Ensure to know for getting them push to you, that the $15 is only the fee. The labour prices will change and be steep.
On the other hand, he took good care to maintain my car scratch-free, and was fast, professional. My telephone happened to be dead, so that he was nice and lent me although Additionally, I had to transfer money. I'm still upset about feeling ripped-off but at least the overall experience was better than anticipated.
I locked my keys in my car with my key. They promoted a service charge so I thought I would be getting a bargain. They market being lightning fast and that was right. Our locksmith came. He chose to bill me $85 in addition to the $15 fee that was advertised, and took my ID and auto info. $95 total for 15 minutes of work? REALLY?

It states 10$ locksmith online, you presume it will be 10 bucks for the job? Not for them to come, not even look at the car lock and cost 120$ right off the bat. When I asked on the phone what would the charge be, the support man did not bother to inform me an estimate and just said"I have to have a look at your car to inform you."
Don't even bother calling this business, I'm pretty sure they earn their money off of manipulation of a circumstance and, and tactics.
That should have been a warning sign that was huge. He could not tell me.
I'm upset he did not mention the mandatory 10 buck'service charge' until I informed him I wouldn't be going with him. This provider is a waste of the time, do not go together.

To be honest --The dude in Austin locksmith said that their services are safer to your car than pop-a-lock, BUT he used of opening my door as they had the exact same method. He also said that complete coverage car insurance covers their services, but I don't have full coverage insurance and told the service guy that. He would not give me a discount.
I must have called AAA, but the last time I did, the guy had forgotten his jimmy pole showed up after two weeks. Erg. Hopefully I won't need to unlock my car but I am definitely not calling these men when I do.
Entirely overpriced for the ceremony. Therefore I think I am well acquainted with car-unlocking services in Austin in fact, I have locked myself out 3 days in the last year alone.
I'd used pop-a-lock, which is in the ball park of $50. I ended up with Austin Locksmith since pop-a-lock's number was busy and I was using my neighbor's cell phone to call a locksmith -- she got the number so I didn't have much option. Austin locksmith charges 80, their service automobiles are unmarked, their service people don't show ID, and I can not figure out exactly what their 15"service call" fee relies on. When *wouldn't* you have to call them to utilize their services?

They arrived promptly, but needed $300 to unlock my property. That was more than I have paid to locksmiths in the past, so I declined support, but still had to pay $20 for them to come out that wasn't mentioned on the telephone. I telephone or wouldn't recommend this company.

This business deserves a zero star. Austin locksmith phone number 512-434-0484, 24. I came from the door , saturday, and accidentally the door went locked. My staff waited for me, and needed to use his phone. This firm advertises $10, and cost for lockout of home support start at $25.00. They wouldn't provide me a price over the phone when I called them. I told them it was a lock that was standard. When the man came out, instantly he wanted to charge $279.00 plus the $10 trip fee. He spent a great deal of time tell me how difficult this lock was. I told them that this was ridiculous cost, especially when they quote began at $25.00. Variation can there is a lock to go up from $25 to $279.00? He then set the scare that not too many men and women work on a Saturday. He then proceeded to reveal a invoice that it had been fee with this service. I jumped to call other companies, and then he explained $200.00. As my staff needed to depart I was distressed. Everything was locked from the house. It took him 2 min to unlock the door. I asked him exactly what he used. He proceeded to tell me the airbag that he used cost over $1000.00. Lock outside when I google airbag for. It costs significantly less than 30.00. I called the girl on the phone, the firm said the manager will not be in till Monday. I called to speak manager, for this Dave. He eventually returned the call, and instantly, he cried on the phone, and said"you should not have agreed to the cost, and don't bother finding me, I'm situated in India" I think in people needing to earn a reasonable living for their solutions, but to charge people in need for $200 for a 2 min occupation, is way ridiculous, I called it"highway robbery". The business was given a chance to rectify this by me, but this Dave chose to get more reviews than doing the proper thing.
When we get locked out we are in a situation. I must have read the reviews before I called that business; people have been ripping off for so long. Please do not call this business. They do not utilize them, and had a Google advertisement. They will rip you off again and again. What's having about having access to your 13, those crooks go. It makes you feel so dangerous.

