Reasons Andrew stood out:
5) Price - he did the work for a very fair price.
4) Quality - the work was performed flawlessly. He did a very thorough job with permits, and abandoned the area clean.
3) Quick - managed to do a very major plumbing job the following day.
It is hard to get excited by means of a plumbing system, but understanding it and getting to see the high excellent work Andrew finished's a remedy that will likely outlive me makes me feel ecstatic. Will definitely call him for all of plumbing requirements.
I had a major clog in our house caused by roots in the line in front of the house. Andrew came by to look at the issue after and reached out submitting a petition. He used a camera and we made a plan for installing a two dimensional cleanout and performing a trenchless replacement of the line in front of the house. He was great to work with throughout the procedure, and helped mend a situation that was very stressful immediately.
2) Do not attempt to over-sell me. Gave reasonably priced tradeoffs and options of various strategies. I insisted on a larger upgrade of the plumbing system, and he managed to work with me.
I would highly recommend you to consider giving a telephone for your plumbing requirements that are future to Andrew.
Andrew was courteous, prompt, and professional.
We needed to replace two toilets. I had a good deal of questions since it is my very first time replacing toilets:--RRB- Andrew answered all of my questions via numerous text message exchanges which gave an excellent idea of the project to me and allow me to feel comfortable.
After that consultation, Andrew not just completed the job with an quick turnaround period, he also managed to save us some money buy getting the toilets with wholesale pricing - that we originally intended to buy from Home Depot.
Andrew was very accommodating into his program by me when we had some drains. He was quite pleasant to use. The drains were cleared in a timely way. The only disappointment was that while he was still here, he didn't have a tip to apparent another lineup. Andrew stopped clearing the line that was remaining and came back to a day. We appreciate that he was efficient and tidy.
Because he had been working on Xmas Eve, we chose, to respect his time, he would take a few home calls while my husband and I went to buy the water heater. When he returned , he spent hours installing our heater and eliminating our water heater that was dead.
My husband and I awakened Xmas Eve to some fantastic gift from our home: a broken water heater using NO warm water. Since we hosted our household Xmas dinner, this was quite the curve ball in our strategies.
He came to your home call and assessed our situation. He agreed that we had a new water heater, and with our assessment. He was not planning on working now, but viewing our water heater that was dead, he chose to come and assist us. Seriously, how many plumbers do so on Xmas Eve?!? Thank you, Andy!!!
Andy is exceptionally detail oriented. He pointed out several ways in which our old water heater (installed several owners ago!) Wasn't up to code, to aluminum pipes out of non-functional earthquake straps! (Yikes!) The new copper pipes that he soldered was routed like a pro (I am an engineer, and it was exactly how I'd have wanted it! Remember, I did NOT direct/ask for the routing, he did it like a boss!) .
I tried to provide him food/drink across the best way to express my gratitude for his job, but he would take was one Coke Zero and a hot java.
There was a slight accident, which explains why it's a 4-star rating rather than 5-star, since his work quality is spot on, but I will not go into it. So most of us make errors, plus, we're all human.
After fundamental troubleshooting, we realized the water heater had croaked. We predicted several plumbers only to find voicemails. When we were getting back-up strategies that were minding and disheartened, Andy called back. Yes!
In general, my husband and I really enjoyed working with Andy. Thank you, Andy!!!
While using a party on a weekend, had a backup on primary sewage line. Andrew came out to do a cleanout but my sewer line was ruined and had a serious discontinuity. Nothing I didn't already know. I have had at least one backup and cleanout each year. Everytime and each shows me the tape. It had gotten worse. I decided to have it fixed once and for all. He managed to receive over one of his employees, stayed through the day and started digging. Did I mention it was raining and it was a Sunday. Was able to have the exact same moment, it usable. Very considerate and professional. Fantastic communication. Offers pricing that is fair. Definitely will use again for future plumbing needs.
August 13 - In my petition, Andrew inspected the water heater that is 20 year-old we own. The sort of flooding there would have been catastrophic, and Andrew pointed out the telltale indications that this appliance was really on time. I arranged to have Comet come within another day once I had planned the delivery of a countertop, as well as another handyman to perform some unrelated jobs. Andrew took great care at the heater which was on the second floor of the condo's installation. He was careful to keep out of the other technicians' way while everything was set up by him and was meticulous with every step. I loved the time he took to communicate the rationale.
We had a kitchen clog which has been poor enough that I couldn't fix it later that week. Andrew came by on his way home from a job that was large and utilized a jet tool to flush out was extensive.
