The first time I called Edwards, it was because we had a burst pipe on Super Bowl Sunday morning -- it was a desperation move, because it was the weekend, but they sent out someone and I had been happy with his work. The next time I wanted a plumber, I phoned someone else (Mitch's) just to see and suffice to say, I was not impressed. They basically blew me off and I predicted Edwards who came straight away.
Edwards Plumbing is going to be my first call from now on!
I had a tech come to my house today. I called three additional regional plumbers, and not one returned my phone. Edwards answered on the first ring, and sent someone out the next day. They have always been prompt, courteous, efficient, clean, and considerate.

I called for an estimate. They said they would be there between 1-5 on Tuesday. Tuesday morning they called me at 7:30AM and desired to come right then. I said no, the appointment was for 1-5 that day. That day came and went, and they never showed up. The next day they called and wanted to reschedule for Thursday (the next day) between 1-5. And they never showed for that appointment . On Friday, they left me a voicemail 1PM saying they needed to come. Enough is enough.
If it's that hard to get their attention when you wish to purchase from them, imagine how hard it will be to get them to actually DO the work.

Do not hire this provider. I had a problem with one of my lines going to the septic tank. It had been going slow and following Edwards billed me $475.00 to snake itthey informed me that the external fitting needed to be changed to be able to snake it in the outside. They wanted $2600.00 to correct this! Well...I hired someone else along with the fitting was just nice. Had some work done and was billed $500.00 to correct the job. The person that came out did not invest sufficient time trouble-shooting the matter.

Organized Firm with Support DO NOT HAVE EDWARDS DO YOUR WORK. They're disorganized and don't operate as a company that was legitimate. I sincerely hope if they're spending the time to gather they are in severe need as I assume this company goes bankrupt.
Nonetheless, I remember this episode. I became the most effective individual and paid the rest because I know the work was really done (although at this stage who knows if it was done properly, or what scope of the work was necessary at the first place). However I just want this over with. I happen to be fortunate enough to have the ability to cover this seemingly and outstanding bill that is illegitimate.
They came out again fairly quickly (who wouldn't, for that company?!) . Now I got an estimate of over $4,000 because they'd have to tear down the wall, fix the pipe, spend 3 days and rebuild the wall. So I proceeded this seemed necessary at the time. I paid approximately $.

In summary, I'm flat out not certain this company is valid. They shouldn't get paid if they can't document correctly. I am a doctor and there is NO WAY I'd get payment when I tried to pull something like that.
Edwards did come out and substituted the heater. But, I never obtained a receipt for your heater, documentation/instruction manual and warranty for your heater despite asking numerous times (I still haven't obtained it). Following the heater has been fixed, I had a pipe leak at the wall of my finished basement (related to increased calcium in the water that caused the heater difficulty at the first place). Now I'd water leaking through the walls into the basement carpeting itself and the water turned off and called Edwards again.
July 2019 come. I get a letter from an attorney stating I owe $2,700+ from the work done back in 2015. I'm not sure this remains collectible. Secondly, I NEVER RECEIVED AN INVOICE. I presumed that the cost with my insurance had settled. I never heard until they decided to have a lawyer involved, that I owed Edwards a cent.
Until I received an invoice for the work 13, I refused to pay. Is a collection of a list of work done plus that arrived to my house to what day and what time. This can be on a non-official letterhead. There's no itemized list of prices including supplies, labour, etc..