**Incidentally, in case you've got a drill, then just save a lot of cash and drill through the door knob handle and the lock will probably pop itself open. Simply go buy a brand new lock at Home Depot for $25. Or, break the window. A heck of a lot more affordable, either way! :-)
It really stung to cover this 120, particularly knowing that we would have to replace and install the new door lock !
My story is similar to all those below. I called Cothron's, however, obtained some sort of recording that did not link the night locksmith and me. So I went on the listing, Locksmith Austin. The dispatcher said it'd be $39 for the support call and the locksmith will be there in 20 minutes. She also said the price could be based on what he needed to do to open the door. Seemed reasonable. She also said the day rate was the same as the night rate. Wow! I thought, how blessed!
I informed the man that I felt the dispatcher should have at least mentioned a lock BEGINS that was typical to be unlocked by the fee to which, he became quite defensive. I mean, one understands it isn't going to be economical, however this verges on highway robbery!
Some dude shows up, sees the lock and says, it's a'lock that is standard,' the cost will be $80 + the $40 service call fee. (The dispatcher said $39, but I was not going to quibble over $1, still, this goes together with their overall unprofessionalism.) When we balked at paying $80 to open the door, he threatened to leave, insisting that we would have to pay the $40 service fee. Obviously, he knows that is a deterrent to canceling the call bc he knows you will have to turn around and cover somebody else?
Now, we begin to complain that this is very unprofessional to which he retorts he was really nice to us by providing us a free lock (which he could not produce). He is basically incapable of seeing anything wrong with what he is doing. And we, seeing we got with our debate, told him to get his things take off, that we would complete the job. In a pitiful effort to make us feel much better about being ripped off, informed us lots of folks had paid him plenty more to get their doors unlocked, and by the reviews below, apparently it's true.
After many attempts with jimmy and a balloon-thingy, he decided to change plans. He tells us he has to drill the lock, which will permanently harm the door lock and needs our permission. At precisely the same time, he mentions he has a one out at the truck that he will set up for free. So, we agree and he drills out the lock which takes about 2-minutes ( a grand total of about 15-minutes about the project ). He then moves out to the truck to acquire the brand new door lock set and returns a few minutes later only to tell him he doesn't have the lock after all, however, he has yet another, better one, which he can put in to get an additional $40!

Scam. I registered police report. They say 35 for basic house lock. When the man gets there, he states $225. Do not call them. Scam. I should have thought the prior inspection.

After being charged almost $200.00 dollars to unlock my Toyota in under 5 minutes I had been Pissed! Two competitors were predicted by me and found not only was the price under $75.00 they added! PLEASE BREAK OUT YOUR WINDOW IF THESE CROOKED ASSHOLES ARE YOUR ONLY OPTION!!! Do yourself A HUGE FAVOR AND CALL( POP A LOCK)!! $

I am appalled at how this company is still in business. I left my home to walk to the college and I took one of my puppies with me. The dog was clearly eager to escape hit on the deadbolt and thus needs to have jumped up and locked me out of the home. There would be a service charge and a $ 25 minimum charge when I phoned Austin locksmith I had been told. I told them it had been a deadbolt in my own garage and they said $35 are the charge but if it was more debatable and took longer, the rate would go up. When the man arrived to your home, he quoted me to pick 225 and the lock if it had to be drilled. He was questioned by me and during that process he had the lock picked within 30 seconds. I had been charged 175 and the $10 service charge. $185 to get a 30-second support. I payed since I needed in my house and believed there was no choice. I did tell him that I would call the company and I wasn't happy with the situation. As soon as I called them, the woman said there was nothing she could do about it and that I could predict next week to talk with a manager. After taking a look at the reviews, I realized I made a mistake. Please never be manipulated by this company! I feel stupid but was in a tight spot with my car keys and telephone that I didn't have much option. So I felt restricted I'd borrowed a phone from a neighbor. I feel like I have been taken advantage of rather than provided an agency for a price. DON'T DO IT!!

Not order a ceremony like this without assessing Yelp first - my bad. Dont walk Whenever you have 17, about to become 1 evaluations, 18. . .run. Following a 20 minute lecture on the way the man they delivered is a genius, cracks safes, can open whatever, open a straightforward residential deadbolt as needed without damaging the lock like all the other losers, unlike himafter thumping on it for 10 minutes, HE DRILLED THE LOCK! I COULD HAVE DONE THAT MYSELF - FOR FREE.
The rear gate was chained so he offered to cut it - for $60. Luckily I had bolt cutters in my car and did it. But the very best part, after he exhibited the skill of a minimum wage laborer, after each of the safe-cracking'im a lock genius' bragging, he started the pressure to replace the deadbolt he destroyed that he was so proficient he would not have to drill - FOR ANOTHER $120! . The part is 12-15, also it requires turning screws. Then, for thirty minutes he pressured me to possess the home rekeyed, for $300. then $200. They'd have replaeced the $12 deadbolt, FOR FREE, because he was a genius and should never have had to run it, if these people had skill or ANY ethics. Overall bill - over $400. To run a deadbolt. Never use these people. I never will again use or recommend these people, just short of thieves

With tax, it came out to just over $250. The total process from the time of him cutting on it and getting the key out had been less than 15 minutes. (My car key is that the typical bit of metal with plastic. No electronics).
Obviously, I absolutely don't recommend these guys. I was jacked after over Christmas and those guys robbed me .
$75 for key
$120 for labour
I feel cheated for certain.
My carkeys have been in a backpack which got stolen over the holiday season. My insurance company called these guys to come meet me at the airport to get a key made up as I did not have a spare time. The man on the phone did not mention that the labour fees and intentionally quoted $75 for a secret. He told me just when it had been too late to get someone else later we were already at the car with our luggage. The harm?
$25 to start the vehicle door (which he did with a secret, btw.

