Good ACE hardware. One problem with this particular place is that the employee Craig. My spouse was there and was asking for a particular part... In short Craig went on to mansplain what the part had been used for and that she had been using it wrongly.
Unfortunate that these people exist, each group of apples is certain to have a poor one.
I would recommend if you require something rather.

The is among the best Hardware Stores in the Area. The location is situated in Downtown Hayward and contains a whole lot as it is beside Lucky of parking; additionally, it has good hours is available on weekends so that I enjoy it for that fact. The parking lot has there people. I mean we are after all downtown where my people and me visit gather it is in Hayward. So They tend to get things I want in stock and it is close by so it is a excellent 1st choice or second choice for each your hardware needs. I'd have a look at the store for the people who work there if you are in the place. They do key cutting and that I mended my screen door just a few of the solutions I've used. It use to Be Hayward Ace but today it is Hayward Hardware not sure why it had been changed but it has some of the very helpful people; such as when I want something there is always a person who's working there can help me find what I am searching for. This location isn't as cheap as such as Loews or a home depot but it is a neighborhood place whenever you don't have enough time. I enjoy this place as it has all the things that I want in stocks from a bolt into a crystal clear line. I ended up building my own water cooling with the traces at Hayward Hardware and it was cheaper then purchasing them online. They sell them by the foot.

Excellent shop with fantastic support. I have dropped my key a lot (I know, I am working on it) and also have needed to find an area which makes a quick and reasonably priced copy. I come here! The prices are good, the help you out because they're never active, and they're very friendly.
They've a good deal of variety with household appliances, keys, and other demands. You walk and are able to park in the Lucky parking lot or the parking garage throughout the road. Fantastic location, I am continue giving my business to them.

Cuz we've got a brand new baby I am ready to pay more upfront and do the work right the first time cuz my period is a lot more significant than the couple of bucks I would have saved driving on Hesperian into the Home Depot. Talking of time, I also did a one stop shopping next door at Lucky's to put food on the table to get Happy Thanksgiving 11-22-18.
The water pressure is also nothing short of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors (better known as the Splash Brothers here from the Bay Area)
Above all , the owner Jim W. is also super upbeat and fast to greet clients with his engaging smile. The staff reflects his positive upbeat attitude that generates"positive dinnertime conversation" for do-it- yourselvers, tradesmen, and regular old Joe's like myself.
You may see who I'm talking about but please bring him as much info as possible for example old parts or photos.
My next project will be to fix the shower diverter but I want to eliminate it and bring it to Hayward Hardware and speak to whoever might be on duty either Mark, Arnel, Chris, Yash, or if I am lucky"El Chinito en La Mission p Hayward, CA." .
This has been the Go-To Hardware Store in Hayward for awhile. Finest bet to discover hard to locate plumbing stalks parts etc..
OH I almost forgot the main reason for my critique of Hayward Hardware. . .our landlord explained he obtained a $2600 water bill last month and he suffered a heart attack. But, I altered Korky Universal Flapper and the Fluid Master Fill Valve and sent the water district proof of purchase. They saw the adjustment back to use from the date of the receipt that they would repay him his previous payment. I stay pretty so
I moved to Hayward Hardware first cuz there is always helpful and parking sales partners and I wanted to store local sporting vests present ready to attempt to help; they do try although regrettably everything can't be carried by them.

Like some other companies I called, they called me to a different business that managed to meet my requirements. I notified another business that HH refered me plus they gave me a discount on top of everything. Discuss going the additional mile. Im thankful and impressed.
OK, So that they were unable to assist me, but instead of being A-holes...

I was going to give up. I had a metal toilet paper holder that was missing a twist that is tiny but integral and I had already tried another hardware shop, Home Depot, and Lowe's. I'd spent hours looking for this particular screw but could not find it. I decided to give it one last attempt at Hayward Hardware.

I walked in and a cheerful voice greeted me,"hello, how can I help you today?" I explained the situation to Sara, who listened attentively and then immediately said,"I have just the thing for it!" I followed Sara to the aisle of a billion different screws, nuts, bolts, etc., and she identified and pulled a box out, tried a few different screws, proceeded to a different box of screws and found one that appeared to do the job. She helped me examine the toilet paper holder arm to ensure the screw would do the trick and it did and fit the screw. She proceeded to ring up me, after she made sure I was filled. She had spent 5-6 min with me even though the total purchase was only $0.74. I'm so grateful for her help.

Friendly and helpful staff make shopping here a breeze. Selection and the prices were great, and I am willing to pay a bit more to avoid the hassle of purchasing. They even offered to order anything for that they did not have in stock, I asked! Hot suggestion -- you can bring on your sunglasses if they are missing a screw, and they will replace it!

Smokey states in the Bay Area and N95 masks have to protect against any adverse respiratory effects... simply struck me rather of odd that they had been charging $3.99 per masks and limiting them to two per customer... masks that normally cost approximately $1.25 any time of the year... except now that individuals need them for health states... was this just good business or benefiting??