After requesting a forth time how much to replace the detector, he said"A few hundred dollars but he would need to confirm the purchase price of the part and the components places were closed on Saturday". He then went on and on about replacing the tank. (I guess I would expect such pressure strategy from a car salesperson but maybe not from a plumber). The service telephone fee that was $60 was paid by me and he had been on his way.
I am beginning to doubt that the Edward's guy that came out was a plumber at all. I could bet he had been a SALESMAN. He had no instrument belt, never bent down to have a look at anything or the water heater. Just lots of very high pressure trying to sell something to me which I did not desire, also at very inflated prices.
Here's what: I guess what and then did some on line? The detector is $30 retail because it's mounted on the exterior of the tank 25, and is a less than 5 min repair. He offered the"countless repair" as a strategy for me to say okay on the brand new $2,800 tank.
This company set up a water heater back. So I had the first problem in those years. The control panel item was blinking 7 lights and pause which indicated a faulty switch something or other. I called to schedule support and explained the issue (service codes). Funny thing is that they couldn't locate me . I thought that was strange since the sticker on the paperwork and the tank stated the tank was set up by them . The support call was prompt-about 3 hours after I predicted.
I said well how just to replace the detector. And again he went on and on to the"company" doesn't like to do this because something else could go wrong. I said I would take my chances. He said what should a gas valve goes out and if the detector is replaced by him and must be substituted? I said I would take my chances. I had to work hard to catch him from this"sell me a brand new tank style" that he had been in.
And oh yea, I checked that tank's cost online also, and it had been retail from a big box shop. So $1,800 labor for an immediate replacement? Everyone is entitled to make a profit in their business, I don't need to be the one paying that man's kids college from a part he pounded me to become a nearly $3,000 sale.
I guess it's no wonder Edward's Plumbing includes a C- rating with the Better Business Bureau (Hindsight, I must have checked that before ever calling them out).
BTW: I called and had a"second opinion" from a different (honest) plumber and guess what? He said"Your tank is completely fine" and just need a sensor, I have one in my truck." Sensor replacement including the support telephone: $125. And I am back in the water.
He had been polite, when the service guy arrived. I took him and he saw instantly the chain that was 7 flashing . I explained to him there has never been a issue with this heater and also how much could it cost to just replace the detector (called a Flammable Vapor Sensor). He went on and on that the tank should be replaced, and lent (instantly like it had been planned-he knew the price), and stated $2,800 to replace the tank.
CAVET EMPTOR!!!!!!!!!!
This Edward's Pipes company isn't interested is currently serving the client, they want to squeeze as much as they can from you.

If I could place no stars I would. We waited for the time period today to happen and scheduled an appointment. After the time frame went by we phoned the company when they came to find out. They stated we are I far we were out of them. It is approximately 5 miles in the most away. Don't squander your own time scheduling as it isn't the first inspection I have noticed where they never showed up and scheduled or called to allow the people understand.

Once I wrote my previous review my telephone call got through to Tom C. and we finally talked about our circumstance. He said the following day, he would call us. This was over three weeks past.
If you're searching for a business which makes things communicates well with customers, Edwards isn't it. Go elsewhere!

We needed a plumber to unclog our drain Friday afternoon. Helper and the plumber worked around 2-1/2 hours and were ineffective. Every time that they did something, they told us before hand. They told us it would be $250 to eliminated the toilet. We were desperate, so we agreed. They tried to perform the jacuzzi tub and had been ineffective in snaking the toilet sinks. They never bothered to try the kitchen sink. They stated they would be back before 10a with a camera and snake on Saturday. We called 3 different times on Saturday and they kept saying that they had been on the way. Finally at 6p they stated they would be back Sunday morning. We predicted on Sunday we waited all day and when he didn't show up and that he was no series. Monday morning that they said he was on his way. We predicted at noon and they made up the excuse that he needed to stop and buy some parts. Finally at 2p, a different plumber was predicted by us and cancelled out appt. with Edwards. We were charged $850 for a job never finished. The plumber we predicted in Benjamin Franklin unplugged the kitchen drain in 20 minutes. He reviewed the pricing at a laptop before he got started, so we understood the cost of everything before he got started. My husband needed to reinstall the toilet , put the drains back together, and the drain back in the jacuzzi bathtub,

Costumer service that is worst experience I've ever had. Wish I could give them a zero. Edward's does work. . .when they make it and should they get you a quote. Scheduling with them is a nightmare. They either don't show up at all (no call or something, after us having to take the time off work), or make claims which they don't keep. You speak with someone different every time, If you phone, and not one of them communicate with one another. We have had a broken a/c for a week, and after being promised someone would come out last Friday, we had to beg them to really show up (apparently there was a mistake in scheduling). The guy that came was about having to be there on a Friday afternoon, salty. Then we had been promised a quote by Saturday morning and still nothing. We have 85+ degree days this week, and while they finally got us a quote, a week later we requested for one- come to find out, it was waaaaaay above what others companies would bill (for the same product). So we got a quote from someone else, but now we won't have had air for two weeks. I am very disappointed because we've given them loyal company over several years and they simply don't seem to care if they keep us as costumers. We will let .

