Hassett Ace Hardware

Local hardware store; a tiny piece of America, which is tough these days, to see in the Bay. Very helpful staff, also well organized, albeit small.

Ace cashier:"I do not understand, but let me ask somebody." (Then he calls somebody, speaks to that person for 20 seconds). He then tells me"You can find that halfway down aisle # on the left hand ."
Can you tell me where it's in the store."
Within 20 seconds I find exactly what I need and buy it.
I was looking for much more help than that I got from Home Depot and found it here. And their products appear to be of higher quality. I'll be back.
I leave the store, after waiting 15 minutes in the drywall aisle with no helper.
Ace Hardware experience:
Hope depot worker (doing the very best she can):"I'd be delighted to send a person to assist you at that aisle."
Me:"I am trying to find some drywall joint compound is something less than a giant barrel dimensions and cannot find it. Can somebody assist me?"
I overlook and happy, and OSH that Ace is there to fill the gap.
Home Depot experience:

Paint colours are blended downstairs while you wait. You can walk for a coffee, and the paint will be ready on your return.
Really knowledgeable and friendly staff.

WOW cool place to store they have an enormous choice for a small store.One day I needed to eliminate a shelve and forgot to bring my cordless drill,so I went searching to purchase a new one and when I said that I just needed to eliminate a few screws the clerk said I could use their drill and return it afterwards.

Thanks, I will turn on my warmth without fretting about my air filters raining down toxic smoke particles.
We decides to do the big box store with staff didn't have & a small house maintenance. Shocker!

- I am usually not a fan. I really don't get it? When I want something, this will be my first stop.
Not actually a fan of the staff or store but 1 guy went above and beyond.
- I have a fantastic bargain on Holiday lights as well.
Why a 5 despite my remarks that are negative? Service in retail is dead. Whenever someone goes above & beyond what they do, you realize it.
We decided to try out they'd 1 trim on another to match & this place.

The choice, depending on what you're looking for, is less than Lowe or Home Fepot's. Who has time is in the city? They also have a huge range of Weber products and green Egg products, which are the main items that I shop for here. The prices are fairly near Amazon, so why not support the regional businesses? Support and I'll continue to come back. The single star off is as soon as the staff have to restock the shelves and to get the distance. There is virtually no room so come back to get to where I want to go and that I often have to walk to the end of an aisle to pass. Then I have to walk the other way back. Oh well, at least I am getting my measures in!

I have been going to this hardware shop for over 30 years. I asked for assistance and had a twist. Two young men (workers ) were incredibly rude to me, making me feel very stupid and that I didn't understand what I wanted. I attempted to describe what I had a couple of times but they became noticeably frustrated. Thats when they began to become rude and aggressive. I noticed that they when dealing with me and were very respectful to the customers that are male that they were brief and impatient. I believe one kid was the owners son. He certainly didn't care when I called the proprietor. His response was just"alright" He asked me what I wanted from him. I get better support at Home Depot. Hard to believe but true. Small business owners whine about big corporations taking over and the loss of customers... well this is the reason. When you don't care about your customers, why would anybody go to your company.

I intended to write this review two weeks back. I went hoping they would have a battery which my car key/ keychain needed. I went in and as soon as I walked in, a worker asked if he can help me and approached me. He told him"yes" and he understood just what I needed. He walked to the battery section. He was so nice he even put the battery in for me. I was so thankful that I even told him that I would Yelp my experience. I remembered I told him I would Yelp it and so here I am. This will be my go to place for batteries and other items. When I was led towards the front to pay, I discovered they had other things like cleaning supplies, pens, outdoor items, etc.. Give them a go if you need anything such as hardware. Thank you a lot to the employees at ACE in Belmont.

I adore this hardware store! Pretty much anything I want for household repairs I will find here - lots of advice out of a staff that is super-friendly. It is refreshing to have this as a source instead of fretting about vortexes of unhelpfulness such as Home Depot or Target. In addition they have an unexpected choice of quality kitchenware (absolutely anything you require for canning) and locksmith services.

