The shop is situated on Mission St and 29th Street. Upon entering the shop, there were tons of cabinet hardware displays around the walls and on the ground. So many to choose from, you need to get focused on what you're looking for otherwise it's information overload!
We arrived here from Hundley Hardware who are closing their retail hardware business. They transferred Don's their cabinet hardware business.
We were looking for brushed/satin nickel or stainless steel handles and pulls. It's definitely worth your time to go and touch and feel the hardware. Not all pulls are made the same. The placement of the curves and edges matter! We enjoyed a pull along with a knob . The sales person said they are a pretty close match in color. He shot the two displays and set them together and that he had been perfect! I have my hardware!!

Our gate latch failed and it stressed me out that we could be locked from the home. Mark came on time and fixed it! Thank you a lot!

Really bad attitude and they Don't Have Lots of Abilities they said they did not have the abilities these were Just Two basic keys and I asked for Just Two simple request

Lousy place to go; not advised. I moved to pair a car cylinder locks they charged a lot of money for a 5' occupation, poorly done, rather than in time. Excuses for the delay. . (we're busy...) Do not go...

This place is great! I had a few keys copied for a new flat - it was very fast and the secrets worked like a charm! Will be back shortly to find some car and motorcycle keys copied, which other places haven't managed to do.

I wanted to enjoy this place! I purchased a replacement secret for my Toyota from them. They stated that they'd call and it would take 2 weeks to come in. I never heard from them . I called back after 3 weeks, and again after another 2 weeks, and then again after a month. They called me back, although every time they took a message and said they would call back .
I gave up and made an appointment in the Toyota dealership.

Called after locking out myself when my roommate was out of town, and getting the name from my property management company. They let me in under 30 minutes and arrived - Donny was friendly and super professional, and got me in! Payment was fair and easy. Would recommend!

Great customer support was received by us from Robert. We were looking for Don-Jo Extended Lip Strike Plates, a niche product, and they had some in stock. We appreciated Robert's even assessing styles to find out whether the lead time would have been reduced and calling many providers and wanted to support their enterprise. Regrettably, the time didn't meet with our deadline. We will definitely go back for any future needs!

My builder referred me for door knobs for a remodel project to Don's. Donnie walked me through what I was quite knowledgeable about a number of different brands and needed to know. Found cost and a product I had been super happy with, they did the setup, it all went smoothly. I lock needs and will definitely use them again in the future for my knob.

Prompt, efficient, courteous/polite... needed a new attack latch on our security gate. They gave me a entrance window (OK, a 2:00 - 6:00 window, a big window). Technician called at 3:00 to arrive at 3:30... came early. Done by 3:50. than competitor quotes projected. Outstanding!

Customer Service here is TOP NOTCH! Mark was at my door a 20 mins after my initial call to the store on a Monday morning and it was not a crisis. The door into my location was locked from the inside, leaving me locked out when I had to run out without my keys into my hallway. He took apart the lock, lubricated itfixed the grab (that was always troublesome) and explained what happened as he reset it. Perfect and fast. He was even while dealing with cat that is nosey and my over protective small dog. I feel so blessed understanding that these people are right around the corner . Thanks Don's Key & Lock!

I needed 4 keys so I could not justify the cost when I have previously made transponder keys. Amazon sold the blanks for $13 and a secret will be charged around $ 5 by local locksmiths. He explained his price on the blank was 75!
I came in to copy my truck key even though it would take more than 30 minutes per key, and they lent me $100 + saying that I could try and program the key myself. He was adamant about how I would be waiting the entire time, and how long it would take to self schedule.

In the long run I went to Home Depot. I programmed the secret in 5 seconds.

If you'd like a store that is solid, start looking for the one in SOMA. I go to them was in the region attempted this place.
3. Remove key, within 10 seconds add new key, turn to on.
4. The dashboard security light will light up for two seconds signaling successful program.
The store is clean and bright. They seem friendly once they talk business it's just services.

The guys at Don's Lock and Key sells locksets that are compatible with safety gates that are elderly. What we looked for was something quite specific: a deadbolt that could be rekeyed into some Schlage lockset, had a more narrow tube latch to operate on gates, AND was in a finish. I phoned all over the Bay Area and Don's was the location that knew what I looked for. We have one crucial to deal with and are totally satisfied. :-)

Service is great. Don is quite friendly. My entire home was rekeyed with doorknobs. I love the styles this shop carries. All high quality.

I have discovered that Mario's Locksmith that's also on Mission. They are friendly, helpful, and the best aspect of allis that they are more affordable. I do have to return to this place.
Up until today, I've come here multiple times to buy lock and locks accessories for specific things that places like Home Depot and Lowes do not carry. Customer support and helpfulness isn't a strong suit for some of their employees. One timeI had a very old electrical attack I needed to have replaced since it broke. The older one was taken by me to them and they stated it had been stopped. She stated she'd discover the current version get back to me, and to replace this one. She never did get back to me.

Our lock is currently'like new' and we did not need to buy a new one! Additionally, they helped me troubleshoot after I got home, getting back the lock to the gate. I started with Don and Donnie ended up coming out to help. Great guys, good service, keep it up!
This is the place, if you want your keys or your own locks DONE RIGHT.
I had a lock my gate which was super finicky. They might have sold me an entirely new lock - rather, helped realign (?) The one I had and cut on keys that are new. Turns out that when you get copies of copies created at the neighborhood hardware store, they key and lock get out of alignment with time. Don's Key & Lock do it right. They create a key that is custom to your lock. Not a copy of your copy. Consequently, if you want a secret that is going to open easy - each moment, do it .

I like these guys! I use them in my line of work (property ) in addition to personal usage. Always nice, helpful and well priced.

The choice and service this is top notch! The staff here went above and beyond to help me not only put in a new door lock and handle but also helped me resolve a significant problem with the door not and being obstructed . Massive shout out and invite you to Donnie who has helped me order several handles and other various projects that are lock/key. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the very best items to purchase my house, provided a range of affordable items (with fantastic quality), also did an wonderful job installing/following up on most of the tedious extra tasks--using a super friendly attitude.
I have a couple more projects left that will need handle lock installments about going anywhere else and I will not think!

Extraordinarily service. Above and beyond my own expectations. Highly recommend.
