WORST LOCKSMITH IN KATY, TX!! STAY AWAY!! They BAIT you in, then SWITCH the cost!! Management of this company wrongly believes that it is fine to give you a cost over the telephone to get them through your door, then increase the cost if they arrive to do the job! They'll tell you a price over the telephone tell you that there are fees. There was nothing special that I asked - . The cost they informed me when they came was almost DOUBLE the purchase price over the telephone... and they cost $5 per key??? Are they made of gold??? Avoid this company and save yourself the headache!
I echo the other comments here. Service was called for by me and I was told the fee is $45 for guards and $15 for service visit. I agreed. The shipment called, came in and while he replaced the lock didn't give the cost to me even after I asked him a few times. He kept saying there are two prices and based on your lock I'll have to charge you, first cost was 50 and second was 70, and of course after he was done he billed me $85. I told him your Yelp testimonials state exactly the same, that dispatchers quote some thing else and you charge something different. Scammers! In the event that you can stay away.
The locksmith and I first met with to possess some locks re-keyed/replaced for the homeowner who is a relative! The changes were to: substitute a deadbolt using a deadbolt on re-key and the FRONT DOOR BACK DOOR and the DOOR TO THE GARAGE! At first, all were met with the work/price! When copies were made of this new key, but a problem arose. Home Depot made keys out of two different machines BUT NONE OF THE EXTRA KEYS WORKED ON THE BACK DOOR The guy at HD explained that it HAD to be the lock! Just to be sure, Ace Hardware also made a crucial - AGAIN, THE BACK DOOR LOCK WAS THE ISSUE BUT NOT AT ALL FROM THE OUTSIDE! So, I met the locksmith back at the home on 01/14/2015 to check out the issue and after some diagnosis; he said to me that the issue was two of the doors had 5-pin locks and the 3rd (BACK DOOR) is a 6-pin lock. This all might have all been taken care of with no extra cash spent when the locksmith had just explained to me throughout the first service call that he"trapped" the BACK DOOR differently in the other doors! I FOOLISHLY enabled him to correct the lock for every one of the keys to function; however while I was talking with the homeowner who had been urgently disputing the $90 fee, the locksmith (who had been using a hand-held automatic credit card machine) told me that he was charging $50!!!! He hurriedly had me sign the receipt and LEFT! Honestly, he actually didn't change the amount, but actually swiped on the credit card! Very misleading business practices! PLEASE BEWARE! They also have another number!