They were quick to emerge and friendly, although the very first trip I had with them was quite expensive for the service. I was somewhat concerned that the drain auger seemed to be faster than I'd done a year before by a different service, which maintained difficulties in our plumbing.
Waste of money and time - rent an auger call, or to do it yourself if you have the time.
As I'd not heard back anything, Soon after 6pm, I called the business, and the window was going to be finished. The customer service agent apologized about that, and said that they were running behind. Fifteen minutes later , the same agent called back to say the tech was on the road, but that recall services wouldn't apply to drains, and the same high fee would be charged to have this done , and he had misspoken before. I stopped this , since the service fee was higher than calling other businesses nearby.
Three weeks later, the service's rate showed that the issue was not cared for properly, and had been pushed . When I called the company, they set up a 6 six hour window to the following day, from 1 to 7pm, also said they'd call out an hour. The customer service agent also noted unless it was an unrelated issue, that they would take care of this as a recall.

I told him that I would go to have the sink repaired. I did (for the same"bargin" price that he quoted me).
We were again scheduled by them quickly and Edwards was then known as by us back, and told us that they would not charge us and would return out. Travis came out, and he said it would need to be replaced and that the hot water valve wasn't working, after assessing different possibilities. He swaped the water hose that is warm into the cold water valve to demonstrate that the hose worked properly and that the valve has been the issue. He again discussed this with his manager who offered us $165 and I told him that I thought that was a little bit considering we had been previously told (depending on the original diagnosis) that the new faucet was likely to take care of the issues (that is part of the reason we all agreed to what we thought was a really large cost ). He came back with a new price of $125 that I reluctantly agreed to and went back into his manager.
We called Edwards because our kitchen sink had been having a problem with reduced pressure and then , we started to get leaking of this sink and needed it to be mended. They could schedule us quickly, because using 3 children, it's tough to be without a kitchen sink, which has been helpful. Travis, was that the plumber and he reached the house. He was very courteous and pleasant. He said that we had a new faucet that would solve the problems with the leaking and the strain and diagnosed the problem. After conversation with his manager we got a quote of about $675 for the part and the installment which we thought was very high but we had the sink repaired ASAP so we told him to go ahead (the faucet is a builder's standard faucet with no brand on it). He finished the sink and the setup no more leaked however, the water pressure did not return.
The sink was again working well until about two hours after he abandoned once at exactly what I would describe as slightly more than a trickle, the cold water started to come out. We again called Edwards to discuss the issue and scheduled an appointment for 1pm-7pm (that was the timeframe for all the appointments) when we were available to be home for that long timespan. We have a call at 6:50 out of Travis who asked"what's the issue now?" . I again discussed this with him and he talked to his manager stating it'd be another $125 to resolve the cold water valve. I thought it was getting fairly ridiculous at this point, and because he could not help me any further with the extra expenses, I requested to talk with his manager who had apparently gone home for the day (it was 6:50pm). He explained the following morning that he'd call me back. I never got a telephone. The day after that I phoned them. I had to tell the whole story to each individual which I got transfered to (3 in totoal) when I eventually got to Tom, who was the manager. We discussed the problem at length. He told me it was a problem and I asked if he thought it was a coincidence that it started to not work hours after his plumber had left the house. He explained"it probably was" that I thought was interesting! He explained that before allowing me know he again wanted to talk to Travis. I was at work that afternoon, so once I had a second if I could call him, I asked and he explained that I could. I called about an hour later and got his voicemail. So I phoned again hoping to catch him before he left for the day no call back but he was gone. The following day, I had to call and eventually got a hold of him. He would be another $125 and basically said that it was a issue to fix it. He asked me how far I thought they ought to charge and I said that I thought it ought to be part of this $800 that I had already paid to get this issue fixed. His reply was"that's absurd".
Allow me to first say that I don't write these kind of reviews but I felt that I had to.

I phoned them out for service on a drain, it was suppose to cost 59.95 for the diagnostic and they knew it had been in a crawlspace and then once I got the bill they added an additional $40 whenever they had $1200 to fix it. Buyer beware may visit the BBB because of this.

Called another plumber with referal said he Can teach me the Way to Repair it or repair for 200

Updated - 7/2/16------------------------
Thanks to the owner for taking the time to address my concerns. It is very rare nowadays in which an owner would reach out to a customer that has submitted a negative review...
I determined that I needed a second water meter. I contacted EPH to get a quotation whether the service charge would be there and to see.

