These people saved me hundreds of dollars and hours of headaches.
The key for my Mazda died (as in dropped to pieces) and also the replacement key I purchased wasn't working to start the engine. So I needed a new one. You know, before we made a decision to place chips in everything that thing which cost $3? It is well worth noting that my car battery was dead so even when the key has been repaired, assuming I made it toed into a store I'd need a jump to get home.
So, as the key gurus throughout the net suggest (and I now suspect they were all paid representatives of this evil dealership cabal) this task now requires special equipment and a special computer, so I called the Mazda dealership nearby. I had been quoted $122 to reprogram the key, and they had been more careful to emphasize that it might not work, but I'd still need to pay. I'd need to pay $295 for another $122 and a new key to plan it, if it did not work. If there could be a charge for its jump start I asked. $245 they stated. Really? To get a jump? Yes. $245 for some thing most services (and strangers in parking lots) perform at no cost. I grunted and managed and laughed to not yell obscenities at the girl who is merely doing her job relaying unsuspecting drivers the organization's insanity.
11/10 would urge.
Then I called those guys. I told them about my problem, and was told I'd find a call back with a quote. Five minutes later, Haggai calls me and tells me he will be in 35 minutes in place. He told me I simply needed a quote, but he said he would check it out and give me a free estimate. Fair enough. Shortly afterwards, he arrives, figures out what is wrong with the key, quotes me a price, cuts a secret that is new, reprograms the chip, jumps the engine, and bing bang boom, I am on my way to find a cheeseburger. With tax and everything, I (happily) compensated $267 - less than I'd have paid only for the part in the dealership.
Company that was Wonderful, I had previous called moved slow, and left my car door handle unscrewed. The very wonderful gentleman who runs this company was great at following through, very polite (even though at the time he showed up my neighbors dropped my keys off they'd discovered outside), also fixed my door handle at no charge. A very professional and kind person. Would recommend.
