Comments

Both and technicians were excellent.
I had an excellent experience with a home visit!
Great service, integrity and wonderful people!

Had a deadbolt issue that is stuck. They knocked on out it . Don was like the belt that is grandmaster. Highly recommended. Great service. Friendly team. 5 stars!!!

This location does it all. I only need things that are regular but this is should you require weird shit just like a key or whatever.

. Glenview was predicted by me, they are awesome. Had in stock what I wanted. I bought 3 Abus padlocks, turned out one wouldn't match the hasp, no difficulty to return next day. This will be my go.
The 1 guy at the counter was at a deep conversation with a builder about cars (not lock associated ). I must have stood there 5 minutes before he'd assist, which was little to none. He seemed to Only Want to get back to the guy

This week we came by for rekeying with 6 outside locks, and Don did them. Complete expert! This really is an excellent local shop and each time we have had aid, Glenview Lock has done a professional job. Theyhelped me rekey a lock once I've dropped by with you, or've come to our home to put in rekey and locks.
Thanks to Don, Ian, Sarah, and Dan.
Don is amazing! He oiled the locks themselves, in addition to cleaned and recently made custom keys for our mortise locks. He repaired one of those locks. We removed the locks out of our (interior) doors ourselves and dropped them off at the shop for Don to operate on. He got the job done and constantly called when locks and the keys were prepared and to upgrade on price.

Thank goodness for Dan and the team at Glenview Key and Lock.Fantastic experience.
I have a 90 year old (gorgeous) door lock and a role in the lock died. This isn't something that you can just get at home depot! Dan identified what we needed, assessed the problem, came out and found the role in their assortment of older parts. They know their locality and can fix even the things that are oldest. I'm sure newer locks would be simpler.

Now for the negatives. The parking is a nightmare in this neighborhood so if you don't get lucky, prepare to increase. It's a charming little neighborhood so if you're not pressed for a while and you may use the exercise, no big thing. The largest negatives are that both 30ish year old guys who aided me (one on each of 2 occasions) didn't even try to hide their pure disdain for me. Being that I do not have privileged access to anyone's mind, I do not know if I reminded them of somebody, it was a case of a bad day (in either or either case), or they just did not care for my own sort. One time? I'll try to locate another locksmith it is farther away next time.
Oh and they tend to be closed in the middle afternoon for one hour or so, even though they seem to have multiple workers.
I have employed this locksmith a few times and there are different pluses and minuses. They could get the task done as far as accomplishing what you want to achieve, in my own case an integral duplication and keyless vehicle entry controller battery replacement. The second plus is that when I called them they were helpful and pleasant on the phone (it was a girl I talked with). This girl in addition to the interactions that were other I have seen seemed considerate.

Fantastic service. Very fast. Desired a replica of an elevator key that was tiny. Duplicate came out perfect.

Waste of time.Absolute and complete wast of time.
The proprietor not an employee showed up late, listened poorly, misdiagnosed the circumstance, never provided a solution.

I left the appointment late Thursday, for the next day (Friday). Dan called a few minutes before the time started. Not only did he start, he fixed a nearly 100 year-old lock and deadbolt that was going to fall out of the doorway and took good care of another troublesome lock.... At at a reasonable price. Dan walked us through the completed work and was really polite and patient throughout the visit. All this on a Friday at almost 5:00. What. I couldn't recommend highly enough.

I can't even provide a 1 star. . Just talked to Debbie the proprietor who had been rude and swore about her workers to me becoming a-holes. . Whoever works there get out now! It had been locked with a different key when I made the appt I explained it was a key lock but the exact same key wouldn't unlock it. . When I wasn't there, I made an appt for Fri at 11 Thur was shown up by them rather. . The poor guy who showed up didn't have the expertise to do the job. . He was very apologetic.

Over time I have utilized Glenview Key & Lock, Reed Brothers (Oakland), and Rex (in Berkeley). All provide work that is very good, but Glenview has been useful each time. I usually have questions once I had to figure something out, and they're about answering offering alternatives, so personable.
Where it is extremely nice to look around and maybe get something to eat, I prefer the quieter neighborhood. (Metered Parking on the main street, but in the event that you can walk a couple of blocks there's free parking further up Park or on the side streets.)
So. . I have returned to Glenview. Now, I have intended to write a Yelp review in the past and doing it. Simple to get there from either Route 13 or 580. (I enjoy advantage, quality of work, and nice people)
I had a replacement for a lost key. They had been so helpful on the phone, describing how we can proceed and then checking back with me to provide options to me.

