Just moved into a brand new apartment in Brooklyn. My new place didn't arrive with a lock and the landlord would not cover you personally, so I phoned All Brooklyn Locksmith.
This was not an emergency and that I tell them that. The operator got back to me in an hour and advised a time the evening to have a locksmith come by for the setup. He came within 4 hours of this call. He was professional efficient. The entire process took less than thirty minutes. The credit card was taken by him because I could not pay cash. The locksmith overheard me speaking to my buddy about window guards and he said that they may also offer installation services for them, so that I might be calling them back for this too.

Called at 545 was guaranteed guy would show 720 up at the latest. Guy showed up at 8:55. Quite fine, and a fantastic attitude, which is what saves this from 1 star. In case you do not bullshit the client can't create your guaranteed time and then tell them you are held up by minutes. In the event you have provide the client a window of time the client can then make plans. Otherwise, you could end up with a two star yelp review.
I phoned this locksmith and advised him it was an emergency and the guy explained 15 minutes. He came in 25, which is pretty good.
I thought the price was absurd - $95 for him to come along and move a piece of cardboard up and down the doorway? This is something that I would have attempted myself had I never panicked that my puppy was frightened and could have. It took literally no longer than 15 minutes complete of this man's time including the drive out of Flatbush Ave (15 minutes would be GENEROUS, it was likely 10), so you'd think he would cut me a break, but no. I certainly would not use him again just because I'm sure there are plenty of locksmiths out there that would do a fantastic job without price gouging afterwards.
I locked the door from the interior, once I leave the home and I leave my dog in there. So when I came home, I had no way and my puppy was stuck indoors. She wasn't able to get out although she started wailing, realizing that I was home and has a great deal of anxiety.
