Very responsive. When you need a locksmith, you need responsive. They were easy to get hold of, very friendly and helped us problem solve the solution for our issue.
Should you reside in Hoboken, I am not sure why you'd go anywhere else.
Good experience with Hoboken Lock & Supply this morning. Well Luis, outside of business hours and in under one hour out of my call to them, the repair was completed.
Be sure to ask for Karl.
Have scraping feeling like nails on a chalkboard, even though it's only a 2nd generation copy? Does your landlord inform you"all of the keys are similar to that"? On moving day in your new apt, only to find the brand new copy your landlord stated he simply made up the block doesn't even fit in the cylinder have you came? Did you just get charged $150 to copy a MulTLock you could have made for $10 in 7Eleven down the block (see automated KeyMe machine inside)? Have you lived in Hoboken your entire life, and don't understand the difference between these machines and a correctly cut key down the coast that turn pennies into works of art? And incidentally, does your badly cut brass key have an"ESP" emblem on it?
Make sure to stop by Hoboken Lock on another trip to Hoboken for a few semi-workingrushed copies made on a single pass, which may or may not incorporate all 6 or 5 cuts of your first, 4. Since in machines, speed and cutting corners is what matters and"just try and see if it works" is what made amazing engineering feats such as the Titanic potential.
If you answered"Yes" to any of these questions, then congratulations... You have been a casualty of Hoboken Lock!!
Possibly the most peculiar"locksmith" in the northeast, possibly the world; their motto should be"F***ing Up Locks All Over Hoboken For 30+ Years!!"
The only reason why a place like this exists is because it is situated in a virtual island of a little 1.5-mile one-horse walkable city where there are only 2 other alternatives available (the 2nd equally as inept and imprecise and the 3rd almost always shut ), and it is termed"Hoboken Lock."
This place is a little business doing a disservice to its area. It epitomes the gloomy small city story of a misguided soul who'd have been far better advised to go into another line of work many years back, possibly open a bakery or butcher shop....something where more attention is paid to the senses than to these minor details as precision and precision.
Professional and efficient. Took less than an hour for Luis fix a door that wouldnt close properly, install 2 locks, to replace 2 cylinders, and make copies of my keys. Price was very fair.
My butt was rescued out of a lockout on LABOR DAY. Prompt answer, before they were led to the beach. What a hero. Professional, reasonable cost considering the conditions, happy to have someone I could rely on in the future.
Paid in $20ea for 4 Multilock Keys for the condominium. Told them my assumptions and property mgr were moving to each pick up 1 once they were completed, and I'd return to the 2. They could not locate them when I attempted to receive my last 2. Was told I waited too long and they do not recall. Carl did recall the trade but could not recall details that are enough to justify making 2 keys for me. Though he confessed I did pay for all 4, but insisted my realtor took all four keys (I know that didn't happen).
Who doesn't know how to keep a record of those items? A piece of paper in a binder or a computer record takes up no space..unacceptable in this era. I am out $40. Would avoid when I could.
Looks like Hoboken Lock gets a bad rap here. I had purchased the hardware and put in a brand new front door in my apartment building. It ends up that the hardware was incorrect but Carl assisted identify and repair the issues and Louis came out multiple times before the job was done and was always courteous.
Horrible customer service and they don't stand by warranties. We needed to call the maker to receive our 400 lock repaired! Don't use them!!!
Completely ridiculous that I was charged $250 for the two minutes it required my door is unlocked by some guy to come. I learned I suppose, but that's the most ridiculous fee I have ever seen and I will NEVER call back in case this happens againI could travel all of the way home to Long Island and back in a lesser price.
EDIT: I was likewise NEVER told the cost whilst on the phone using the contact in the business. Complete rip-off
Needed to make some copies of my keys and as soon as I walked I was assisted, and the procedure took under a minute! Both keys worked and it was just a few bucks. Highly recommend.
Thieves up burglars. I had a problem with my front door lock. Guy showed up for an hourcharged us and did not even do the job. In addition to that he snagged some tools in the handymen I'd working on things in the house. Amateur low lives. Go anywhere else but here.
Avoid this locksmith. A lock was fitted by them right into an existing one using a plate that was surrounding. The locksmith asked when I want to take the plate away. He said it'd look aesthetically better without it. He took off it and I am left with a hole in my doorway that defeats the object of a lock! They charged me. They were rude refused to fix my doorway, and won't refund any money. They're extortionists. On a different occasion, they cut. I found that they didn't function I took the trash outside over thanksgiving and was stuck outside in my yoga equipment in the freezing cold when. Hoboken Locksmith who shot no longer than 60 minutes to allow me in was called by A type couple. They charged me $300 and refused to provide a discount to me though the keys were not negligently cut by them correctly. They didn't want to give me the time of day and were rude. Their sole agenda is to get your money and to do a job. Steer clear of the Locksmith!
As somebody else pointed out, they said it would cost only $50 to call out the locksmith to let me in. But they charged me $300 to get a 60 second occupation.
Furthermore, Luis didn't return several calls and the proprietor, Al, didn't respond to emails or telephone calls asking to change to someone else.
It took a good month and 3 follow-up calls after he told me I'd obtain the estimate in a week After Luis visited the home I was planning to purchase. As a follow-up at his request, Luis made a consultation with me about the 1 day that I had access to the home, then completely blew off it. They expressed amazement that he had a consultation with me when I called to check on where he was.
This is a locksmith to avoid at any cost.
Hoboken Lock also states they offer locks, in addition to doorways, but it is impossible to acquire the door person to coordinate with the lock person, and that means you're not able to get the image for a install. Grade F if you've got a commercial or residential installation.
Called them at 3.30pm and was told it'd be a $125 call out charge. Put me on hold and then told me that they were closing for the holiday weekend (it states they were open until 5pm) and thus had to bill me an emergency call out charge of $250. This is before the cost of any work was added. Called Hoboken Regal locksmith rather who got me operate and back in my apartment over half an hour for under $180 inc telephone outside. Telephone them!
Service was awful! The price for creating a copy of a single crucial is 60 bucks! Then I abandoned this store.
They were professional and helpful and the parts came in on time. We unfortunately used a different contractor to put in the lock system, and I wish I'd used Hoboken Lock & Supply to this. We've had a few issues with the guards, and us Carl walked through some things to try ourselves first. I absolutely trust the team at Hoboken Lock & Supply (special call-out to Carl!) For honesty and their professionalism. Highly suggested!
The old Medeco lock on front door fell apart and I was convinced we had a new one. They quoted me around $400 for labour and parts but he said it could be repaired and did the repair in 30, if the man arrived at the home. He also fixed two locks which gave us trouble. Total price: $160. They arrived when they said they went to, were polite and did great job.
Prompt and efficient. Recommended.
Even tho it wasn't a crisis they had someone over within two hours of their request for support. Rico was fine to take care of and knew precisely what he was doing. Our thing was solved within 20 minutes and at a good cost.
My main snapped in half. I needed it fixed right away. When I came in, they were able generate a copy and to take the 2 pieces. The process is required about two minutes and it cost me $2. Fantastic service.
These men are outstanding. I had an impending work trip and may only take same-day support and they were able to find in a matter of hours (at no excess cost ). The locksmith was educated, friendly, and he completed the necessary work in record time. In addition, he explained why he did certain things the way he did, which I always appreciate (I am obviously curious).
I will not hesitate to use them again later on, that is for certain.