Wow!Locksmith man was cool too! Highly recommended.

Locked myself out and took a brick. The lock has been keyed the same as seven locks at the home and I was positive I wasn't going to get away without spending at least $150. I predicted Montclair Hardware and Glenview was recommended by them. I took the brick adjusted lock Glenview and in five minutes I had and matched my locksets from the door.

Excellent customer support by RAJIV, he went over and beyond the call of duty and provided excellent customer care.
We are super thankful.

If you're looking for a dependable locksmith, I suggest using Reed Brother's at Oakland.
As an onsite manager, I have used Glenview Key and Lock many times a year. My experience with them was great until this year. From the first years of using them, I was able to make a quick phone call to schedule a re-key that would occur within two or a day. . .sometimes the day. The agents were courteous, friendly and I felt valued as a client. The last couple of times I have used them however, I was made to feel anything BUT. I have always had a nice experience with the support on site. . .but the agents scheduling my services are rude and act as though they are doing me a"favor" by putting me onto their very hectic schedule.
. .keys were stolen by a tenant. This puts the building in danger and is an issue. I purchased 20 of the same key to be cut and wanted to schedule the job asap. The representative informs me that he has to phone my Property Management Company to get acceptance. Remember this isn't a policy of my service. . .AND this isn't the first time I've had Glenview re-key my entire construction. This IS the first time I have been told I had consent. The representative wouldn't even schedule the job until he verified with my service. After saying he would call back, he hung up. However 5 minutes had passed and before going to a meeting that couldn't be interrupted I had to schedule the job.
It's very possible that they have become so busy they truly don't have time to accommodate a. Glenview has lost my construction for a client this week, based in my experience. This company is apparently overly big/busy to take care about the people who have brought them consistent company for the last seven years.
I called back and got an additional representative. I explained what was happening and asked when I could envision the job and I'd ensure they had the'acceptance' they had prior to the job. I asked if I could pick up the new keys that the next day (Tuesday), then schedule the re-key for two days later (Wednesday). He stated they were completely booked and cut . That we would need to look at scheduling the job the next week.

We got in there, they had they could dislodge the key from the lock that I couldn't and they could make me a couple spares. They.

They were fast, very friendly, and very affordable. The experience relieved the stress I had been dealing with in hours.
I had inadvertently backed up to a little overhang at my apartment using a bicycle in my roof racks. This caused my stand to pop off with no other noticeable damage (fortunately ). Needless to say I became rather stressed and of trying to unlock the other parts of my roof rack, at the process I snapped my bicycle rack key inside of my roof rack.
We ended up eliminating the whole rack setup and when I showed up they were very beneficial and they took it inside and worked on it and were able to eliminate the key.
Thanks so much for the help
The customer support here was great.

I hope they find a way to restore information flow and some simple accountability. I personally really don't see how I can continue to count on them for vital key & lock services.
I called the office now that was myself, and it didn't do any good. The individual I talked to was quite kind, but could not tell me whether anybody from Glenview Key & Lock came here during my appointment. I asked him when his team could find out what happened and get back to me. He said there wasn't any way to learn for certain. He offered to schedule a new appointment. . .but why could I roll the dice when I don't know whether the first one took place--or, if it did no fix occurred?
Jeez, I'm a bit stunned. I have always thought of the place as an institution that was excellent. They were recommended by always. Thursday I scheduled a strike adjustment of the doors for a few to be completed. After Thursday, there was no indication that any work was done. Perhaps it was? Perhaps the technician no-showed? Not certain. Either way could have been nice.

THIS PLACE if You Would like to see WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is REALLY LIKE! Called them and inquired about a realtor fashion"lockbox" and they said,"come on by, we've got them." They pointed them out to me, and showed up, frees me up and then showed me the way to set the lock. Cool Beans! Why go someplace else everyone in the store was friendly? They worked on fixing a lock on a desk drawer, which makes keys and of course.

Did my automobiles crucial here. All turned out great. Parking near it is tuff during evening and weekend.
