I had to chime in with my two cents here. . I've used this company a few times and they are always so great to all problems concerning any doorway hardware/locks.
I work with Aaron generally and that I find him wonderful to work with.
They are not affordable. I will acknowledge that. We live in NYC and I've come to accept that its just a way of life! I work for a building business in the town and they are literally in my speed dial!
I email them call them and that I swear they are literally ON SITE within 30 minutes or less.
When you email them that they take care of the issues available in a most professional way and ask you what time do you need they and us are there always -- instant.

I needed it to get email for friend dying of cancer. It didn't work. Fourteen days after I returned to Abby and they informed me that the key I made weeks ago is old. They didn't even try to correct it! This reveals Abby handed it off as fresh and utilizes old stock. FRAUD. LIARS. .

I'll be back since the service was not great.
I wouldn't come back to this place.
Nevertheless, they did do exactly the job that I paid them , and for that, I'm thankful.
It wasn't handled well; nobody insisted or seemed to care I Was waiting:(
My total came out to $13 and a few change -- not bad for a few tags and 4 keys -- however they had been having tremendous difficulty using their credit card machine. I waited an additional 20 minutes or so while they figured out how to utilize their charge card machine while copying my crucial required 4 mins. I think the machine was something or busted. I was in a rush and had folks, although I wouldn't care. If they let me walk out I'd have appreciated. $13 is not much to lose over business.

Was great. When trying to make a copy of my key I had been told that only Abbey could make a copy of my key. Abbey never described to me this. When I need a secret made, I don't live anywhere near Abbey and can not move there.
I called them up and explained this to them. They stated that they explained that they could only copy the secret I said they did not. They won't even give a break on copying a secret that is new to me - !
Good riddence!

A review. Back through summertime, our lock gave up the ghost and the override key was locked within the flat. We initially achieved to the locksmiths that set up on the lock (not Abbey), who were unbelievably incompetent. After back and forth phone calls, waiting for hoursand dealing with a locksmith who desired to drill out the old lock did not have a replacement cylinder (because who doesn't need to leave a gaping hole in their own flat lock in NYC), we're locked out. We tried hiring and referred us. Thank goodness! Service was prompt and reasonably priced, and Oliver was on professional and time. It was not an easy endeavor, but he kept at it until the lock was opened, and the lock was replaced by him perfectly. Highly recommend!!

I would suggest searching for a place if you do talk if you know somewhere, and can find one in the region.
The gentlemen behind the counter were quick to help and friendly enough although I have definitely gone into places using the exact same or even better service.
My roommate and I had to make duplicates of our secrets, and this was the site. However, every key was duplicated was at least $2.50, and there was one which was $5. I'm not positive what but that was way too pricey:-LRB- I have made copies of my keys elsewhere or if it's because of the location and didn't have to spend a lot of money.

Ridiculously overpricedThis company makes it crystal clear that you Don't Have Any choice on in which they are the locksmith of the Bldg management
Start Looking for other locksmith providers or if you are handy to Purchase the components and do it yourself
That should have just cost less than a hour of labour and $250.00 for your components to swap this out
I Won't recommend them
We were charged $1200.00+ to get a door lock meeting
Definitely wc can create them charge you enjoy as if there has been a brain surgeon the Person Who replaced your door lock assembly
I tried asking for a reduction and the answer was a resounding"NO!"

I also only read a review saying they charged a lot to have a crucial cut -- their bill was very inexpensive at only a few dollars per crucial -- however in the past when I have needed another type of essential made at other places - there are specific keys which are more costly. . I believe that it depends which type of key.
Additionally, all of the keys worked! I'm constantly misplacing keys in different bags or who knows - maybe my kitty hides them.... So when I visit a hardware store I'll have 5 keys. Almost always, only 2 of the 5 work plus I want to return to whatever hardware store to receive all the keys to work - so when this place made all FIVE copies which worked first time - thumbs up!
Great location to get keys. I was basically in and out of there with fresh keys in under 5 minutes although it is a tiny little area with space.

