I used this company twice and the first thing I need to say... They seem super F***ing expensive. To replace my kitchen faucet was nearly $800!!! The faucet was just like $250 online, but I don't understand what they had been charging for the actual faucet versus labour vs warranty because they don't give an authentic invoice, which is beyond obnoxious to you. When you do ask for an itemized invoice it shows"faucet and setup". BUT- their technicians would be something or the least dishonest seeming I have ever seen along with the lady who answers the phone is super nice, like she should be on one of these home shopping channels. I would give 5 stars because their service was so good, but I can't with all the pricing that is large and. I took off one star for each issue.
Also - note the discrepancy between also the reviews that are google and the yelp reviews. They definitely have fake reviews on google (reports with just a couple of testimonials , only reviewing stampede etc.). Terrible company practice, but that is one good thing about yelp - .
While making the appointment which we were having issues with our gasoline burners I explained about the phone and I had been told that someone would come to repair it. He says I now owe a service fee of $69 only for arriving in and they do not conduct appliance repair, when the repair person arrived. They could have explained this on the first call like this business is out to make money over 24, but it seems! What a scam!
Here is the time that I use Benjamin Franklin and job that is superb! Friendly service and prompt. The first time I used them was to replace my shower thoughts they cleaned up well and exchanged. The next time was because I believed my toilet was clogged but found a little perfume bottle was stuck indoors. The 3rd was because of origins in my sew line. They seem to be the most reliable because when I've called other companies I don't get phone back or the support call is 2-3 day wait although, I do think they are somewhat pricey. Because of their response time, never and friendliness as soon as they finish the job and that I having issues will continue to use them.
Quality work, but way overpriced. $300.00 for $50.00 worth of components (new toilet flange, caulking, wax seal) and $70.00 for just showing up. If circumstances were different, I would have used someone else.
John came to change my RO filters but told me before he examined the problem, I had to change the tank. Changed the filter AND THE TANK but I still have a problem. Seems before examing the situation, he is looking to charge the customers . Interesting?
$70 to come out to my home and tell me how much more you're bill to replace my water heater? No thanks.
When I read your prices are absurd. I found several other regional plumbing companies willing to give me an estimate (non-binding) on the telephone so I could make an educated decision on which was within my budget. I'm also not searching for someone to fleece me, although I'm not searching for the most affordable price.
These individuals have a serious price problem. $480 put in a faucet and to reconnect a disposal? The work two days of one hour caution for schedule, no specialty gear, no stuff required.
But they want to charge for each job, in addition to the trip charge, therefore $180 for its faucet install, $120 for its disposal (I furnished), and the $70 trip charge. Every other plumber I have used could have waived the trip charge if I required their work claim and discounted among the additional things because they are on site.
I used them but wrote off the fee to weekend emergency support. Evidently everything is weekend emergency prices.
Plumber was nice -- polite, clean, good quality work, zero complaints.
These men saved the day for me. Wouln't you know the day my garage floor was being prepared for paint, the water heater ruptured. I begged the dispatcher to send someone out. Prior to a plumber showed up I had to wait a few hours. Caleb was professional, friendly and skilled. Had the water heater replaced about one hour. Caleb was the reason that was a fantastic experience for me. Thank you!
Buyer beware.
Another revelation: It comes with a two-year guarantee. Anything breaks or leaks within two decades, and they will fix it for free. However, I paid the price to cover the chance of their having to fix it a second time. (My plumber is one-third the cost and offers a man-to-man reasonable guarantee )
The plumber I usually use (licensed, bonded and insured) was on vacation, so I called Benjamin Franklin predicated on their Yelp testimonials, their much-advertised BBB ratings, etc.. I actually only for a single reason, and wish I hadn't: The price was really unreal, even.
The headline: my mortgage to repair a spigot was eaten by Benjamin Franklin. I simply can't afford to use them .
Oh, for them to show up and there is a fee. You'll be in it for $70, so you are more inclined to do it, when they strike you with all the price.
My experience together started with a hose bibb. My renter shut the water off in the ball valve below the hose bibb, she could not get the water flowing again -- broken ball valve.
The bad cost to replace two hose bibbs and a ball valve for a stuck spigot: $800. Full disclosure: They threw at a"reduction," decreasing the price to $660. So $40 in parts, and $760 in labor (before that candies discount). Though the renter said the plumber has been there more than two hours -- for an hour's worth of work.
The story:
I've attached photographs. If they don't get removed, you can see what's going to cost you $800 $660. He really gasped when my plumber discovered the price. (Do you know how hard it is to earn a plumber gasp in a price?)
The good: They showed up inside their three-hour window and then fixed the issue.
I called to install maintenance in my gas hot water heater. 8-12 window, they all txt me the day before to confirm appointment time. I took the time off work, no call, no txt, no email, no smoke signs & no show. My following plumbing issue will go to some other company. So freakin' rude call to say you won't show. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
Update: WhenBenjamin Franklin arrived, they tried to upsell is everything. Among those things they said was that we had tough water (we now have a water purifier ). We did a"test" to be able to sell us their method that has been tens of thousands of dollars. Well, I said I'd have the company that installed the original unit (3 years old) to see why we had hard water. Well, the Benjamin Franklin rep did the test. Apparently kitchen countertops are not even the tender water loop in houses. We did tests and they all came out that we had water. The Benjamin Franklin rep attempts to fool us by testing a source that was not assumed to be soft water and scare us into buying their badly overpriced unit. Very unsatisfactory.
