Brooklyn Lock & Security

I really don't often write reviews unless I've had an abysmal or exceptional experience. Brooklyn Lock and Security was beyond exceptional. I phoned Chris, their proprietor, after my locksmith was shut during the day. Chris walked me through the issue with my key, proposed and told me to contact him although he knew that he could sell me anything at that time. Then day among the locks on my door jammed as fortune would have it. Inside minutes Chris had sent a part of his team who attentively, and rectified the problem. This was professional support with fantastic rates and all around men and women. I couldn't suggest Security and Brooklyn Lock more.

Called and gentleman was quite considerate, came out right away like he said. Everything he said on the phone and fast great service was exactly what it was in person! Very pleased use and would certainly recommend these!

I'm respectful of people's time and would have paid for try and the gasoline, but that did not equate to the full price. We agreed on $70, but I felt ripped off in addition.
Was to be direct about the prices prior to committing to a service.
My understanding was that it was $130 to start the lockbut the only other alternative, to no avail he provided me was ~$240 install a new one and to break my lock. This was a no go and he still charged me $140 for stopping by.
Was locked out of my house with a very low charge on my phone, so I did not have the luxury of exploring locksmiths late at night - especially because I had a flight out the next day. There was two minutes of jiggling and I did not get a feeling that it was going to be prosperous.

The price for installing a top of this line was fair. The installation was neat and quick. it would shut better as a courtesy he adjusted the lock. Very friendly as well. He knows his stuff.

The replacement took much less time than I even anticipated. There was no"deep sofa sitting" before he called me to the door to state he had been done.
I wish I had more locks for Chris to replace...
The biggest plus for me was that he explained each of the components of the lock (it's a mul-t-lock), the way I must be responsible for my own card, and I should not use the slam lock (unless I like throwing money away... I really don't ). And he had been nice and suddenly nice to converse with.

I mean, time is money so that we did not talk that long however, Chris was pleasant to speak with; like"pull up a seat & give him a beer" pleasant. I didn't of, class... and he would have denied because he was professional, an expert who's knowledgeable about his craft. I understand who's call to replace them, like I said, if I had locks to replace.
I would definitely recommend his services a few service people call as soon as they are overdue to tell you they will be late. So, I love Chris before he had been scheduled to arrive at allow me to know he ran behind in his schedule for phoning.
My one regret, I did not ask for more cards.

I thought I had a lock that was medco and he advised me Mul t was much better and cheaper, so a. Gave me a 45 minute time frame, exactly when he showed up, and thats. Super friendly and quick would recommend

If you don't mind paying prices that are two to four times as far as competing locksmith's that is the location. My spouse $225 + tax charged to install a cylinder. I called four locksmiths to confirm what I knew was a rip-off. Additional locksmiths at Brooklyn quoted $55-115 to swap a cylinder plus the expense of the cylinder. They hung me up, when I called that they had taken advantage of the situation. When businesses make the most of people who aren't familiar with what regular prices are to get a job that required half an hour to finish, it is shameful. I should also mention they showed up 2 hours late.
UPDATE: They attempted to make things right which I love so I upgraded my review to reflect this and called me back.

Chris was known to me by a buddy from Bay Ridge therefore I called him and asked when Staten Island was serviced by him and he stated since it was a referral he would. He was able to fit me in that day since it was broken in by the key, to change my door lock. Before Chris came costs were discussed by us since I was over dealing with car salesman and had just bought a car! He was very courteous discussing the costs he has for doing work and when he came he made me feel comfortable and reminded me. I love the courtesy for driving to Staten Island and even more about being up front about the prices. I would recommend Chris for his timelinessup front mindset and clean/professional work. I got locked out of my apartment late one night following the knob spun off. Chris promised to appear within 30 minutes when I ended up coming in 15 minutes and phoned. He was professional, fair and honest . The job has been done fast and efficiently without leaving a mess and that I have not had a problem with the door. I recommend this locksmith.

I contacted Brooklyn Lock & Security this morning at 10:30am, had a call back within 30 minutes and Christopher came to substitute my lock by 2:15pm. He was courteous knowledgeable and incredibly good at what he does. He made sure my door locked properly before he left , replaced my lock and made certain I could get the door locked and reopened without an issue. I would strongly recommend him if you have a need for a locksmith.

Chris is the very best. I thought the lock to my kitchen was busted and am going through a move that is stressful. It was not. *womp* Chris tried to convince me that I was not a complete idiot and was a sweetheart about it. The lock was loose so it was repaired by him, and his trip was not in vain. He was fast, and professional, and it felt as though I had been hanging out with a buddy once we did the charging! That is pretty impressive. They are Hired by lol!

I can't recommend Chris highly enough. I hired two locks to be installed by him. He fixed their mistake of charge. Not merely did he arrive get the work done quickly and efficiently however, it was a pleasure to have him in my home. He made me feel comfortable and secure which is rare with any type of male contractor. He is the only locksmith I will ever use in this city.

Great support! Had some tenants go out so we had to change the locks. Chris gave us a quotation shortly afterwards and asked us to send him a photo of our locks/doors. Rates are very fair and he didn't nickel and dime us with whatever additional. He finished the work and came on time. Very dependable and honest. When the time comes to change my other locks, will definitely call him again. Thank you!

Great service!!! I had a jammed deadbolt. I called Chris, he came by promptly despite the weather (snow,snow ), took him 10 minutes to take apart the lock and pop up the doorway. Firm price, the other service I called started scamming on site, but once I called Chris after the door was open it had been the cost and one cost quote. Great job and outstanding service! I execute their services tremendously and highly recommend these guys they're honest.

My 89 year old grandmother with alzheimers locked herself out of her house a few blocks from mine. Thank god she was able to find her way since she left her cell phone inside. The moment she arrived because a friend mentioned what a fantastic encounter he had, I thought to call here. Chris made sure my grandmother was able to get back in to her house and came right over. He was professional and personable and honest priced from experiences everywhere... thanks Brooklyn Lock & security I will be using you moving fwd!

I am the proud owner of a door, and wanted to change the locks on that door. I had a good deal of ideas about what sorts of locks I need to get. I called Brooklyn Lock & Security and Chris was able to come over to do the job right away--even though I was expecting to schedule some time because my issue was not urgent. He then very kindly explained thoroughly a less expensive option would be far more protected than the set-up I was imagining, installed the new locks immediately, and walked me through exactly what I needed to do to ensure I would not have to substitute things entirely if I ever lost my keys. He was overall knowledgable, and also fixed a knob on the door, and truly seemed to have my best interests.

Chris just left our house. He was quite knowledgeable, affordable, and upfront about everything. Turns out we had a prospective thief earlier now, if it weren't for the Mul-T-Lock already installed (although not quite safely by the previous locksmith). He immediately set up a new lock and was generous. We highly recommend Chris along with his small business.
