stage even if the purchase price seems really high they proceed with it and they simply need it fixed.
DC Roto Rooter Prices are 3x what you can charge.