And when I replied, she informed me that I was not in the machine, exactly what Roxanne explained. She provided to re schedule and that I diminished
I got a coupon in the mail. They market as the"punctual plumber". So much so that in the event that you say the term punctual when booking your service call is free. Yesterday, I called and was pleasantly surprised to be offered an appointment now from since I work during the day having an arrival window of 5 to 8, which can be ideal.
I call the number on saying hello, and at first I'm hung up. No big deal,I've worked on call centers things occur. I call and my info is taken by the broker, and places me. For 2 minutes! Or at least that's where I wrapped up. I called back and obtained Roxanne, who informed me that I was not in the system. She'd say she had to put me and I asked her to promise while on hold the representative who had placed me called back, and she wouldn't make me wait long. It had been 14 minutes since I'd been placed on hold
If I could give less than one star,I would. I guess the one star will visit the agent I spoke with Roxanne.
After not showing up, they removed the punctual reduction. The broker said that the phone agents for the company work from home,so maybe I just got a bad one as my appointment was just never entered into the system. As I never got a plumber, I guess my complaint is not against the plumbing job they do. Beware since you might encounter difficulty having your phone call taken seriously scheduling.
We ended the phone, and that I ended both calls. Figuring I wasn't likely to schedule again I didn't call back. Rocamme really called me after that, and stated the punctual discount would not apply, therefore it would be 129!!!, although they might come out tonight
Surprisingly they didn't show. Or call. I noticed a no wait guarantee is offered by them, and grabbed the coupon for the number at 8 pm. Something along the lines of $5/min,which can be crazy. I'm convinced there is a limitation, but anyhow. .
I am beyond happy. Both of these gentlemen are welcome in my home anytime; when needed and they will be asked back for future job.
I'd really like to talk with their direction to elaborate about what fine individuals these men are.
When you love what you do and you also eat results from your labor not only produce a better quality end result, it shows your customers that you care so everything.
I detected these two men talking with zeal and enthusiasm about their vocation and periodically went to see just how things were going. What techniques were becoming more used to provide results that are far better, tools of the trade, tricks to getting the job done poking fun at their pursuit in cleaning and prepping pipe fittings. It was refreshing to hear love for one's job.
The workmanship of the installation exceeded my expectations and I anticipate getting cleaner water.
We had and after a conversation with my wife, we decided we wanted to continue an improvement and have a water softener installed. Benjamin Franklin was phoned by me back as they scheduled an appointment and had supplied a quote.
Dekota showed up as expected and walked me through all of the work he'd do and supplied advice concerning the benefits I should expect in addition to the warranty, maintenance and what I should expect from him. Still another gentleman; Joe came to bring extra components and provide some help. Joe was as friendly and the two got right to work.
I feel ripped off! I paid $70 excursion fee for an estimate to install. The cost was four times that which technicians would charge, although I was willing to pay a normal price for labor. You may need to be stupid or desperate to fork over this sort of money. Avoid at any cost, and look for an honest business instead. I don't understand how they get away with their pricing, and that I need my back.
Possessing a plumbing emergency isn't fun, but calling Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and arranging assistance with Tasha, the extremely useful customer support person that is inside, made the event happen almost instantly. She sent Cameron. Due for making our catastrophe to both vanish in such a timely way. Kudos to you !!!!
We were VERY PLEASED with the work done by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. We finally decided to install 4 safety peened catch bars in the bathrooms of our home and the men who did the installation have been friendly, productive and professional. The job was done in under 3 hours and we highly recommend Chris Thornburg and Mike Hill for their experience. We plan to use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for the other plumbing job we will need to get done. Larry and Gale Sirrine, Chandler, AZ..
Trever arrived at our house to review some issues. Trever spent almost 1 1/2 hours inspecting all parts of the house to establish there were a couple of concerns. Trever gave us 4 distinct alternatives to fix and forever fix our plumbing issues After all things were reviewed. Overall the service and workmanship has been really impressive and I would strongly suggest Benjamin and Trever Franklin for any plumbing requirements.
highly recommend . .
Amazing service now. . Quick, friendly, superb
My DIY faucet fix become a PITA today!! I yelled at the faucet so loud, my dog was becoming fearful!! Found the number of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and known as supposing it'd be Monday/Tuesday until they could make it to the home, since it wasn't a crisis situation. (Talk to my dog about that!!) Their plumber Mark had the problem fixed in short order, and showed up less than one hour afterwards. Certainly will place them in my companies vendor listing! Thanks again BFP!!
Had a leak in upstairs toilet, got a quote of $1000 from Ben Franklin Plumbing, and also the guy was also hoping to sell me a $5000 softener, also was billed $69 for service fee, got the issue fixed from another plumber now for $200, shop around, folks, and Ben Franklin Plumbing is off my list...
