B & B Hardware

B&B Hardware is a treasure for Long Beach & Southern CA. Walking through their organized historic customs has stored my husband and I cash and time in our house restoration. Tom, the owner, has great integrity and is knowledgeable. B & B has been a trusted touchstone for us as we've renovated our 1931 duplex. Fun working with someone who understands much about interval work.

Tom and his wife, Noon were da response to my prayers and my mother. They were considerate and educated using a classic door lock, door knobs and a mailbox to craft men.
We live not too far sothey were able to come out and help with minor repairs. We suggest a visit. It is is worth da appear around. One can find things that can't be find elsewhere; a genuine diamond in the rough...

What a shop! I looked for a hard to find item and Tom was did not hesitate to help me. I had been with no luck to Lowes and Home Depot. B & B Hardware had exactly what I needed. It is well worth the trip to check them out!

This location is a treasure chest of classic items that Long Beach wants! I discovered glass pulls and brass drawer pulls for my bathroom and kitchen. The cost is more than you'll pay in big box stores but the caliber. Noon was awesome and helped me find exactly what I was seeking! I will be back in their Signal Hill shop often. A location so near CA Heights!

This location is a neighborhood treasure! My husband and I have a location at Rose Park South and Tom was a godsend in helping us keep and fix our doors and windows, always about the way to do the work ourselves educating us in the process. The store has a ton of cool bits as well, for improving the elderly houses in the region, perfect. Whenever we've got an issue, we rely on B&B to help get the work done!

An unbelievable group of period hardware ideal for maintaining and rebuilding your home. Tom helped us select a custom mahogany screen door for our 1922 Mediterranean Revival. Tom was not happy with the stain and worked together with the manufacturer to have it made. It is ideal and will be a part of our home for many, many years. Today, our door wouldn't shut. Tom to the rescue!

Beautiful things, great deals, and friendly staff. We were searching for an antique door to use for our walk-in cabinet and we're eager to see their choice of doors. Found the best one for a fantastic price. We will definitely be going back!

This place did not have it but in 2 minutes had located it, ordered it, and had it on hand for pickup by lunch.
I had a particular doorknob, and had looked at Ace, Lowes, and Home Despot, in addition to the internet.
The owner took a bit and I was not feeling the love, but something clicked and the next thing I knew he had. I guess he is the kind that needs a moment to translate out of my lay person's speech into"Experience"

I really like B & B Hardware and have been a customer for several decades, even before he moved out of his North Long Beach place to his place much nearer to me. It makes it ramble through Tom collection of antique hardware as well as light fixtures, doors, windows, and furniture and a whole lot more convenient to go over to B & B! I have bought light fixtures and vintage hardware on numerous occasions to help restore my Spanish-Mediterranian Revival home built in 1921. Tom has provided superior service with repair and installation of fixtures in my home to me as well. He has a trained eye for vintage items and layout, and is always welcoming and friendly. In case you haven't been there yet, you owe yourself a trip simply to have fun and browse around the wonderful variety of"found items" at B & B!

So in this massive election season, keep in mind that a few of the several things you want require a bourgeoisie (Trump-like) budget and you may need to think about lowering your expectations to the proletariat (Bernie Sanders) budget and rescue for those expensive products. Nothing is free and the difference between these two candidates couldn't be wider. Luckily, I needed a sconce and not a huge one. It wasn't to be discovered here so I will continue to seek out. I will just keep on looking. . .gotta stand out there. However, when Hillary takes the reins, it is going to be 4 more years of what I came a whole lotta nothin' review that is this and good goes to hell in a hand-basket and I will never find my damn sconces.
Everything will probably be HUUUGE when Donald Trump wins the election. I guess this gallery of hardware history will probably be HUUUGE! Of the modest baubles, bells and bangles are here. Cut crystals mix together with iron things of unknown origins. Doors, knobs, insets, whatever you might need to complete Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Craftsman home or your Long Beach bungalow-from-the-past.
Then you appear and take a deep breath. WTH! I have seen many places, places where I have seen lights. . All these lamps were built for some major construction, an epic structure, a construction which might support a head as big as Trump's.

