Called the key man (David) and that he showed up right away, came with a smile, lots of fun. Opened it in no time and cost was cheap!
Would definitely recommend him if you're in need of new locks etc..
I named the key man because I locked myself out of my home and did not wish to wait to watch for my husband for home, which would have been 6 hours later.

Zero! Everything is accurate. The thing a are either fake or they were charmed by him. This guy overcharges (+200$) to get a kit he picked up at Home Depot. Went off about internet businesses and how he doesn't trust the internet for locksmith ads or advice... then I advised him that I found his advertisement on the"net". Went off about dumb people and"non-white stupid men and women who have locked out of their houses". Had to kick him out of my home free of service. His car looked like he lived out of it and I'm COMPELLED to write this dude an overview. Unlike my nature at all. But price and support and attitude has been down right disgusting.

The Key Man (David Thorpe) has mended my door locks and opened cars for me and my friends for decades. He is superior to anybody else in the business. His work is top-notch, and he goes the extra mile to ensure security and your satisfaction.

NO STARS. I can't believe this man has a score. His personality was just AWFUL, although he can be the most knowledgeable person on this planet regarding locks and keys. So awful that this inspection is 2 years overdue and I feel compelled to write regarding our nightmare encounter.
Judge and question you, then insult you and everybody else, if you would like someone to come into your home you take care of in your home in EVERY. POSSIBLE. WAY. (while sluggishly spending 5 hours to fix your locks prior to raping your pocket ), then don't hesitate to call Dave. He's so dedicated to his work and verbal abuse that he just could never leave in the event that you ask him .
Was a door lock and key, but we ended up using something like 5 new locks and 8 keys that we were absolutely unnecessary and didn't ask for, as previous reviewers have said. . I'd understand if he's just an old man searching for friendly business and conversation, but that was a whole other level of"chatty" and all types of wrong, particularly in this day and age.

He is such a sweetheart and he's really good at what he does. He has been doing this for 40 years. He got the job done quite quickly and he arrived within the hour. He will be my go to guy for my locksmith requirements. Two thumbs up!

Dave the key man (this guy is different by"Dave the key man") has been fixing my landlady's locks for over a decade and he's great. He's extremely knowledgeable about locks, keys and doors. His prices are also reasonable. It's always fun to see. And this guy is a crackup, with his head equipment! You can trust this guy. He has been operating for more than 40 decades.

Very knowledgeable! My father found out about him and contacted some locks to be changed by him. He took his time and was very patient. We'll definitely contact him!

Horrible experience. To start with, I may offer the support I needed and predicted before visiting the shop to make certain they are there. NO ONE was in the shop! Then the owner goes on to state the worker is"not all the way there". Spent 30 minutes waiting for the worker to return, and he did.

This man is amazing he got into my location and I didn't need to wait. He got our door unlocked in like 10 seconds! I'm recommending this man to everybody! He is better than the competitors!!!

My last call was into The Key Man. He showed up within 25 minutes. I drove off in another 20 minutes. Mind you, I drive a BMW X5, among the most difficult cars to"break in to" due to the prewired security to prevent break ins. It wasn't simple.
After departing the dentist (on my lunch break lol), I was in such a hurry to get back to work. I pulled into the gas station, and got from my car, dismissing my cars warning signals that the keys were in the ignition, and shut the door that was locked. Paid for my gas and return to my automobile, realizing that it was too late. GREAT! Everybody with an iPhone knows that this will only give me 2-3 calls tops that are great! I call the business, and search google for local locksmiths. They agree to come help me in 4 hours, and the cost would be 300.00 bucks. I predict another. They dont work. I predict another, and they say that my vehicle will take them too much time, so it would be $400.00. That's helpful right?
David managed to unlock my car since he's very experienced (was doing this work for over 20 decades, personable (kept me laughing een though I wanted to shout ), educated (once I told him the type of car I drove, he understood why the other firms had blown me off, but assured me he'd understood how to get in my vehicle), and extremely professional (showed up on time, with his instruments, and apologized for the drama I'd expernced with others). His pricing wasnt ridiculous like others too. I didnt feel taken advantage off like I have in previous dealings with my car (some locksmiths, car sales men, mechanics, etc.. like to get more on women if we arent careful)!

