Made the mistake of not checking Yelp before calling for an urgent tow. It has now been more than two hours and it is 1 excuse after another having a significant situation I can't wait all day for. Now another 30-45 minutes!!!! If they show at 10, I'll be surprised.
Edit the driver did seem and he was fine. This was a situation for me when they understood they could not follow through with their 80 minute estimate and that they ought to have called me.

Never made it past the 2 Telephone operators that are Impolite, would not give me time, a simple quote or any other Advice, she stated they didn't have a Company address, You're better off calling another service

I made several calls before employing this business for tow or a jump. When comparing price range with 3 other companies in the region, I determined it would cost $150 on the high side but could be $49 if only a leap ( on the low side). This was all within range of the companies. I anticipated Shield Towing to come, since the answering service didn't indicate differently. The driver attempted to jump the car, but after a couple tries and a couple of minutes, I chose to get the car towed 7 miles into a dealership. ( I had been charging the battery for 2 hours and understood it was a lost cause). We made it into the dealership and I handed my cc to the driver.
The tow driver known as someone to get a price and the price came back 70 bucks over the quoted price (the high side). Even his"deal" of $200 for 7 miles, was $50 bucks more than what I was told are the greatest. (and $50-$70 more than any other tow business in the area) The man on the phone told me that I was being billed for the miles into my house, in addition to the trip to the dealership. I was also being billed for the 2 minutes. Attempt to jump start the battery AND the tow. This practice of"double dipping" is not in line with other companies. I had already handed the motorist my CC and I told him I do not consent to this charge, and his reply was" Too late" I was told a manager would call me back. I waited 3 hours and No CALL. I called back again and has been put on hold for a total of 30 minutes only to be told that the tow business wasn't likely to change their thoughts. This is undoubtedly a case of bait and switch after my automobile reached its end destination and since I was told one price, the price increased without notification. I am ready to pay the $150 ( although this leaves me cringe) but NOT $200 to go 7 mph wait an additional 45 minutes to the tow to get there and being threatened to move to small claims court if I dispute the fees. I have requested to speak to the company's owner. Hopefully he/she cares enough about reputation and their business they will call back to remedy the situation. V&U Towing Service should also be banned in the list of independent companies related to Shield.

Was originally told as a conservative estimate, the wait would be between 45-60 minutes. 60 minutes go by I call to make sure they have the right address. I'm told that they have all, it will be another 35-40 minutes....Ok. Ended up waiting a total of 3 hours. After 2.5 hours I called a different tow firm, they showed up at a half an hour. Shield Towing never did. Never received communication from them, needed to call to check what went on whenever their new estimate came and went. Were always ensured that the driver was"almost there." 2 stars because at least they had the decency to cancel without charging me a charge. I suggest should you ever require a tow, you look at a different firm.