But wait, there's more-look up, the lighting....be nevertheless my vintage loving heart. A few of the lights in this area are truly amazing-giant hanging lanterns-wherever did these lovelies come out of...I inquired Tom, the owner and they came from an old hotel-they are pieces of art I inform you.
I could spend hours wandering round this gem of a shop. The hardware choice is H U G E, door knobs of every variety, age and style-priced fairly well. I have something for Toms costs are good and crystal door knobs and the choice is better
I had been walking this morning and happened by this business that is wonderful, B&B Hardware:-RRB- I'm a picker so I don't like to pay retail, Toms costs are so reasonable I will be back to purchase some antiques. Vintage Bauer coffee pot w/wooden lid $30-why yes please:)
Are you into"Saving the pink bathroom movement" If yes, then its your lucky day. Does B&B sell vintage hardware, knobs, lighting, but they also sell vintage kitchen and bathroom fixtures, including that enviable pink base sink you need to substitute as well as the matching toilet and fixtures!
Outside, there are doors-beautifully created out of strong wood with amazing little details that todays"goods" simply don't have, you will find these antiques at Home Depot. Offers installation service if necessary.
It requires a lot to impress me and this business did that. The proprietor Tom has amassed exceptional, one of a kind vintage pieces that are priced to sell and well organized as well as a massive choice of vintage hardware. We live in a neighborhood and if we did some remodeling and door replacement, B&B Hardware was recommended by our interior designer. She uses all the time to them, and it's easy to see why once you meet them and see their inventory. They have always been helpful and inspired in their product suggestions and repair/replacement assessments. We have had a wooden screen door that was new, as well as custom French doors painted and installed through B&B. Through time we've just had a couple problems with the doors (due to weather and changing earth) and they have come and fixed the problems immediately for no charge.

Are awesome!! I thought my lock my front door has been broken. Tom came from the very next day to fix it himself and it was not broken. He even checked out the locks and showed me the way to use it. Will definitely be back in his shop as we work to revamp our"vintage" home. B&B Hardware is an example of a tiny local companies with superior customer services.

B and B Hardware has a terrific choice & is helpful! We have a 1925 home & they also did replacing one of our inside doors & an excellent job fitting to match the remainder of our doors. On another occasion, we phoned them to replace another 90+ year old door that we had given up on and they arrived out and made a slight repair to our door for Free! We were so happy to continue to keep our beautiful door that is original. We'll definitely return to them with any hardware demands later on. Great enterprise!

I predicted B&B in frustration, trying to learn what to do about a front door lock. Although, Tom isn't a locksmith, his wife and he drove over to my house to'have a look' so I could be better advised by them. I was in shock that someone, out of the goodness of the heart, could provide to do that.
I can not say enough great things about his wife Nuon and B&B Hardware owner Tom. They've a shop with tons of items for a lot of the homes around Long Beach. But that is not why I'm writing this specific review.
And he n't tried to sell me like a'brand new' doorway from his shop. He was only trying to help a'neighbor' out. They recommended another business that could fix it, identified the issue and pulled on the lock from the doorway. Then they got back in their truck and drove away.
Tom phoned me to check in and see my problem has been solved the following day. These are them both, a few uncommon, quality people. I respect the way.
The place he advocated ( Broadway Locksmith Shop ) hand-crafted a new part in a few hours and now I'm back in business and may enter and depart now through the working front door.
I will go out of my way to support this business that has caring people in the helm.

Immediate and generous with my semi-emergency request! My 100-year-old craftsman's front door has had"stickiness" issues because I moved in, and last night it finally gave out in spectacular fashion when it got so stuck shut that the drive it took to open it wrecked the jamb, making it impossible to fully lock and shut the door . Thankfully, in the road, the door appeared shut, so that I left a rather voicemail until I could close my front door but I could not really feel secure. I didn't expect to listen for another day since this was a Saturday night, however, Tom called me back on his off day Sunday and used the little spare time he and his wife Noon (so sorry if the spelling is wrong; this is how her name is pronounced) needed to come assess and briefly patch up my door situation until we could schedule time for the full repair. He explained he was doing and also what the real issues were as he did quick work, that I really valued. Excited about working with them on the full fix.

Very helpful. They have a massive choice of hardware and components. Let me have a part home to try with no charge.
