Tome clients keen to really go out of the way to encourage a worker owned company.
This place is enormous. Endless isles with a little bit of everything to professional arborist to keychains that are helpful.
2) They have a parking lot which always has a Great Deal of open spaces
Disadvantages: They have.
I am always eager to shop locally owned (in this instance employee owned) companies. I believe that our local companies underpin the quality of life we have here and have lived in San Rafael 30 years. but
I've GOT to quit hoping that Jackson's will get better. The problem is that they are hit and miss. It has been a miss. My latest trip was to Jackson's was a desperate attempt. I got none, and needed help. My"helper" has been Phil Y. He came off as UNinterested, even when another worker tried to chime in to help. Phil stood back from the counter, and retained the two hands in his pockets (the international indication for"I'm not gonna help here"). I tried to show an image of the part I want (still) from my photo app.... He stood back indifferent.

Thanks to Jackson's I am God. They had.
But wait, there's more. . .thanks to Jackson's I am getting hate mail and threats. I got the perfect stuff to conveniently secure the garbage can. Less than $20 and we're good to go. The raccoons not much.
I wanted to buy it but they don't cover particular products that were Costco.
I've a Hansgrohe kitchen faucet (purchased at Costco) which had a new cartridge.
He researched the component and also went and published the schematic of the kitchen faucet and advocated buying it on the internet.
Customer support is top notch!
Mark went over and beyond the call of duty.
Thank you Mark for the great customer support. We get a new faucet and will be back In case our faucet breaks again!
Mark tried to help me order the component but afterwards explained they could not get.
I actually really want to like this place - because I said the item offering is diverse and great. However, the support is a nightmare. Last time I checked, sales folks should be happy to help clients coming into their business to invest in - not throw attitude and act like they're doing me a favor.
I give them 4 stars for measurement of product offerings and a -5 for support. I keep hoping they will change but it's exactly the snarky that I come in.
The reason I decide to go over a Home Depot to Jackson's is because I want to go with trained salespeople that may take some opportunity provide expertise and to help me. However, every time that I come with questions - whether looking for plumbing, hardware, gardening etc - I am satisfied with a condescending nonchalance (more than once by the same sales person).
Paul and Kirth are the BEST! They are incredibly patient knowledgeable and professional. Jackson's is the"Go To" location for all hardware, painting and wood working needs. Our expertise with Kirth and Paul felt like we had taken a course in woodworking projects and our painting. The results were fantastic. We have an old house with lots of issues rather than go anyplace else.
Came here to examine a new kitchen sink and tap, and while we were at it, decided to examine paint and the painting provides. Kirth at the paint department was very educated, friendly, efficient, and had excellent customer services. It was a very busy day and he took his time show us, and to explain things. It is people like Kirth who will keep me shopping"local" vs. a large box store.
It was not difficult at all to get an employee to recreate the area. There were workers on the ground who were prepared to help clients. Some of them walked by and made sure we were cared for. A line was not once we checked out so it was a breeze. It is a change that is great as you in slow and long lines in hardware stores.
This hardware store is a whole 180 shopping experience from Home Depot at which you either can't find anyone to assist you or someone doesn't have any understanding. What I really like is I support them and they are employee owned.
We looked through their inventory of pants and jackets and my boyfriend found a wonderful rain jacket from his favourite brand (Carhart).
Never have I stepped to Jackson's until, although I hate to confess. How could this happen since I grew up in San Rafael and always drive by?
In summary, I wish to enjoy this place and love that it's"household owned - pro employee", but recent experiences have let me down and led me off.
I've been to Jackson's Hardware many times through the years. The last group of times, the customer service has been pretty bad. .
Additionally, I find the prices for many things at Jackson high - higher than hardware or big box stores.
I find the staff unmotivated to offer help and somewhat obsessive when you are looking for items around the store. Customer service is slow and lacking a sense that they take customer care - it frequently appears that they feel when you request help put out.
Jackson's is loved by me. They take things and are extremely valuable in choosing the proper item. All of your purchases are also kept by them in their computer so yields / record-keeping are easy. It's my go-to for fixtures.
Anyhow, I spotted and there was no price . What followed was tests on the computer and a protracted exchange between the 2 workers. Still no cost after about ten minutes. Ultimately the senior employee said,"I think it's $399," not that he really found the record.
I needed a nail gun. The guy who helped me didn't understand anything, and he asked another employee, who pointed us down one aisle - he made no effort to really help, and that the place was not busy at all.
Like custom hardware Jackson's is greatest, for items. But once I stop by I most days end up frustrated, and was one of those days.
If shops want our company - evidence I try was the nearly half hour I wasted this afternoon - they must to perform. And they have to pretend they give a damn.
I'd spent quite a bit on this and another dilemma in the tool section to no avail. As soon as I got back to my truck, I decided to test Amazon in my phone and found EXACTLY what I wanted within 45 minutes for $198 - yes the cost Jackson's quoted delivery. I pushed the"Order Now" button. Done, and I am sure it will be just fine.
I like these men. They are typically busy and well stocked. That it is employee possessed is a plus. Service is 5 star and I never need to wait. And unlike its competitor who provides you with an isle amount or stage they walk you . They are all pleasant and friendly there. Enjoy it.
I get my workboots there and many of my hand and power tools and is that they have a profound appreciation for their clients. They simply have a culture of being careful and helping (and being knowledgable to be able to assist better) - which sound like a fundamental requirements, but come on, most of us know these are rare. I frequently have the experience of getting their staff locate me (before I locate them!) And provide to assist me several times per visit. I want an router bit? It breaks the catalogues out and assist arrange. At other places they shrug.

Hand tools and power tools galore.
Jackson's is my go to set. All my tools purchased in the last five years are from Jacksons. Love that location. Keep it neighborhood and give it a try.

specialty hardware,
But wait... why can I buy from here rather than from the box shop with cheaper costs? Since I believe in the variety of resources as well as the worth of knowledgable staff and great service is unbeatable. When I am at the series home shops and that I want help, forget it. Want those Makita planer replacement blades? A planer?" -- they don't even understand what it is half the time where it's in the shop and if they do they seldom understand. As a carpenter they treat me nicely at Jackson's, but you really do not have to become a contractor to acquire good support (unlike some areas which are impatient and invisibly with non-contractors).
I really like. The employees have helped me so many times on projects I had to do and around my lawn - from refinishing my hardwood floors, replacing toilet fixtures, and buying the. For all those single retired women out there who find themselves needing good home remedy information - Jackson Hardward is the place.
Love Jackson's. Employee-owned. More like a composite of high-quality hardware shop and a dry goods shop. Very high-service and favorable.
So far better than the big box men.
They also are an authorized Honda motor mechanic to your lawnmower or anything yard .
. .lol
You can find anything home. They have enormous isles of merchandise and friendly staff.
In addition they sell Carhart Work wear alongside other manufacturers of work clothes.