My construction direction refered me to telephone Abbey Locksmith once I locked myself out. Yes, most construction managements have a spare for times just like those but mine was of course. Whenever you've got a 100 more errands being locked out of their home day would be a nightmare. They came within 20 minutes and at my location also got my door available. I swear the man was a wizard! They go on my list of the things I'm thankful for.

When given the opportunity to make me whole for my travel time (they do not ) and cut one blank for a B and one blank for a D they refused. Rude, inconsistent and incompetent.
Finest part nevertheless, this second key does not work either.
There's around a grand a foot and a reason. It is sellers like these people. Incompetent and bullies. $16 charges to get a key cut they charge $160 per hour for their time and also the key does not work they attribute the key they simply had to copy. They don't have any value on your time once I offered the opportunity do the right thing they do not.
They make a cockamamie story about a b an d cut up; they didn't know which it was nor could they copy the key that is working. It gets better they acknowledge the mistake was not at the B&D cut that too much was cut at the bottom of the major.
You simply can't trust them I would definitely be hard-pressed to have them come to my door and know my address.
The whole time sat silent.
MORONS

If your nephew locks a padlock which you brought back on the arm of a Yetti stuffed animal from Paris and you do not want to decrease the arm or the lock off the yetti that is the place! (I can not be the only person ever to have been observed in this situation?!?) Alex and Chungie are rock stars to my loved ones. They saved the day and worked together to get the lock unlocked with no secret! Btw, lock picking is not was easy since you tube causes it seem...

Rates are more reasonable than other locksmiths in the region. They always have been my move to men and are
Also for the 4 dialysis clinics I operate and I have utilized Abbey Locksmith for 15 decades and I have never had a bad experience with them.

I'd stay far from Abbey. We had a new front-door lock installed in June, soon after we moved to a new apartment. On the weekend, my husband found himself not able to exit the apartment. The building staff had an extra key with which to open the door from the exterior. An Abbey technician fixed the lock -- for $175. The manager was rude, when I called to see if Abbey could create a lodging. A company would stand behind its job for longer than that, although it's true that the receipt says the work is ensured only for 90 days.

I've used numerous times to this company as I am a property manager and RE Broker. I've used them on doors and end hardware installations for repairs. They have done great work! I've had a tenant's door opens without ruining the cylinder, that left the keys inside the flat. Locksmiths would simply drill it out to earn more money. They're one of the honest companies in this subject.

I don't normally write these reviews but I think it's essential for people to read about others experiences prior. My building recommended I use Abbey locksmith so we used them and went ahead. We chose the most expensive locks they offered for our front door. He did not bring all the materials he needed since they forgot to order the other locks we desired replaced After the technician came to install. This was frustrating given the sum of money we had been paying but we understood there was some sort of miscommunication between whoever we talked to and affirmed our order with (I think there are multiple owners).
After I couldn't get in the door, 2 weeks following the brand-new locks went in, I was shocked. I thought so I named the doorman who explained that the lock was broken and attempted my key, it was my mistake. I predicted abbey and they sent over a technician over 15 minutes (A and for response time.)
A couple of weeks back (the new locks are less than 2 months old)I arrived home shortly after a long day at work to find that I was again not able to get in the apartment. This time the tech stated they'd replace my locks since there must be some thing wrong. I was thrilled this scenario would finally be remedied. I was wrong. We had been not able to get into our apartment again just two weeks following the new locks were set up! Pretty frustrating and awkward because we had guests over who had to wait with us at the hallway. Not sure what they will do in order to fix the locks that time but wanted to share my expertise.

As her lock I have my boss trying to get a lock set up on her front door and they'd so as to open the doorway, break it open. I had known to ask for their recommendation for a new lock, in addition to the pricing to the setup for the same lock she has. These are simple questions. I had given information of everything I was looking for to them and they said for me to email a photo of the doorway. So i did. And in the I said what she looked for. A working code that is electronic lock. Not too much to ask for I did not think. They reacted to my email. Which did not offer any pricing, name of merchandise or details. So I phoned and asked them to send over a recommendation as my boss's door is unlocked until I have the setup organized. They guaranteed to have something over to me shortly. This was roughly 11am - by 5pm I had not received anything. So I more stressed this was a really simple arrangement and the urgency and phoned. Im infuriated by the way since I should be certain to get this advice, even though I had requested it 3 times I had been spoken to. For I hadn't got any info I composed an email with concern. 20 minutes later I obtained an image of a lock with no price or name, that was than what I requested a very different proposal.

