That said...I hope I never see you again. If I do have a problem in the future, you'll be my first call. Thank you.
I can't say enough great things about my experience with Robert in Powers Plumbing. He was able to make the encounter at lot less stressful although I think everyone dreads having to call a plumber. This was an excellent plumbing experience. In the person that answered the phone, to their to their expertise, on time support to my problem. . .all first rate.
Super impolite technician/driver. Get out the hell out of the way, if you visit their truck on the road. The driver seemed like he had tied to a great one last night. Yelling and screaming out the window. Wow is all I will say.
I would not recommend Powers Plumbing. After two plumbers came out and a week later Powers replaced a leaky kitchen faucet. I found Janet lacked customer service and was difficult to communicate with.
They also start whenever they leave their workplace charging. strikes me as wrong although thankfully we live close.
We known as Powers and told them that our kitchen faucet was leaking. They sent somebody out who said it leaked and you need a faucet--and then charged us $60 for a 5 second trip. We have a brand new faucet and known as Powers to program a plumber to come out and install it. The proprietor said that we would be the very first on the program (they are 5 minutes away) and they'd be there at 8 o'clock. We changed our program to accommodate the 8 o'clock appointment. In 8:30 AM no plumber had appeared and so we called Powers. We had been told that a worker meeting was called by the proprietor and that is why they were late. We did not receive a call from we the customer, changed our schedule to fulfill theirs, AND Powers that they would be late. This is not a customer and we'll find another plumbing firm
A $125 quote fee was added minute by these Men and when I said I was Planning to get an appointment my appointment was canceled by them me as well to call another plumber
4. I discovered a different contractor who....get that this....charged no fee to come look at the issue as I sent him photographs and a description of exactly what was happening. He actually charges by"the job"....if it merely needs a line he then charges for the components and labour which was the fee from these guys to push over and would continue to"pad" the job also charge....unscrupulous company practice of considering that the consumers wallet.
9:01 PM
BUYER BEWARE
3. They were up to near $300 and they were talking . . .RIDICULOUS AND OUTRAGEOUS.
2. They were trying to estimate without ever seeing the issue ( that I told them was actually a simple fix but because I am out of state I'd tenants who needed this fixed ) just replace the corroded source line from the wall into the valve that regulates the water source.
I see your"positive reviews" are from consumers that just have 1 review....that means you are using"plants" that offer you a positive statement....paid reviews in other words. Here is the bargain Janet....if people want to utilize your company then my advice to them is get a true checklist of charges....let them hear from you that the charges are from"door to door"....rate per hour that commences at $106....if after 4 pm ( it subsequently goes to $159--who just works til 4 pm esp. With your service market? )
If you want to carry on this with half truths I'll be more than pleased to keep calling you since I have ALL the truth and consumers can check it by calling your Company and find out if what I am saying is fair...I challenge anyone to fact-check by getting a quote initially and charges...I will debate this all day long and I won't charge you for it either.
Addendum...
5. They even wanted to charge for telephone calls in setting up a trip..."added time" they said! Don't use these shysters as they look for excuses to charge for whatever....was surprised they did not need to charge me for oxygen they used to speak with me.
Just wanted to give a warning to all potential consumer who contemplates doing business. To start with I called to get advice about getting a job done on replacing a distribution line from the wall into my ice maker to get a new fridge that I bought. The old line had some corrosion right supporting the valve ( which is not out of the ordinary because the point was 10 years old ).
1. $106 only to come out to inspect the job....they charge door to door....which way by the time that they get in their vehicle and arrive in the door....you are being charged at $106 per hour. Should they get caught in traffic it doesn't matter....you're gonna get charged that rate. If it that they come after 4 pm....it costs $159 and that's without a estimate for repairs. While they are currently doing a quote you are being billed.
Let's be clear....you did not read my review thoroughly....your conversation with my spouse was listened to...I heard what you said. You want carteblanche to include charges like its some sort of"taxi service" and YOU DID say that you would charge for telephone calls. . .deny it all you need. You told my spouse that any discussions ( phone calls that we'd make would be billed. . .are you? What spaceship did you fly in from to say you will bill us to get a call?
My warning is for consumers who may fall to your"bait and switch tactics"....let them call your company to get the actual story regarding how you do business....but my guidance is to allow Consumers to get a factual estimate they register for instead of being strung along and get billed for more things they will obviously need to manage. But they will need to undertand they are going to cover the first hour even in the event that you don't fix anything....they will probably be already indebted for you and that's your companys business program is to get them in and then add more charges, right Janet? Wonderful try in trying to dilute the conversation with your convoluted response and outright lie....you know what you mentioned and I know what I heard and what you told my spouse.
Powers saved the day with a re pipe of the home. Bid was 3 times Powers' bid. Bid #2 (one of San Diego's biggest companies) the man leveled with us and said,"job too big for us now." There's a lot of work out there now for plumbers. Janet, Shane, Eric and everyone under them did a fantastic job. Eric volunteered to work on ' Day to keep the job on schedule. As we know our stuff and Powers' work and cost were right !
Powers Plumbing has been our plumbers for many years and they are terrific. Janet has always been great at sending out someone as soon as she can and they are very professional. We had a plumbing emergency on Friday afternoon and Eddie was working to obtain the source and there. He and Shane did a great job.
