I've used Village several times and I'm quite pleased with their services. Prices are fair and the proprietor is a man that is really great. Local business that's been in Poway. I would highly recommend.

As they started making the initial key needed a replica of a secret made I requested them to wait because I need to be sure I have enough cash since I noticed the sign $10 minimum. I asked what the cost was and I thought I heard .75 per, so I said okay, I know I need to have enough for 1 key, but continue please, let me check my car.
I find out I have a $1 in change, I run back and tell him I have enough for one, I look on the counter and there are 2 keys. Subsequently the total is 5.75, I told the guy, I thought it was.75 clearly I misheard him and he also didn't hear me say wait even though he nodded. I wind up buying some keys for to $10.
What's sad is that was a Home Depot closer to my job, but I wanted to encourage a business. Now following this experience I'll be going to Home Depot. I didn't need $10 worth of the exact same key when I requested them to wait patiently, and additionally they didn't listen.

Alan and Todd are equally great in every way. I have taken a couple of deadbolt cylinders to the shop where Todd looked after immediately rekeying them for a very reasonable price. Alan has also been out to our home a few of times to assist with different lock difficulties. Webought a brand new front door and wanted it rekeyed to match with the other doors. It was a fashion of lock which I had never seen before and I did not understand how to remove the cylinder to take it. Alan had it removed and rekeyed and came out in no time. And the best part remembered us so he did not charge a trip charge. These men are timely, professional, clean and customers are remembered by them. They will be.

I am not certain what language I am permitted to use. I've got good words. These people are bandits. (quite common among locksmiths-------think about it) They charged my spouse $11.58 for two common household keys. From today on, my attitude is going to be the mom and pop could go to hell. These bandits don't have any conscience.

Went back another time after the 3 keys copies he made STILL doesn't work again and shop the first time didn't work. Even with the very first error, no offer to compensate me won't even fit in the lock! I'm not convinced the owner knows the employee doesn't know how to produce copies that are crucial. Also I had to pay money for those keys. Staff and their old place was great!

They did a fantastic job rekeying the locks in my home and setting up me with an excellent lock. They had no problem adding a deadbolt into a metal exterior door. Reasonable prices and their quality work have ensured I recommend them to anyone who requests.

First time usage. There is something wrong with the man. It would appear that the owner is the man that is taller and I did not have any problem with him. However the other man is blunt and rude to customers. Was pissed off with his rude attitude and the way he talks as well. Same thing happened to me personally. He was disappointed with Samsung Pay at the conclusion. I asked him to give it a try since I know everyone says the narrative although he said his machine doesn't take it as it doesn't have that tech. Eventually he accepted it after some arguments as expected, and it worked. And he also changed his story because more fee charges that it isn't accepted by them. No reason to see again.

So I brought in one of those locks, lost the keys to my house and they were able to re-make the key it works in all the locks and that I dropped! It'd have been hundreds, When I had the entire house re-keyed! Todd and Alan were quite beneficial! A+

My family and I have been doing business and we couldn't be happier!!! If they offer service then or don't communicate well than once, it is that simple. They have knocked it outa the park and have done jobs for us each time!! Alan, the proprietor, is a stand up guy and cares about his biz and most importantly his clients!! He and his crew are top notch and will probably be our go to guys for any locksmith needs for so long as we are in San Diego, which can be forever!! #HA !!! ;-)

First time. They will have to be programmed and charged $55 without telling me upfront that it won't work following the cut to reduce my Honda key. Proceeded and charged the $$ then told me"we only guarantee that it turns, yet another $80+ to plan it".
While I understand that it costs to replace these keys and I should have researched more to know about this myself, I hate to see this type of services whenever they just don't need to tell you things upfront until it is done... halfway and inform you that it costs $$ extra to do so & that...

Went here a few months back for my car keys. Some employee made me 2 keys however this morn come to locate didnt match my glove box key. Brought them back and the great man that helped me(I feel that the owner) immediately made them correctly with no cost and apologized no questions asked. So brilliant. Fantastic small business folks. Its the small things in life that build the outcome. I shall def refer all my friends n family to this small business. Thank You Village Lock and Key:-RRB-)

My daughter was locked from our house when her key broke in the lock. I called, left my office and they met me in the house the moment I came home... within 20 minutes out of my initial call. He forced my daughter a replacement key, fixed something that he saw caused the lock and got the key out. All for the lockout that is original call quote.
This firm is highly recommended by me.

My husband and I just purchased a town home in Torrey Highlands and we got the secrets that the morning I called to see if they could come out and rekey. Allen called me immediately and arrived within hours. He had been so useful supplying ideas to change out and switch others and replacing all of locks. He was professional and very friendly and a genuine nice guy! I urge them!! and can use them them

I called to get a key made and they offered me $45. I went there the following day only for them to inform me I needed to bring that car. So I changed cars rushed back home to Escondido in Poway and rear with a toddler in tow and ran to the shop only to inform me insufficient time. Because I wasted all that gasoline and time for 20, I went back to my car and sat in tears. Never again will I believe this location. With the gasoline I wasted, I would be the same if I went to the dealer. Wish I could rate zero!

Dave saved the day on Thanksgiving when I locked my husband, myself, and mother out of the house! He arrived 15 minutes sooner than since we recently moved to our new location, he was quick to get us in and changed and said the locks for us. Thank goodness he was accessible, although anyone or him bugging on a vacation. Thank you Dave and Village Lock & Key!!!

These are the men and women who mean business! Right on time very professional response right away sir! Mailbox lock replacement. I head to my house and took my mails, after opening it. And the guy gave the keys for the mail to me and came once I drop my mail . Paid him the money that was spent. Thank you.
Additionally for car keys a long time ago they did a fantastic job! I did it in Walmart but it did not work, I attempted the kiosk machine nope that's when I did it and arrived to see them and for sure it is going to do the job. Great.

They cost slightly more, that's the 4 star justification, but that is the price of convenience for a physical location. We will be back for hope and services that Village will do them both as well.
The location is great, it is in a mall that is convenient, well lit and there is seating inside to wait patiently while you need work done. They are within walking distance, if you need to get grocery stores or tasks.
We had a door knob. I had been referred to Village Lock & Key from a local locksmith who couldn't make it out. Great advice. We immediately went to the location had our locks a little repair and re-keyed. Service was done professional and the location is great. When you receive peer reviewed referrals you know you're good. The shop has a huge inventory and they have it, if you need something. Another wonderful feature is that Village Lock & Key is open on Saturdays and has a physical location to drop stuff off at.

Had to drill a hole to the cylinder in my wooden framed glass sliding door.
He was fast but ran into troubles once it came time to do the job. It appears my door handle was secured by the bolt! He set up the brand new handle discovered that the holes that the lock matches through weren't in the appropriate place OR and set. The magician was able to make it work.
Nice to know I've a'lock guy' now.
Had my house rekeyed after moving . A couple of locks did not fit so we put new ones in. He noticed there were a few latches failing so those were replaced.
He ended up doing more work than anticipated but the extra charge was minimal. Very fair prices to get a harmless quick, and easy transaction.

I've Mentioned it before and I'll SAY IT AGAIN!!! I wanted them for my business for a fire department condition. Todd came out and was prepared to go but BAM! Decision - my doors weren't standard... he sat and thought and finally said that he had to return to his store and build something unique for my doors. He came back two days later, had manufactured a new part, got the component installed and still only charged me exactly what he initially quoted (even though it was a crapton more work and much more merchandise! AND, he essentially invented something to make it work!)
