Weekly lawrence from Reliable Locksmith's 24/7 emergency support just saved.
I can definitely recommend that you call Reputable Locksmith's 24/7 emergency support, if you are locked out in Washington, DC. Fantastic support, great people.
Well, thank goodness I had my iPhone on me personally. I found the number for Reputable as one of the entries that popped up in my hunt for locksmiths and attempted them. Lawrence was in my door within half an hour (the company is not located in the Capitol Hill area where I had been, therefore there was some traveling time involved - but I still didn't know the geography in the time), also with a couple minutes' labor, he obtained my lock open - and for under $100. Fast, polite, and service that is efficient - and also a massive relief for me personally.
I am staying in a friend's for a week while they're traveling out of the nation and here in town. There were two locks on door, but one had been broken, which they cautioned me. Obviously, my first time stepping out for lunch, without thinking I set the lock. . .and locked out myself, for the landlord indoors with the contact information. The upstairs neighbors were out - so what to do?
Laurence Smith showed up to provide some support to my older neighbor which consisted of installing iron rails, mulch and evergreens, of course to say the railings which he installed September is now rusted, the evergreens are dead and the mulch is YUCKY! She's been reaching out for him for 11 months and he finally showed up, she asked a refund which he promptly refused,....never ended trimming her hedges from the backyard, yet he keeps promising to return. How he says he owns a farm where he grows crops in Maryland is outside me and locksmith, he took advantage of a 97 year-old girl, please avoid this company.
Locked myself out of apartment on a Friday night. Reliable answered quickly and Paul the locksmith was at my location in about an hour. It took all of a tiny DW40 and five minutes and that I was back indoors. He drove me into the ATM for money to pay the $125 cost (and avoid a $25 credit/check fee). While I do not wish a lockout on anybody...I advise this company if you by chance have this misfortune.
Lawrence set up a new lock in May on our back gate. A month later we whined that it had been loose, together with all the component holding the deadbolt. He said he would come correct it but didn't come, did not even call to say he couldn't make it. It stopped functioning together with the cylinder. Lawrence said he would come correct it, said he recalled that the task required welding, but he blew us off more -- no call. We got somebody to fix it without a welding has been required. Really weird encounter.
INDEED STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Lawrence (manager) arrived 2 1/2 hours on 9/9 to check and gave an estimated price but would only replace with Kwikset lock. He indicated that Schlage was type or inferior lock. My partner insisted it could be substituted with Schlage new as front lock had to comply with Condo rules. Lawrence took a set of key and front cylinder .
I'm appalled business work ethics and by Reliable Locksmiths support. It seems that their principle of providing good customer support is unobtainable.
Finally on 9/15 @ 9 am my partner spoke to cancel service. Excuse was that they were far too busy and product not offered. It wasn't until 2.40 pm that these were also returned.
Late on 9/10 after my partner made a telephone call just to be informed that we'd hear back 9/14 of its delivery and setup. There was no such yield or courtesy call created.
Called Central Locksmiths straight away who substituted the front lock inside one hour of touch.
INCOMPETENT AND UNRELIABLE! About 7PM around 9/7 we were locked out of the location . Because it was after hours, the service call fee was $145 plus tax $8.70 = $153.70 to get us inside the apartment. Next day, my partner visited Reliable Locksmith shop front on 11th St NW (which can be run down and unattended) therefore he contacted their telephone centre to replace and fix Schlage Omega lock.
I called Lawrence in Reliable around noon on Wednesday to receive a quote to put bars on my windows. He arrived promptly and supplied a quote to me and had them installed Friday-- custom fit to my windows. He was very pleasant to handle and I got a fair price for my rush service. Thanks.
STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! At 11am on Thursday, I called to learn the condition of the locksmith. Told me that they didn't make my VW key. I advised her that I'd spoken with three different people and asked how that is possible. I requested to talk with the manager. She would call me back and explained that the manager the guy I talked with the day, was on the telephone again. As of 8:30am on Friday, I have yet to receive a return call. I just don't know why they didn't tell me that they could not make the key .
I called them Friday to schedule a consultation to get a locksmith to generate a new Volkswagen key (which needs programming). I talked with a girl who quoted me $130 for the key AND programming--I made sure to ask whether programming was included. She told me that they could not come out over the weekend, but to call back on Monday and they would come out.
This has got to be the worst locksmith in DC.
I called on Monday and affirmed both the cost and they can produce the key.
Be forewarned: this area is really a joke. Stay far, far away!
I predicted at 9:15 am on Wednesday to schedule the locksmith. Frank, supposedly the manager/owner, told me that it had been raining in DC and the locksmith might not be in a position to come out this day because of the rain. When he'd know for sure, I asked. He said he'd call me backagain. 3.5 hours later, I called them and asked for an upgrade. Frank stated he would call back, although he didn't have one yet. Finally I called back and demanded an answer. Frank stated they would not have the ability to come out this day because someone in Florida was sick and could not fax the VW dealer. I confirmed the price tag, which went up to $160, and the services being supplied (a new key and programming). Frank assured me repeatedly that someone could be at my home at 11am the next day and took down my VIN number.

They were very receptive.
My jacket (with keys) was stolen New Year's Eve. An attorney was in my home and was at my home about a half hour later.