Of course, the large chains are larger, whenever the project is larger, and I go there. They're also more modern and often have alternatives that are newer, simply not ones that are always better.
Old fashioned hardware store texture. Tons of useful things staff members, and site.
I often start off here to get the simplest solution when the spouse reminds me about the thingamabob, worn widget or alternative pain in the throat out. And they generally come through with all the very practical option.
Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks, so that I often leave spending less than expected.

Mary Ann is very educated making that is key, in paint blending and she knows where everything is!
Rich is very valuable but not there all the time. Need more like him.
The shop has changed hands and has been remodeled, now that, it is a move to store.

For what it is, the hardware store has a nice selection. The reason behind the two star review is that the Hassetts, the owner, removed the long standing policy of offering a discount to veterans and military. As one worker said:"The owners don't appreciate veterans or their support and sacrifice to our country."

CASHIER IS NOT PERSONABLE in Any Way -The Ace hardware store in San Mateo is way more friendly.
-The cashier,"Mary Ann", does not greet you and does not even say"thank you" once you make a purchase, perhaps not even a hint of a smile, just drops the cash into your hand. She's a minimalist at the customer service group. One would think they would want to market return business.
-I avoid visiting the shop if at all possible, although they do have a wonderful assortment of merchandise.

But when a toilet flapper tears until I replace the part without disassembling the thing, and I can't flush the toilet, I want quick and simple. I want help to make sure I get the part that is right and don't have to earn a return trip.
And I get fast useful at my local Ace Hardware. No more, no less. That is five stars for me!
I have become accustomed to the colossal nature of big box home improvement stores. And when I am searching for supplies in volume, or when I want to purchase a whole new set of appliances, that's just what I want.

I came to this Ace Hardware and it looks and smells about the same anywhere. The odor of gardening supplies, gear, and knick knacks that were mechanic reminded me of house and I really liked that.
You know, Keymaster of Gozer the Gozerian.
Alright no, just kidding. Therefore I rather had to throw that in there for my boy, Rick 23, Nonetheless, it's the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters.
I got 6 keys and I believe my total was something around $6, and it is a dollar figure than that which it would cost to get a locksmith if and when I lock myself out.

The girl at the counter was kind enough to point me in the direction of this kind-of-unofficial key place (I had been anticipating a designated counter) in which I was met by a pleasant, Jon Voight-like old gentleman who managed to test my keys and make a marginally less exaggerated number of keys compared to'zillion' I'd mentioned previously.

Preparedness.
Though , I AM Candice G and I had been hoping to be the keymaster of my apartment so I came to Carlmont Ace Hardware for receive a zillion copies of the apartment keys that I know I'm probably going shed a billion times over.

It's a shop. That I go there to get a pickup. Support the community. Prices reflect a store but not bad. People treat me each moment and are very useful.

On the few occasions I have been in I've never been for more than 10-15 minutes within the shop. You get help you check out and are done. It really is as quick and effective as it sounds.
Hardware shop.
Come in here if you do not have any idea about anything house maintenance and the staff will allow you to find out it. The group of guys and gals in this shop are friendly about everything and know their stuff.

Mary Ann was useful with obtaining the size bolt nuts and figuring out what battery was compatible with my old bicycle odometer. Nice to have a hardware shop close to your home! :)

Awesome Adventure at Belmont at Ace!Originally I'd been waiting for 4 weeks for this grill in the San Carlos OSH shop. Just to find a different call telling me it would be another couple of weeks. What a joke. I won't be shopping at OSH again. Ace is the place!
I called the shop searching for the manager along with a particular weber grill said when I wanted I could come down and have a look and that he simply put one. I immediately drove down to the shop and bought it and the manager personally sent it . So I had a brand new grill delivered and constructed under an hour, from the time. The manager also gave some stainless wipes along with a grill spatula to me . This entire experience made my day and I can't say enough good things about Ace and he boss at my local Belmont shop! They Rock!
