I Predicted G&H Guardian Lock & Key on Saturday morning and spoke to Randy. I let him know I needed my own locks changed and he said that day that he could come out. He called to let me know he had been on his way and in under an hour I had locks on all of my doors. Seriously what business now days can you call and get them to come out the day. This to me is 5 stars worthy. Randy is super fine down to earth & genuinely wants to help out you. The cost was that I thought very reasonable too. With taxation came to $113 for two locks with two replacement keys.
I would utilize Randy in G&H again and highly recommend them dependent on the service I received this weekend.
Randy was fantastic. We had a situation where we needed someone to come out fast and upgrade our locks. Randy came out in 24 hrs. To appraise the situation and the very following day at which he deployed *4 deadbolts in a marathon session. Very considerate, very proficient. Thanks to Megan S. additionally for her review!
Afterwards, a well known Columbus locksmith said that for"incompatible" the interior tumblers would have to be changed at $15 each.
We called Randy and asked a best guess estimate for 4 doorways to be re-keyed. He said approximately $175. When he arrived, he said since they were not compatible (whatever that meant), he'd want to change some hardware. Though my husband told him to go at no time did he ever give an notion of the increased prices to us. Thought ethical people would provide us a prices number, not"well, hardware will not cost more'. Long story short invoice was 478.38. My husband did make the mistake of writing a check., Shock factor! Never dreamed that the prices would be increased by two lock setup changes .
I also checked the prices of the same name hardware. Half the cost! Perhaps he must purchase them ! I understand I attracted them to him and would have. A deadbolt was replaced by my contractor in a matter of minutes,
I took the recommendation of property company. I did not do homework. Morale of this story....do nothing till you know definite costs because he won't tell you with no direct questions. True, we did not question him because he looked like a good guy, but never ever thought the increase would be $300. He had to up front with the prices.