I asked Andrew to come over to replace our garbage disposal that was semi automatic this morning. He simply happened to get a replacement unit available and came over immediately. He left our house safer and pointed out where the wiring could improve . He also set up a water line for our ice maker that we had been wanting to put in but had been procrastinating for fear of messing it up. The ice manufacturer's doing the thing of it as I'm finishing this up review.
A plumber is someone you rely to get you and sometimes to make things just a bit nicer. We're thankful and have real peace of mind. I truly hope that my critique does not get filtered out just because Comet does not pay for a premium list here. For what members need to know, my reviews are written with a lot of consideration and heart. If this review does not make it past the 20, I'd take it as a indication of disrespect.
May 12, 2012 - My wife and 4 year-old daughter were alone when our water heater that is ancient emptied out and flooded the doorway. She found Comet on Google. On the telephone, Comet assisted her shut off the water. Andrew arrived within the hour, showed us the origin of the issue, quoted the occupation, and purchased. Also, although he did extensive work to not only set up the water heater to deliver the entire installation, plumbing, and ventilation up to code. All was resolved, that night and bath time occurred.
Similar to finding a fantastic doctor, dentist, lawyer, or mechanic, Locating a plumber that is fantastic is. These relationships are based on a high degree of trust. He'll come right away, and you can call a plumber that is fantastic at a time of need and make all better. I appreciate. I will just list the tasks here since I can not review every time Comet and Andrew have saved our bacon:
I have a plumber for work within the home, however when my sewer line revealed signs of needing replacement, I asked that a local contractor and was referred to Comet Plumbing and Sewer. Andrew is a professional. He did good work, came after he said he would, showed up several occasions to make sure everything was as it should be during a week-long ordeal with city inspections and permits, and even labored for hours in the rain to make sure my service would not be interrupted. He gives a warranty on his work, so hopefully I will never require his services but should there ever be a necessity, I would call him in a heartbeat.
By placing a bucket started out. I told him there. So I end up using one of my baskets to scoop water and into his bucket. He begins'working' on the clog.
The man (Andrew) came outside to unclog my drain and not only FAILED to do so, but gave me a leak in the process!
Then I called $15 Sewer and Drain and they had been in and out in 15 minutes and fixed .
He left a leaking pipe stating that the plumber did it to me. How's that when those pipes wasn't leaking until it touched and are a year old! He couldn't even repair the leak and left telling me to call a plumber! All toldhe had been here for about a hour and a half.
I phoned Comet Plumbing in desperate need of a plumber. Andrew was right on time, he said he would be there in 30 min! We had a back up in our drain our kitchen was flooded by that. Clear the blockage and then he immediately assessed the issue and proceeded to clear the drain. He explained the procedure he was going to choose to fix the issue and was very polite. His rates were good and fair. There was not any charge for your late night trip! For my plumbing needs, I strongly recommend him and will be calling him out!
We had a terrific experience with Comet. The inspection is a little over due. The day after christmas our sewer line chose to collapse. Luckily we got through Christmas day first! We did not realize that it had been our sewer line. We only thought we had a toilet that my husband could not snake. Another location was called by us who came. He took off to go work on a different job - the ground was wet and that our toilet was torn off. We called Comet and rather than going blind, he sent his range down and figured out the lineup. This would not be fixed by any snake! The whole procedure took a couple of days, but he dug the front yard out and replaced the line. My only criticism was that our yard did not get put back together nicely... the yard is still horribly uneven where it had been dug out, but we have got a sewer line, therefore that is what's critical. I'd call him again.
Andy came out and did excellent work. Low price and completed in time. Under bidding competition. Very friendly and courteous. Will have him will recommend to family and friends as well and do of my work from now on.
Hardworking honest and very outspoken about the job being done and how long it will take - that I would not hesitate to urge Andy to anyone requiring plumbing work.
We couldn't be happier with the service we got from the men and Andy he has working for him. A week after moving into our new lease home water would not drain and waste was moving into the tub! We got consent to phone an emergency plumber Following the landlord suggested dumping a large bucket of water down the pan this was about 7 in the evening. Andy found blockages that he was able to snake outside and remained to video-scope the pipe and arrived within the hour.
He handled all the communication because it was rotten and old beyond 22, concerning replacing the pipe. He and his men dug a trench, replaced the pipe and set the backyard back how it was such that you would hardly know they'd been there.
He also demonstrated great professionalism in working together with our landscaping contractor in terms, and has been accomodating with regard to timing in addition to work branch (who was responsible for what). He made the entire process as quickly as possible, and cared for licenses. Cost-wise he was quite aggressive - one of the very best out of the group that gave us quotations.
Highly recommend for tasks large and small. We will be calling for any plumbing needs!
