I would give them 10 stars if possible and highly recommend them. You don't find service like this much anymore. Their prices are also fair.
About 6 weeks later we had a toilet replaced. They supplied the toilet and Tom installed it. I have to say Tom is the nicest service person I have ever dealt with. He is on time, professional, friendly and cleans up after himself.
We hired Paul about 2 yrs ago when we were remodeling our kitchen and had a quote to move water & gas lines and also to install the dishwasher, sink, faucet and trash disposal. We got 3 quotes which were about precisely the same price but Paul only made us feel at ease. The work was a visit process and Paul and Tom were professional and so nice even when my schedule would change and all of a sudden I had somebody there ASAP. He came through for us with a great attitude.
Then yesterday we discovered that a little pipe leak in the ceiling of our bathroom. This morning, I called and Paul answered immediately. Tom came out this afternoon, found the leak and repaired it for us. Then he cleaned the bathroom of the mess.

We have used Universal Plumbing throughout the last few years for many plumbing jobs that were different at two duplexes at North Park. Both Tom & Paul are extremely educated, professional, and it is a pleasure. I particularly like that they do text messaging such that I know when they are 30 minutes out, can send pictures, etc.. It makes my job of becoming the"stuckee" for flat maintenance much easier. I'm I truly enjoy the work these men do and a retired scientist. They know the code, what's tight, gas and water lines are properly dressed, and there is not any mess left. The fact that they are responsive and reasonably priced is just icing on the cake. Thank you Paul and Tom.

We had a faucet. Took a photo of it and shipped it to Paul. Establish appointment to replace the capsule. Done longer leaks.

Our kitchen sink was badly plugged and our toilet kept running.
In the long run it was to plugged up he couldn't irritate it, and apologized and said this is just the second time in his career he couldn't unclog a kitchen sink, and that it probably had a"jetter" to clean the line but their company did not have one but he would give me the title and quantity of another company they referred folks to for quite bad clogs.
He spent imaginable. Snaking through the wall multiple times and then through the port on the roof multiple times. He maintained a sense that is very great the whole time he was here although I could see he was becoming frustrated.
This place will be the very first place! Not only impressed with how fast they got out someone to my house, but Tom showed true ethics and for that this area should get a 5 star rating.
Nicely around 3PM I get a call saying they will be here in 20 minutes.
I'll certainly recommend them and ANYONE I know needs a plumber. So impressed with those men their amount ended up on our"GO-TO GUYS" Home Repair Phone List and that seldom happens.
Talked to Paul and told him what was up, '' he said they had been pretty busy but would call me back and let me know if they could get someone out to my house that day, and if he would I would understand around 3-4PM differently they'd come tomorrow.
He gives me the number to the men with a"jetter", and tells me because he couldn't unclog the sink he wouldn't charge me. . .but me would charge .
Tom showed up, fixed my toilet quite quickly (the flapper was leaking and old so he replaced ) then proceeded to my kitchen sink.
I called these men according to their excellent YELP! Review, and I must say I am NOT sorry that I did.

Tom came out on time, he's a knowledgeable and nice person, he diagnosed all problems (water flow , defect water tank) quickly and did the repairs not only quickly, but also well. The fee was reasonable, which is a issue with a lot of contractors. I will definitively call Universal Plumbing once I have a issue again, and will ask for Tom to perform the job, if possible.

Paul looked in the matter came out last weekend, and explained that the issue could be fixed by jetting the build-up to clear out. He had been surprised that that this alternative was never mentioned by the preceding plumber. He explained that we should have a video camera sent to reveal the before-and-after-jetting-work. We had the jetting work completed, and although there's a slight dip from the sewer line, it wasn't essential to replace the line and the issue is solved.
I contacted Paul Blackard (proprietor ) of Universal Plumbing (who came highly recommended by a good friend who has employed Universal for every one of her plumbing job ) to have another opinion on a sewer back-up difficulty in our house. The first plumber had advised me that there was a dip from the sewer line and that the only way would be to tear the slab and install a new sewer line, with a price tag and major demolition work. This didn't seem right and seemed extreme, as we have lived in our house for over 7 years and never had a problem before.