People that are horrible to Work with I don't write reviews typically
Janet who promised to be co owner was condescending and unapologetic. Continually interrupting. unwilling to adapt us for a problem they were called out for that and jason was not addressed. $1400 later and two visits they have the nerve. Their answer to return and actually examine the problem was we have to charge you and interview your renter!!! Obviously my plumber and I have already clarified what the problem was too many occasions
My kitchen was abandoned holes in walls that were due to employee errors. I paid to fix them without Powers and complaint felt as though I should cover the overtime, the moment and the holes myself. I miffed they refused to determine their error. The workplace claims, without visiting the job, they were searching for a vent. The truth is the vent and also the holes were a random evaluation for something the workers made a big mistake and offered to incorporate in. The supervisor refused to talk with her workers because she stated they would say black and I would say white. I offered to move to small claims to cure the 1600 overcharge in the bidding and they agreed. Rather than keeping their word, they sent a bill collector the overage once I paid the $3000 of the original bill. If a person is going to lose in court 12, the perfect move. Interesting group. I want no engagement. Ignorance, stupidity or evil. . .it's not my thing.
I utilized Powers due to their previous standing locally. Something has shifted, although I really don't know whether it has been sold or operated by another. There were errors and issues as well as those things can happen. It was the aftermath and the overcharging that couldn't be remedied. I accepted before a friend told me that she had the same difficulties it was just my experience.
Carlos fixed the issue (broken pipe that caused a leak). He was very helpful, friendly and knowledgable! Janet in the office, was individual and efficient with scheduling! Powers Plumbing is great! The prices seem reasonable.
Obviously, I will order and install myself. We'll make certain that you pick another plumber if have some new plumbing problems. It's too bad, because this company is a local neighborhood company and literally in walking distance.
Repairs were had by us . One toilet had and another was always running. A new handle on a flapper and and a single on the opposite. Parts and labor were 335.00. These are usually repairs I (and many homeowners) can treat themselves. So I called Powers, I didn't have the time. Plumber (Carlos) appeared to understand what he was doing but two 1/4 hours to get a very simple toilet fix seems excessive to me. The terrible part is that they did correct the handle. Only sprayed some lube and told us to not crank the handle too hard. I had been told that they would have to order a deal and it would entail another excursion when I called about this. (Charging for both handle and labor).
Powers plumbing does work and has been prompt. But the best attribute that I have seen is not from the plumbers who come out but also from everyone including the customer support representives which have
Positive empathic energy.
Another great job and reasonably priced! It's extremely easy to be taken advantage of when you don't know anything about plumbing. This is not so with Powers Plumbing. The first job was a clog, this time was pipe replacement. I have found them to become courteous professional and competent ! Thank you to Carlos and Will for an Outstanding job and to Shane for an quote!! I would definitely use this company in the future!
Might be a small store"Mom and Pop Shop" HOWEVER lots of knowledge!!! Always an honest approach to any problems
Plumbers were nice, however, one one event, we were given a statement that documented the price along with that the services rendered by this firm. It was paid by us . We get telling that do to *their* error, they demanded that we pay to pay the sum that wasn't initially charged undercharged us. The difference was 10 percentage of this job's cost, plus they treated to call a collection agency.
Obviously, we have had plumbing issues and have chosen another plumber. Since this company is a local neighborhood business and literally in walking distance, It's too bad.
I get it, we ought to pay what was due. It was theirerror, not ours. I have a wife who runs a small company, she tells me that their firm could"eat it" and not ask their customers to correct a similar error.
Eric from Powers Plumbing is Great! Eric is recommended by me, and for all upcoming plumbing issues, I won't hesitate to request Eric from Powers Plumbing.
He mended our complicated plumbing issue and came outside. All our toilets as well as bathtub and shower were backed up after dealing with our Home Warranty firm, which sent out two different plumbing companies, both who wouldn't complete the job. I requested Powers Plumbing since I heard they were the plumbing business in San Diego, and they did not prove me wrong!
Eric was professional prompt and educated. He spent hours to receive our bathrooms back up and running. If you want the job done right, I would suggest calling Powers Plumbing first.
We are pleased to have our toilets back! Thank you, Eric!
Very knowledgeable but it took 3 visits to correct shower faucet. Will continue to use them since they are pleasant, efficient when here and reasonably priced. One suggestion is to stop imagining the worst and putting blame. In my case the final mounting of dial had been put on incorrectly without a caulking has been done to seal the fixture. Following a attitude out of these and an email, they came out and mended and completed the job at no extra price. Hans Grohe is a great brand so please stop complaining about it. It took your plumber 10 minutes to fix it, once the pieces are right. It was that easy and it went flawlessly. Lesson learned:,no DIY for me personally for plumbing. Thanks.
Again, Powers did a fantastic job. units had slight issues and I have a duplex at Mission Hills and I had a major issue with an leaky valve. Manny was knowledgeable and fixed all 3 issues with a minimum of fuss and cost. Powers has ever employed good plumbers (been a customer since 1986) but what I really appreciate is that I don't need to fret about gouging or overcharging. That is such an honest firm. I'd suggest them for any job, big or little (they have completed both for me through the years).
There's a reason they could call themselves"best San Diego plumber".
Update: I value the company attempting to make directly (and confirming that they billed a whole 30min for a 7min drive- so I got billed $50 for someone to drive 7min up a road ) I think that works out to $10 a stop sign. Maybe I am the exception to the rule but I was resent the invoice for instance now. Once telling me that I had to cover the 123 again then a subsequent a second later stating that it was paid in total. Now is just one more example of the billing should improve although I really don't dispute the charges.
Update: owner tried to bill me a 3rd time (I'm not joking). I have evidence of payment(s) and will be reporting to BBB (can not give 0 stars)