Rude Insensitive, Egotistical, Bigoted, Racist, Hostile. This dude works the 1st being 30min away, in a place together with all the largest Asian population in america. When he has done being indifferent regarding others, he started systematically laying down insult after insult in my family's intelligence, how we've too many secrets, our tidiness (all the'children' arrived hours suitcases anywhere ) and started insulting a household member's'bad' choice of career- said she wasted her time analyzing and will never make money for a physician. I wonder when in his Masters/Phd education in locksmith did he learn how long it takes to become physicians?
I confronted him. I advised him that he had been in my house, and that he is that he needed to try to be respectful. He began immediately to me, telling me I am a little girl (I am really not) who understands nothing, who thinks in the world wide web, and that he understands best. He went on schooling me on the way in which the world wide web is fake, which explains why he reads real newspapers (Men, did you know that the New York Times online is a lie and the newspaper version is real?) . He said I don't use my eyes. I used my eyes and went ahead just as I do every second that I'm awake, looked directly into his eyes and took a photograph of him made sure an audio recording was going. As it turns out, I did not need a photograph, as his glamour shot is correct on his website's front page.
It had been my yearly trip home for the holidays. One of our doors acted amazing. David fixed it. But with all the trouble that came together with his trip, it wasn't worthwhile.
I assured him that technology helped me create proof, and that at the very moment I used my eyes AND ears to assess the situation facing me. His rebuttal was supposed to inquire what I understood about locks. I told him truthfully'absolutely nothing. That's why you're here to perform your job. I am not speaking about locks, I am referring to manners, and not being insulting and racist individuals in their homes when you're on the task'. He smirked and laughed.
At some point he went out to his vehicle. When he came back in, he said he was being spied on by that a guy taking photographs of his license plate. Oh, Dave, I am certain he was only taking a photograph of just how hoarded with shit your car is. It's funny just how your vehicle is, and yet you went ahead and called us cluttered for having a few pieces of mail, and suitcases around the ground on the coffee table.
First red flag happened when he started telling us a story about'idiots' who had themselves locked from the front door, and made a point to mention that they had been people of color, and what road they live on.
David, in the event that you made it , I'm certain me and you're calling Yelp, to sue them. I look forward to being one of those stories you set of' idiots' in your catalogue. But here is the thing: When I came into your home for a job and spent 2 straight hours informing you how idiotic and stupid you're, how ridiculously idiotic of one to really chose to be a locksmith, made you hold and manage your resources like you were a paid helper, and just how all white people make this nation dumb, how would you react?
By the way, now we have 4 additional keys to deal with. So much for'having too many keys for our doors'? Thanks, Dave. Enjoy we were overcharged by the 300 you.
I weaving through this I took days later- so many jewels. He called our inanimate lock'you communist'; this was the one that was a humorous tease even though he was angry.
If you wrote a bad review , I discovered it from David before I read it. He called all of you'idiots' or'whiny babies' together with his best baby voice. When you're a person, people will tell people to prevent you. For people on here who said that he is super knowledgeable, I did not have the identical experience-- every 4 seconds he mumbled'alright. . .stick this thing that seems to fit back here... nope... perhaps here...'
He said the guy who tried to repair our lock before him must be'back doing the only thing he knows how to perform, mowing people's yards'. He laughed at her right, also attempted to speak like my immigrant mother. Each time that I called him out, he looked at me with this'you think I'm going to obey you, girl apologize?' face. I believe David does not know what an apology is. You know who get defensive when someone calls them out and insists they're not racists? Racists.
I like jokes. I appreciate a fantastic tease. David kept confusing a'tease' with racist and sexist insults. He maintained badmouthing other locksmiths a minimum of three times per year from the duration that was 2hr. Subsequently went on about Yelp (he would like to sue for poor testimonials ) and eBay(taking away his business?!) . He ended up preaching hatred on technology and seemed to think it's the job of the devil.

He's the
I've had the pleasure of dealing with Dave. Once, to eliminate another opportunity, and a pest to assist my sister begin her car. He's a personality, but insight and so full of info, making him worth his weight in gold. I had no idea my door was, till he told me. CALL DAVE, if you EVER need help with a lock.

The Key Man gets the job done right and quickly. It was late at night. I locked myself out, and he was very receptive.

Highly Recommend!
I wanted my new company place re-keyed. I called one of these portable dispatchers and they were awful. The guy couldn't even get the lock shot apart. I found the Key Man and he came in time and managed to finish the work quickly and for exactly what I was lent by him over the telephone. I think it took him a bit longer than expected, but he honored his telephone quote.

An expert locksmith. He ordered the lock set for my door and came by two. He showed up the following day punctually and installed the locks so I have just one home key and of my doors! He was dependable and honest and has has a proven SJ enterprise.
My choices were explained by him and helped me make the best decision!!!

David felt he was for what he did to us too expensive and was here today. He billed as when he did brain operation adjusted an existing lock.

Years ago I found something or this man online, I needed the locks changed out in an office building. He managed to get everything done to get a excellent price and came over. Ever since that time I have called on him a few times... I'd file cabinet locks changed out, door locks, we had an eviction ones, and just recently we had a key made for a classic vehicle. This guy does it all, I likely won't use any one else.

I'm happy I was helped by him changed my locks. He did a fantastic job, and he did not charge me any extra although there was much more work to do than expected.
I found David the Key Man to be professional, personable, and good at this task. He fixed them so they work easily, and said to me some of the deficiencies in my existing locks and sturdily.

This Guy doesn't even deserve 1 star! He insulted me as got into the shop, so I abandoned. It's not that hard to be a minimal polite, I am not picky but a hello what could I do for you is simple to do!

As other reviewers have noted, David the Key Man is a one of a kind. In addition to repairing my lock and my door knob, we discussed everything from neanderthals into the Battle of Hastings. He took care to coincide with my lock correctly, and did quite a bit of driving around trying to find the perfect one, all for an affordable price and an earful of intriguing conversation. Thanks, David, for placing a smile in my face along with a new lock my door.
