I was really impressed with Aborn Lock Company. Mike, the locksmith, was very professional. He phoned me to tell me he ran late, and when he arrived he was very agreeable but concentrated on the job.
I had a loose lock, and he dismantled the entire lock, installed a fresh piece, and made sure that it was secure (by adding a plate that would prevent tampering from the exterior ). It all took about an hour, and my lock is equally like new!
I've been using lock for 20 decades but I almost strayed! The mortice lock from 1892, finally gave out, and I couldn't unlock the door. A friend recommended Brookline Lock, therefore I gave a telephone number to them. I didn't wish to substitute all of of the bronze plates and doorknobs and has been hoping for a solution which didn't involve replacing the whole lock. Brookline Lock insisted I had to do exactly that. I came up with another alternative but they stated it was not possible. So I called my buddy Aborn!! Thank goodness. Mike is totally amazing. I sent photos of this lock to him and he knew why I wouldn't wish to replace the whole thing if at all possible. He was able to unlock the lock and disable it. He then fixed so it was useable, the mortice lock. We didn't have to replace our beautiful doorknobs. Mike is very professional and understanding.
Mike from Aborn fixed a situation and came out. We had saved our bikes and the door was'jimmied' open and the bicycles were stolen by them. Mike came out and went above and beyond to fix the lock mechanism. I had been very impressed with Aborn's response and Mike - very professional and very thorough. Aborn would be strongly recommended by me and will use them .
I take over. The door is locked. I could see being in form of an isolated part of the complex you require safety, not a big deal. I look at the door if there's something or a buzzer to see. I visit Aborn Lock Company & Mike's Laundry. So I think to myself"oh they have to also do laundry in this complex. Me buzzed . He is behind a few glass. He opens it to speak to me. That is where I fight adding this to my review or not. I'm not attempting to make fun of anybody's appearance, I just have to add it. This man has a VERY wired eyes appearance. He is somewhat jittery. Hey everybody is made otherwise. If they also do laundry , I inquire. He responds,"no laundry . Why do you think there's laundry ? There has never been laundry " really quickly. Like a nervous quickly. So I tell him about the signal up front. He states that he doesn't know what I'm talking about. I blow it off as possibly I miss understood that the signal up front. Since the signal was previously a mailbox it meant his keys or something.
My review is from my own experience. Take that for what is value.
He wasn't condescending or rude. The experience I just found odd. Maybe I just caught him in the middle of something or he was hurried.
I needed to get a rekeyed, so I'm local and I've seen this place supporting my gym at the brewery.
I inquire about obtaining my lock rekeyed. He looks at it then asks if I could leave all my keys . I can't. He then says that he can't do it cuz he's got more important things to do.
Services have been asked a few times by me. From services such as copies of keys to crisis scenarios and Dave and Mike are always there to help. They are professional, calm and experienced. Im received and would recommend their services.
Aborn lock support is supposed to be open until 5pm. I came to receive a key duplicated. No response. I called the number. I had been told they'd be paged. I waited half an hour waiting. Then I called back and was told they were shut even though they are listed as open on Saturdays.
My experience was significantly less than optimal with those folks. When we weren't able to get out or in (!) , I called those folks. First, they said they couldn't look up my document I needed to locate the receipt. When I called with the date of this credit card fee, they still weren't very nice and refused to even come look in the lock. His words were,"It can not be a faulty lock since it would broken " Finally, my husband took the lock apart. Not only was there a broken part indoors, but it ends up the lock was suited to being on an outer doorway! The screws were placed and brief that a kid couldn't have gotten the lock out, much less a specialist! Buyer beware!
I had a busted mailbox lockasked a friend for a recommendation and Aborn is recommended by her. I am quite happy she did! It took them a few days to be able to come out, but I was able to generate an appointment. They told me what the cost of all of their services could be (labour and anticipated costs), and their over the telephone estimate was spot on! The locksmith apologized for being 5 minutes late to the appointment. He was able to substitute the lock fast and painlessly. I would strongly recommend Aborn!