I really don't want to give them any celebrities. These guys were next company I discovered when"googling" locksmith cedar park on the internet. They man who showed up was upset because I told him I want a letterhead on the receipt to file with insurance. Then he had the ba**so to inform me I should drop Progressive! I requested him the fee and filled out the paperwork. He should be ashamed of himself when he said $ 180 he told him. He then mentioned being in Iraq. . .which I really don't think is in anyway related, so I countered with I am a 24 year military retiree. I gave him $20 for a service call and told him to hit the street.
I called back their business number to state I was reporting them. I'm certain they get complaints.
Then I called Progressive back and told them to go right ahead and send their tech out to do the work; did not realize this is what I need to have done to start with, but just found this out after asking them the way I could get reimbursed along with the SHEISTER firm was already on the exit and I felt obligated. DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

I wish that there was an alternative for stars because they're a negative 100! This is a BIG rip off!!!! Light speed locksmith needed to bill $105 for receiving my keys Do not use this business!! I typed into google, because my cousin locked my keys in the 17, cheap lock smith and they are. Their ad asserts to get services so of course I call! A girl tells me thats its a $15 service charge and answers and a tech will come out and give me an estimate. If she can give me an estimate, well I ask her and she says no the tech can. So I inquire what the maxium is and she says I do not know. So I said just send out the tech. 20 minutes after he arrives grumpy and in a rush. He states im the day's final task. He spends about two minutes looking at my vehicle and heads to his car. I stop him and ask, what amount are we talking about here. $105 is said by him. I say a hundred and five dollars!!!!!???? I then say continue. I phoned my roomate if he can get my spare key to see. He didnt respond. The tech says well how much can you have? I say 50 bucks. He says okay do it. I say hold on real quick to attempt to call my roomie. This time says he's about the way home and he answers. I ask him if he can search for the key and the tech shoves on the bill and states ill do it if you sign at this time!! My roomie says he will search for this and I tell him that ill call back him since the tech has been impolite and aggressive. I then tell the tech I shall just pay the $15 service charge for moving out there and that he makes even more upset!!! He swipes the card onto his credit card system that is mobile and the device does not work! This man becomes a ticking time bomb!!!! He tells me worry about it and gets frustrated, I'm leaving today. Well I did not need to pay for it the day, and my roomie saved!

Like many, I followed up their 15 add on google. Spoke with the dispatcher and has been advised 15 for the service call and a bit more for labor. When I asked she explained depending on the car and they need to open it. I told her mine was a 2003 chev cavalier and she explained that wouldn't be much more than the 15 service charge. SO I believe amazing!
Being pressed for time I gave in and just told him to unlock the door. He'd handed me a bill for about $87 and then took him of 20 sec. I was just like $87!!!!!! WTF. He explained that because he needed to use the air bags that it cost more. I was SOOOO upset he even pulled his van mine I could not leave till I paid the whole volume. The entire thing was threatening and price gouging.
Well my first complaint is I was told the man would be at my automobile. 45 minutes after he shows up and says ya I ca jim your automobile so it will cost more. You can jim my car because I have done this and slim jim has functioned just fine. I told him this and he got mad and got mad. He refused to try it.

As they were leaving that they handed me their business card with speeds on it. If you telephone them straight its half price.... But you also run the danger of your items. Holy Crap. It was bizarre that they kept trying to tell me to store company and just call them straight. It was bizarre. I'm a big supporter of business, however this is merely one I would skip. I'm fairly lucky to have not gotten robbed, I am sure.
When they eventually got the lock drilled out they started my storage unit door to"confirm that they did not hurt anything". They have been hardcore looking at what all I have saved and commenting about the value of thing I have saved in my unit (which isn't much... its largely Christmas decorations...) and what type of price they could get for it in a pawn shop.
This is the experience I have ever had with a locksmith. I lost the keys and that I needed someone to come out and drill the lock out. I was quoted a service telephone fee and $25 to drill the lock out. So the locksmith ends up drilling the lock out and then gets there late, spends 20 minutes or so trying to pick the lock. It turned out to be. Being in precisely the exact same hallway was uncomfortable with them because they maintained referencing their sex life. Then it got worse when the woman started trying to tell me it was going to be 70 to select the lock and 99 to drill the lock out in addition to the service call fee. She kept going on about how they would need safety gear to drill the lock out and how difficult it would be to select the lock. Neither of them had any sort of protective equipment. They did not go to get any security equipment when they stop messing around and made around to drilling.
So this time these individuals are working in my storage device they kept talking about just how terrible they are and how all the lock companies in Austin are possessed by Jews and Israelis and they all needed to go die. I am not Jewish, but it was super offensive.

