As soon as I decided I wanted to be able to lock this door, I thought I was going to need to replace the whole doorknob and locking mechanism which looked bad and would have cost much more. Instead I got a secret made for a moderate price while I waited a couple of minutes. I love doing business! And I am so glad I found this repair store!
Thank you, Yelp - I would have found this place even though it is close to my own property. That is exactly why I love living in Alameda. Independent businesses of customer support that is personal. I asked to get a skeleton key for a door lock from one of the doorways in my house and parked in front. I've never seen you, although that lock had a secret.

The store is a old neighborhood business that dates back to 1901. It specializes in glass, keys, locks and window fix, tool sharpening, lawn mower and small engine services. Key blanks of different sizes line the walls behind the counter and I knew I came to the ideal location. Joe greeted me and asked what I wanted. He got the blanks and cut on the keys I asked. The service was speedy and the prices were so fair, $2.25 each for the only cuts and $3.50 each for the double cuts.
I needed to get a couple since it arrived with just two extra keys created, Once I set up a locking mailbox. I went to Home Depot and they didn't carry the blanks. I then went to our regional Pagano's Hardware and the blanks weren't carried by them too. They referred me to Alameda Repair Shop and stated they would have the blanks.
Joe and I spoke about the and package and mail security in his store. This is a neighborhood business encounter where you take the breeze with the shop owner. I will be back to get keys.

I tried it, and got set of key in my front door and the key got stuck. Called up and Joe (owner) came within 30 minutes. He managed to pull it out, and made some adjustments to two of the 4 copies to make it work. Asked to get a discount, and he did. THANK YOU JOE! You are our savior today!

Outstanding Locksmith. I purchased a machine which has the round locks onto it which you find. My machine came with no keys. Joe worked his magic and I brought it here and he made the two keys for me that it needed. I could not be more happy price also. Thanks Guys

I came back for a half and a month since I had been having problems with the key sticking and not turning the lock. Chris explained that the cold moist weather causes the lock and that was adjust the lock a bit.
Got our new place and an unfortunate instance with a contractor forced the locks to change. Took the lock to re-key Chris and got. $25 out the door in under 10 min. Well worth it for them to come to you, than paying.

Three strikes. You're outside. Their motto could be"jack of all trades but master of none".
Employed them 3 times. When paying for the purchase price of a professional support is expected by me.
The knives came back tough as though they had been run onto a wheel. I had to finish myself.
3) They mended the pins onto a door lock that was becoming hard to unlock. The lock now works perfectly so they get a star, but the bolt knob was positioned by them incorrectly.
1) They cut tempered glass plate and chipped the corner (3/8"x1") and expected me to carry it as is. Didn't even offer a discount. I refused and another was left by them. A client shouldn't need to ask to find work.

This store is capable and dependable. Down to earth kinda men who cut to the chase the moment you call. I have locked myself out of my home about three times since I moved here. They came whatever the hour. Price for support that is excellent. Thanks!

Weird place. I removed and brought a lawnmower blade into Alameda Repair Shop once to have it sharpened. They charged me $18.00 to muster, which appeared high. I went home and found I could purchase a brand new mower for $16.00 from Amazon; (2 blades for $28). Shipping saves me two trips to the mechanic. I went to have 2 padlock keys. Charged me $5.00; that was high compared to Paganos ($4.00) or Home Depot ($3.00). More offputting was the clerk at the lock store was wearing a large video camera onto his shirt, and explained he was video recording me and every client that comes to the store"to keep everybody on their best behaviour". Seemed paranoid. Will probably visit Encinal or Paganos Hardware time I want a secret!

About COMMUNITY: Came to the Store with a situation. A bit of vinyl was stuck deep within my car ignition. After some effort, the store couldn't work out how to assist, but he supplied me with another alternative; he gave me a business card of a local locksmith who was able to do the job. I'm always impressed when a business places the needs of the customer first, even if it means not gaining financial profit and puts its business. So here I am, as I was not able to make a payment for their service supplying a review. THANK YOU!!!!

Excellent service!! Called to see if I could get car keys then went in later that day. It took about 10 minutes maximum to get them cut for $3 each. Definitely suggested!

Always helpful when I come with my keys.... Hard to locate blanks.... But he seems and seems until He finds it. . My keys are from overseas.... But he gets it done

Following two unsuccessful trips to Pagano's to obtain an auto key made for a car, an employee there recommended Alameda Repair Shop. I was out and in over a few minutes, and the key worked perfectly. This will be my go-to place for keys!

I had to get some keys made last minute and decided last minute to test out Alameda Repair shop. Having keys duplicated is not the most enjoyable undertaking, but I had a fantastic conversation with the owner and also better time playing with"Minnie" who is the resident pooch at the store.

Not merely did he do a spectacular job, he offered me good advice to keep my generator always ready to go and healthy. Run it once a month, drain the carburetor & keep it running healthy. Do not allow the gas sit for more than a month.
The gasoline engine of my generator needed Chris and some attention was the man for the job. I NEED IT, when I need it and I use it, although it is a Honda generator, about 10 years old. I tested the generator Monday and had a generator project on a Friday. It wouldn't run with the choke off. Problem was, I let it sit . I took it on Monday to Chris and he rebuilt the carburetor. It was ready on Wednesday afternoon! He didn't need parts. . .he only had to clean the carb.
Thank you!
I have this scheduled in my smartphone. This includes refreshing the gasoline by placing the month-old gasoline in my cars and refilling the gasoline cans and running the generator.

Alameda Repair Shop saved me tonight! I had a secret that I needed to copy, and had taken it to three different stores... Everybody else had failed. Joe and Chris did a habit crucial function and... Magically, it worked flawlessly!
Thanks, gentlemen, you're truly,"The kings of secrets!"

I went today for the very first time, chasing after a particular key. They had it, and that I have spares. Reasonably priced, it will be my go. I am going to try their knives sharpening solutions, after reading the testimonials.

Run, don't walkto get your house door lock repaired by Joe (owner). He came to our house, mended our 1927 Fernside old style door lock just like the pro that he is. Our door lock was giving us grief for years. I finally called and he mended the repair somebody else utilized his graphite, took out the little screws. The moment he walked up to the door he knew what was wrong. He did not tinker about figuring out it as he travelled. To top it off, he let Carl, our 11 year old son, watch and explained the mechanics. What a cure, it felt really great to hand him our money. He does a good deal of other work besides brass dead locks that are bold! Maintain the business in Alameda!!!
I strongly suggest his business!! and this guy
Rosa Montes Goldberg

Absolute lifesaver! From 10:30, known as Alameda Repair at 10:13 and I locked myself out of the house they were at my door. The technician Joe was wonderful. He was courteous and kind and started my door in moments. Cost was reasonable! I strongly suggest them.

Because it would not start I took my lawnmower there. 3 months after it begins but the exhaust is bent up and this man wants me to think it was similar to that once I took it there....not!!!

The pull string on my lawnmower broke and I had NO clue how to fix it even. Anyway, I found this awesome location and went for lawnmower repair to good ole yelp. Not only was the pull series fixed by him two days before he said he would, but for no charge my mower was tuned up by him and cleaned it up a little. Great customer service! Bonus was his dog who greets you in the door! :)