Y'all we're in the middle of one of the air quality occasions in California history because of this fire and this place is deciding to UPCHARGE their own masks because of demand. Wait until they are given by your fire station out for free. That's unacceptable that they are currently charging $4 PER MASK when a pack of 10 needs to be less than $20.

Together with the air quality in the Bay Area due to the wildfires that were horrific and tragic, assist the community and Ace Hardware in Hayward has opted to step up. The way you ask? They've taken boxes of 3M N95 masks 20 count opened them up and decided to sell them for $3.99 a bit. After the box of 20 cost just $11 to $22. If you read on 10/12/2017 more of the reviews last year, also another yelper abandoned $ 8 a ounce charged, they were so kind to lessen the cost! Sanitation is quite important to Ace hardware in Hayward, the cashiers who also handle cash, also pull on the masks out of their boxes and hands them out one by one, when each mask or box generally comes sealed.
Please do NOT shop at this specific Ace Hardware, there are plenty of other hardware stores. Additionally, I called another Ace hardwares around the area (Castro valley and San Leandro) they were selling the masks for the regular cost.

Cool shop, used to be ace but no more associated with them, I think that it's better bc it's more like a family shop now, the Indian man in the shop is quite useful, helped me locate all of my stuffs and even double checked with his co-worker only be sure I got it right!! Thank you

I phoned Ace Hardware and inform them that I had been handicapped in getting a couple things they needed help. I asked the gentleman on the phone whose name was Mark if handicapped people are helped by them he thankfully said. I went out of his way to make sure my needs were met by him and ask for Mark that he provided me with excellent service and came out to my vehicle and drove to their door called. I get the feeling that they put high value on customer service that is good at this place I recommend it for disabled customer and the older. Darren

I've been going to aces in Hayward. . .Jim and indicate have always been very helpful..Jim sold masks this week cost to make sure us east bayers were protected..thanks so much to all at aces!!

Avoid.Sad, I have wanted to support this place, however they continue to rip the customer off.
The costs on the shelves for many are around 20% less.
Spoke to Jim he wasn't concerned with overcharging at all. No apology at all, even though he admitted that I was charged.
The manager(owner) kept telling us it's more at Home Depot, yeah, another lie as it was half that. ... and 1/4 that at the $1 store.
This place is a scam.
And this was the supervisor!
No apology at whatsoever. They attempted to force me to giver my info/name to fix THEIR error of scamming me today.
I supported this place. If they treat customers in this way, they will need to die.
FU, if I enter that store . Will only mess with the nuts and bolts in the drawers.
Now they have"20% off everything"
3 times in two weeks everything I bought rings up wrong.
They will illegally charge a cost that is higher, and when faced they the supervisor is an asshole liar.
WATCH WHAT YOU ARE CHARGED--it won't match the Purchase Price on the shelf.

EVERY TIME they have attempted to tear me me off, although I wanted to support the local man and possess. For the time in fourteen days.
I suspect Ace got rid of them I presume.

This place and the people inside are excellent. There are two hardware shops in close proximity in Hayward, but Hayward Ace Hardware is the winner.
When we first moved into our new place we shopped here. Not sure why I haven't reviewed! Today is the day for good reason.
Today I do remember our first visits and clearly remember my visit. The folks in the shop are super nice and they have nearly any hardware demand a guy like myself needs.
In the future I will bypass checking out the'other' place and drive straight into Hayward Ace Hardware!
Anyhow, once somebody showed us it was, I was on a search for bulbs. I first went into the'additional' hardware shop. They had what I had at $15 a bit! I looked up them in my phone at Amazon. These bulbs were NOT being bought by me .
We had to replace the bulbs. We had a hell of a time figuring out how to alter them... so much so we were actually without overhead lighting for a couple weeks! I know.
The light bulbs in 1/2 the purchase price of another shop. I scarfed up them and we are now able to see to cook again!

This store is awful for a number of reasons-1. They close even if you believe you are okay to head over you pretty much have to call ahead.
3. Maybe this is the biggest reason- that they price gouge. Now they're selling face masks. It is horrific that this shop would take advantage of people like this.
2. They simply don't understand how to make. I've purchased keys from them and they've literally never functioned.

Stopped in to find random replacement screws to get a socket plate cover. Amaral (sp?) Knew what to look for and where to locate it. Made plans to return to get him several window displays that are re-screen. Really wonderful for such service.

Thank you Hayward Hardware for serving the Hayward community! I had been there this week searching for masks. Both times the staff were patient and helpful. This is the type of place that you could expect customer support from men and women that are friendly and honest.

Pros!! With every house/critter issue I have had they were knowledgable and accessible to reccomend techniques and products to fix the issues. Plus they have plenty of masks.

For them to re-net some display doors, I came in here. I attracted the real sliding doors and they exchanged it. I would recommend. They have good deals on bird seeds. I didn't think I would find a better deal on bird seeds other than at Walmart lol