I had locked myself out of my apartment and my landlord does not do key provider, so I had to call a locksmith. Austin Lightspeed Locksmith advertised so I used them $15 service calls and was the result. The woman on the phone told me it would be $15 plus labour. I thought that seemed fine.
Used this business and feel REALLY ripped off.
Looking back I absolutely should have known around and done more research.
Literally 10 seconds after I agreed he had the door open. He provided to knock off on the $15, and I protested the price tag and that was he could perform. Since he left, he gave me his card and said to call him directly next time and it would be half off, which just made me even more angry.
The locksmith arrived however when I showed him my doorway he explained that kind of lock was difficult and it might cost $169 PLUS the. $184!!! I was horrified but there I consented, since he was .

While I put objects in my trunk at a target shopping 20, I locked my keys. I predicted this place because it had been the first place that came up when I googled Austin Locksmith. When I called, they told me it was likely to be 19.00 for your guy to come out and then 30.00 to allow him to receive my car open. HA! This joker reveals up 40 minutes later and immediately writes up me a quotation for 129.00. I asked him why in the world the price was double what I had been quoted. He tells me"well, with cars that are newer than 2005 (so every can in the previous DECADE)they have a tighter twist on the window and sometimes we have to make a secret, blah blah"--Anyhow, made me believe it was going to be this much trouble to get into my car. Well, as soon as I threatened to call somebody else, he immediately said"oh wait, really I can make the price $100.00 BUT you have to sign this write now". . .well thinking I went to find a discount for this MAJORLY hard procedure, I signed unknowingly. Welp, he stuck a little balloon used a snake that was little to pull on the door handle, and POOF he had been in. I said,"phew, well thank goodness you didnt have to earn a secret or any of that crazy stuff you explained". . .HE STILL MADE ME PAY 100.00 for NOTHING. I was mad and I felt taken advantage of.

Notice that the 1 star fad here? If you see a company offering a fee that is starting that is 10 run for the hills. My locksmith was within my own zipcode but nevertheless took 45 minutes for me. Bottom line- if they can not quote you the price of unlocking your model and year vehicle don't use them.

I got phone calls from 3 locksmiths that were different until they showed up and it cost me 80 dollars. Got. Business is unorganized and has been unimpressed with their mindset. 'd have been better off breaking a window and paying that to be replaced.

This provider is only in business because people are unaware that there are any other choices! I called Pop-A-Lock after this and they arrived earlier than expected and charged me only $56.00.
After all his supervisor finally calls me on my line where I inform her yes, their prices are out of my scope and that's not their fault in any way, but what IS their fault is their technician showed up thirty minutes late without even notifying me whatsoever. I argued that when I had called another company like Cothron's or Pop-A-Lock they would have been finished by the time the technician of this company even showed up. It's now that the woman on the phone with me says"You are the one who locked yourself out of your house, why are you blaming everyone else for wasting your own time?!" As far as I'm concerned this was uncalled for. I never once said it was the organization's fault I was locked outside, I simply refused to cover a"service charge" when I never got ANY customer services. This would be when I have hung up on.
Yesterday I named Austin Locksmith after locking myself out of my condo... if I had only known how hard that they were going to be I would have hung up after the first ring.
The dispatcher stated that the technician would call me in a few minutes to let me know just how far away he was, when I called, and he did. The technician said he was about 30 minutes away, which I was absolutely fine with (even though other companies promised service in nearer to 15-20 minutes). He'd be late, after waiting for over an HOUR the technician finally showed around my house without even needing to inform me.
When he DEMANDED the $25.00 service charge for him making the trip out to my house I refused to pay for it because he was not only late (double the promised time) but his level of professionalism was lacking in more ways than you. The technician explained that when I refused to cover him he would need to call the authorities! I requested so I could please explain my unwillingness to pay a service charge when I had never been afforded any service that he call his supervisor. He denied several times before I called the company myself, the dispatcher explained that she would call his supervisor and they would return to me. Sure , the supervisor did call him, but I must hear the technician telling his boss the reason I wouldn't cover the service charge is because"she states it is too expensive and she doesn't want to pay for the occupation" (not at all why I would not pay).
I tell him that I had told the dispatcher concerning the locks but that was not enough. He proceeds to inform me for the deadbolt it would be $49.00 and to get the doorknob it would be $29.00 plus labor, therefore when I said"how much is this going to cost me?" He explained it would be $155.00... in case you're checking that's roughly $300/ hr! I advised him to forget it after hearing this cost quote and I would only smash in one of my windows because that would be more economical to replace.
