I can't recall being happy or relieved by some service I received than my experience with City Lock. It started with me going to Buffalo Lock & Key for receive a key made prior to a excursion for my roof top carrier. After two visits to Key Buffalo Lock & that comprised three technicians making seven or six tries to replicate a secret, I had a first that did not work and no backup.
So off to City Lock I went. Jeff, the owner, took one look in the key backup that didn't work and said,"They used the wrong blank!" I inquired if he could make a copy and he said,"I promise it" Jeff utilized a computerized copier. He programmed in the amount from the lock in moments I walked out the door with two keys that were working.
Update: Jeff thought about he's a company when he acted like an unprofessional small business owner and must live of being individual, by his own voice.
I moved to replace my key fob....the $200.00 type!!
I asked him how he could manage to do that....he said" I need to do the items for my customers that Amazon can not do!
Now, here's my favourite part....works like fresh!!
Refused to charge me anything. . .not even for your own battery life!
Jeffrey, the owner, said"let's just try a small cleaning inside" at which the battery contacts are. He put into a brand new battery just to be sure.
My mechanic and the automobile needed between $700 and $1000 to replace the cylinder to remedy the issue. I predicted City Lock after getting these quotations. Jeff told me the answer isn't to replace the cylinder but rather wash it and replace any piece that was inner. He can do it and also with two replacement keys, full programming so that the door keys and the ignition all matched, $400 charged!
Jeff is comprehensive and takes pride in what he does, I found him fair and an overall nice guy. I hope that I never want Jeff's support but when I did I would head there and I would most definitely recommend his services.
That having been said, it did take then the arrangement didn't get placed. The cost is good, the service is friendly, and in my experience true, but it does seem if mentioning need for improvement in company, that other reviewers may be accurate.
Replaced the case for the crucial fab to my car that had broken, in a lower price than I would have found in a dealer. Got a free battery replacement together with it.
The key for my Nissan wore out and I didn't have the code to the key. Locksmiths provided every lock to be replaced by me my vehicle and could not fix the matter. Another locksmith at Boulder advised me to go to city lock since they are the expert. Jeff attempted to find out the code of it and looked in my key. He then made. My 1000 $ problem was solved by him for 40$. He is an expert in what he's doing. He's also helpful and very kind.
Jeff the owner was fantastic. Work inquire clarified and anticipated process and fees while performing it. Since their car lock guy moved out of state, he was recommended by another lock company. Prices were OK - inline along with places and cheaper than the automobile. I'd return without hesitation.
I've had several good experiences with City Lock. Better prices and options compared to major vehicle dealer, fairly fast, available on weekend, fantastic quality well-working keys.
Can I mention that his quote was $250 and never once did he offer an apology to hassle and the wait.
I bought an OEM key on Amazon (which might or might not function ) but the seller said they'd cut a key which I earned as long as I knew that it may not work (Search for OEM and not just"compatible with"). I am hoping it will work and I will let you know....but do not go to this guy!
He called me THREE DAYS LATER to tell me I could come get my vital made.
Not unless you absolutely have to...I had something quite different from the average brand new locks and keys to the home (If you ever purchase a used car with only 1 key, be ready to spend a package for another key)...I get it, then it's more complicated. After obtaining a dealer quote ($225) I moved to City Lock and waited patiently behind another customer obtaining a car key made and programmed. While he helped an older gentleman who walked in after me and wanted brand new home keys and an appointment, I waited. . .and waited a little more because the program running and was being hinky that day and he couldn't get up. I gave my telephone number to him and requested him to call me when it had been fixed; errands for a while would run.
Jeff is your man, If you need somebody that has years of experience to get a specialization lock or fob. In terms of the reviews below that he's a jerk, he is a straight shooter. He will explain to you it is. I love his directness. He's quite competent. I will always appreciate competency on a smile.
He also fixed my custom made doorway I dare say that he is the only in Boulder that would take the opportunity to find the producer that is obscure. You get what you pay for, although yes, you can find services and cheaper products.
This guy has a poor attitude and charged us $200 to do a minor fix. We'll never use City Lock . Given the unusual mix of 1 star and 5 star reviews I guess the positive reviews were written by friends and family. (If he has friends...)
City lock confirmed it worked and was able to program the secret.
We dropped one of the keys to our Toyota and we looked for different options, after obtaining a quote from Boulder Toyota for $350. There are a lot of forums and videos about keys but ultimately this model isn't programmable without special tools. To save a little money I thought I'd have it programmed and purchased a online. After trying a couple lock companies in the city I called City Lock.
I had a bad experience with a fly and expected more of the same here. Turns out the owner has been in operation for quite a long time and has a profound understanding of locks.
The keys are proprietary technology from Toyota and the City Lock explained the manufacturers that are online market them as brand new and will only recycle the electronic equipment from keys that are older. There's no generic remote key for Toyotas that are recent.
I did get a attitude about buying keys online and their high possibility.
An extremely personable and educated locksmith he tried to repair it and knew the issue with my automobile lock. The difficulty was not the lock and even though he did Lots of work I didn't charge me highly recommend Jeff
So impressed with the support here. I've been coming back into City Lock for years, but last week I had some work done for my truck to a Sunday before I left for a road trip (my bad procrastinating) and he showed up and was hugely helpful in rigging out some components to make the locks work despite not having what was needed in stock. They went out of their way, and I could not have been more thankful. Thanks city lockfor saving the day!
My FOB wasn't working figure out. Thought it would be a quick fix and after he had fixed it, did not charge me. He gave plenty of very good information to me after we understood that it wasn't a permanent fix and rather than attempting to sell something expensive which he wasn't sure would work, he made an proper referral the automobile. Very helpful, would highly suggest this business!
Wow, not certain where of the ratings are coming from, but have used City Lock 3 times in the last year like replacing the locks and I couldn't possibly have received better support. Responsive and knowledgable, no need to use anyone else.
I had and I had to change . The owner refused to change my locks without a police help, which was absurd, he did not live here. The owner accused me ! Please do not encourage them if they wouldn't help a woman in need.
Customer service experience of my life. No exaggeration. Possesses the place could not find parking and got upset with me when I asked him to walk. After waiting, since he said he would charge me for even just coming out, he said I had been stressing him out and that I should not live somewhere with a bunch of additional espresso drinking snobs. He left me stranded with my dog outside of my house at night. Asshole proceed, and the worst treatment I have received. Ever. Don't use these guys. Telephone Boulder Mobile Locksmith instead. Those guys were courteous, prompt, and professional. The man that runs this place deserves to lose his enterprise.
Needed to find a cut and purchase a safe for work. The man who assisted me was quite pleasant, educated, and ready to work with me, and even threw with all the price of this secure in the key-cutting. No complaints .