We did a complete rehaul of the landscaping in our front yard, and realized early on we ought to get our sewer main (which runs through the yard) replaced beforehand. We had 4 backups in a few years due to the root systems from a couple of trees in the yard. Had a number of plumbing/sewer contractors and called about come out to provide quotes. These ran the gamut from quotations that were blind to men who came and conducted a camera through the cleanouts to find out what the problem was. Andrew from Comet was one that was quite thorough in showing us what he planned to do to fix everything, and where the issues were, and did the latter. Other firms indicated"trenchless" fix.
I couldn't agree more with the comments from Jon C. Finding a good reliable plumber is tough at best. We found ourselves in a desperate need of a plumber. One telephone to Comet and Andrew was our location within 30 minutes, after looking at the issue with our backed up kitchen sink he provided us with a quotation prior to the work, got right at the issue and was done in 30 minutes and billed us precisely what he said he'd. Problem solved and a fantastic pipes resource on document. Thank you Andrew !!!
A few months back, I had a sewer line that had immediate repair. Andrew came out to try and snake the lineup, and he determined that he couldn't break through the clog. His evaluation was because his 4 inch blade should be able to push through anything else like a hot knife through butter, that it has to be a broken pipe or completely collapsed pipe. For digging 75 feet of my recently landscaped front lawn up, Then he talked me. I inquired if there were any other options, when I balked at the thousand dollar price. To his credit, he'd bring up the fact that there's a trenchless option, but nevertheless , he kept insisting that I don't go with the trenchless option (basically, digging two little ditches on both ends of the sewer line, using machinery to feed a fresh pipe through the existing one and pushing/obliterating the existing pipe in the floor ), also that his guys could dig the ditch and restore my landscape back to the original state. I told him I wanted to seek another opinion, and was dubious about this. He was nice enough about that, but tried to convince me that trenchless option is risky, etc..
If you choose to engage Comet Plumbing, then you can make your own determination on how"honest" they're, however, my experience has shown that if you take only a little bit of time and speak to some other individuals, you'll probably find out the truth.... Before you make a decision and get suckered.
Anyhow, I found that the Andrew's quotation was on the side, and did receive a couple of other quotations for an old fashioned digging a significant trench choice and a trenchless. I discovered that trenchless, is in fact, a way to go. It doesn't require digging up the whole lineup, and it's VERY secure (and, last but not least, almost half the price of what Andrew tried to bill me). Plumbers who have expertise and the equipment, perform all of the time to pipe replacements, plus they don't have any problems. The guys, like Comet Plumbing and Sewer, don't have this expertise, so they attempt to downplay it steer you in the hopes you will get suckered into their strategy that is more expensive and guide.
Lastly, the plumber I ended up using, was with assisting me unclog my drain pipe by using a bigger diameter snake that readily pushed through the issue area forthcoming. At least this guy was ready to give it a try and clear my pipe out prior to the actual pipe replacement happened, so I could use my toilets and water . Andrew, on the other hand, left me stuck with a plugged sewer tube, and basically just kept telling me that he didn't need to push his machine that was vending any tougher.
We had a leak from the outside faucet at the back of our property. While it was not an emergency situation it was one which, when it was discovered, we needed to cure. A man named Andrew called Comet and greeted upon the ring me. I explained, to the top of my non-plumbing capacity, what the problem was. Andrew stated that, if it worked for my program, he is down within an hour. I thought to myself, this is much superior than many of my past experiences in attempting to have any other service provider or a plumber. Far too many times I contacted someone, made the appointment only to have them say that the job was too little for them, call to say they had been running even bother showing up at all. Andrew came within the stated time time, as promised. I answered the door, he respectfully and expertly greeted me with a waiting handshake and a business card. He waited while I slipped on some shoes and I lead him. Being the handy fix he might have been talking Urdu. To his credit, I asked him to review it with me so that I could understand what needed to be done to fix it and what was happening. He took another stab at it, quitting whenever he saw he was losing . Then he quoted me what he thought the components would cost and there was a level amount for the service call a cost. He wrote up an estimate and that I initialed where asked. He asked about the nearest OSH or Home Depot was as he didn't have the proper part(s) which were needed for the occupation. He said something about only having the"female" ending and what we needed was the"man" version. He drove off to obtain the desired part. Andrew went to work and returned within 30 minutes. He did the job, taking off the old part and replacing it. All the while I am looking over his shoulder needing to be certain it was done properly, yeah, like I would have known otherwise... In the end, the entire fee for the job was really less than his first quote (by about 15%). He adjusted the paperwork, I wrote him a check for a work well done and signed off on it. We are no longer wasting gallons of water per day and I have found a new plumber should I need one. Comet Plumbing/Andrew would be recommended by me without hesitation.