These guys are undoubtedly the best! They'd my sink ready to go in less than 1 hour and their job is guaranteed. I won't use anybody else. I highly suggest them.

I was a little doubtful looking at all of the five star reviews I could be wowed by a plumbing firm, but they did. I needed an inspection done for a property I am buying, and while Paul was a couple minutes late (he did let us know), he was quite comprehensive and efficient. He was professional, and seemed to be invested in helping people determine every problem and invisibly with the plumbing. He even climbed up on the roof, checked the water heater, also knew a lot about every system that involved water. I felt just like I was in good hands, and was amazed. I will definitely be calling him back to have the repairs.

FAST AND PROFESSIONALShould you need a plumber, this should be your first call. The issue was assessed by paul and walked me. He also discovered some other potential plumbing problems (corroded connectors) and gave suggestions on the best way to tackle. Sales pitch.

Regrettably, all his technicians were reserved and that he wouldn't be able to help. However he had been timely now return to me AND he gave me the name of plumber that he knew could help me.
I phoned this company and the gentleman on the other line asked if he could call me back in 10 minutes.
My dumb plumbing is backed up -UGH! I attempted to call 3 distinct plumbers and no one is available now!!!!! MAYDAY! MAYDAY!
I was impressed with the customer service I use them next time for sure while I was not able to work with me.

I took advantage of a phone number listed on a local site and discovered Paul B. He had been He was the price was so affordable, AND punctual, efficient above and beyond my expectations. I just discovered my new favorite plumber!!!!!

Paul was quick answer my questions, to respond, and supply a quote. Tom was discharged the next moment. We had been really pleased with Tom's job and really appreciated his attention to his thoroughness and detail in explaining what was being done and why.

I've been for more than 7 years in SD and have contracted 3 plumbers in that period of time. Not only does he do excellent work he is only an guy that is good that is honest.

He'd the sink replaced in approximately 4 hours and that which. Paul came out and I had one minor issue with the faucet that was because of a manufacturer's flaw and replaced it free of cost.
I needed a sink replaced for a kitchen remodel. It was an undermount beneath granite, which isn't an easy task to say the least. Many firms (major ones included) refused to perform the job because of the possibility that the granite could crack. Paul from Universal came and said it wouldn't be easy, but was convinced that he could get the work done. He did state that in case the granite failed to crack, which could have become the strip before the sink, we would need to go with a"country farm home" design, which I was OK with as an alternative worst case scenario.

The most recent time that I wanted their service was through the SuperBowl this year. I had a house full of people and had a plumbing issue which could have put a damper on the party. I phoned Universal Plumbing and they came out and saved the day!

Whether it was a clearing a clogged drain, then installing a new toilet or even difficulties with our garbage disposal, Universal Plumbing has ever gotten the job done. The BEST. Speedy response, reasonable rates. What more can you ask for? I fixed everything, came right over and had a couple of issues along with the owner, Paul. There was something caught in garbage disposal and he made it. Hot water heater needed adjusting, he knocked it out. Backed up bathroom. I would not use any other plumber and you should heed my advice. Actual deal.

Tom and paul are really nice -- specialist useful, and amazing to be as a bonus. Moved to a new home and instantly had help with a couple escapes and so glad that I called Universal Plumbing. They gave me advice on the most viable and very best means. Then had fairly significant plumbing work completed ($$$) during a kitchen renovation and they were good. . Very responsive and good to take care of. Thank you guys!

Tom and Paul spent a couple of hours at my house btwn hoping to assist us with our water hammer/banging pipes issue. We are living with piping that is crazy in a classic 1960's mid-century. . The issue was discovered by them and cured our problem. The banging was crazy. All in they were at my home 5 times making sure the problem was solved and also pointed out other problems that needed fixing. Would recommend these guys. They're fair but most importantly, educated and knowledgeable about plumbing issues.

Fast and efficient service. A clogged utility sink in our garage but he was informative and fantastic. It was awful and I believe he was honest, although I'm always terrified of how plumbing issues could be. Can call again for future needs )

Support on a Saturday morning. Efficiently and cleanly took care of both our clog issues. Revealed how to do a bit of the job ourselves and left a instrument for your garbage disposal. Terrific Job!