Drew came out to get an quote and the ceremony was scheduled for the next Saturday. I was anticipating Drew again, but it turns out Mr. Edwards sent out Bob, who is one of his foreman. Bob and yet another plumber did a wonderful job. They needed to go get some parts, but were back over an hour and completed the job fast and the work was great and they were very professional.
I'm glad EPH was given a second opportunity by me. They went over and beyond to get my company back. Bob was asked by me to get a quote to get a Water Heater Heater. We will get it all installed, although it's was a bit high for my budget. EPH will be the company I call.
I will confess, I was skeptical at first. Some businesses would forget a charge was given. But not EPH. The charge was there and they promised me it would be implemented to my service request.
My faith as been revived with Heating and Edward Plumbing. After I submitted a negative review I was contacted by the owner directly. He was apologetic and very sincere and wished to win my company back. He was generous enough to give me a service charge on a future occupation.

I contacted Edwards Heating and Plumbing seeing a leaking garbage disposal at my rental home a week (9/11). I had been told they don't offer specific quotes over the telephone when I'd allow them to examine it and give me a 36, but they would waive the service fee. I consented. In 3:35pm I got a call the plumber has been to my home on his way. At 5:00 the plumber stating that job has been completed contacted me and that I owed $480. I was SO upset. I never got a quote to the work being completed by them, and that I never consented. In addition, he installed a standard, 1/2 HP Badger (retails at Lowes for $99). The job comprised NO additional or new pipes or any electrical work. It is a 6 year old home. I was contacted the next day with a manager and after several back and forth conversations, I had been given the option of paying $325 to shut the accounts or $59 to have them all come out and take the disposal out of the home. There was NO way my tenants would be inconvenienced by me so that I felt pressured into paying. I feel that I was taken advantage of.

Edwards Heating and Plumbing provided us with excellent customer service in receiving a skilled plumber out there to our condo to correct the kitchen sink pipe between the garbage disposal and also provide us an answer and estimate for fixing our humidifier water line and also for conducting a water line into our garage. Rick Fife was a really fine when he wore shoe covers, and explained everything he was doing while he explained the answer and made the repair came and quotations for the water line and the water line repair for the humidifer. He came at 6pm which enabled me to be in a position to not have to miss work after my work . I would utilize Heat and Edwards Plumbing and Rick Fife for our HVAC and plumbing needs. They are highly recommended by me as a repair and plumbing professional as a business and Rick.

Skilled technicians, Immediate support. I had a sewage pump installed (I know that it's a simple matter to do yourself but I did not want the hassle). Mark Edward was quite knowledgeable in the phone. His guys only took 30min to perform. was 164 As it came to paying after the cost of the pump. Before is the main reason for the 4 rather than 5 24, it might have been nice to have known about that travel fee.

Ann Arbor, nathan Moger, 2-10-17
A tech came to my house and gave me a quote. He finished around 9PM, also did not have the tools and components to complete the task, so told me to call and program with the main office.
They did not subtract the estimate fee as they stated they would. I spoke with a manager yesterdayand he explained that I"had waited too long" (two weeks) following the estimate to schedule the project, and that"they have costs."
That of course is only going to help if I pay an additional $350 + for their own services, although the manager did charge me $50 for job.
So, though I had been promised that the $59 fee would be taken off my invoice that is final, and the tech did not even have the components to finish the task on the visit, they wouldn't honor their advertised and pricing.
The quality of work was great, but I was shocked that they promises and wouldn't honor their advertising.
The $59 estimate fee would not be credited by edwards Plumbing though they guaranteed that they would and promoted.
I called and educated, and they did the job.

AWFUL! Update: I call back to talk to the owner and my name is taken by the secretary and asks what I am calling about. I clarified it was poor service and I said it was disappointing not to receive an apology. She hangs up on me and calls me an a $ $ hole. Easily, the company I dealt with!
The unprofessional from the owner kind of tell the story. I phoned them today to repair a kitchen faucet handle and they gave me a time frame of between 1 and 4, saying it would most likely be 2ish. I call roughly 230 asking how long it would be and they said another 30 to 45 minutes. I call back and wait another 45 minutes again. . .they said the plumber simply hung up didn't give me an eta and got stuck in traffic. I wait for another hour and phone again, now they say the plumber isn't answering his phone, but they are sure he is in Ann Arbor and that they will call me back. The following 10 minutes go by and no call back from them. So I call back and ask to talk. No communication from the plumber WHO NEVER SHOWED UP and unprofessional and very poor communication from the office, In conclusion. Two hours of my day totally wasted.

My furnace broke mid-evening so had to phone in for emergency support. My support man, Joe, was amenable quite professional, and educated. He found the issue, fixed it and for a reasonable price, particularly because it was away hours. Will call. Thanks Joe!