They completely ignored my worries and revealed no maintenance for improvement. It was not possible to get exactly what I wanted and got worse from there, but I am done writing about these idiots. I asked why they would charge so much and called a supervisor, and they had no answer in any way. They said thank you and hung up on me. So beyond rude. Work with someone who feels the need wish business? I'm a assistant and deal with company relations . Never have I seen an whole company fail so viciously.
For a lack of better words, this corporation should rot in a pool of slime.
I ask for a lock with a Key override(as orginally asked ) and for price and details, so he sends over a pic of 2 locks without a price tag, details, or title. I then ask for the price(price of goods and price of installation) and title of merchandise for the two locks, and then he sends over one price, not specifying cost of installation or which of the locks cost $895. I looked online for the lock's purchase price, along with the lock through the manufacturer cost 100$, another cost $300. They were trying to bill $895 for lock. These folks should not be men and women, since they don't care that they are ripping people off and dont even care. I expressed my feelings because I felt because they desired nothing to do with our business.
Literally worst customer service I might have experienced. Horrible. I can't believe I am wasting my time , but that disturbs me very much. They are also ripping all their customers off I'm sure.

The charge was lower and I was more than satisfied. I will undoubtedly call Abbey, if I need a locksmith !
I needed to get a lock and a new peephole. Abbey Locksmith was suggested by the building manager. They quite reasonably / exceptionally priced, although for the quality of support I received you would expect them to be the most pricey in town.
My locksmith had all supplies with him and showed up within the first 15 minutes of my two hour time window. He started to work instantly and explained what he was doing because he went.
When he finished the lock and went to commence the peephole, he clarified that the kind of peephole I purchased was both very expensive and would appear ugly. He suggested an alternative, a smaller hole on the side of the doorway as opposed to a one at the centre. He screwed the current one closed for me (it is a classic ), and added the hole on the side.

The men are quite nasty, inconsiderate and exceptionally rude.
A business run by rude people who do a terrible job - how hard is it to install a lock? Or to correct one? I'd give 0 stars if I could. Never utilize Abbey Locksmith. I don't usually write reviews, but have to later this - . Don't rely on them, your locksmith round the corner is much better.
I had them install a lock in my apartment, it stopped working two weeks afterwards and I got locked out of my apartment. Then they installed another lock (after telling me what a bad job the first man did). 9 months later on my way to work my front door wouldn't lock. Abbey was phoned by me at and they told me someone would be there between 10-12, no one came by 1 pm. They also tried to tell me they were going to bill me for the visit and a lock, although all of this was their setup and job.

Now, my"I have ta be me and dwell alone" mother and I feel safe and content that she's in a secure place and I've a couple more dollars to send her to a cruise OR pay for time on a psychologist's couch;-RRB-.
Within my:-RRB- has a customer for life.
When my 87 y/o mother decided that somebody had entered her apartment, eliminated images of her long deceased and divorced husband(HUH?!) And helped themselves into the final of the meatballs and spaghetti in her refrigerator and did not have the common decency to clean the plate properly (paging Goldilocks?) , I contacted Abbey Locksmith and asked a Medeco lock be installed on her flat's door as I know them to be one of the greatest locks on the marketplace. . The locksmith advised me that a less expensive lock would burst after surveying the existing environment ( doorman bldg w/ CCTV system during ).
It was refreshing to deal with a business that doesn't feel as though every dollar was the last they'll ever make.

In a word Pompous, Inept, and Expensive (okay, three words). They have returned twice to mend, every time charging me and installed two locks incorrectly. Now my Nanny and young children are locked from the flat. Abbey was phoned up by me and first thing out of the mouth was user error. I decided to find a client and had a few choice words for them. Stick with the guys, Abbey is too big for their britches.
